GM ShadowLord |
Waitm, are you attacking Ernust or me wit the dart?
Attacking Benny, sorry. I didn't want to attack the grappler.
Casting Sleep, DC15 to hit Mite 2 and the cleric
Yep, you're up. Do you think you can hit both? Remember that the cleric is 10' off the ground on a platform.
Watkins |
Watkins was going to go after the mite2. So his actions go before Alrathien.
Watkins maneuvers around Benny who yet again some how managed to put himself in the path of his arrows.
Oh, Benny...
But maybe not really since Watkins was supposed to go before him >_<;
"I am not sure how you survived Dalirio, but I shall see to it that you are dispatched again!"
Waktins greets Dalirio with arrows.

Watkins steps in an fire two arrows, both of which slam into the clerics chest. He screams in pain and avoids dropping to a knee just barely. He looks at Watkins confused.
"Dalirio? Dalirio! Do I look like Dalir-"
The cleric's words are cut short as he suddenly grows very drowsy. Both the cleric and the mite drop to the ground and fall asleep from Alrathien's spell.
Kimiya Sayo |
Kimiya moves in to the room and positions himself near the mites. He strikes out at the (flat footed?) mite to the right, slamming the flat of the blade in to the creature.

Alrathien |
"They are, if Alrahtien is not to be mistaken, asleep. You see, though some users of the arcane arts prefer to make loud bangs, Alrathien knows that the true master of the art can take control of the minds of those around him. And thus, Alrathien simply commanded these to sleep. Feel free to bind them for questioning. A much easier pursuit now, than while riddled by arrows and cloven in two by giant weapons, Alrathien does believe."
GM ShadowLord |
The mite drops from Kimiya's attack, ending the combat in a matter of seconds.
Benny, whenever you would take damage from an attack and it is reduced to zero or below you take a point of non-lethal damage instead. It's tracked separately from lethal damage.
The prisoners are bound and tied and searched. The mites have a combined total of 2 daggers 11 darts. The cleric is wearing half-plate and holds a masterwork heavy flail and an unholy symbol of Groetus.
Jeffrey Warren |
"Whoa, I didn't even get to do anything!" Jeffrey comments as he rounds the corner and notices the action's already over.
He looks at the prisoners. "Hey! Is there someone called Arieta with you?"
Jeffrey Warren |
Jeffrey shakes his head. "Sadly it'll restrict my ability to move around to much to be of much use."
Half-plate gives +8, but allows no Dex bonus to AC. My current armor gives +6, and allows me my +2 Dex bonus to AC.
Bennybeck Wabbittracks |
Standing over the cleric with his light mace in his hand the halfling will say,
And don't try any funny business or channeling any nasty stuff or I'll brain ya. Now be a good evil cleric and answer our questions.
GM ShadowLord |
The cleric rises from his magically induced slumber and looks up at Watkins. He spits in his face and says, "F+&+ you! What do you know of my brother?"
Looking over at the halfling he shakes his head, "You? I'm surprised you can hold that mace! I've seen babies bigger than you before!"
The cleric struggles to gets his hand free, but fails to do so.

Alrathien |
"Ah! Alrathien sees that you have history with this fellow. It always amazes Alrathien how the universe works to bring seemingly unrelated peoples together time and again with a common theme. Yes, you should fear the halfling, dark one. Alrathien has seen the wee folk in action, and you can rest assured that no one can fight dirtier than a halfling. Why, Alrathien remembers a particularly imaginative young fellow that put rats on a victim's stomach, and covered them with a bucket. He put hot coals on the bucket until the rat clawed its way out through the abdomen. Alrathien was unable to eat for most of the next day, you can be sure."
GM ShadowLord |
The prisoner scrunches up his face at Alrathien and shakes his head. He turns to no one in particular and asks, "Seriously? Does he have a few cogs loose up there? Is that supposed to be Taldane? What the hell is an Alrathien? Unbind me so I may help him meet the Hargbinger of the Last Days.
GM ShadowLord |
It is not.
The bound cleric finishes his chanting and stares Benny in the eyes and says sternly in common, "FLEE."
Kimiya Sayo |
Kimiya watches Benny run and turns to the cleric, "Play nice. Attempt that again and I'll wack you with this." He brandishes his naginata and grins.
Intimidate: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (14) + 8 = 22
Not sure if map is current. Kimiya places himself 10' away from the cleric and readies an action to attack if he begins to cast again.
Jeffrey Warren |
Jeffrey waits a moment to let Kimiya's threat sink in, then speaks up. "Tell us what you're doing here."
Jeffrey Warren |
"We beat him up," Jeffrey tells the cleric.
He turns toward his allies. "We didn't kill him, did we? I believe we just knocked him out... Did we hand him over to the guards afterward?"
GM ShadowLord |
Benny - It was only a round of fleeing, you are gone and back in a few seconds.
The cleric shakes his head, "I am not saying anything until I see my brother! I haven't heard from him in several days now."
Here are very belated Faction Missions folks!
Fellow Free Citizen,
These further rumors of the derro involvement in Cassomir are troubling. Though we care not that Taldor citizens are possibly being hurt, we’d be remiss in our service to freedom to allow slavery of any kind go unpunished. If you find a derro beneath Cassomir, see to it that he is destroyed and then bring some proof of his existence back to me—his entire body if necessary. Taldor can no longer ignore the problem beneath its second largest city. In my studies of the derros, I’ve read that they often drive their slaves before them as guards and soldiers—should you find some poor Darklands denizen in slavish servitude to the derros, give him the option of freedom before you strike him down. Even evil creatures do not deserve the shackles of tyranny.
Sincerely,
Captain Colson Maldris
Honored Subject of the Ruby Prince,
This tale of a shiny black artifact that turns normal rats into large, violent rats sounds disturbingly like an old artifact of Osirion, lost a thousand years ago. Known as the jet rat, this artifact enabled some depraved individuals to create armies of vermin. Should this be the very same artifact, be sure it’s returned to the safe-keeping of the Pathfinder Society Grand Lodge in Absalom. This item is very dangerous and shouldn’t be floating about in the general marketplace. If you happen to find a rat that has been altered by the artifact, take a sample from its body—but do so carefully. Remove the patch of skin and fur on the back of the neck. These must be taken together. Return a sample to me so that we may further understand how this artifact
works.
In service to our Ruby Prince,
Amenopheus, The Sapphire Sage

