hehe slapstick is lots of fun and Nysene I am still perfectly happy to lie to you by omission :)
Nysene Ratarion |
As an FYI I'm working night shift the next three nights (tonight, Friday, Saturday) and sleeping during the day so my posting rates will likely drop during the time. I'll try and catch up/keep up as best as I can but feel free to bot Nysene as needed to keep things moving along.
And hey, gotta lighten it up a little here and there right? Even evil people need to find things to laugh about from time to time ;)

Keeping things light and fun is what matters

So I am getting flashes of Alice in wonderland after the kitty gave a history lesson. Not sure why but it happened.
Shiloh Darrow |
Hehe Aevelyn would be the haunty Caterpillar
Shiloh Darrow |
Glad you like the suggestion :D
Shiloh Darrow |
My melee abilities are horrible so I am going to let the others take first pick. The only ones I the list Shiloh could use are the cross bow or long spear. But I could totally sell it for other things!
Shiloh Darrow |
Good to move on

I think oracle powers are more something that comes from within than from the outside. Like a sorcerer's inborn ability. Since there are many mysteries that have nothing to do with a deity, like time, stars, bones et al. They're just super powers with a theme that come from within, IMO. How they manifest is a reflection of the person.
Shiloh Darrow |
That is really unfortunate but I understand. Let us know what you decide. And thank you for mentioning that you are having issues. It sucks when a player just vanishes.

I have no problem with you staying on with a lower posting rate. It's nicer to have a post sometimes than no player at all in that slot. The important thing is that I'm aware of the lower posting rate so I won't wait on you in combats and such, for example. Your call and it's been a pleasure either way!
Shiloh Darrow |
I promise I will post after work but I have a few questions.
m I to assume that the sheriff leaves us alone or stays near us?
If we are still splitting up where are we all going? Am I still going up into the abandoned building?
Shiloh Darrow |
I feel like there is a reference I am missing and that makes me sad
Aevelyn BlackHair |
You mean THIS one?
Shiloh Darrow |
Hmm, it has been year since I have seen that movie.
Aevelyn BlackHair |
Samy, it seems as if we lost both Tavitha and Cherry as neither of them have posted in a while. Seeing as how they are both the healing and muscle of the party I would suggest we recruit replacement PCs for them.
Thoughts?
Samy |
I dunno, a cavalier and an eidolon can be quite decent muscle if built that way, and since APs are balanced for four, I'm inclined to want to give it a try like this. For healing I'd suggest giving consideration to Infernal Healing in early game, considering that it's basically accessible to all classes and this is the one AP where the evil descriptor is a non-issue.
Shiloh Darrow |
If we are not recruiting does the group want me to plan to take my eidolon in a more melee combat style? I was originally not doing that and taking her down a more scout like path so I did not step on any toes but I can do either one.
Nysene Ratarion |
I think investing in Infernal Healing, potions, and wands will probably need to be a thing for sure since I don't think any of we remaining classes have much access to any of the spells that fix status effects (the Restorations, the Remove <X> line, etc.)
The offer to rebuild Nysene as a battle oracle also stands :P
Breezelee "Breeze" Krolmnite |
Just to be on the safe side, I'd say to make the eidolon more of a combat type. And if the DM allows, rebuilding the oracle to more battle focused might be a good idea. I can handle most of the sneaky stuff for the time being, and I think we'd be better served with a little more oomph when it comes battle time.
Aevelyn BlackHair |
OK Samy I can certainly go with that! Since Aevelyn will not be able to learn Infernal Healing until 3rd level, either Shiloh will need to learn it when she reaches second level, or we will need to purchase a wand of Infernal Healing. (While I could certainly swap out her spells
known, namely Charm Person, I think it fits her background better as currently built).
Shiloh, by all means I think you should take Valrah to be more melee orientated as Shiloh levels up. Breeze has us covered skill wise methinks.
Nysene, would multi-classing as a Cavalier/Oracle be a better way to go here?
Nysene Ratarion |
Normally multiclassing a full caster usually isn't worth what you trade away unless you're going for a specific build like an Oradin. However, oracles can make pretty good melee combatants depending on what mystery you pick.
If I'd already used a bunch of Cavalier-type abilities up to this point the rebuild would be a little more jarring but since so far I've mostly just rolled skill checks and gotten viciously mauled by a dog I figure it will be okay, hehe. I'll see if I can get a rebuild whipped up a bit later tonight or tomorrow :)
Breezelee "Breeze" Krolmnite |
Oh yeah, lol, we got some issues getting all our bases covered over here!
Since I'm never going to be a high BAB character, I could always take a level of cleric or oracle next level, if we want to preserve our only melee threat. If I took a divine level, I could try and use the wands, scrolls, etc that we happen to find to help with condition removal.
Shiloh Darrow |
I fully support the want idea. Wands are a brilliant thing. And that will be my next spell to pick up. with all this gold being thrown at us we should be able to buy a wand fairly soon.
Honestly I rather enjoy the struggle of a un-optimized party. If forces a little more creativity in our actions. But to be fair I love to suffer and I completely understand that not everyone feel that way.
Another option and this is assuming the game goes past the first book is that someone could take the leadership feat and get us a cleric or life oracle. Yes that is a later option but we 'should' be able to manage to keep ourselves alive until then. Cavaliers are just an awesome class. I know there are some feats that you can take at lower levels that give you an early cohort but I am not sure if there is one to pick up a healer.
But we could get an alchemist instead! Hear me out. Healing bombs! Boom and you are all better! I find it a hilarious concept :) Plus some really great buffs in potion form.
I will look though my build plans and get on figuring out how I want my eidolon to be structured. I suppose the group will learn about her a little earlier then, which is fine by me.
Shiloh Darrow |
Ohh right we are losing all out beefy BaB if that is the case.
Samy |
If I took a divine level, I could try and use the wands, scrolls, etc that we happen to find to help with condition removal.
There's also always the option of hiring spellcasting help. Not in mid-dungeon of course but between dungeons you can essentially "always" get negative levels, blindnesses, curses and such dispelled.
Shiloh Darrow |
Aww! Darling it is your character. Play what you want. Which ever class you think you would have the most fun with :) Partial bab or full bab. Cavalier or Oracle that is completely up to you. Which ever one you pick works for me and will only add to the game.
Breezelee "Breeze" Krolmnite |
Shiloh is 100% right. I love trying to work through these issues in my head to try to help cover the bases. But the main goal is for everyone to have fun and play what they want to play! We will find a way to make things work.
Sometimes having to play smarter and look at things a bit differently is great fun, too!
Shiloh Darrow |
Yay! I love being right ;)

