F Human Shoanti [AC: 23/12 tch/21 ff; HP 83/95; Frt +9, Ref +5, Will +13; Perc +19/21 vs creatures] Cleric 10, Init:+1, Diplo +8, Heal +15, Sense Motive +15

Cadas as her excitement dies, and as the battle lust fades from her finally registers Mirela's introduction. She looks up from the goblin she is examining and adds Ah, sorry. I get distracted when goblins start slicing me up. My name is Cadas, follower of Gozreh. Pleased to meet you.

M Human Fighter (Brawler) 5 / MOMS 1 | HP 50/55 | AC 20/13/18 | F +7 R +5 W +4 (+2 vs. Sleep, Paralysis, Stun, +1 vs.Fear) | Init +2 | Perc +4, SM +4

Barek walks up to the others who helped end the goblin chaos. "Good fight, but nasty little buggers. I'm Barek. Ameiko hired me to look after things during the festival. I might have earned my pay today."

F Human Rogue (Acrobat) 6 | AC 17 T 14 FF 13 | HP 44/44 | F +4, R +9, W +5 | Init +5 | Perc. +9

Grinning devilishly, Mirela winks at the burly warrior "Well I suppose we all earned a cut in that case..." pausing a moment, Miri gauges Barek's reaction to her teasing before continuing "Well Barek, Cadas, Ekan, charmed to make your acquaintance, though I wish the circumstances were better." After a quick curtsy, Mirela turns her attention in the direction Bert ran off in "I think we should follow after Bert, there may be more trouble yet by the sounds of it." Drawing her rapier again, Mirela follows after Bert in a light jog and steels herself for possibly more action.

At least Bert is easy for you longshanks to catch up with :-).

Male Human Monk-6 (HP: 49/56; AC 19, 18t, 16ff; F+7,R+7,W+8)

Ekan nods swift agreement, "Yes, well done all.... and let's see if Bert was right about there being more goblins." He heads off in the direction the halfling went.

F Human Shoanti [AC: 23/12 tch/21 ff; HP 83/95; Frt +9, Ref +5, Will +13; Perc +19/21 vs creatures] Cleric 10, Init:+1, Diplo +8, Heal +15, Sense Motive +15

Ekan, before you go, can I get a quick detect magic on this Warchanter?

Male Human Monk-6 (HP: 49/56; AC 19, 18t, 16ff; F+7,R+7,W+8)

"Certainly." Ekan casts detect magic as he takes another glance over the warchanter's body.

If it matters...
Spellcraft: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (13) + 8 = 21 +2 with Evocation items, -5 on Necromancy/Enchantment

Barek laughs at Mirela's suggestion. "And here I thought you were working for free!" He smiles. "I like you. I might be able to get you a job if you're really looking, but you'd better show me you can use that sword. Luckily Bert over there has a nose for goblins, it would seem. Let's see what other trouble they're causing."

Barek follows Bert trying to see what other mayhem there is.

F Human Shoanti [AC: 23/12 tch/21 ff; HP 83/95; Frt +9, Ref +5, Will +13; Perc +19/21 vs creatures] Cleric 10, Init:+1, Diplo +8, Heal +15, Sense Motive +15

The clues may be here.Cadas explains as she continues to look.

The Warchanter has 20 gold pieces, a short bow with 20 arrows, a whip, and studded leather armor, all sized for a small creature.

There is also a potion on her body that radiates a onjuration aura. Ekan recognizes it as a potion of Cure Light Wounds.

As Bert and the others begin running to the aid of the town, a loud commotion can be heard coming from the north. A dog is barking wildly while a man screams somewhere in the distance.

F Human Shoanti [AC: 23/12 tch/21 ff; HP 83/95; Frt +9, Ref +5, Will +13; Perc +19/21 vs creatures] Cleric 10, Init:+1, Diplo +8, Heal +15, Sense Motive +15

Hoping for some clue as to the goblin's mission and not finding any, Cadas will grab what is valuable. When she hears the commotion to the north she will head that way.

Bert heads north as best he can, carrying an arrow nocked and ready to fire.

Male Human Monk-6 (HP: 49/56; AC 19, 18t, 16ff; F+7,R+7,W+8)

"A healing potion, not very powerful.," Hearing the noise, he nods to Cadas and helps her scoop things up before running after Bert and the others.

M Human Fighter (Brawler) 5 / MOMS 1 | HP 50/55 | AC 20/13/18 | F +7 R +5 W +4 (+2 vs. Sleep, Paralysis, Stun, +1 vs.Fear) | Init +2 | Perc +4, SM +4

"Come on you louts! Trouble to the north!" Barek breaks into a run, following Bert towards the sound of yelling and general commotion.

