I'm surprised that you actually saw the vine choker. They have obscenely high bonuses to stealth.


ON another note, weekends through the end of July are going to be slow for me. I'm a baseball coach, and after 6 rainouts to begin our season, we now have doubleheaders on most weekends, which take pretty much the whole day, where I'll be away from any kind of technology.

Nearly finished with my level up and wanted to ask, are you going to allow item crafting? Can't remember if I asked that already but just in case I'm asking again. Don't know that I'll take a feat for it right now, but I might.

Finished my level up, I did end up taking craft wondrous largely because nothing else called out to me for this level.

You'll get spells the next time you rest.


New map, Riptide cove is up, and you should all be able to move your tokens around. Keep in mind that each square in this map is 10', as opposed to the normal 5', Easy way to manage this is just to think of each square as 4 5' squares.

Thought someone had the amulet of nat armor already.

There really isn't anything on the list that appeals to me, I might carry some alchemist fire as an alternate means of damaging enemies but that's about it.

Going to move on then. The treasure list is updated. Who is carrying the potions? I'm not really concerned about potions as weight, if that's what anyone is worried about. I really just want to know who is carrying any potions not specifically "claimed". Please take one last look at the list and let me know if anyone is going to claim anything else on the list. If they do not, I will leave them stashed on the ship, and unavailable.


Once Davina casts Touch of the Sea on Astein, his swimming problems subside, and the group moves forward, and the tunnel splits, with a branch leading forward and another leading to the right. The tunnel to the right leading to a natural tidal cavern is decorated with the jawbones of numerous frightful-looking fish, resembling the throat of some hideous aquatic creature. The tunnel ahead appears to lead into another tidal cavern, but the details are beyond the reach of your light.

I've moved the tokens on the map to indicate where you are. You can move them about if you'd like them in a different order.

Clearly I didn't scroll down far enough to the consumables. I'd recommend a CMW potion for Eli, Garavaen and Morgrym, since they can't heal themselves and tend to act as party punching bags. Ri'el or Astein should get the other, I'd think. Invisibility is tricker -- generally, you either give it to a loud non-sneaky person to give them a chance of getting past things, or to a sneaky-sort to make them really good at scouting, at least for a short time -- either one is fine with me.

That sounds good to me since I have a cure light of my own currently. I also got the two flasks of alchemist fire added to my list.

I'f we've hit 3rd level, I should be able to keep a cure mod ready to heal myself in a pinch, but I guess Astein is able to as well. Perhaps Eli should carry two?


Once you've had a chance to rest and get new spells, you'll have those spells available.

Perhaps we should talk tactics here. I'm not sure we want to fight the Grindylows in this big, deep water, chamber when the odds are 10 on 6 and we have to contend with the underwater combat mods. Any thoughts on moving into the smaller tunnels to bottleneck these suckers and turn the odds in our favor?

Shathira, what is the base Swim DC in this area... since that affects our combat mods.

My only concern about drawing them back is that it may result in a raised alarm, and we'd be poorly positioned to stop them from going deeper into the water/cave...

1. Is Grindy 5 the dead guy one or is this another guy lurking below me?
2. If Grindy 5 is alive, how far is he from me?
3. What is the depth of the water in the side-tunnels that I'm in?
4. What is the depth of the water at the exit that Grindy 4 used to leave the cavern?
