Huh. I never thought about that. I always assumed that charges were full round actions. I didn't know about that exception. However, it may be my lack of experience when it comes to moving as a large creature, but it doesn't look like I could reach them. It looks like that the blue drow is 3 squares away from where Mutt would be.

I'm not casting one of my most powerful spells so it'll only hit two people. It appears there's been some miscommunication and pushing, since I thought the plan was to draw them out first. But I can manage. As long as the group forms a line and doesn't start getting mixed in with our enemies, I can deal. And if not, I can still deal.

Gunryn is finally the one to start the fight off. His arrow soars in, thumping into the drow in the front as Fiona bursts into song! The rest of the group prepare their spells, while Thaddeus gets ready to drop a confusion spell into the group.

The soldiers scream in confusion, and Thaddeus is the one who notices two other drow start to sneak out, trying to gain a flank. That's the four drow he needs. Thaddeus quickly chants a spell, and three of the drow begin howling and babbling like maniacs!

You didn't specify which drow are confused, but I don't think it really matters to Variel at this point. Whoever he attacks is going to attack him back anyway. ;-)

Once all the preparation is done, the group bursts into action. Listening to the sound of Fiona's song, Variel races in behind Grunyn's arrow, coming to a sudden halt that adds a little extra kick to the crack of his whip.

Taking a quick step to his left, Grunyn lets loose two more arrows, these aimed at the orange Drow.

Variel charges in, and one babbling drow is killed instantly as he wraps his whip around its next, yanking hard to break it. Mutt also moves in, and downs the second skirmisher who managed to resist the confusion spell. Gunryn raises his bow and with his target dead, focuses on the next target in line, but both arrows miss.

Thaddeus hustles up to the front line, rather boldly. Along the way, he casts a spell that requires some preparation.

Move up 30 feet, and cast Adhesive Spittle, since it's a separate action to spit the glob.

Allowing Mutt and Lusk to drive the point of the fight, Fiona hangs back and continues singing. A drow steps out of the back, and his garb indicates that he is a sorcerer. Snarling, he sends a small ball of fire flying into the middle of the group. Yo know what happens next.

Blistering heat goes off behind Thaddeus, attacking the back line. Everyone is badly burned, except for Old Horn who lets out a belat before diving behind a pillar. The two drow soldiers in the front are useless under the throes of Thaddeus' spell. One has started hammering his face with his longsword while the other just babbles.

Afetr the fireball goes up and Keanu moves in, the last drow steps out from the shadows - a captain. She points at Mutt, chanting to her dark God. The enormous warrior feels his limbs stiffen!

Mutt must make a DC 16 will save or be paralyzed! He can then re-take his action. Everyone but Keanu is up!

Variel watches the Captain as she steps out and casts her spell, and curses his lack of arcane knowledge as he fails to identify what she is doing. Unable to do anything to help Mutt directly, he decides to go for the source.

Thaddeus does his best to shield himself from the fireball. Not very well. But he's made of sterner stuff, and pats out the flames before looking at the new foes.

Then he sees the spell go off, and Mutt stops moving. Thinking quickly, Thaddeus remembers something he has in his pouch that could be useful for just this situation. It'll take time, but anything to get Mutt back into the fray should be worth it.

MOVE: Move up beside Mutt.
STANDARD: Retrieve a Potion of Remove Paralysis from my Handy Haversack. Safe to assume I'll need to find a way to get up to Mutt's eye level to give it to him, but I have a solution to that.

I think he removed them when the darkness was cast, and hasn't been back to update since I did the daylight -- which technically doesn't dispel the darkness (since I couldn't see the object it was cast on), but overlaps with it, leaving whatever lighting conditions would otherwise be there.

Mutt charges in, swinging blindly. The captain is no longer there. As Variel's light floods the room, it becomes clear the the horny arcanist, however, is in range. Mutt's axe crunches into the drow, almost killing him on the spot. Clutching his bleeding torso, he fires a pair of scorching rays at Mutt. The rays take Mutt full in the face, badly burning the mighty barbarian.

One soldier continues beating his head against a wall while the other seems to regain his senses momentarily. He swings at Fiona who easily parries the attack.

Mutt takes 46 damage from a scorching ray crit! Lusk is up!

I got skipped last time, but it's not going to change; Grunyn needs to heal himself.

On that note, I'll eat the first damage from the fireball, and Mutt only takes 23 damage that round from the ray; Grunyn takes the other 23. However, since we will be fighting casters, I want to remind you that Grunyn has SR 13; it's small chance of failure on their part, but I'll take everything I can get if we're getting hit like that.

As the energies from his Shield Other spell wash some of the damage from Mutt to Grunyn, the Dwarf grunts, and, taking a few steps to center himself, throws a palm to his chest, waves of healing energy emanating into him.

Well, at least a few. The magic of the Shield transferred burns across large portions of the Dwarf, and his beard is nearly gone, with blisters already forming across his face.

Shielding her eyes against the daylight spell from Variel, the captain whips out at his feet, desperate to disable the very immediate threat against her. However, a neat vertical leap avoids the whip.

I, uh... I didn't get to go last round, either. Eh, I'll just take a double move to begin with and say that was my last action.

Thaddeus sees the Arcanist, bleeding as badly as he is, is still moving. After that nasty fire bolt, it seems a prudent plan to keep him occupied. But first, a little hillbilly stink-eye towards the Captain.

Variel pronounces the captain's judgement, and with a resounding crack of the whip, sends her to her grave. Grunyn takes a moment to heal the massive amount of damage he's absorbed from Mutt, but is still just really sore. The remaining drow, despite their resolve to fight for the death, shriek and cower before Mutt's incredible gaze.
