.

The drow shrieks as he falls to the ground and is savaged by the hyena. Magnus and Reva then move in to attack the gecko, both of them missing their attacks.

Attack: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (8) + 8 = 16 Damage: 1d8 + 8 ⇒ (8) + 8 = 16
Reva's Attack: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (10) + 7 = 17 Damage: 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (7) + 3 = 10

The giant gecko, still enraged at the death of his master, leaps upon Magnus but the dwarf simply bats it away.

As the drow tries to stand Saphren cuts him down with no visible remorse.

MW Cold Iron Falchion: 1d20 + 9 + 4 + 2 ⇒ (7) + 9 + 4 + 2 = 222d4 + 9 + 2 ⇒ (4, 2) + 9 + 2 = 17

Shoulda stayed down. he says with no small amount of contempt. Turning to the gecko he says Its just a lizard. Might be handy to have if we can tame it. Maybe don't kill it? If the drow is down Saphren will draw his sap as he moves to flank with the dwarf and try to do nonlethal damage to the creature.

Sap: 1d20 + 8 + 2 ⇒ (16) + 8 + 2 = 261d5 + 4 + 2 + 3d6 ⇒ (1) + 4 + 2 + (1, 1, 5) = 14

.

Reva and Magnus follow up on their attacks, almost killing the gecko thanks to the power of Zoso's song! Saphren then handily kills the drow with a rip of his falchion, pulls out a sap, and clubs the gecko into unconsciousness. The drow druid twitches, the arrow sticking out of his eye.

My thinking was that the gecko was either an animal companion or regular mount. If it was a companion it should revert back to regular animal when the druid died. So suddenly it becomes loot. No reason to kill it if its loot! :)

Saphren goes about looting the bodies and making sure they are dead-dead. He is efficient and unemoptional about this. Finding the silver dagger he holds it up for a moment for all to see then points to himself and then pockets the blade, claiming it for now. He then holds up the spear with curious interest.

Saphren can use a spear and does not have a magic weapon. But he has weapon focus with his masterwork Falchion. Does anyone else need the spear for now?

While the others figured out the enchantments on the drow equipment, Lyr posted himself at the mouth of the tunnel they had not been down yet to act as a lookout. His bird moved awkwardly next to him on the ground, the confines of the caves uncomfortable for her.

Zoso retrieves a single arrow. He then silently moves west past Lyr a few steps into the cave they haven't explored yet to look ahead.

.

The group checks into the passage leading west, moving the boulder blocking the passage out of the way a smidge.

Several thick, rocky natural pillars rise up in this high sea cave. The water filling the lower portion of the enormous cavern sloshes and surges with the tide, and a five-foot-wide rocky beach lines the northeastern face of the pool. The cave ceiling soars to a height of eighty feet. To the south, several wooden platforms attached to the rock pillars are further supported by wooden pilings—the structure looks somewhat treacherous. The sound of rushing, falling water comes from the northern end of the chamber, where a thin cascade of water plummets from a narrow crack in the ceiling into the pool below.

Two drow males are on the supports, carefully watching the boulder. Below, a large orca lazily swims through the waters.

Perception:

1d20 + 8 ⇒ (20) + 8 = 28
1d20 + 8 ⇒ (16) + 8 = 24

As Zoso peers down the hall, there's a shout as the drow guards were prepared! Someone calls back from the north of the cavern, likely from behind the boulder by the waterfall.

Undercommon:

"They're here! They got past Xakhin!"

"He was weak anyways. Nocticula's power is with me and they will die!"

FYI, I've typically let players roll their own saves because I enjoy the drama. However, I think I'm going to switch and roll for you guys for the flow of combat since knowing whether you save or not can change actions.

Trig starts summoning while the two guards raise their hand crossbows, firing at Saphren and Zoso respectively! A bolt slams into Zoso's side, and a numbness begins to spread through his body which he just manages to fight off.

Reva then darts out, her sword bursting into white light as she casts judgement on those she faces. She then quickly chants a spell to protect herself.

Across the water, a beautiful drow woman floats down from a hidden ledge before landing on the water's surface. Her eyes flash as she stares up at the group before pointing a finger at Reva and calling to her.

Wait a sec, didn't Reva have Protection from Evil up? That would block her from evil mind control.

If not and the action stands:
Trig realizes that Reva was compelled to jump into the water, and chooses to have her spell summon a water elemental into the water nearby. Blue square = where the elemental is summoned to. Blue Arrow = charge path.

If Reva isn't in the water:

Lyr reached out with the power of his god to sooth the massive creature in the water.

.

Quick note - there is a ladder leading up to the platform at G9A which is 10' high. I'll say Saphren did some acrobatic stuff to get to his current position but Mangus for example has a climb ahead of him.

Lyr rushes over and begins chanting a spell to target the orca. Invoking the power of Ketephys he sends out soft, calming words to the enraged killer whale.

Will: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (18) + 5 = 23

However, the orca resists the spell and keeps on fighting! Magnus clanks his way over to the bridge to help take care of the two drow.

In the water, the shimmering white light around Reva changes a bit as she desperately tries to swim away from the orca. Its teeth find the mark, and the water goes red with Reva's blood while she tries to escape the orca.

