Magnus Ironfoot |
Magnus will increase his Con to 20. I've been taking the average thus far but if you don't mind me taking a gamble for a change I might roll... HP: 1d10 + 6 ⇒ (9) + 6 = 15 (for 51 total hp)
+1 Con
+1 BAB (+4 BAB, power attack boost)
+1 Fort Save
+1 Rank (Knowledge History - class skill with Forge Guardian trait)
+1 Rank Swim
+1 Bonus Feat: (Cleaving Finish)
I should really have taken Steel Soul by now, to make Magnus that veritable defensive rock I had envisioned. But I might put it off until spellcasters are a little more common.
Trig Glittergold |
Cleaving finish seems like a really circumstantial thing... it's your character, but I bet you could do some real damage with Improved Sunder or Improved bull rush, considering you already get a bonus from your archetype.
Twigs |
I tend to shy away from the Improved Manuever feats now that they're split into improved/greater. The meaningful bonus for most of them (sans avoiding the AoO, which in Magnus' case is just going to make it easier for Saphren to get into a flank) and most of the real benefits are a part of the greater feat.
I'd rather shore up my CMB with weapon focus, potions of heroism, magic items and a decent strength score, as well as my archetype.
Does cleaving finish really seem such a bad choice? It specifies another opponent within reach, not adjacent to the other opponent like PF Core Cleave. Enlarged with the 10ft. reach I'd gain I threaten a lot of squares, and those extra attacks can be used to trip and incapacitate. Extra attacks are nothing to sneeze at.
Trig Glittergold |
Huh, I guess it does at that. I thought it had the same restrictions as normal cleave.

Everyone, I'm so sorry it has taken me so long to get back. If you will still have me I have adjusted Blossom to 4th level.
Blossom will increase her Int to 20.
+1 Int (Doctor, do I apply the additional skill point & spell known retroactively? That would give me three more in addition to the new skill points from this level.
+1 level Witch (Favored Class)
Hit die: 1d6 ⇒ 3 +1 Favored Class
+1 BAB (2 BAB)
+1 Will Save
+1 1st level spell per day
+1 2nd level spell per day
+1 Rank Diplomacy
+4 Ranks Intimidate
+1 Rank Knowledge (Arcana)
+1 Rank Spellcraft
Gain Calm Emotions as a patron spell & False Life and Fog Cloud as spells gained from level.
White Hair now has 10' reach, Blossom may attempt a combat maneuver to trip as a free action with a successful White Hair attack.
Trig Glittergold |
Standard Pathfinder rules are that one does apply skill points and languages retroactively, but not spells in spellbooks.

