Lilly Hennett |
Aha, i must get the confused people drunk as well? :)
When it's Lilly's turn again...
"Oh? A drinking game? Hmm......okay, sure, hold on."
Move action, if possible.
Lilly grabs two mugs in each hand.
Normally grabbing one thing at a time, but waitresses can grab multiple glasses of beer (assuming with hand holds) as well.
Red's discretion.
Move action, if possible.
She scoops the mugs into the ale, all at once.
"I'll be right over for the game. :) "
If it's impossible, things will take a long time, i'll come up with something else if you want.

Before I go ahead with this, is that acting normally like shook free of things or act normally for what the haunt wants us doing?
Hinata Kyomi |
Confusion: 1d100 ⇒ 22
Her head was still swimming but Hinata managed to gain a few precious seconds of clarity to try and understand what was going on.
Perception: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (1) + 8 = 9
She would try to look over the room for anything that could help free the others but was frantically searching for her Invisibility extract hoping if she was out of sight the haunt would ignore her.

Vingold cuts himself, Yizzik does a unique sort of tribal dance that includes playing with food, and Hinata and Glorgrim manage to shake free of the effects for a few seconds.
Hinata doesn't notice anything other than the barrel in the corner next to Lilly.
"Oh yes, you are all doing splendidly! Come now, just a few more ingredients!" The haunt continues to call to the party for their assistance as she fills various pots with imaginary liquids and tosses in some carrots and potatoes.
Lilly pours some ale into a few mugs. The dwarven ghost nods at her in approval as she does so.
Round 2- Glorgrim can still take his turn, Lilly already went, and Vingold, Yizzik, and Hinata can roll again.
Yizzik Uhari |

Reaching to grab at a jar for his food, the inner spirit fought against the compulsion. Rather that free the lizard though, it only caused his confused self to grip tightly and crush the jar, the reptile hissing from the pain he caused himself. "Damn this impossible strength of mine!"

Can't access the map on my phone, so I'm not sure who the nearest creature is. When it says "attack" does that mean I have to cause physical harm or can I trip/cast a spell/etc. to them?
GM Red |
I moved Hinata because I assume she took a move action to have a look around the room, so you're next to Yizzik and Glorgrim. Glor will probably move since he can act normally, so I think Yizzik would be your target. Luckily, he's hard to hit. I think you'd be too out of wits to focus enough to use magic. Basically, you pick up the nearest object and cause a kitchen accident of some sort. :) For rolling to hit I'd use your BAB.
Hinata Kyomi |

Which attack should I use?
Hinata Kyomi |
Despite being invisible the haunt was still able to fog her mind before she knew it one of her rocks was sent flying towards the nearest ally. ( Yizzik I think )

Hinata's pebble flies into a kitchen jar and shatters it into a thousand shards. The ghost lady looks up at Hinata, "Be careful, my dear!"
In his confusion, Vingold picks up a paring knife and throws it at Yizzik, but that too misses, flying into a wooden shelf and sticking out much like a dart.
Knife: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (11) + 6 = 171d4 ⇒ 3
Lilly, go ahead
Lilly Hennett |
Lilly walks back with the ale, like a rookie waitress girl on a beer fest.
"So what game will we be playing?"
She puts them down where ever is convenient.
GM Red |
As Lilly sets down the ale on the table, the ghost smiles. "How thoughtful. Now, we can all enjoy ourselves!"
And just as quickly as it had manifested, it vanishes into thin air, and a wave of reality washes over Lilly, Vingold, and Yizzik as their confusion dissipates.
A thrumming chant of Dwarven voices is again heard through the halls, this time, swearing, "Pledge ourselves to the Firebrand and her mistress."
Behind a sliding shelf, you find a hidden pantry stocked with a supply of wine and dry goods. Hundreds of small compartments contain wine, mead, and spirits of all types.
Among all the bottles is a bottle of Jeggare Vineyard's red wine, worth 100 gp, and three bottles of aged dwarven mead worth 150 gp each.
Yizzik Uhari |
"Ugh...my head..." the lizardfolk groans as he regains his senses, looking down at what he had been doing, then to his hand and the shattered glass and knife nearby. He had a vague idea what had happened, but was still trying to shake off the lingering effects of the compulsion. As he moved towards the shelves in an effort to regain his self, he found the hidden bottles, grabbing one of the bottles of mead at random to take a drink.
took a ten to find them, have no apprise so hopefully one of the bottles I grab isn't one of the nicer ones lol
Hinata Kyomi |
Is hinata still confused?
Lilly Hennett |
Appraise: 1d20 ⇒ 9
To Lilly, the bottles are just that, bottles.
Of course, some have a different color, but it's probably 'just' wine and ale.
"The cook-spook is gone. I take it you are all not in for the drinking game she was hinting at? Since you guys have a confused look in your eyes."
Hinata Kyomi |
Hinata's invisibility dispels as the haunt releases her mind from its grips causing her to stumble before catching herself and shaking her head clear. "What was that?" Hinata asks with distaste in her voice as she worked to shake off the brainwash then hearing the door slam. "And it looks like it's not over." She groaned and moved near Vingold as she prepared herself for the next fight.

