Despite embedded arrow Fey was smiling broadly as he stood with scimitar in hand and prepared top fight to the death at this very moment. "I found someone! And they can fight!"

The archer seemed flexible, but flexibility was of limited use against explosive attacks, and the bomb was accurate enough to catch her in the blast. Instead of retaliating, however, she took a five-foot step backwards... and dropped down the hole in the southeast corner of the room, moving away from the upper chamber. There was a faint flash of movement from below, though from here, it wasn't entirely apparent what she was doing...

He drinks down his extract. Chuckling as the arrow popped out of his chest and clattered to the floor. He looked down the hole and grumbled in amusement. "I hate when they play hard to get... I prefer women who are more direct... although I did burn her good, hehe."

He relished the idea of a tough fight however being shot like that again wasn't what high on his list. His tail whipped in frustration like a angry cat as he looked over his shoulder. Julian, twirled his scimitar and strode away from the hole. looking at the stone table and smiling diabolically. He upends the table and proceeds to roll the slab over to the hole in an attempt to cover it.

The table is, in fact, large enough to place over the hole and stop others from coming up... though it also stops you from heading down and seeing whatever part of the base was down the ladder. Moments later, there's a loud noise from the north - specifically, up from the sleeping chamber you found when you first entered the area. (That is, area H2) A roar shakes the ground a moment later, and red light begins to seep from under that door.

As Julian approached the northern door, it was slammed open right in his face-

-but at least it allowed view into the chamber beyond. The red lights were coming from further in the east part of the room, not yet visible... and most of the reason they weren't visible was the figure that stood on the other side of the door. At nearly seven feet tall, it seemed too large for the chamber it was in - and despite its humanoid form, its body was a blackish mass of ooze, and a crocodile-like mouth filled with sharp teeth widened in a grin as it prepared to attack!

Tarov rushes to face the new threat, placing himself between the creature and Julian. He raises his weapon, the heavy head of the dorn-dergar glinting slightly. "Ya won't be goin' through me, monster!" the knight calls.

The explosive detonated cleanly, blowing away a good portion of the creature's body. It darted forward a moment later, giving Tarov the opportunity to swing-

Julian:
The creature is a Lesser Ooze Demon, relatively weak as such creatures go but still a credible threat to the average mortal.

Tarov's weapon managed to strike into the creature, but it was probably just as well that he'd stepped back - the bomb failed to strike the creature head-on, but - Reflex: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (10) + 3 = 13 - did manage to catch the beast in the splash. The creature simply howled as it moved five feet forward, then lashed out at Tarov with a brutal barrage of attacks.

The snapping jaws didn't do much, but the creature's claws - and very arm - were another matter entirely. On the bright side, it was clearly weaker than it had been before, so at least there was that.

Incidentally, I just noticed this - CMD is something you should both have listed on your stat bars, since it does come up semi-regularly when fighting certain foes. ^^ Please add that in next time you're updating them.

Meanwhile, Julian had moved far enough into the next chamber to catch a glimpse of what else was going on - two humanoids dressed as cultists of Baphomet, their features too indistinct to see, were on the east side of the room surrounded by spheres of pulsating red energy that looked like nothing so much as hellfire tamed and brought to the material plane. Yes, you may redistribute the gear.

The two cultists were each in possessing of a very respectable cache of items - clearly, they hadn't been expecting to fall so easily. Each had a potion of cure light wounds, a scroll of cause fear, a scroll of comprehend languages, a vial of unholy water, a masterwork chain shirt, a dagger, an unholy symbol, and 10 gp. In addition, one of them carried a masterwork scythe, while the other had a masterwork glaive. It wouldn't be much longer until they woke up from the spell... and your other companions were carefully staying well away from the cultists, just to be on the safe side. Horgus in particular looked like he couldn't wait to be somewhere else.

Tarov takes the glaive, testing the weapon out. Though a bit longer than most of the polearms he's used to, the dwarf grins at the feel of it. "Now 'is is more like it," he muses, before stowing his dorn-dergar, a dagger, the armor, and the coin from one of the cultists. He pops the stopper on one of the potions and chugs the contents, sighing contentedly as more of his wounds are healed.

Once everything in their possession is safely removed from them, Tarov begins to lightly prod one of the fallen men with the tail end of the pilfered weapon. "Wakey wakey, lads. Ya've got some talkin' t' do."

Tarov permanently borrows the masterwork glaive, masterwork chain shirt, a dagger, a potion of cure light wounds, and 10g.

Before they are completely aware Fey slips the edge of his Scimitar beneath the chin of one of the cultists and whispers in their ear as their eyes flutter open. "Best answer him quickly or I will send you to your pathetic god." He presses the blade against their unprotected skin for emphasis.

"People usually ask questions before they demand answers." the cultist answered flatly, returning to consciousness. "Maybe you should try following a god who supports intelligence, because you're clearly lacking in that right now." He didn't seem particularly cooperative - nor afraid of dying. But then, considering what had happened in the city above, he may well have believed that the Abyss was ascendant right now... and it was much harder to fear death when you felt your foul god would reward you for your service.