As you all head north towards Sandpoint's north gate, just east of the White Deer tavern, you arrive just in time to witness a gruesome scene. A goblin, riding an ugly, hairless dog of sorts, has lopped off the head of the barking dog you heard previously. A man, dressed in fine noble's clothes, is cowering behind a rain barrel. He lets out a cry as his faithful companion drops to the ground.

Three other goblins, themselves cowering in fear (presumably from the defending canine), emerge from hiding and begin cheering over the corpse of the dead dog. The goblins seem too busy celebrating to notice any of you emerging from the south.

I'll have the actual combat ready to go later tomorrow. This week has been way busier than I anticipated, and so I still need to finish the map for this encounter. Thanks for being patient with me, and things should be back to a regular posting routine once this combat starts moving.

Barek advances on the four goblins, yelling at them. "What the hell did you do you to that poor dog?! You little pathetic troublemakers! Come try that on someone bigger!"

Move 20' towards the goblins. No grid, so just move 3N, 1NE.

Where's the mounted goblin? If Bert can see it, he'll take his shot at the hairless dog.

Surprise Round:

The halfling takes a short step forward (5' step north), calls on his luck (swift action), and fires.

Attack on dog or eastern goblin, incl. luck: 1d20 + 3 + 1 ⇒ (7) + 3 + 1 = 11

Sorry for the delayed post, been a crazy few days at work. Hope you don't mind Sloth, but I put some co-ordinates to help with the battle.

Mirela taking the initiative moves as quickly and quietly as possible to an advantageous position for the battle, rapier drawn and ready.

Move 30' V11 -> Q8

Stealth attempt: 1d20 + 3 + 3 + 1 ⇒ (7) + 3 + 3 + 1 = 14

Round 1 with Coordinates

Male Human Monk-6 (HP: 49/56; AC 19, 18t, 16ff; F+7,R+7,W+8)

Ekan comes up behind, slower than the others, and sees the horrific sight before him. It makes him angry. He moves just a bit north, where Bert was, and then fires another force bolt to strike not at the goblin who is riding, but rather the beast it rides. Maybe he can cause it to buck, or whatever.

I guess with the highest initiative, I go again. I'm not sure if they're considered flat-footed or not, so I'll include the sneak attack damage if applicable.

Hoping to still have the element of surprise, Mirela moves in to striking range. She says little, but has a look of grim determination as she rounds on the nearest Goblin.

Move 10' Q8 -> P8

Attack roll on Goblin 2: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5

Damage if applicable: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 1 = 6

Sneak Attack if applicable: 1d6 ⇒ 3

Good lord, I think I have yet to roll above 6 on a d20

Surprise Round Recap

  • Mirela advances forward.
  • Bert fires an arrow at the goblin’s mount (J12) and hits!
  • Barek advances forward.
  • Cadas prepares a Storm Burst on any approaching goblins.
  • Ekan unleashes a force bolt which hits successfully hits the mount.

GM:
1d20 + 9 ⇒ (15) + 9 = 24

The dog rears a bit after both hits, but the goblin leader has no trouble staying in his saddle. The creature looks badly wounded.

I didn't actually mean for the dice roll to say 'Charge'. I had typed it, but then realized the in-game implication. So Barek is not actually 'charging'.

Round 1:

Bert moves up another 5' to M-19 and looses a second arrow at the dog. This time, his shot goes over the dog's head, as he attempts to avoid hitting any of his compatriots.

Attack on dog (incl. lingering luck): 1d20 + 3 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 3 + 1 = 10

Male Human Monk-6 (HP: 49/56; AC 19, 18t, 16ff; F+7,R+7,W+8)

Ekan races closer as he can feel his arcane reserves dwindling, and flings another forcebolt at the dog thing.

Move to M18.
Forcebolt again: 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4
Only two more of those I can do today.

F Human Rogue (Acrobat) 6 | AC 17 T 14 FF 13 | HP 44/44 | F +4, R +9, W +5 | Init +5 | Perc. +9

My apologies, I guess I jumped the gun with my last post... didn't think to keep the surprise round separate. I'll be doing the same action as last I think though. Should I redo my round 1 action? If possible, I'd like to move Mirela to K15 as opposed to H15.

No problem!

F Human Rogue (Acrobat) 6 | AC 17 T 14 FF 13 | HP 44/44 | F +4, R +9, W +5 | Init +5 | Perc. +9

Great! In my second to last post I made an attack roll for round #1 which missed miserably. I think with that, we've all made our round #1 actions correct?

Round 1, Init. 14

Goblin #1 takes a 5’ step (L13) and, surprise in his eyes, takes a wild swing at Barek.

Attack: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (12) + 2 = 14
Damage: 1d4 ⇒ 4

Goblin #2 also takes a 5’ step (K14) and slices at Mirela, letting out a shrill cry as he swings.