OOC vote is Noise but Hinata will follow the group
Yizzik Uhari |
Hoping that the sound would not prove to be more spirits in wait, Yizzik would advance slowly without a word. He's glance back a bit unsure at his friends before returning to investigate the noise, shield raised in total defense. He didn't trust the lingering dead here at all, his golden eyes narrowed as he moved to investigate the room first and defend for his allies.
GM Red |
With the haunt dissipating, the confusion afflicting the party left with it. For Glorgrim, however, the effects did not cease. He continued to babble as the rest of the party recovered, and then he turned and slowly stumbled up the stairs, mumbling profanities and commenting on how he's the greatest miner Davarn's ever had, and how he must head back with speed to continue his work.
On Glorgrim's way back up, a crossbow-armed dwarf charges down the stairs past him, likely in pursuit of the creepy sounds plaguing this area.

As the party investigates the source of the noise, a cloud of shadows rushes forward, two claws manifesting from the darkness. It babbles to itself incomprehensibly, and you feel drawn to its voice.
Will save DC 15 everyone except Poe, or be fascinated for 2d4 ⇒ (3, 1) = 4 rounds. If the creature attacks you, the effect ends. This is a mind-affecting compulsion, so Lilly would probably get her bonus. Poe is not affected on this round as the babble happens before he comes downstairs.

When the haunt business has passed, Lilly taps everyone on the back, happy they are alive and well.
Guidance.
With Glorgrim suddenly wandering off, Lilly calls out to the kind dwarf.
"Where are you off to?"
When everyone follows the wandering Glorgrim, and the strange sounds become softly audible, the unhinged girl takes out her magic stick, and taps herself with it.
Shield up.
Though she's no stranger to ghosts, she's still surprised at the sudden sight of the new spook.

The bomb flies into the air where the shadow floats, exploding directly on it and spraying shrapnel everywhere. The shards tear through the allip and it babbles louder momentarily as some of its outline fades into nothingness, though its transparency offers it some inherent protection against the physical nature of the bomb.

I moved you five feet to be in range, Poe. Nice 3x critical you got there.
Poe waits for the moment that the Allip shimmers a little more into reality, then launches a bolt from his magic crossbow. The bolt is a direct hit, and the Allip babbles loudly as it's hit. It still appears to be in front of you, though only just.
The allip continues to babble, this time with Poe in earshot. Will save DC 15 from Poe only, or be fascinated for 2d4 ⇒ (3, 2) = 5 rounds

Yizzik could feel the return of his senses, but only after feeling a tug at his sanity from the horror behind the allips incorporeal touch. His breathing grew heavy and eyes wide as his mind took a hit, but did his best to press on.
Lilly Hennett |
Seeing the spectral hand go into Yizzik's chest, Lilly decides for other measures.
Her hand glowing, she steps in and touches the Allip.

The positive energy fades into the Allip, circling its body and causing more of the shadowy figure to fade into nothingness, but the continued babbling would have you believe the creature has not yet been put to rest.

Hinata shakes her head once the creature fades, "Is everyone ok?" She asks as she begins digging through her bag for her potions.
Is poe someone from the town we know or did I miss a posts?
GM Red |
That'll be Poe's decision. The only thing I posted was that he was sent by the Mayor after you guys arrived at the Redoubt. He does have some relationship with the Axebringers, but whether or not he's met any of you before hasn't been established... Feel free to create or not create as many relationships as you'd like. Poe - there is some background on everyone in the Discussion thread, the first page or so should have most of it.
Yizzik Uhari |
"Y-Yeah...I'm just...my head.." he said, placing his axe and shield back on their holsters, his hands going for his head soon after. He figured he would be fine, it was only a slight feeling of mental exhaustion at the moment.
Poe Quickhammer |
Poe would be at least visually familiar with Yizzik and Vingold, and actually, he has spoken with Vingold a few times since he knows *everyone*. (I have a friend like that, it's uncanny.) Poe frequents the bar that Yizzik and Vingold prefer to occupy, and is a member of the town. He was actually out visiting the Quickhammer's hold elsewhere in the 5 kings mountains when the call came for aid, and he was late arriving on scene. None of the group currently present knows his relation to the Axebringers.
"Is anyone hurt?" Poe asks, shouldering his crossbow. "My name is Poe. Poe Quickhammer ta be precise!" he pats the stock of his crossbow affectionately. "This fine young lady is Olivia. Best crossbow this end of the 5 Kings Mountains."
He trundles up to the group. "Ah! Vingold! I was told you'd be here, glad to see you're still among the living!" he greets the bard with a grin. "I still owe you a pint of stout an' I feared I'd have to pour it on your grave." He looks up at the hulking lizardfolk. "I remember you. You okay? Look like that Allip did a number on ya."
He turns to the kitsune and looks her up and down. "I... Don't know what-I mean who you are..." The dwarf looks back at Vingold. "Psst. It's... kinda rude ta ask in front of her, but... what is she?" he whispers to the bard.
Lilly Hennett |

"She's a fox-girl..obviously."
Lilly points at the cute ears.
"Kitsune..wasn't it?"

"I hadn't given sign to land on my hand, you silly bird.
My shoulder works better.", she places Tickles onto her shoulder.

Having a look at the various rooms here, you're able to deduce that these must have been bedrooms for the Redoubt's staff. The cabinets are void of anything noteworthy, other than decades old clothing and thick layers of dust, cobwebs, and plenty of spiders creeping across the floor.
Feel free to continue RPing, especially in response to Poe's intro. As for this floor, you've explored it, so I assume you head back up the stairs and then where to?