It's okay; I think I was being testy due to having my weekend plans rearranged somewhat.
After already working 2 nights in a row work tried to get me to come in tonight because they forgot to schedule someone for it! Then they asked if I could work tomorrow if I couldn't come in tonight. I don't mind covering if someone calls in due to sickness or some other catastrophe but if you just forgot to schedule someone then that's not my problem and I'm not cancelling a rare date night because of it. The fact that working tomorrow meant having to cancel our F2F game isn't much better.
I'll leave Nysene as is and we'll figure something out. Heck, my F2F Mummy's Mask group has had an eidolon as the party tank/melee damage dealer, the warpriest as backup melee, and both the warpriest and my investigator covering the healing and it's not been too bad, so anything is possible :)
I'd still like to make a battle oracle though...clearly this means I must make one for my next PFS character!
Aevelyn BlackHair |
That sucks about being called in to work, especially on your date night too! Still I hope you have a wonderful time with your hubby!

That is not something I miss from my last job. I love having set hours. I completely sympathize though.
A few years ago half the city was shut down due to a bad snow/ice storm but that did not matter I HAD to come in. Spent an hour de-icing my car only to spend three hours at work with no customers and a skeleton crew, since they all got to stay at home. I think there was like four people there for five restaurants.
It took them three hours to realize that we were losing money being open. No one was going to come to a over priced food court in the middle of a nasty storm. I had short notice to come in, sometimes less than an hour, to work a three or four hour shift. Freaking sucked.
