@Ehlers, it direct hit skeleton D IIRC and you were hit by the "splash" for 5 (if failed Ref save, otherwise 2). So you're at -1.
@Jarif - the pool's very deep.
Jarif hits the skeleton but the weapons fall into the gaps in its ribcage, doing no damage.
PFRPG skeletons have DR to most melee weapons.
I'll remove the defeated skeletons from Roll20 to create some space.
Jarif Selvaunt |
*I* know that skellies have DR, but Jarif doesn't (didn't) know that.
"Gyaaah! What do I need to hit these guys? My strikes are landing, but it's not doing anything!"
Lord Admiral Truffles |
sorry, busy day..
Truffles follows Goldi's orders ramming his tusks at the skeleton hoping to dislodge a few bones.
attack: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (15) + 3 = 18
damage: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5
Haska Graniteheart |
Will post the next time I am on a computer and can see the map

Jarif Selvaunt |
GM, since the map is now empty to Jarif's SW, can we rule that when he was evaluating a 5' step into the pool (too deep), that he realized he could also free up space by moving to that now-empty space?
GM Shady |
@Jarif: no, because you had no way of knowing that.
Skeletons' turn. E and F move forward, so that E occupies Ehlers' square, Ehlers being prone. In terms of possible targets, A can attack Goldi, Truffles or Jarif, E can attack Jarif or Robilar and F can only attack Jarif.
All alphabetical order
At: 1d3 ⇒ 1 ... Goldi
Et: 1d2 ⇒ 2 ... Robilar
A attacks Goldi, E Robilar and F Jarif.
A scimitar attack: 1d20 ⇒ 5
A claw attack: 1d20 - 3 ⇒ (4) - 3 = 1
E scimitar attack: 1d20 ⇒ 14
E claw attack: 1d20 - 3 ⇒ (6) - 3 = 3
F scimitar attack: 1d20 ⇒ 11
F claw attack: 1d20 - 3 ⇒ (9) - 3 = 6
All the attacks miss.
The remaining skeletons move forward to press their attack, one on Goldi, a second on Robilar and the third targeting Jarif. However, none of their attacks strike home.
Jarif, Ehlers, Robilar and Truffles are up. Ehlers will be throwing to stabilise. Note Haska can still move when the time is opportune.
Robilar Hawke |
Robilar, spooked by the attacks, steps back and shoots the skelleton.
Point Blank Shot: 1d20 + 5 - 4 ⇒ (4) + 5 - 4 = 5
But as he sees his bolt flying wildly, he draws his morningstar and says "Jarif, pick this! Crush their bones, as they have no tissue to slash at."
Five foot step back, Standard to Attack, Move to Draw Morningstar with left hand and Free to drop it in front of him.
Haska Graniteheart |
Haska steps into the gap left by Robilar and tries to knock the nearest skeleton's head from its neck.
map is still not updated since I am no longer at a computer. Robilar needs to move up one space and then Haska will occupy that space
Round 2 action:
5' step
Attack skeleton
Rolls:
warhammer, attack: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (12) + 3 = 15 for bludgeoning: 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (7) + 3 = 10

Jarif Selvaunt |
Jarif, his eyes on the rusty blade and his mind on the damage it would do to his flesh, dodges the slashing scimitar. He turns his head at Robilar's call. Seeing the sense in the man's words, Jarif stoops to pick up the morningstar, dropping his own sword in the process. He stands, and in a smooth motion, swings the crushing instrument at the skeleton in front of him.
Free drop, Move to pick up, Standard to Attack Skeleton F.
Morningstar: 1d20 ⇒ 18
Damage: 1d8 ⇒ 7
Lord Admiral Truffles |
Truffles simply continues with his last command, wishing that these bones actually had some meat on them.
gore attack: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (9) + 3 = 12
But trying to avoid Goldi's scythe was much more important than hitting the undead.
Goldilocks "Sugarsnap" |
Goldi still swings her scythe at the skeleton looking like a panicked child. but there is actually some method to her madness.
attack aid another: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4
well crap, I can't even do that. so yeah, Goldi just is a tiny little twirling Tasmanian devil of missyness
GM Shady |
Skeletons' turn. A and E are still standing. A can target Goldi, Jarif, Truffles. E can target Jarif and Haska.
A: 1d3 ⇒ 3
E: 1d2 ⇒ 1
A attacks Truffles, E attacks Jarif
A scimitar attack: 1d20 ⇒ 13
A claw attack: 1d20 - 3 ⇒ (6) - 3 = 3
E scimitar attack: 1d20 ⇒ 16
E claw attack: 1d20 - 3 ⇒ (18) - 3 = 15
The two remaining skeletons focus their attentions on Truffles and on Jarif, but both contrive to miss.
Robilar, Jarif and Truffles are up.
Jarif Selvaunt |
Jarif steps through the gap between the skeletons, flanking one of them opposide Goldi. He swings the morningstar at the skeleton's ribcage.
Morninstar, flanking: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 2 = 7
Damage: 1d8 ⇒ 5
Lord Admiral Truffles |
Truffles angerly snorts as he tries to get the upper tusk on this walking pile of bones.
attack: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (14) + 3 = 17
damage: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2
Goldilocks "Sugarsnap" |
Meanwhile Goldi twirls her scythe again hoping that she can draw the skeleton's attention.
attack to aid Jarif with flank: 1d20 + 1 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 1 + 2 = 7
and again Goldi fails to hit AC 10 good thing I have the "helpful" trait
Haska Graniteheart |
Haska growls to himself in frustration and tries again to smash the skeleton into bone splinters.
(None)
Round 4 action:
attack skeleton
Rolls:
warhammer, attack: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (19) + 3 = 22 for damage type: 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (5) + 3 = 8