Welcome back to the game. Hope things are squared away enough that you can stick around for a while.
Thank you, I hope so too. I double checked & it appears that I never properly pared down my Languages known initially, as I now have exactly the number I should have considering my race, Intelligence & expenditure of skill Ranks on Linguistics...
I will be putting the remaining three skill points into Knowledge (local)Trig Glittergold |
Nice loot!
Although Saphren has proficiency in the hand crossbow, I'd suggest we sell it because it's not that useful a weapon except to deliver poison, and poison is too expensive unless someone crafts it, and really the only useful classes for crafting poisons are ninjas, alchemists and investigators.
The chainmail would be usable by either Reva or Magnus, but would help Reva the most.
Spider climb slippers would help any of us really, likewise the featherfall ring, but we could sell them if we'd rather have the cash.
Saphren |
Looks like we have 5 vials of poison as well, but I am fine selling the hand crossbow. Sapphire can put poison on other weapons...
I am NOT for selling the ring or slippers and would love the slippers.
DM DoctorEvil |
Added all the found loot to the Loot Tracker. I normally don't keep items that are assigned to a PC for use there, instead recording them on their character sheets.
Can we say definitively that Reva gets the chainmail? Or was that just a reaction to her near-death experience?
What about the other items? Keep or sell. If keep, who takes them for use?
There appear to be a number of other items still needing to be appraised, so next down time (which should be coming up soon) you may want to get some rolls in. You should also have time to turn that loot into ready cash coming up soon.
Bú nìng yīng huā jié |
I am definitely in favor of our secondary tank having the best ac possible. I do think we should sell the crossbow. I have no particular designs on the other items, although the thought of Blossom attacking foes from the ceiling does have its appeal.
Saphren |
Seems everyone wants the slippers. They are quite nice. Perhaps they can even be shared, based on what we are doing at any given time. There is not attunement time so they could be used by all of us, in turn to scale a cliff.
Saphren is the most likely to fall in a pit as the scout so he might want to wear the ring too. But that can be shared as well if we need to share it. What else do we have to identify?
Saphren |
Consulting the loot list - its items that are not yet "appraised". They are:
1 Diamond Dust
2 Glue
3 Perfume
4 Coffer
Appraise 1: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (20) + 6 = 26
Appraise 2: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (5) + 6 = 11
Appraise 3: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (19) + 6 = 25
Appraise 4: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (7) + 6 = 13
DM DoctorEvil |
The diamond dust appraises at 200gp, and looks to be used on the saw like instrument in the excavation chamber in order to cut through the Cyphergate stone.
The perfume itself is pungent, and not pleasant smelling, a little like sweaty socks. The glass vial is worth 5 gp.
From the discussion above, I will be assigning the chain mail to Reva, and the ring and slippers to Saphren. (He already had the quiet moving slippers, so he'll have to choose which he wears...).
As far as the Loot Tracker goes, once items are assigned to people I try to take them off the page, leaving only the items you plan to sell. Can you verify the items that have names by them, and that you want that item, and have it recorded on your character sheet?
Thanks for helping clean the list up a bit.
Saphren |
If Saphren is taking the Slippers lets give the ring to Magnus. Thinking about it, most falls are the result of a failed reflex save and reflex is Saphren's best save (+9 atm). Of course you can also get pushed off something, but his CMD is pretty good as well (21), since he is a strength/dex character.
Saphren |
So the drow was actually cutting the cypher gate… I wonder what that is about. Can't be good.
Can the poison be appraised? Would that be an alchemy check? I am betting its drow sleep poison.

Let's say DC 15 Alchemy, DC 20 Know Nature to ID.
There are still a few items from earlier in the adventure that need appraising if you choose to spend some time on that before selling.

What convention? I'll be at Con Nooga next weekend, (26th-1st). And I plan to go to Mid South Con in Memphis. So I a hitting two cons in your state.
DM DoctorEvil |
PurpleBunnyCon in Murfreesboro TN, first ever. Our local VL (Purple Fluffy CatBunnyGnome obviously) is putting it together, and I am running a few games, and playing a few.
It's going to be small (just a 3-5 tables per session it appears) but its a start.
Link is here if you are desperate for a drive to middle TN and our crappy frozen tundra weather.
Saphren |
I have played, or am currently playing everything offered. Plus, with plans for two cons 4 weeks I am dangerously low on wife points.
Consider Mid South Con. I have been before and think its a well run event. Judge 2 slots and get 40.00 bucks off your badge. Three slots and its free (but its only 45.00 total so that last slot only saves you 5.00). They still need a few judges.
Saphren |
I am traveling to a small con where I will help run Pathfinder this weekend. Leaving tomorrow afternoon and will be gone through late Sunday. Wanted to give a heads up.
Reva Meirani |
I'm going to assume the loot tracker is good to go (thanks Doc!).
The total value of everything on there is 3384.25, not counting the unappraised items. Is there anything on there someone wants to conclusively claim? Reva doesn't want any of it.
Appraise Ruby Earring: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (15) + 2 = 17
Appraise Mother of Pearl Snuff Box: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5
Appraise Glue: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (19) + 2 = 21
Appraise Coffer: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (16) + 2 = 18

[dice=Appraise Ruby Earring]1d20+2
[dice=Appraise Mother of Pearl Snuff Box]1d20+2
[dice=Appraise Glue]1d20+2
[dice=Appraise Coffer]1d20+2
Updated the estimated values and confirmed values for that which Reva knows.
I hear one vote to sell the rest with no claims - will anyone else move so, will sell it when a majority decides. Make individual claims if you want any of it.

Seconding selling off what remains of the loot. I didn't see anything in the list that was that appealing to me.
As Comprehend Languages is a Witch spell as well, Blossom will put part of her share into a scroll of it & then go ahead & learn it. I will admit i skimmed through the posts to get up to date, does the dark elf not speak Elven?
