Round 2:

27+25/27+25 hp; AC 25/13/22; CMD 20

Seeing what the beast has done to Kevin, 'Aldous' lays into it, hoping to bring it down quickly, with a flurry of kicks and punches...

Claw #1: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (7) + 7 = 14, for 1d6 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 4 = 7 Magical S/B damage.

Claw #2: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (4) + 7 = 11, for 1d6 + 4 ⇒ (6) + 4 = 10 Magical S/B damage.
Claw #3: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (19) + 7 = 26, for 1d6 + 4 ⇒ (6) + 4 = 10 Magical S/B damage.
Claw #4: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (14) + 7 = 21, for 1d6 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 4 = 8 Magical S/B damage.

Grand Lodge

Round 1:
Kevin and Aldous both miss with their attacks. Galadan prepares for the next round by casting true strike. Nym helps Aldous by boosting his Dexterity (Cat's Grace).

Andrea still to act.

Round 2:

Kevin 21
Nym 19
Wren 18
Aldous 13 + 1 + 2 = 16 - already acted
Flesh Golem Hound 16
Galadan 11
Andrea 5

Waiting for Andrea before doing any actions with Nym and the Hound as well as revealing the result from Aldous attacks.

Female Human (Mixed race) Hedge Witch 5 (favoured class)

At first taken aback by the sudden appearance of the construct Andrea recovers quickly and casts a Cure Spell on Kevin (lose Web to do spontaneous casting)

Cure Moderate wounds2d8 + 4 ⇒ (8, 5) + 4 = 17

Grand Lodge

Wren and Kevin still ahead of the hound in round 2.

Wren reaches around in her pouch to retrieve an object that she didn't think she would need or ever use.

"Uhm, look out!"

Moving up to closer range and open shot, Wren tosses the flask at the creature.

1d20 + 5 - 4 ⇒ (10) + 5 - 4 = 11 ranged touch into combat - alchemist's flask

Attack / Bite 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (11) + 13 = 24 Damage 2d8 + 7 ⇒ (8, 7) + 7 = 22

The Flesh Golem Hound ignores Aldous and his feeble attempts against him completely. He keeps mauling Kevin.

Nym delays his action and Galadan shoots a +1 bolt into the beast.

1d20 + 3 + 20 - 4 ⇒ (13) + 3 + 20 - 4 = 32 Damage 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2

Nym delays his action.

Grand Lodge

Summary round 2:

Kevin tries a wild swing but misses completely.
Wren follows with an Alchemist fire but Aldous and Kevin prevent her from an otherwise sure hit.
Aldous/Hastur pummels the Hound. He is rewarded as his claws strike the beast twice. But even his sharp claws have trouble to fully penetrate the hide of the beast (DR 5/adamantine)
In return the Hound mauls Kevin. The proud fighter goes down - heavily bleeding.

Nym steps forward and drags him 5 foot back - out of the immediate reach of the hound.

The hound seems to lose interest in Kevin. It's single eye focuses on Hastur instead. The lack of any emotion as it turns his head around and focuses with his single eye on Aldous makes it even more frightening.

Galadan shoots his bolt - taking advantage of the gap that has opened. His bolt hits but seems unable to penetrate.

Andrea still to act.

Kevin down and bleeding, 5 foot out of the doorway
Flesh Golem -8 HP

Wren - the doorway is barely 10 feet wide with both Kevin and Aldous in the way when you lobbed the Alchemist Fire. I therefore added cover for the hound. I didn't roll where it ended up - just assume it went into the courtyard.

Female Human (Mixed race) Hedge Witch 5 (favoured class)

Andrea casts a second Cure spell on the badly mauled Kevin.

Give up Summon Swarm for Cure Moderate wounds.

"We cant fight this thing...RUN!!!" she yells dragging Kevin to his feet

CMW 2d8 + 4 ⇒ (1, 8) + 4 = 13

Seriously..a Flesh Golem vs a low combat power 4th level party????!!!! I have no spells that can harm it..and our damage output is negligible.

