My bad, by the way. It seems paladin's smite evil does NOT bypass the incorporeal's stupidass magic requirement. See this.

It appears we have just that one lousy dagger, and even that damage is halved.

I spent the morning looking at that. I figure at the least, the divine energy going into the smite would be effective.

I'm going to be blunt.

The pace in this play-by-post game has been disturbingly slow, and it has started to frustrate me, and deteriorate the quality of my posts. I think it's a high time to make a turn before this turns into a slow snail race where only one post is made a day, each day by a different person. That can only end up in a session that no one looks back to and remembers it for the good things.

I'm trying to alleviate this to the best of my abilities. My post might not be something that tries to drive the game forwards (proactive, I think is the word), but I try to enliven up the roleplay aspect.

In the last few months the number of computer-using adults has gone up to 3 (from 2) and the number of working computers has gone from 5 to 1. And I've been looking for a job when I'm not watching the kids (since my wife has increased her hours to compensate). That's why my posting rate has fallen off.

Another of Blossym's characters is in one of my games. I think he's still away. His wife had a baby which was too early for several weeks. I did not hear anything since then.

That's what I had figured, but didn't want to step on his toes.

I'm very sorry for the absence. However, we're having some complications with my daughter and I'm putting all my attention there. I'm unsure when I'll be able to make the time for gaming in the near future.

I'm GMing at a german PFS convention from Friday to Saturday evening (24h PFS Fight Night) so updates will be very sporadic. Sorry for any inconvenience!

I'm going to assume this mockery of a PbP game is nearing its end, but the participation has been lacking the entire time on everyone's part. I'll ask a fellow PFS GM to finish this display as quickly as possible, so our efforts have not been in vain.

You are quite right. I have been MIA for far too long. In the interest of speeding things towards its conclusion, I will get a post up right now.

I am terribly sorry for my absence. It's not fair to any of you. I do understand if you'd still like another GM to finish you through this.

I admit I've been having a writer's block from late December, so I haven't been active. I've been lacking motivation and energy to put up posts, and not just on this game but all PbPs I'm involved in.

I've been around. I should have been following Painlord's advice to make posts every day regardless of the other players and GM, but I've been content not to.

I'll put a deadline to this sorry game: 18th of April. Because the next day I have a scheduled game where I wish to play with Kuran.

Yes, I told before Kuran was retreating from the scene, since he has no weapons to fight the swarm. I could, of course, just repeat the same line over and over again, right?

EDIT: And it seems others are lacking motivation to post too, so I'm guessing this is a doomed effort anyway.

I think we all agreed on getting away from the swarms.

I thought we all agreed to bombard them with flasks of oil...

Hello everyone. The family responsibilities have finally calmed down. Mom and baby are doing awesome. Isabella is 8 months old and starting to catch up with babies her age.

I just got back to the boards this past week and didn't realize this was still going until Caps posted in the Flaxseed thread!!

It looks like Sior botted me since the baby was born. I'll try to get caught up on reading the play-by-play thread in the next couple of days. If you'll have me, I'd love to try and complete this with you.

That sounds great to me. I hope Sior comes back soon or that we can find a replacement GM. we've got to be almost done

I'm hoping this'll be the much needed inspirational boost this game seriously needs. :)

I try to contain my curiosity, but I'm intrigued what happened back at the hospital? I'm guessing these boards boast a large number of dads, so I'm all about sharing the experience, be it good or bad. Then again, all came out alive and well, it seems.

Yes, everything worked out great. My wife and I are pittle older for new parents. I'm 47 and she's 44. Also she has kidney disease and a few other ailments. What ended up happening was that she became pre-clamptic, which is her blood pressure got very high. She was admitted into the hospital 29 weeks into the pregnancy. The doctors were trying to keep the baby safe but not let my wife go into kidney failure her. She only has one kidney to begin with. The baby was born two weeks later, nine weeks early. My wife stayed in the hospital for another two weeks recovering. The baby was in the neonatal intensive care unit for two months. But she's gaining lots of weight and starting to catch up with kids her own age. So in the end, it's a very happy story!

I've got two kids but there births were both pretty healthy. That sounds like a pretty scary experience! I'm glad everything turned out alright.

Yeah, I only have one daughter but then again I was 27 and my wife 23 when she was born.

I have two older daughters, 16 & 11, from my first marriage. Isabella is my 2nd wife's first child. We're stopping at one!

GM Shifty has offered to finish this up for us if we A) are all on-board with that and B) will post at a better pace than we have for a while now.

He (fairly) criticized us for not doing our part to keep the action moving as often or as well as we should.

Once we've all agreed to move forward, he'll take over.

That is fair, yes. Beginning from February the gaps between messages have been cruelly long, 8 days even. Whenever a new post from GM came, though, there was a surge of posts lasting maybe 24 hours before dying down.

From time to time it's crucial to receive critique, especially in cases like this. I once ran a few PbP games on another site and at some point started to lose interest; the updates became scarce and short. Eventually one player (I knew them personally) spoke up, upset about my lack of commitment. I took it to the heart and got a grip of myself, and continued the game with a much increased posting pace.

Happy to get this module wrapped up for you guys and see things through to completion - it seems to happen from time to time - the peculairties of PbP GM'ing.

I have a long work day today, but will have a read on where you are up to and have a read up on what's next, so I can progress you all in about 24 hours.
In the meantime, I see yu guys are in a bit of a pickle, so can answer any on the spot questions whilst you get yourselves out of the current jam :P

This module is pretty close to the end (which I think you know), just looking ahead, are you guys interested in another scenario (scenario, not module!) following this?
A scenario should take between four and six weeks to complete, and there are several fun ones at the lower tier, especially the older seasons.

I would be down for another scenario.

Crypt of the Everflame is a L1 module.

The following modules complete the series:
Masks of the Living God - L3 (2-4)
City of Golden Death - L5 (4-6)

Both of which are good modules.

I really think I'm going to die down for a while, and end all my current games and not begin new ones until a later time. Thanks for the offer though.

No worries Kuran, I was more putting it to you guys as you were just building momentum, but yeah if you want to just chill out after what looks like a long ride then thats cool.

It would be cool to do the Living God module. We could probably pull in some other players to make up the numbers.

I can fit in a scenario, but that's all I will have space for :) I need to be free as I am gearing up for a multi-table special on the boards and I am both overseer GM and table GM for it, so don't want to still be juggling other commitments.