Attack: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (17) + 13 = 30 Damage: 2d6 + 12 ⇒ (3, 2) + 12 = 17

Up on the platform, one drow draws his rapier to engage Saphren, missing badly. The other fires a crossbow bolt at Trig. Both attacks miss.

Finally, the priestess simply stalks her way up to Reva, walking calmly along the water and watching the inquisitor as she tries to escape.

Lyr scampers along the cliff face, and fires an arrow down at the drow priestess, taking her in the shoulder with an arrow!

Magnus holds his action, waiting for a way to get Reva out of the water.

Down in the water, Reva leaps up at the cliff face, trying to climb out. The drow priestess attacks but misses. Despite being under constant attack, Reva manages to climb a few feet out of the water! The priestess hits again, this time connecting.

The drow retaliates with the one on the platform simply holding his action as he screams and holds his eyes from the incredible flash in his sensitive eyes. The priestess swings out at Reva, scoring a solid hit on the inquisitor. The drow on the platform holds his action, clawing at his eyes.

A brilliant ray of sunlight shines from his holy symbol, striking the eyes of the whale and drow. Unfortunately the drow resists the spell, and the whale dives out of the way.

Ranged Touch Attack, Blinding Ray: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (3) + 5 = 8

Realizing the state of things, and crying out fro the loss of Reva, Magnus grabs his trusty crossbow.

On the water, despite her two drow guards being killed, the priestess looks fairly confident in herself, and turns to Saphren, calling out a spell. She lets out a single note in a high pitch that gets louder, and louder. Suddenly, the post beneath Saphren's feet breaks in half, and he feels the floor give way! However, Saphren easily leaps to the side as the platform partially crumbles into the water.

Trig steps further back into the tunnel and starts summoning more aid.

So the priestess is standing ON the water's surface, right? Or hovering?

.

She's currently water walking.

Lyr took another shot at the last drow.

Attack Priestess with Longbow, point blank, inspired: 1d20 + 6 + 1 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 6 + 1 + 2 = 12
Damage, point blank, inspired, hate: 1d8 + 3 + 1 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 3 + 1 + 2 + 1 = 11

That's probably not going to be good enough. >.<

"They carry news that must get through,
To build a dream for me and you."

Zoso continues his performance passionately. He steadies himself this time and only fires one focused arrow at the woman.

Point Blank: 1d20 + 8 + 2 ⇒ (12) + 8 + 2 = 22
Damage: 1d8 + 3 + 1 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 3 + 1 + 2 = 12

I'm starting to think this Drow woman is seducing Zoso with her arrow dancing hips, throwing his aim off juuust enough every time.

.

Actually the 22 hits!

Zoso's arrow finds its mark, drawing a yelp of dismay from the drow woman, who now realizes that despite having killed one member of the party, she has five more to contend with and is now just waiting to become a pincushion. Snarling, Saphren whips a dagger at the drow that just -barely- misses. Magnus, having finished loading his crossbow, fires an enormous bolt! Again, like the dagger it barely misses.

Attack: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (12) + 9 = 21 Damage: 1d4 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 4 = 7
Attack: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (16) + 5 = 21 Damage: 2d6 ⇒ (2, 2) = 4

The drow then rushes along the water's edge, realizing that she can't stand there and continue as a pincushion fro the party. She leaps at a lower platform, clambering up.

Climb: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (14) + 5 = 19

The drow is now out of the water and onto a platform! Everyone is up!

Round Six:

Magnus
Lyr
Saphren
Trig
Zoso (4 dmg) (poisoned, 1 save)

Orca (14 dmg) (holding)
Shiindira (19 dmg)

Trig completes her spell and a trio of gleaming, crystalline eagles pops into existence, and all of them shriek and chase the drow priestess.

1d3 ⇒ 3
eagle 1 talon: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7
eagle 2 bite: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (18) + 3 = 21
eagle 3 talon: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (17) + 3 = 20
eagle 1 damage: 1d4 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 2 + 1 = 4
eagle 2 damage: 1d4 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 2 + 1 = 7
eagle 3 damage: 1d4 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 2 + 1 = 7

The eagles are between 5 and 10 ft up and someone can get under them to attack the priestess.

Trig uses speak with animals and begins calling to the whale. "Your mistress is going to die. If you leave without hurting any more of us, you can survive!" Tears are streaming down her cheeks, but she knows that the animal is not to blame for this -- the evil dark elf is.

.

Trig's Diplomacy: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (13) + 6 = 19

The priestess shrieks as she is attacked on all sides by the eagles, although none manage to damage her she is certainly upset by them. Trig's words seem to have an impact on the whale, who responds.

Huzzah!

Zoso carries on buffing the group with his strange tales,
"They choose the path where no-one goes.
They hold no quarter. They ask no quarter!"

Following suit with that worked, Zoso notches a single arrow determined for precision.

Point Blank: 1d20 + 8 + 1 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 8 + 1 + 2 = 14 Damage: 1d8 + 3 + 1 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 3 + 1 + 2 = 7

He let's it fly though in a sorry wobbly state, to his dismay.

Another arrow followed Lyr's last, adjusting his aim.