Kevin jumps to his feet, rage in his eyes as he throws himself at the dog monster. "You run! I will follow!

Power Attack:1d20 + 8 ⇒ (20) + 8 = 28
Confirm Crit 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (14) + 8 = 22

Damage: 1d8 + 10 ⇒ (3) + 10 = 13
Crit damage: 1d8 + 10 ⇒ (8) + 10 = 18

Grand Lodge

Kevin throws himself back at the creature. His sword cuts deeply into the hound, opening up a large wide cut that leaves half it's body open.

Any ordinary dog would have died instantly from such a blow. Even the Flesh Golem hounds looks badly wounded after this onslaught.

Flesh Golem Hound -34 HP (>50%)

Round 3:

27+25/27+25 hp; AC 25/13/22; CMD 20

"Keep that up, Kevin."

Following Kevin's example, 'Aldous' again unleashes a flurry of blows on the construct...

Claw #1: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (15) + 7 = 22, for 1d6 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 4 = 7 Magical S/B damage.
Claw #2: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (3) + 7 = 10, for 1d6 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 4 = 8 Magical S/B damage.
Claw #3: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (12) + 7 = 19, for 1d6 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 4 = 7 Magical S/B damage.
Claw #4: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (13) + 7 = 20, for 1d6 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 4 = 8 Magical S/B damage.

Wren cheers at Kevin and Mr. Hastur make dents into the beast.

Wren move close to Mr. Hastur, touching him on the shoulder and offering words of encouragement.

"Hit it hard, dearie."

Wren will touch Hastur again with Diviner's Fortune. (Diviner's Fortune: +2 (8/day) (Sp) Creature touched gains +2 to attack rolls, skill checks, ability checks, and saving throws for 1r. 1/8 used today.)

ALL your attack rolls, Hastur. Get 'em!

Alright; make that a 24, a 12, a 21, and a 22 to hit, then :-)

Ah..seems like I hit a nerve there

Going to be out and about today, throwing my next round of attack out there to keep it going until i can get to a computer again.

Being sliced open seems to get the attention from the Flesh Golem Hound. He turns back his attention to Kevin. Sharp teeth once again close on Kevin and he goes down a second time.

Action Nym - grabbing Kevin and getting him out of the danger zone again.

"Are you doing this to impress our Lady Andrea? I guess she prefers you alive. But that was an impressive blow."

Galadan and Andrea still to act.

Grand Lodge

Thanks to Wren - Hastur lands three hits on the beast. Slowly he cuts away part of his flesh and bones start showing.

-6 HP on Kevin if I'm not mistaken

Andrea Greenholt wrote:

Is this the same Andrea who yelled moments ago 'Run'

This was a close shave. One point more in attack and I a critical would have killed Kevin.next action of Kevin will depend on action from Galadan and Andrea. He is currently out again and there is a breach that allows Galadan to step in. Alternativly some more help to prop up Kevin could help.
I will roll targets again and take the dice as they fall.

Male Elf (Current Health 25 / 28) Inquisitor of Pharasma 4 / Urban Ranger (Falconer) 1

Galadan pauses for a moment to determine if he knows anything about the monster's weaknesses.
1d20 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 4 = 8 Only applies to information with a DC 10 check or lower would answer.

Galadan tosses his crossbow aside as he draws his mace, invoking a judgment of destruction, and charges the flesh golem (assuming there's room).

Wren, on her next action, will 'instruct' Mr. Hastur to do that again, touching him on the back.

"Yes, just like I said, Mr. Hastur. Now again!"

Wren will touch Hastur again with Diviner's Fortune. (Diviner's Fortune: +2 (8/day) (Sp) Creature touched gains +2 to attack rolls, skill checks, ability checks, and saving throws for 1r. 2/8 used today.)