Tarov frowns just a tad, grinding the butt of his newly acquired weapon into the bound cultist's leg. "Ain't no way t' talk t' th' folk who so graciously let ya live, e'en though yer nothin' but dead weight. Now," he begins, letting some of the pressure off the man's leg. There is no warmth in the smile on the dwarven knight's face as he continues. "Yer gonna tell me why yer here, an' what yer aims are. If I like yer answers, I might even just leave ya here for the mongrelfolk t' deal with. But if I don't, I can assure ya 'at death will only be a relief from me and me friend, here."

Tarov shoots a look to Julian that reads 'play along,' but the tiefling's current behavior has the Toragian worried.

The Cultists response gains him a light slice across the throat as Fey pulls away. "Next time it'll be your tongue I cut. Besides..." A war of wills raged behind his hate filled eyes before he smiled broadly. "Ya lost because you rely on gods. So answer Tarov." Yer nagging is annoying the shit out of me, quit whining and let me do what I have to do...

"What am I doing here? Everything except enjoying the destruction of everything you care about." the cultist answered... and in her eyes was more than a faint glimmer of fanaticism. "Honestly, I'd rather be up there than down here, but the Lord of the Locust Host doesn't plan on letting a single mortal live. No man, woman, or child... not even pathetic mongrels scrabbling for mushrooms deep below the ground. Your kind is big on family, right? I wonder how your brothers will feel when an endless army of demons marches on them. So go ahead, kill me. My soul is already destined for the Abyss, and when it arrives, it will spawn hundreds of demons that serve Deskari and will come right back here to butcher your family. All the pain you cause just makes my wrath grow, and that sin will feed my soul's demonic spawn to make them all the stronger. It doesn't matter what you do - you've already lost."

It was increasingly clear that this cultist - and likely the other - was completely insane... but there was no sign she was lying, either. What would one who called themselves good do when their threats only made evil stronger?

"Tie 'em both t' somethin'. From th' ceilin' if ya can pull it off. We'll see how much bluster 'ey got when ain't nobody's fed or e'en noticed 'em for awhile." Tarov says to his tiefling companion, then sighs heavily, tapping the floor with his new weapon. "It's a shame, really," he says morosely. "Ya think I'm scared o' yer threats? That I ain't seen things worse than anythin' ya and yer masters could conjure up? That you just ain't capable o' doin' worse than burning me home t' the ground? Hah!" Tarov laughs, the sound sad and frustrated. "E'erythin' ya have fought an' bled for will fail. Ya stupid gits never seem t' learn. Ya may win a battle 'ere or there, but evil'll ne'er win th' war. Because as long as folk like me and my pal 'ere exist, yer kind won't succeed. Because bein' righteous is th' same as bein' strong, an' ya wouldn't know th' first thing 'bout it."

Looking to Julian, Tarov nods. There is only sad acceptance in the knight's gray eyes.

Fey nods absently, testing the edge of his weapon as his tail twitched with boredom. It was shortly after Tarov was done speaking before he lifted his head and in a dismissive manner looked to the Cultists. Kneeling down he takes the filthiest loincloth off the mongrelmen and jams it into their mouths and uses the last of the rope to hold it in their like a bridal. He was done hearing them speak, ever again.

However unlike before he was frighteningly calm and his eyes had regained their hint of intellect. However the beast remained and it was tired of talking to cowards. "Now that you're done spewing drivel. Heres some news for you..." Still kneeling he presses the tip of his scimitar into the speakers chest, tilting his head to the side as though he were appraising prey. "You and your bed mate are in a hole, watching nothing. You're so useless they had no need for you and stuck you down here because you are worthless fanatics. Your souls wouldn't spawn a pimple on a demons ass let alone an army." He chuckles as he presses the blade harder into their skin. "The only sin you've committed is boring the hell out of me with how pathetic you are. I fear you're wrath as much as I fear a shrew before its crushed under my boot. Cannon fodder like you is useful for one thing. Nothing. Save for sacrificing them so that their betters can rise. When you reach your demon god he will cast you out because, for all your devotion, you. Are. Weak." He punctuates this by twisting the scimitar tip and then withdrawing it as he stands up and moves to the downed mongrelman fighters.

K-Planes - Speculation on souls in the abyss?: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (7) + 10 = 17

He picks up the Mongrelmens club weapon, testing its weight as he walks back over to them. I'll show you cowards Wrath.. "When you reach your Lord tell him Julian De'La Fey sent you." He hefts the weapon as he is about to proceed with beating them both bloody and leaving them unconscious on the ground.

