"Ah, it is writings in "Under" Common. An ancient language we discovered might have originated from the Serpentfolk. It's a peculiar theory, but the idea is that they actually brought it to our realm from another existence, as scholars have encountered "Aklo" in more pure forms across the Planes. Seeing as we have found humanoid foot prints, I doubt it's Serpentfolk, but this is an interesting clue. From what I can gather, they are simply newer, abbreviated names of modern locations."

Ali nods, understanding the Undercommon tongue. Other creatures who speak the tongue are your common underdark inhabitants - the servants of the Drow for instance. I spent some time in the Darklands recently. I wonder if this tower is connected to the Darklands in some way?

Ali then walks over with the Hellion "Let's check out these noises huh?"

You are correct, they are from Silver Crusade (this one has the silver dragon clearly upon it). Curious huh?

With a curious look, Archon eyes the silver Wayfinder, slightly jealous, but uncertain. "You are, . . . among the crusade? I will admit I was so very close to joining myself. After the Society stabbed Torch and the Shadow Lodge in the back, I wandered a bit, uncertain, but . . . recent revelations bring an . . . emerald hope."

Assuming we are talking as we are walking...

"I was once. I thought it was the kindest way, and that all the world needed was some love and care and things would be right and we could have a society based on decent values - I thought the healing gifts might one day find their way into my soul and repair the corruption deep within there, and then I met him, Otiophon - a fellow Crusader, he was a Paladin in service to Shelyn, his love so strong and his heart so pure. I thought him perfect and he could see the real me through all my flaws, he brought me roses"

"We had to rescue some prisoners being held in Cassomir, and when we stormed the building we were overrun by Derro - filthy corrupt and wicked beasts they were. Our team got split up in the battle, it was horrible, they were all around us and we fought hard to drive them back. When the dust had settled he was just...gone. We never found a body, we don't know what happened. Was he captured? Did he flee? I like to think he fought gallantly to the end and it was just our failure to find him that kept him away from me, but in my heart I always feared he simply fooled me all along and he was fleeing us. I was lying to myself, I was letting him live a lie - there could never be an us"

"Once I saw what the Derro had been doing down there, the depravity, the horror, the corruption - I knew that if I wanted to change things then I couldn't do it with love and roses, no it would require a sharp blade, surgeons precision, and a clinical mind to cut out that filth corrupting the world. Zarta Dralneen opened my eyes. The Order of the Gate, only through them could I do what I had to do, only through them could I redeem the blackness in my blood, only though them could I rise to the standard I needed to rise to"

"I still have a lot of love for the Silver Crusade and the peaceful world they wish to create, where we can live free and in an ordered society - one day I too wish to live there. Until then there are the Hellknights establishing law and order and until peace and love can bloom"

"Oh Oti, you beautiful fool..."

Svetlana continues down the stairs.

Are you certain that you lied to yourself, or," breaking for just a moment, "is it possible, that you began to lie to yourself to avoid the pain of such a worthy lose? I envy you that you would have one so special to lose."

"He brought you roses, you said. And I can sense a lesson not fully learned. A wisdom,. . ." he pauses, not wanting to go there just yet. "He brings you roses, but, it is said, the most beautiful flower grows in adversity, where it can truly grow, laying roots none can see until they are truly needed. Not for themselves, but for another. Do not mourn those whose service hath been fulfilled. Only those whose sacrifice has wast,. . . yet to yield the fruits it was meant for. I believe that true strength lies in allowing yourself to be vulnerable, and surviving it. Carrying on when it seems the torch has faltered, but finding the faith and the will to continue nonetheless."

Suddenly changing the subject as if it where all connected in his fractured mind, "Draleen gives her roses to whatever bee she might fancy at a given moment, thinking it is sufficient. Her roots are shallow, and she and hers would have all roots be just as shallow. Easily plucked. Easily modified. Easier . . . to show. . ."

Distracted from the console by the intense history revealed by the hurting Hellknight. Moving down the winding stairs it comes into a subterranean basement, again carved by the strange magic of the long lost Elven Geomancers, much of the furniture here must have rotted away and weapons that may once have been stored her have been reduced to rust. The air here is cooler than the upper floor, and the room is relatively clean and clear of debris. The walls, though made of stone, bear the carved likeness of fresh soil riddled with tree roots. A staircase along the northern wall winds upward to the floor above, and an open doorway leads to the south.

This room turns out to be blessedly empty and you move through it quickly towards the open doorway. Beyond a few pieces of furniture made of petrified wood and a stack of sleeping pallets, this rounded triangular room is devoid of furnishings and gives the appearance of having been ransacked, with tables turned upon their sides. A wealth of mushrooms and fungi grow to a height of three feet around the periphery of the room. Open doorways allow passage to the north and south, and a closed door made of petrified wood stands in the middle of the curved eastern wall.

As you file in to the next room, Jezabel stops suddenly and is about to call out a warning, however she is cut off by a pair of Drow firing from behind a table! They both wear dark grays and blacks, with their faces covered by a mask. One wields a small crossbow in a single hand whilst the other wields a finely made Longbow that is of clear Elven design rather than Drow...

The Drow armed with a Longbow, calls out a brief command in Undercommon and then draws back an Arrow which begins to spark with electricity.1d3 ⇒ 3 After a moment's though he launches it at Dailung!

Yeah Drow, I was surprised too! Sorry Hellion but you weren't able to act in the surprise round, so ypu can't react to these attacks. Yeah the whole room seems to have Fungi everywhere.

A Third Drow darts up from behind a table and curses at the sudden wall of wind ahead of them, Unable to work out its source it fires the crossbow only to watch it zip harmlessly into a patch of Fungi, the Arrow still sparking. He then drops behind the table.

The Drow Leader, still behind the table sees the Crossbow fire wildly and pulls back his Bow string, waiting on something. The Second Drow Also hops to his feet and draws out a strange bag seemingly made of glue. He then throws it at 1d2 ⇒ 1 the Prophet.

Tanglefoot vs touch: 1d20 + 11 - 2 ⇒ (16) + 11 - 2 = 25

Reflex: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (4) + 12 = 16

Hellion then moves forwards and the Drow Commander fires his readied Arrow, taking the strike from his adversary.

If YES:

Loot! I am assuming someone can make the spellcraft rolls?:

From the Rogues:

+1 shock drow sleep poisoned bolts (14), tanglefoot bag (3); Other Gear +1 chain shirt x2, +1 hand crossbow x2 with 20 drow sleep poisoned bolts, +1 rapier x2

From The Leader:

+1 elf bane arrows (3), +1 shocking draw sleep poisoned arrows (9), tanglefoot bag; Other Gear +1 mithral chain shirt, +1 composite longbow, with 20 drow sleep poisoned arrows, +1 elven curve blade (Shattered), cloak of resistance +1, ring of protection +1, drow sporecrafting kit

Whilst his clothing and armour match those of the other Drow, his bow and Blade clearly look to be of Surface Elven make (probably got leaves and flowers on as opposed to webs and spiders)

Inside the Leader's Pack are three vials:

Craft Alchemy, Heal or Knowledge (Nature) DC 20:

These vials contain an anti-fungal salve. A PC may apply the salve like a magic oil to remove the effects of spores.

As with the tower above, you find yourselves with two exits to this room .Both doors are currently shut.