I'm so helpful. People wouldn't know how to attack without me.

Wren will 5' step away after the touch.

Round 4:

27+25/27+25 hp; AC 25/13/22; CMD 20

Not needing to be encouraged any further, 'Aldous' continues to slowly and systematically peel the creature's flesh from its bones...

Claw #1: 1d20 + 7 + 2 ⇒ (8) + 7 + 2 = 17, for 1d6 + 4 ⇒ (5) + 4 = 9 Magical S/B damage.

Claw #2: 1d20 + 7 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 7 + 2 = 13, for 1d6 + 4 ⇒ (1) + 4 = 5 Magical S/B damage.

Claw #4: 1d20 + 7 + 2 ⇒ (10) + 7 + 2 = 19, for 1d6 + 4 ⇒ (5) + 4 = 9 Magical S/B damage.

Female Human (Mixed race) Hedge Witch 5 (favoured class)

Andrea lays her healing hex on Kevin....

1d8 + 4 ⇒ (7) + 4 = 11

...then pulls one of her potions out

IC Adrea still thinks running away is agood idea..OOC...YAYYYY KEVIN

Grand Lodge

Round 3 summary:
Kevin - just healed and back on his feet - charges back into the fray despite a shout from Andrea rather to run. His bravery is rewardined with a devastating bow that slices open the hound.
Hastur pummels the hound - rending flesh and weaken it further - helped by Wrens magic.

But he hound isn't down and takes another bite out of Kevin who goes down a second time. Nym pulls him back to safety a second time where he is healed up by Andrea again.

Galadan takes the opportunity to step into Kevin's place and lands a blow on he hound.

Hound -44 HP
Kevin +5 HP

Grand Lodge

Round 4 - Kevin raises up again but sees his path to the beast blocked.

I will keep the roll and action once there is space - someone else goes down. And maybe you have a few more HP by then.

Hastur attacks the beast but can only land a single hit.

Hound:
Berserk roll:
1d100 ⇒ 94

1d2 ⇒ 1

Attack 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (8) + 13 = 21 Damage 2d8 + 7 ⇒ (2, 2) + 7 = 11

The hound turns its attention towards Hastur but fails to hit.

Galadan, Andrea, Nym still to act.

Wow, goes quick right now.

Male Elf (Current Health 25 / 28) Inquisitor of Pharasma 4 / Urban Ranger (Falconer) 1

If possible, Galadan will take a 5 foot step to flank the golem, and swing again at the creature.

Male Elf (Current Health 25 / 28) Inquisitor of Pharasma 4 / Urban Ranger (Falconer) 1

Attack
1d20 + 6 ⇒ (12) + 6 = 18 +2 if flanking

Damage
1d8 + 4 + 2 ⇒ (7) + 4 + 2 = 13 +1d6 ⇒ 5 if flanking

Grand Lodge

Galadan takes a 5 foot step into the court yard - opening up space for Kevin once he is back up.

You reach flanking next round - but it allows three of you to fight. Going into flanking position this round would have triggered an AoO. There is only one draw back - if you go down then there is no easy retrieval as Nym has done with Kevin.
But since Kevin's critical this is a risk likely worthwhile taking.

Female Human (Mixed race) Hedge Witch 5 (favoured class)

Andrea hands Kevin a potion flask.."Drink it" she says with a no nonsense tone in her voice.

Healing1d8 + 4 ⇒ (5) + 4 = 9..it has a distinct cherry taste to it..

Kevin stands and just nods his head as he takes the offered flask and downs it in a quick gulp.
"Medicine! Are you trying to poison me woman?" He grabs up his sword and moves back towards the stitch work dog.

Grand Lodge

Summary round 4

Hastur only manages a glancing hit that does a small scratch.
The hound - attacking Hastur - misses for the first time
Galadan steps into the courtyard but misses
Andrea pours a potion down Kevin's throat
Kevin gathers his sword

Kevin 14HP
Hound -46

Round 5
Kevin returns into the fight and delivers another blow

I used the roll from earlier. I think one round not fighting is justified with all the healing, etc.

