Dash and Viluki, either a Daywalker's Hat or a pair of goggles that cost the same amount (50 GP,) will suffice.
Orbius, go ahead and make a character.
By the way everyone, this thread closes in 2 weeks once I have selected the players and replaced my laptop, since that will give everyone time to solidify character concepts and give me a better way to post than a smartphone!
Oh, and everyone needs to vote on the starting world and group background!

There is also the Lesser Daywalker's Hat it works the same but is 10 GP but any Magical Light that would damage the wearer immediately shut off the hat for a number of rounds equal to the Number of Damage Dice that it deals.
EDIT: Sorry for jumping in... I am just curious on ways to run this style of campaign.

I assumed this game would be using the gate system that connects the solar system, but I can't speak for the GM.
I also don't know how well known the gate system is supposed to be. Would a gunslinger from Alkenstar know anything about star gates (probably not)? My guy got accidentally zapped to the starting planet by a storm in the mana wastes (totally not lifted from Lirianne's story) So he'd be happy to see fellow Golarionites, particularly if they knew about the gates and how to maybe get him home.
I would imagine that regardless of the method of travel, all our characters would be looking for more information about it, which would probably cause us to cross paths at least. That seems to be a good place to start our common back story as any too me. What about you guys? Theories, ideas, thoughts?

Azaelas, no problem on jumping in. The campaign is intriguing, since most people would not run a space campaign, primarily because it requires a load of time and creativity to make an evocative universe. Feel free once the actual campaign thread goes up in 2 weeks to dot it so you can keep track of it. Just don't make responses in the actual campaign and, instead, PM me if you have input at that stage. Now that I'm done rambling, no need to apologize for the interest.
Viluki, that is fine, so long as you buy it.
Captain Moonscar and Rax, there are stargates AND spaceships. I'll probably call them aetherships though. Both are canon since Distant Worlds came out, though they have been in Pathfinder since that mouthwatering teaser article in Second Darkness. The plan is to use a ship for traveling between planets, unless popular vote goes with stargates. Spaceships would allow for a mobile base of operations, so to speak, to say nothing of the SHIP CUSTOMIZATION OPTIONS! Yes, there is a reason that's in caps. I made a system for building and modifying starships! I was going to release that info Friday, but just giving you something to consider. As for the knowledge in Alkenstar about stargates, I will perform GM caveat and say 2-3 people do and that's it. Can you imagine how hard it would be to keep the right individuals in Alkenstar if the higher ups in the city made that common knowledge? As for your characters background with the Mana Waste storm, that is fine with me.

A few brief questions concerning psicrystal's. As constructs they are immume to mind-affecting even though they have an intel score. They also have a link that allows them to telepathically communicate with its master as the mind-link power, a mind-affecting power normally. They also have share-powers within 5ft and I can manifest personal powers on them instead.
So my questions are, if I Mind-Link with another creature does my crystal have the ability to communicate with them as well? Can I use harmless mind-affecing powers like sense-link on him for scouting purposes? Can I cast personal powers like conceal thoughts on it via share powers ability? I don't mind either way this goes just trying to get an idea of what it can and cant do ingame. My gut tells me no but i thought I'd ask you all anyway.

Hey if I'm a created android then creating an AI for the ship does not seem like a big deal. Then again it would be kind of cool to copy myself into the ship.
Ooh, I like that. Kinda like Melfina from Outlaw Star. Maybe less naked. Maybe we could work in a progression path where you'd start out having to be plugged in to work the ship at first, but as you level up you gain the ability to control it remotely, eventually being able to control the ship and you character simultaneously.
...can it still be powered by the heart of a forsaken child though?

Dash and Orbis, yes to the questions regarding psicrystals and ship AI. The specifics of the ship's design and AI are up to the players.
Captain Moonscar is correct. Everyone work on the background and I'll let you know in one week who is in.
Also, is everyone that has posted still interested? It's been a while since a few people have replied, which is why I ask.
Captain Moonscar |
Captain moonscar is not the alias for this game. I may change my name so Im keeping the post cound below 10. This alias's full name is Captain Morgan "Moonscar" McCrite the pirate from scooby-doo on zombie island. The alias for this game is currently named Dash Gibson. But I'll still totally be the captian if you want.

From Captain Moonscar:
So whats our profession? Any thoughts as to what we are doing in space? Are we criminals, hunting criminals, just completing whatever task we were paid to do, researching distant worlds and cultures, running from people trying to hunt us down for some reason, refugees from some disaster; I could go on all day.

Space Mercenaries (love this webcomic) , adventuring archaeologists. I personally want to find the codex of infinite planes. Actually I would like to find any of the knowledge based artifacts.
Examples.
Codex of the Infinite Planes, Anathema Archive, Book of Infinite Spells, Book Of the Damned, Revelation Quill, Sihedron Tome, Book of Eternal Necromancy.
So I kind of like adventuring archeologists.