GM Shady |
Haska smashes and destroys the skeleton nearest him.
Only skeleton A remains. It could target Jarif, Goldi, Truffles or (with a 5 foot step into the space ) Haska.
1d4 ⇒ 2
The remaining skeleton, seeing its comrade fall, moves into the space vacated by Jarif and attacks Haska ...
A scimitar attack: 1d20 ⇒ 15
A claw attack: 1d20 - 3 ⇒ (6) - 3 = 3
...missing with both its attacks.
Jarif, Truffles, Goldi (if we make it to a new round) are up. Robilar, your shot would have been into melee through soft cover so would have been at -8. Jarif, if you move one space to the east before attacking you will get flanking +2.
Jarif Selvaunt |
Jarif takes a 5' step to the east, and takes another swing at the remaining skeleton. He attempts to find a pattern in Goldi's wild swings that he can time a feint or counterfeint to, but is unable to link up his timing with hers.
Morningstar, flanking: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (18) + 2 = 20
Damage: 1d8 ⇒ 6
I can't access Roll20 from where I am right now, can you please move my token on the map, GM?
GM Shady |
Sorry was offline for all of yesterday - back now.
Jarif dispatches the remaining skeleton. The room's now silent. Ehlers is still unconscious from his wounds, and makes no sound.
Extending the information from the survival throw Goldi made before the conflict
Goldi can now see the tracks on the other side of the pile of bones. Evidently the original party entered the room, as a group, from the western door (the door on the western side of the southern wall) and spent some time by the pool, then at some point reverted back by the same door. There's also evidence that they took the eastern door out and explored that way. The skeletons seem to have entered by the eastern door, chasing a solitary figure, presumably Jaer.
Haska Graniteheart |
Ehlers is unconscious. Damage report from everyone else? Need to know if channel or CLW is more appropriate here
Haska kneels down by Ehlers and checks his pulse.
"Anyone else hurt?"

Robilar Hawke |
"Not even a scratch. Lemme check Ehlers, afterall I did burn him. A little bit." says Robilar as he...
Heal: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (5) + 5 = 10
... taps on Ehlers head and whispers "If you are forgiving me, demonstrate it by making no sound and appearing dead."
He then stands up, claps his hands and turns to Haska. "All yours. He only needs a lil bit of healing, but we forgave each other."
Goldilocks "Sugarsnap" |
When the last skeleton falls, Goldi drops her scythe breathing heavy like she had a major workout.
she soon gathers her senses when she sees Ehlers, Goldi rushes over to him, is he dead? is he gonna turn into a zombie or something? does he need to eat brains now? can you heal him?
I know a little bit of healing, do you need it.
Jarif Selvaunt |
Jarif nods his head at Haska. "I'm shaken, but unharmed. Take care of him." He hands the morningstar back to Robilar. "That was useful, thanks for the loan. A bit heavy though; I wonder if any of these bones might suit me better."
Jarif begins digging around in the mess of bones, looking for two that he can dual-wield effectively. He swings them around through the air (making sure the space is clear, of course) to test them out.
Is it possible to find a pair of bones that can be wielded as light weapons with no non-proficiency penalty?
GM Shady |
@Jarif, no:
Haska Graniteheart |
"You may heal him if you want to help."
if Goldi doesn't heal him, Haska will.
from a meta perspective it might be better for Goldi to do it, since a Druid has to prepare CLW, she won't be using that slot for anything else, while if Haska does it that is one less Bless for the party

Goldilocks "Sugarsnap" |
ok. now lets see... she pulls out a small pouch containing all sorts of plant roots and leaves and a little dirt.
she starts to pick out a few leaves, lets see...oak starts with "O" that means Open wounds, Fir starts with "F" that is for fractures, Birch starts with "B" that's for burns, Rose petals, That's for the runs, and Sumac starts with "S" that's for....<blushes> well that's private.
she mixes the oak leaves with the birch leaves and some ginger root as well, she mixes it together till it turns pasty and applies it to the wounds.
CLW: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (7) + 1 = 8