Grand Lodge

Round 5:

Kevin 21 acted - -8 HP on hound - at 14 HP
Nym 19
Wren 18
Aldous 16
Flesh Golem Hound 16 - at -54 HP, badly wounded
Galadan 11
Andrea 5

Everyone apart of Kevin can still act in round 5. Galadan can take a 5 foot step to get into flanking with Kevin.

Wren will touch Hastur again with Diviner's Fortune. (Diviner's Fortune: +2 (8/day) (Sp) Creature touched gains +2 to attack rolls, skill checks, ability checks, and saving throws for 1r. 3/8 used today.)

Wren will 5' stop to Mr. Hastur's back and touch him again, foretelling of a better combat round.

Grand Lodge

Aldous still to act before the Flesh Golem hound.

Galadan and Andrea to act after the hound. But feel free to post already. Nym to act as well but I just keep him on reserve unless Nym himself shows up.

Galadan takes a five foot step, as he invokes the judgment of justice, and swings at the hound from a flanking position.

Claw #4: 1d20 + 7 + 2 + 2 ⇒ (16) + 7 + 2 + 2 = 27, for 1d6 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 4 = 7 Magical S/B damage.

1d3 ⇒ 1

Attack bite 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (12) + 13 = 25 Damage 2d8 + 7 ⇒ (4, 4) + 7 = 15

Ignoring anyone else around him - the hound keeps his only eye focussed on Hastur. This time it seems Hastur is unable to avoid the sharp teeth as they grab him when he nearly avoided them.

Summary
The hound gets hit three times by Hastur but most of the damage seems to be ignored. Still, the hound looks worse with every round and is seriously wounded now - hardly keeping together.

Galadan misses by a small margin - unable to land the killing bow.

Andrea still to act in this round. Feel free to do attacks for the next round.

Hound at -59 HP
Kevin +14 HP total
Aldous -15 HP

Sorry if I give HP in different ways but for Kevin I like to keep track to know if an attack takes him down or not. For Aldous I didn't bother to look up his total as he should have 'enough' left.

Round 6:

Assuming Wren 'boosts' me again...

Rounding in fury at the beast for having the temerity to actually strike a blow against him, 'Aldous' tries to rip it apart!

Claw #1: 1d20 + 7 + 2 + 2 ⇒ (8) + 7 + 2 + 2 = 19, for 1d6 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 4 = 6 Magical S/B damage.

I think most my hits against Kevin did beat 30+ - so I don't think I ever really looked closely what his AC really was.

Edit: yes - 31, 32, only 24 and 32 - so I never really looked it up. Interestingly one 18 and 2 19 - just no 20 so far which saved his life.

Will wait for Kevin to see if I have to post with the hound or not.

'Aldous' continues to try to shred the beast...

Claw #4: 1d20 + 7 + 2 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 7 + 2 + 2 = 15, for 1d6 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 4 = 7 Magical S/B damage.

Grand Lodge

Something in the dog seems to snap. Seeing Galadan having entered the court yard it seems to stretch and growl. Spittle appears at the mouth and you have the feeling that only its utter distraction will keep it from mauling and killing Galadan.

The teeth grab Galadans arm and pieces of flesh are tipped out. -13 HP.

Galadan tries in vain to take down the beast - but not being prepared from the savage onslaught he misses by a whisker. Alone in the courtyard he seems the only target now. His friends and comrades suddenly seem far away.

Grand Lodge

But Galadans sacrifice isn't in vain. The beast - concentrating on him - gives Kevin the advantage he needs (flanking +2) to ram the sword into the Hound.

The hound twitches and if there are any doubts if it's down or not then these are laid to rest by Hastur clawing at the hound on the ground until it stops moving.
