As the bug flies at Bill, Astein crushes his will down on the bug, Garavaen slams a bolt through its carapace, spinning it off kilter into Ri'el's burning hair, which in turn drives it straight at Bill's haymaker, leaving a mangled mess of giant wasp on the ground, and Bill's hands covered in wasp guts.

No more bugs to deal with correct?

"Hmmph" Bill shrugs his shoulders as he shakes off what he can of the goo left over from the wasp, before wandering down to the beach to wash his hand off in the water.

There are still bugs about, but none in your general area. Most everyone is heading to the main hall to wait till the wasps clear the area. There were dozens of them.

"To the main hall then..." Astein signals the group and starts heading that way.

Your group makes it to the main hall, and helps usher workers and regular folk into the hall. You think you've accounted for near everyone, and quiet sobs and heavy breathing fill the air. Many people bearing stings or wounds from mandible bites. About a minute later, the buzzing sound has all but subsided, but you see one woman, carrying a small child, running towards the hall. Two wasps break off from the swarm and dive towards her, one stinging her in the back. She takes a few more steps and you can see her legs become clumsy as the poison takes hold. She struggles to continue, surrounding the child as best she can with her own body as the wasps continue to sting. Soon the poison overwhelms her, and her limbs go numb. Her child drops to the ground, and start to scrabble away, as the wasps start to grab his still living mother in an effort to take her away with them.

Davina races forward, her haste causing the shuriken to fly wide of their mark.

Astein throws a spray of golden dust out at the wasps and one of them releases its hold on the woman and begins buzzing around clumsily. The other readjusts its grip on both of the woman's shoulders, as her head lolls to the side, eyes aware and pleading with you for help.

Bill arrives mere moments later, his fist taking the wasp dead in the mouth, rocking the beast backwards, causing it to release the woman, who falls limply to the ground.

Garavaen's bolt hisses by Bill's ear, striking the wasp in the eye.

The wasp circles around Bill, and the stinger, dripping venom flashes forward, but Bill's charge and the bolt protruding from its eye are distracting enough that the stinger punches through only air. The second wasp, flying erratically, attempts to sting Bill as well, but the blind wasp strikes air perilously close to Bill's head. low bad for the PCs

Ri'el directs the flames on his hair to burn off the ichor-soaked part of it as he simultaneously stimulates the growth of a new length of hair. Moments later, his brushes his new clean locks back from his face.

"Hair's all done," he declares with a grin. "I'll see about doing a roll call to check if we lost any men, as well as how much longer Squibs is gonna take to fix the ship."

GM, have we lost any of the crew so far, and how much longer will we need to wait before the ship is ready?

No crew lost and it'll be another 4 days before the ship is refit.

The people of Rickety's Squibs come out of the main hall, and start to go about cleaning up the grounds after the attack. Many of them take time to thank the party as they leave hall. Shortly after that you can hear as a few names are called, people looking for loved ones that are absent from the grounds.

The child watches with fearful eyes as Bill brings her into the main hall and a few other citizens come over to help, applying poultices to the sting marks. Viewing their economic movements you get the feeling that this is perhaps not the first time they've encountered these wasps, or at the very least poison. The little girl gives a bit of a whimper, and grabs hold of Davina tightly and buries her head in the Aasimar's shoulder.

Very shortly after things start to fall to a silent peace, a call goes up from further down by the docks. "Sails in the harbor!!"

Looking out into the harbor you see a Chellish galleon anchored, and an armed party is clambering from their launch onto the docks.

It wasn't a comfortable thing for her to do, folding her wings, not like her sister Nisha could do, no, it was uncomfortable and awkward for her but she did it none the less wrapping the little girl within the warm blanket of feathers.

"Very well, if you all agree. I'd just rather have the option of hitting the open sea if needed. We should gather the crew either way..."

The sailors climb onto the docks and look about, a man with a peg-leg sees the ship in dry dock and scowls a bit, almost confused, and shouts an order out. The sailors form a defensive semi-circle around him, but they don't seem to move or do anything more than that.

Gathering the crew you realize that that's folly. Your ship is still in dry-dock and will not be hitting any kind of water for a number of days still.

perception DC 18:
Getting a closer look at the sailors, you realize that they are not garbed the way Chellish marines are. The uniforms are, well, not uniform, and the sailors are of different races, something not normally seen among the somewhat xenophobic Chellish.

Sense Motive DC 15:
The sailors and their captain seem to be waiting for something. None of them move from their positions, nor do they seem to be tensing for any kind of attack.

Davina hear the call and looked for someone to hand the child off to but failed at accomplishing her task. Everyone was too busy tending to the injured and her mommy still wasn't conscious. Loathe to leave the girl alone Davina simply carried her along to go see what was going on outside while she continued to do her best to keep the child calm. She knew if there was a fight she was going to have little she could do to help at this point so she wasn't concerned about being ready for such a thing. Beside, if this ship truly meant harm she figured they would have attacked during the wasps attack, not come ashore afterwards without at least trying to soften the place up first.

As she reached the docks the aasimar looked around and took in what she could. The recently arrived land craft had just disgorged it's compliment who had surrounded one figure, likely their commander.

Sadly she wast still too preoccupied with the aftermath of the wasp attack, and comforting the little girl, to notice anything out of of use about these knew arrivals.