Attack: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (9) + 2 = 11
Damage: 1d4 ⇒ 4

Goblin #3 moves (I13 -> K13) and tries to bring down the intimidating longshanks known as Barek.

Attack: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6
Damage: 1d4 ⇒ 3

----------------------------------

Round 1, Init. 9

The goblin raid leader sheaths his long blade, known amongst goblins as a “horse chopper,” and draws a shortbow. He orders his “dog” to stay and defend in Goblin.

----------------------------------

Ekan’s second force missile finishes the beast once and for all.

GM:
1d20 + 9 ⇒ (3) + 9 = 12

The commando is quick to react and, despite his mount crashing to the ground, is able to land safely on his feet.

Round 2

Mirela . . . . . 25
Bert . . . . . 22
Barek . . . . . 21
Cadas . . . . . 15
Goblins . . . . . 14
Commando . . . . . 9
Ekan . . . . . 7

Deflecting the Goblin's attack, Mirela continues to press the attack and strikes with her Rapier.

Attack roll vs Goblin #2: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7

Damage roll if applicable: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 1 = 7

Round 2, Init 15

Cadas will advance to directly behind Mirela and try to hit the Commando with her Storm Burtst ability.

Range Touch - Storm Burst: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (15) + 2 = 171d6 ⇒ 3

2 of 6 Storm Bursts used. Commando has -2 to his attacks until my turn again

M Human Fighter (Brawler) 5 / MOMS 1 | HP 50/55 | AC 20/13/18 | F +7 R +5 W +4 (+2 vs. Sleep, Paralysis, Stun, +1 vs.Fear) | Init +2 | Perc +4, SM +4

Barek winds up and tries to deliver a real haymaker of a punch to the goblin.

Power Attack #1: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (17) + 5 = 22
Damage: 1d3 + 6 ⇒ (1) + 6 = 7

HP 107*/107* | AC 32| T 16| FF 28| CMD 14| Fort +14*| Ref +22| Will +15 (+2 vs. fear, neg energy effects)| Init +4 (+2 underground)| Perc +29/+34 w/lens (+2 underground)| Sense Motive +20 Male Halfling Archaeologist Bard15/Mysterious Stranger Gunslinger1/Inspired Blade Swashbuckler1

Round 2:

Bert moves to his left to I-19 and takes another shot at the commando; this one goes wide, as well. [i]Good thing they're not counting on me. I need some practice at this![/ooc]

Arrow to goblin, incl. lingering luck: 1d20 + 3 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 3 + 1 = 9

Male Human Monk-6 (HP: 49/56; AC 19, 18t, 16ff; F+7,R+7,W+8)

Init 7, Mage Armor still up
Ekan moves closer while still using the main combatants as cover, searching for a clear shot at the commander who seems the only one not engaged in melee.
Going to L 16 I think.
He flings a ray of frost at the commander.
POint blank feat and Evoker specalist bonus counted in
Ranged Touch: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2
dmg if that hits: 1d3 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4

Round 2, Init. 14

Goblin #1 crumples from Barek’s mighty blow, and is no longer breathing.

Goblin #2 shrieks from his companion’s death, and decides to attack Mirela instead of the terrifying unarmed brawler.

Attack: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (9) + 2 = 11
Damage: 1d4 ⇒ 4

Goblin #3 is a little more brave, and swings his blade at Barek.

Attack: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (7) + 2 = 9
Damage: 1d4 ⇒ 2

----------------------------------

Round 2, Init. 9

The commando, looking visibly distracted from the buffeting winds summoned by Cadas, takes his shortbow, moves 5 feet (I12) and fires a shot at the Shoanti woman that harmed him.

Attack vs. Cadas: 1d20 + 5 - 2 ⇒ (6) + 5 - 2 = 9
Damage: 1d4 ⇒ 2

Unfortunately, Ekan fires his ray and misses by a wide margin - Who knew Goblins would be so nimble?

Barek . . . . . 21
Cadas . . . . . 15

Heading out of town, so I'll post now, but if Mirela decides to flank for her sneak attack and kills goblin #2, apply this to goblin #3.

Barek smiles as he sees the first goblin fall to his fist. He motions to the slim girl to step over and surround another goblin. Then he drives his fist forward at it.

Attack #2, unless it's already dead, then #3
Power Attack: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (18) + 5 = 23 possible +2 for flanking

F Human Rogue (Acrobat) 6 | AC 17 T 14 FF 13 | HP 44/44 | F +4, R +9, W +5 | Init +5 | Perc. +9

Bert sidesteps to J-19 and launches another arrow at the leader. This one is on target, but the wily goblin is able to twist at the last second so that the shaft glances off his armor. Unfortunately for him, that puts him off-balance when the charging Shoanti shaman arrives, and he fails to dodge her blow.

Attack on commando, incl. luck: 1d20 + 3 + 1 ⇒ (10) + 3 + 1 = 14
