Welcome back Anka! And great stuff - a thoroughly enjoyable read so far.
Anka Stoneminder |
Guys, I really wanted to make another gameplay post this afternoon/evening, but I'm just tired/a little agravated from work/life. I will make one this weekend, I promise.
Ulfgar Baldeark |
Yes welcome back, enjoying the catch up post...
Anka Stoneminder |
Dammit!!!
i just lost my entire post!
Short story, unless it causes a problem, i am just going to respond to Kragg as if i have already recovered the Stoneminder ancestral blade [ooc](I.E. the 'Black Blade')[/i] so we can keep things moving. I will post 'flashbacks' to the recovery in spoilers as I/GM Ridge work it out.
edit: I still haven't updated Anka's skills/feat for third level yet. Was kind of waiting to hear back from you guys if it would help more for her to focus more on being another 'beatstick' or stay the course she has been & being able to use Linguistics for a lot more than what it commonly gets used for...
again, i will have fun with her either way, so don't let that concern you.
Ulfgar Baldeark |
Ulfgar is fine taking point, you can take the course you had originally planned and bring your pretty little black blade in and drag my bacon out of the fire :)
GM Ridge |
I'm thinking of closing this game up. I'm not doing a very good job with it, and long pauses on my part didn't help maintain interest for folks, or so it seems.
So, thoughts on this before I decide for sure whether to pull the plug? I feel a bit like a jerk for considering it given more than one of you took a chance on me as a kindness.

It's a lot of work, and I can totally understand if RL and GMing are at odds with each other.
I was unsure how to continue as we were leaving town as ANka walked back into town, seemed a bit strange to say "Welcome back, oh and by the way we're leaving again." yet that was where we are.
For myself I keep an eye on the campaign screen and when something pops up I'll see where we are.
If this has become terminal, I would look forward to catching another tale when time and RL permit, kinda like Ulfgar and curious to see where he might go :)
Granted though I'm not bowing out just yet, I'll wait on the other to chime in and you to make your decision. Thanks for the invite Ridge.
Anka Stoneminder |
I'm not certain we have called it yet...
I can certainly see arguments in favor, but I can also see arguments against.
I will begin by acknowledging that I have been one of the most prevalent in terms of going extended periods without posting & also acknowledging that there is little that impedes the flow of a game like PC's not maintaining interest/activity.
Perhaps we might consider taking a few weeks break & coming back to see if we might not be more enthusiastic?
Ulfgar Baldeark |
I'm happy to continue, as I said would like to see where Ulfgar ends up. if a true break is needed just advise. so long as Ridge leaves the board active I'll see updates when they come through.

I'm having trouble maintaining interest with such long pauses. Ridge, Its been my experience that once a GM starts to have trouble keeping up their own enthusiasm for the campaign, its usually best to throw in the towel before you start resenting it and seeing it as a chore.
If we can get back to regular posting, I'm in, but please don't feel guilty if you need to fold the game now - I'd rather that than keep limping along at the current pace.
Anka Stoneminder |
As an aside, today is my Son & only child's fifteenth birthday. In the unfortunately unlikely event that we break out in massive RP, that is why I am missing it.
GM Ridge |
Folks, I first attempted this at request of someone, and what the heck, I like dwarves.
Unfortunately, RL combined with a lack of discipline on my part and had me run it at a very slow pace. Others had their troubles too. A major player had to drop out, and just when I thought I could get this going again, things kept either myself or others from posting.
After a month break, I've found out that yet more stuff is coming my way. GMing requires a certain level of organization skill and effort that I do not at this time have, at least not for a 'build a kingdom ' game. Maybe I'll try to GM again, but it will likely be much something more linear if I do.
To say you've all been incredibly patient would be the understatement of the year. I'm very sorry I overpromised and under delivered, and hope I haven't burnt any bridges on this site. I can't in good conscience keep saying "Okay NOW we're going to get going..." every two weeks or more only to have some other family/health/work/etc thing pop up.
You're all great players and I want to thank you for your understanding.
So we're closing up officially. In the next day or two, I'll set the game to inactive so it won't clog your listings.
My apologies, and , once again, my thanks.
Hannarr Diamondheart |
No apologies necessary here. Thanks for giving it a whirl - you created an enjoyable game with many memorable moments
Happy gaming!
Ulfgar Baldeark |
Agreed, apologies not necessary, and if you decide to give the GM role another whirl. I'll gladly guinea pig once more.
Thanks