"We obviously don't carry around prisoners from missions weeks ago just in case we run into there evil twin that we didn't know about in the sewers. You can talk to him in jail. Answer the question."
Jeffrey Warren |
GM, which of the Watkins in the spoilers was supposed to be Jeffrey? :S
Intimidate, aid Kimiya: 1d20 - 2 ⇒ (16) - 2 = 14
Jeffrey puts the tip of his sword against the cleric's throat. "Speak! Or you won't ever see him again!"
Jeffrey Warren |
"And where is Cassomir Below?" Jeffrey asks the man. He also gives a quick look at his allies, in case they already know and he just missed it.
Alrathien |
"Oh ho! So, the artifact is in Cassomir Below is it? Alrathien is already looking forward to leaving these foul sewers behind. Where, pray tell, is this place, the Cassomir Below? A fantastical land of whimsy and beauty Alrathien does not doubt. Well, truth to tell, Alrathien doubts it very much. Another layer of sewers, more like."
Alrathien wracks his prodigious brain for more information on derros.

GM ShadowLord |
The bound cleric looks to the exit to the east and says, "Yeah, it's below here. Off that way a bit.
Looking to the steps leading out of here he says, "Look. Sorry about before. You look like reasonable people. How about we make a deal. You cut me loose and I'll let you keep the mites and I'll even throw in a few piece of gold to make it worth your while."
Damn Alrathien, perhaps you should be telling ME where it is! Ha! I guess you get it all.
level district: they ordered that all new buildings be made of stone, brick, or rock, and decided to raise the “street level” two stories higher than it was before, building giant rock walls topped by scaffolding and sheets of granite in order to do so. This sea level district used to flood twice a year, and by pushing the street level up, the flooding problem was averted as well. Businesses that rebuilt after the last fire soon found their main floors two stories below ground and so built their buildings skyward to be once again above ground. Soon streets were laid down that covered the old streets below. This process repeated two more times during Cassomir’s history until, eventually, the original levels were completely forgotten, new sewers for the current level were constructed atop Cassomir Below, and the memory of this original neighborhood fell out of Cassomir’s collective conscience. Today, Cassomir Below is an abandoned neighborhood that looks more like a cavern than a city block. It's located somewhere below these sewers, long forgotten by most.
Alrathien |
"Ah! Now that Alrathien turns his prodigious mind to it, he recalls the stories of a Lost Cassomir. The Part of the town near the docks that has continually sunk into the soft ground there to be rebuilt upon, over and over, until a goodly sized portion of the old city now lies underground. And there is an entrance to that fine place here, in these sewers? Alrathien stands amazed, and not a little alarmed, at such a thing. What say you, friend Bennybeck? Have you ever thought to explore an underground city?"
Jeffrey Warren |
Jeffrey gags the cleric and ties up hands, making sure it's absolutely impossible for the man to cast any more spells. "We're indeed reasonable. So be reasonable too, and patiently wait for us to return and bring you to your brother."
To the prison your brother's in, to be precise.
"Let's go, everyone!" Jeffrey says as he draws his longsword again. "Alrathien, could you lead the way?"
Alrathien |
"You do Alrathien the honor of leading our distinguished company? Flattered, nay egregiously so, Alrathien is. However, though Alrathien has read tales of this Cassomir Below, he has never had the opportunity to visit them. This gentleman, however," he indicated the cleric, "apparently knows all about it. Perhaps he can give us directions? Good ones, mind, or he'll be swimming back to his brother through these sewers and their mutant frog inhabitants."
Jeffrey Warren |
Jeffrey sighs. "If you wan to investigate those, do it. We've been standing here for half an hour. I'd have liked to be at Cassomir Below by now."