Unless stopped~

He unleashes all the repress rage and hate he has had for so many years, a century of long repressed anger that surged out in the form of a club and battering fanatics that wished harm on the innocent. Once they were unconscious he drops the club on the speakers body and doesn't even look back over his shoulder at his companions. Instead he twirls his Scimitar and drinks down his last healing extract, healing himself completely before speaking. "If ya Hate or Fear me, get in line because I don't give two coppers about it. You cast your lot in with them, harm an innocent and you deserve what you get. Lets get back to Kenebras while there are people left to save..."

Tarov prevents Julian from going too far, making sure the cultists remain alive. "We're th' hand o' th' righteous," he says. "An' th' moment ya suggested ya'd harm e'en a single hair in th' beard o' e'en one of me kin, ya became th' enemy o' that righteousness. Th' Father o' Creation is lookin' down on us right now, an' he's smilin'." Once he is sure the cultists won't succumb to their wounds, he pushes them into a corner of the room and leaves them tied together. "Le's go," he says to Julian, walking out without a single look spared to the foolish pawns of a much larger evil scheme.

Lawful Good is NOT Lawful Nice. Especially not to Torag, the deity who gives his Paladins free reign to smite those who would harm his followers, with extreme prejudice.

Walking out in which direction? Details like that are rather important. XD

@Julian:
While the exact details of the process are unknown, very few souls stay intact upon being sent to the Abyss. Only the most powerful beings can expect that - the rest split into demons, with dozens or even hundreds rising from each soul sent there. Evil's incredible ability to multiply in this way is one of the major reasons the Abyss outnumbers everyone else - and any follower of a Demon Lord has probably taken specific steps to ensure that such a thing happens to their own soul.

Anevia was warily standing in front of Aravashnial and Horgus, not looking terribly happy to be there in her current condition - but she was better positioned to guard them than either of the other two, and there was no point in arguing at a time like this. All three looked somewhat nervous about the conversation they'd heard in the other room - Anevia in particular had an oddly thoughtful expression on her face, but they did look like they were ready to get out of here as fast as they could...

Fey takes the lead, scimitar in hand and using his body as a shield as he skulked along. Not to terribly phased by the beating he unleashed on the cultists mere moments ago, he was raring for another fight despite the nagging voice that made him withhold his blows.

The knowledge he gained made him smile, if he got to fight tese cultists a thousand times then he could, in theory, kill them a thousand times. Perfect.

"So are we retreating?" His sounded almost annoyed by the idea but now that most of his spells were exhausted he couldn't quite argue...

He counted the number of bombs he had left and grimaced. "Two bombs left. PLenty of arcana and a few spells left but nothing majorly offensive though..."

He arcs an eyebrow at Tarov's words, his brutish smile was wide as he responded. "Until we kill their leader, and burn every room in this hole, I plan to keep fighting. It's obvious these a!$%+&!s support the attack on Kenebras. How do we know they haven't kidnap some poor sod down here eh?"

Tarov stares Julian down, his jaw set in a hard line. "Ya will listen t' me, lad. Ya'll do as I tell ya, nice an' quiet-like. More important 'an wipin' 'ese fools out is t' get t' th' surface and get our friends 'ere some aid," the knight takes a heavy step towards the tiefling, not even remotely intimidated by the other man's height advantage. "Once we ain't leadin' these folk around, yer free t' come back down 'ere and kill e'ery last livin' thing, alone, should it please ya. But in my presence, I ain't gonna be havin' it. Ya think the Starsong's pleased with how yer actin' right now?" He takes a deep breath, letting the moment pass. Fey puts the flat of his blade over his shoulder and gives the hard jawed dwarf a narrowed glare of his own. He wasn't scared of the dwarf, not even a bit. He sarcastically remarks at first. "Hotblooded, feh. They don't fight for shit, relying on demons. Pathetic. I don't know what Starsong thinks Tarov, the gods don't speak to me." He starts tapping the blade on his shoulder as he points out. "Besides that blue girl has probably told others were here and I don't want them hounding us all the way to surface as my ass isn't arrow proof. I'm not an idiot, but right now they are scattered and letting them regroup is beyond stupid..."

His face turns grim as he speaks more quietly. "Besides we both know whats on the damn surface and our escort duty won't be done. Demons don't just stop when a city is in their grasp and cultists on our ass makes for a poor strategy. Three Crusades taught me that much so what'll be Tarov. Head for the surface and let them regroup? Or take them out and turn this hole into a base for our own?" Fey's usual bluster was changing into a more fluent speech, his animilistic form appears to be shifting back to normal. His tail was no longer as thick as it was before...

Your other three companions didn't seem like they wanted to enter into this discussion - but for their own reasons, all of them seemed more interested in returning to the surface than sticking around. Two of them were still too injured to be useful, and the third just wasn't a fighter. Of course, their reliance on the two of you meant that they'd pretty much have to go along with whatever you ultimately decided to do, so there may not have been much point in worrying about them.

Scales started to flake off as Tarov spoke angrily at Fey. His eyebrows rose at the continued bashing before he shakes his head at Tarov's rant. "What are you on about now Tarov?
