Looks like we are waiting on Tonya to recover from Origins, and Andy to post his character?
GM.Silbeg |
No problem. I will get things started today,
GM.Silbeg |
I will get the scene moving as soon as I have time on my laptop. Too many moving parts to set up with my iPad.
Zavra Tuskless |
Do we need to adjust all of our stats whenever we are buffed? Reduce person would effect my Initiative, AC, attack, saves, etc. I can do that, just need to know. My Int based skills are effected dramatically by Cognatogen.
GM.Silbeg |
That would certainly help. What some people will do is create an avatar with everything buffed, so when the buffs are up, they just post with the separate avatar.
Oetherwise, updating your character sheet and stat line would be helpful, else I will never know what they are.
If you aren't using Hero Lab (or even if you are) I would cache out the stat blocks in a google doc or something. Then switching will be easier.
Zavra Tuskless |
How should we be notating where we are moving? I have mentioned it in three separate posts, but am not getting any closer. I get the impression that these figures are supposed to be mobile, but I have no ability to move them myself.
Silbeg |
I did not know you didn't ha eve access to move, I assumed you were moving, sorry..
You should have access to edit the slides, so I assume you are only posting on a phone?
What I would do would be to ask for someone to move your token. Be explicit about that.
I will scroll back and see what I can do in the AM

Quick question -- asked probably too late.
Sounds like we're at APL - 1.5
That could go either way -- do we want to go up or down?
I forgot to check, but this fight doesn't change too much... more beetles could be coming.
I'll need to know going forward, though.
If you don't want to vote in public, please IM/PM/email me.
Thanks!
Note: I need to know by the time the beetles go... I am assuming up.

Up
Little Lya |
Up is fine.
Zavra Tuskless |
Up is good for me.
Bomb damage: 1d6 + 7 (Int 24) + 1 (point blank) + 1 (2/2 favored class bonus) = 10 Splash
GM.Silbeg |
Just a note: Starting on Wednesday, August 3, we'll be taking a break for Gen Con, until Tuesday, August 9.
Just wanted to be up front that this was happening!

24 int at level 1? shame on you :P
Zavra Tuskless |
20 Int at Level 1, +4 on my Cognatogen for 20 min. That is now used for the day, but it sounded like we have some diplomacy plans following, so this was a good time to use it.
Prizm |
Oh absolutely a good choice. I just never played an alchemist - and that is pretty amazing :D
It could also be that I am playing the least effective character I have ever made hehehe.. so call it envy!
Watch that splash damage!
Zavra Tuskless |
Bring it up IC. Zavra gets a little out of control in fights. In Kaer Maga when you get into a fight, only one person survives.
GM.Silbeg |
Ok, guys! We're moving on!
If no one posts, I will be moving you to the ship encounter, as I think that's what you wanted.
GM.Silbeg |
Ok, folks. Let's get moving again... I've set up the scene, need to know what you are doing!
Thank you.
GM.Silbeg |
Ok, guys, I think you've got me a little confused. With you all just jumping in, I think you might have forgotten about planning your caper here.
The goal is to prevent/disrupt the meeting, right?
The first task is to disrupt a meeting between two agents, one each from the Aspis and Kortos consortia. Somehow, a snooping Kortos agent caught wind of my plans, and has set a meeting with an Aspis agent to reveal me and ruin everything. The bad news: I do not know the identity of either agent. The good news: I know that they intend to meet at a tavern called the Overflowing Oyster at noon on Oathday—the day before the shipment of drugs is to leave Diobel. If you can disrupt this meeting, you can prevent the Aspis from taking a closer look at my plans. However, you must be discrete. Killing either agent, or revealing yourselves as Pathfinders meddling in the Aspis’s operations, would only cause them to grow more suspicious. It may help to know that the owner of the Overflowing Oyster is involved in creating fake pearls and selling them on the black market.
Right now, I see the following going on:
Lya, Okzat and Ancel are talking to the barkeep. So far, it has been somewhat undirected banter (though Ancel has brought up the pearls).
Zavra is sitting quietly by herself, trying not to make a scene.
Prizm went from talking to the barkeep, to now bringing in an illusion of a city guard.
Kiv hasn't done anything yet.
At this point, I am not sure what you are trying to do. Perhaps it would be helpful to discuss among yourselves (get a table and talk), and come up with a plan. Roleplay it out. Then, when you have a plan, we'll start moving forward.
This encounter is designed to be a sandbox, so you'll need to drive what will happen by coming up with a plan. I have things I can do once I know what you are trying to do.
Thanks!
Prizm |
Ok so Prizm really can only Bluff..
I brought the guard in to put the guy off kilter.. and mentioned the illegal pearls with the intent that you guys shake him down a bit and encourage him to cancel the meet with the Aspis because the watch knows....
That's my angle.. is it solid? Should we alter it?
GM.Silbeg |
Guys,
if this is confusing, I am sorry.
What I need for you all is to decide on what you want to do, come up with some sort of plan. The mechanics of this scenario are pretty sandboxy.
Think of it as a caper encounter. Once things start moving, I'll determine which rolls that need to be made... (spoilering mechanics in case it will help you and you want to read)
There will be at least three phases of this...
1) Preparation -- this is where you set up the plan. Based on what you want to do, I will call for specific rolls.
2) Enact the Plan -- the plan is going! This will be another set of rolls, at a higher DC
3) Unexpected Twist -- something goes wrong, and you'll have to react to it. Again, a skill check at a higher DC
These are group rolls... and I need a certain amount of successes in a plan, or you'll have to retry (or quickly change the plan in reaction). If enough time passes, you'll either have to let the meeting happen, or resort to violence.
Hope this helps... I cannot go into any more detail than this without totally spoiling the encounter.
But, think of ways that you could prevent the encounter from happening. You've got plenty of clues, really... enough to come up with something.
Example (not saying this will work) -- you could try and tell people that The Oyster has gotten in a bad shipment of oysters, and that people are getting sick eating their food. This would be an attempt to get the place closed down.
You can be as clever as you want... or as brute force.
Hope this helped.

But which guy?
The barkeep who is selling the fake pearls isn't part of the meetup. You've got a pretend guard, but is that going to be enough (if you want that to be the plan, that's fine. I can work with that).
Ancel Le Cerfbeer |
Will be going up north through Sunday night. Both hotel rooms have wi-fi, so I will try to post at least enough to keep things moving if necessary. But I will have very spotty (if any) reception otherwise.
GM.Silbeg |
Would it be easier if I have you all list off all the things you would like to try, then determine the rolls (and roll them), and finally tell you if you have any time left?
Zavra Tuskless |
Sorry I have been checked out on this. The delay with Skal Con and craziness at work has ruined my routine in checking this over. I also have no access to move tokens and can only see half of the map, so I don't really have any effective way to assist in the strategy of this encounter.
Little Lya |
Can we focus this week and wrap it up by Saturday? Would be great to free up a couple of these characters.
GM.Silbeg |
Agreed.
We are waiting for Zavra...
