Jens Varmodsson |
Seconded there, Tats!
GM, I apologize sincerely for my own absences and delays. I've actually just picked up temporary employment for the first time in five years, so getting into the routine is draining me a little (plus, I just came down with a sinus infection from the bloody students). If I ever go a day without posting in combat, I'm happy to be GM-botted - Jens just hits things hard, and likes to throw up a saving shield if someone's gonna get hurt.
I hope you don't end up having to replace anyone, because I think we have an interesting party here!
Piousa of the Stars |
Due to circumstances beyond my control relating to various aspects of my life (family, work, and health) I am afraid that, for the time being, I must leave the games for now. I apologize for not posting sooner, but, as stated, things have gotten beyond hectic in my life.
I am sorry for any troubles this may pose in the games. I wish you all the best in both life and games, and who knows? Maybe in the near future I will be able to play with you all once again in a different game.
Jens Varmodsson |
I'm sorry to hear that. As I know all too well, life has a tendency to be in the way of pleasure.
I hope you and yours are alright, and that everything levels out for you soon. Should the opportunity arise, I'd be all too glad to game with you again. Take care of yourself.
Jens Varmodsson |
I'd hope so! Sometimes, it's fun to play a character who just hits hard and wrecks face. ;-)
Iolana Torlinni |
I kind of think that a healer will be really important for some reason. So I would yes.
Claylyth Hatril |
I can heal. If I add the Hex Channeler archetype next level I can heal almost as well as a cleric, though my crowd control and damage might suffer for it.
Jens Varmodsson |
I personally like the idea of keeping a divine caster on board. Someone capable of healing well, even if they're not built specifically for it. If Claylyth wants to pick up the mantle, that could work, but crowd control is something we'll probably want to keep.
Jens Varmodsson |
The response certainly hasn't been overwhelming... I have a few people I share several games with; I could put out some feelers?
GM Shathira |
I've actually had someone from one of my other games express interest, and he's a really good one. I'm just wondering if the long string in the recruitment isn't off putting. I've seen several WotR new games spring up, with large response. But, we'll have someone soon. He said he'd have a character up sometime today.
Tatyana Selitov |
If you've got a personal choice, go for it. If not, there are a couple of people who've submitted characters in the thread. Liath was in the original recruitment, and I kind of enjoyed the RP between her and me. She wasn't accepting of Tats at all, if I recall correctly, but I don't think that was a terrible thing. Up to you, of course.
Heinrick Stonewright |
Good Morning, I am the one Shathira mentioned.
It might take me a couple of days to get fully up to speed, and a full history done, but I am ready to go.
GM Shathira |
Claylyth has been absent for a long time now, and I think I am going to put her on inactive, unless I hear from her.
I will leave it up to you as to whether or not you want to replace her. In my honest opinion, the group you have now has a good mix, and I think you'd do well with just 4. A fifth would just be icing, so to speak.
Heinrick Stonewright |
I haven't been in this one long enough to make a decision, I will leave that up to the others, but I think we should run with 5.
Iolana Torlinni |
Yeah, when someone doesn't post for nearly a month they are usually good as gone. I think for now I agree, continue with 4 and later on we can bring in a fifth if we feel we need one.
Jens Varmodsson |
I'll echo Tats on this. Unless you have a good way to bring someone in without breaking verisimilitude too much, let's stick with four for now and see how we go. I wouldn't be adverse to bringing in a fifth player at some point, though, if you feel we need it.
GM Shathira |
Okay, onward with four it is! And honestly, I don't think you'll need any extra. Between Tats and Iolana you have your crowd control, and magey damage. Jens is a solid front liner, with Tats a good second, and Iolana for an extra bit of damage. Heinrick could step in with good armor too. You have healing from Heinrick, with Iolana who could add a boost there if needed. And CC from Iolana. Buffing from both Iolana and Heinrich. It's really a well rounded group. You all complement each other well.
Jens Varmodsson |
I love how in those roles and abilities, Tats gets two mentions, Iolana gets five, Heinrick gets three, and Jens only gets one. Yeah, the big guy just hits things really hard :p Not complaining at all; I usually play 6/9 casters with plenty of tricks, so Jens is very different for me. I just hope he fills his one role REALLY well!
Heinrick Stonewright |
For the next couple of weeks, I might be haphazard on the posting.
I am helping someone move over 2000 km, so posting will be dependant on the places where we will be stopping.
If I am dealing with the treasure sheet, I will update it when I can.
To GM’s please check on my profiles to ensure that I have everything that you will need to bot me as necessary.
Heinrick Stonewright |
knowing my luck with the RNG, I am more likely to hook Jens, than get the hook to the top. :)
Which is why I passed it to Jens to do the throw. :)
Heinrick Stonewright |
Yea, I think they have permanently attached themselves to my account.
All my pbp's have poor rolls. :(
Ah well, I guess I have to get so good that I can succeed without. :)
Jens Varmodsson |
It's funny. A lot of my characters have different luck with dice. Most are pretty much what you'd expect, but some stand out.
My swashbuckler in Curse of the Crimson Throne rolls well pretty consistently; she's landed more crits in two levels than any other character I've played.
Then there's Mikael, my thrashing dragon-style warlord in Skull & Shackles. His luck is... swingy. He's either rolling high and being awesome, or he can't tie his own shoelaces. He'll have a streak of good or bad luck that lasts for weeks in real-time.
Sometimes the RNG doesn't seem so random, eh?
Heinrick Stonewright |
I seem to have consistently poor luck with the RNG.
I will roll about 80% of the time, really low, and about 20% of the time really good.
Not at all like my FTF games, where I can consistently roll well.
Jens Varmodsson |
Dice are devious little bastards, I'll give them that. Be it physical or digital, they have a mind of their own, and it's full of spite!
Heinrick Stonewright |
Hey Jens, Chain shirt PJ's for you.
All the rage for the fasionable bedtime heavy armour wearers. :)
Jens Varmodsson |
Ha! Maybe if we linked the two of them together, they'd be able to fit over his gut. :P
Jens Varmodsson |
So, was that a 'huh, wasn't expecting that; nice work' startled, or a 'YOU FOOL, YOU'VE DOOMED US ALL' startled? :P
Heinrick Stonewright |
Leveling up to second.
+1 Level Cleric
HP: 1d8 ⇒ 3
FCB +1 HP / +1 Skillpoint
Skills
+1 Perception, +1 Spellcraft, +1 Know Religion, Planes, Dungeoneer, +5 Diplo (+3 Class +1 Rank, +1 Skill)
Iolana Torlinni |
I have finished my level up, the only thing I may need to tweak are my hp, I went with half+1. If that's not what you want then I will fix it.
