"Pyro-like spells are stronger? I did nae ken that. Of course, I cannae exactly use flamey spells, but it might be of interest..." Umbriak slurped down the last of the porridge, still undecided on whether it was enough for breakfast, and declared, "Now, what be the first order of buisness?"

"I imagine growing crops to be hard. Hence why I wondered what your farm was producing, since I saw no livestock, either - regardless, I considered you may have been torching your fields to prevent plundering by the Ragesians - but my friend already asked the more important question: What is your plan, and how may we fit into it?", Farod decides that with the old mans attitude from yesterday, he may take it better if the groups approach made him feel in control of the situation.

"Crystin thinks the Ragesians are coming. I'm simply going to... discourage them." the old man answered, a biting edge to his words. "Quite frankly, I don't care what you do. Stay, leave, it makes no difference to me."

The heavily-built Dwarf looked over to Cystin, looking to see what the young woman wanted. Frankly, Umbriak didn't especially care about the grumpy old coot - he could stay and wrestle the damned dragon when it came to snack on him, if he so willed it, but the young woman didn't seem to believe in the old man's magical invicibility.

Farod's gaze also shifts over to Crystin, trying to read if she seems to actually agree, or just intends to stay out of obedience.
"So, if the fire forest amplifies pyro-spells, wouldn't it make more sense to make a stand against the Ragesians inside? Wouldn't the spells be even more powerful closer to the heart of the forest, and as such, even more discouraging to the Ragesian rabble?", he suggests to the old man, trying to play devil's advocate.

"Get too close and the forest'll burn you. What'd you expect? It's f***ing fire." he answered with a snort. "You'd best be able to ward off the flames if you want to travel through."

"That's been handled." Torrent said, smoothly interjecting herself into the conversation. "And speaking of, we should probably get going. The sooner we're through, the better."

"All the better, if we're warded and the Ragesians are not. And we don't even have to worry about diseases or pollution, as the countless bodies they will leave will get cremated by the Forest. Awesome. I'll pack my stuff.", adding as an afterthought:"Crystin, could you show me to your well? I'd like to make sure our waterskins are filled."

Umbriak nodded to Torrent, and headed out to give the horses a once over and start loading them. He wasn't great at mounts...but Ridley was worse, and Farod seemed busy.

As you moved towards the door, a booming voice could be heard from outside. "Haddin! Come out and turn yourself over to the authorities for your crimes against the world, or be slain here today!"

Male (Ye may check, I dinnae mind) Dwarf Barbarian / Warpriest-Wizard Gestalt 5| HP: 70/70 | AC: 19 / T: 11 / FF: 16 |(+2 vs magic and poison) Fort: +7, Ref: +5, Will: +9(11) | CMB: +9, CMD: 20 | Init: +1, Perception: +10 | DR 2/- | Fire Resistance 1

Umbriak stopped and glanced over at Haddin. "So...ye have friends visiting, or is this nae what ye expected?" The bulky Dwarf moved to the nearest window, keeping his head low which was, at least, somewhat easier for the Dwarf, and glanced out the window to see if he could spot targets.

"Where I come from, the rules of hospitality are binding both sides...we slept under this roof, and ate with them...as such, we should stand with them against trouble. And that DOES sound troublesome, if your name is Haddin", Farod states, letting his gaze pass over the old man and Crystin, trying to judge how they feel about the person outside, then looking at Umbriak while fetching his weapon:"What do you see?"
I suppose if we were packing up to leave, we have our things close by, but I doubt I'll wield a bow inside while eating breakfast.

Ridley put his hand on his head and grimaced. "Whose authorities?" he called back.

"Inquisitor Leska and Ragesia! Come out unarmed and with your hands clearly visible - we will not hesitate to kill you if you disobey us!"

Umbriak pulled his axe from his back, once again trying to look out the window and see where the enemies were. He had no interest it shouting at the Inquisitor and giving away his presence, but gestured to Ridley to keep him talking...if only so Umbriak could find him more easily. Hesitating, as Haddin and Crystin seem to not even react to the voice outside, Farod holds position next to a window on the other side of the door from Umbriak, not giving away his presence, either, instead keeping his eyes on Haddin and Crystin, hoping they will shake off their paralysis and show some kind of reaction.

...I'm not sure if Ridley is being serious or not. XD But that's fair - the NPCs aren't, either, so I suppose that all works out.

It wasn't easy to get a good view of anybody who might've been hiding - aside from the humanoid out front, anyway. Notably, though, Umbriak did hear a faint scratching noise coming from the back door...

Male (Ye may check, I dinnae mind) Dwarf Barbarian / Warpriest-Wizard Gestalt 5| HP: 70/70 | AC: 19 / T: 11 / FF: 16 |(+2 vs magic and poison) Fort: +7, Ref: +5, Will: +9(11) | CMB: +9, CMD: 20 | Init: +1, Perception: +10 | DR 2/- | Fire Resistance 1

The Dwarf's head snapped around at the sound like a hound. An angry, heavily muscled, bearded hound. With a snort he moved to the backdoor and threw open the door. "Have ye heard the words of Angradd?" the bulky Dwarf asked.

Ridley is attempting to annoy and/or confuse with his replies and willful grammatical misunderstandings, while the team prepares to fight.

With Haddin and Crystin still paralyzed in...Fear? Contemplation? Shock?...no matter, Farod decides to take matters in his own hands.
Seeing the Dwarf storm towards the backdoor, Farod chants a few syllables in guttural Orcish, pointing at Umbriak, who will suddenly find himself growing larger. (If that is feasable. Considering he's short to begin with, I doubt the ceiling will give him much problems but I don't want to discomfort him-)

Crystin didn't look like she had any interest in actually fighting (her problems with visions seemed like they'd make it hard), while the old man was... quietly repeating something under his breath. Farod's spell was quite workable...

...And as the embiggened Umbriak whipped open the door, he found a goblin there with a set of lockpicks in its hands. It let out a shriek and started running around the side of the house, moments before heavy pounding could be heard out front. It seemed they were no longer content to wait outside...

Male (Ye may check, I dinnae mind) Dwarf Barbarian / Warpriest-Wizard Gestalt 5| HP: 70/70 | AC: 19 / T: 11 / FF: 16 |(+2 vs magic and poison) Fort: +7, Ref: +5, Will: +9(11) | CMB: +9, CMD: 20 | Init: +1, Perception: +10 | DR 2/- | Fire Resistance 1

Slamming the door shut again, Umbriak grabbed the nearest heavy thing that wasn't too bolted down or likely to run away and dragged it in front. Let the little thief pick the lock now, if he wanted.

Now turning around, Umbriak swore as he banged his head on a beam - never a problem he'd suffered before - and moved to the front of the building, ready to hit the first hostile through the door with his greataxe, now only a little smaller than the door in width.

@Umbriak: I hope it was ok - I usually ask first before applying these kinds of buffs to people- but with 2 spells known and one locked, there's not much I can do with my magic right now - especially as currently, enlarging is still useless for my ranged combat.
Considering wether to deal the first blow, or not, Farod decides that heavy pounding on the front door after the previous exchange could only lead to a peaceful outcome in very few, very specific cases.
Stepping in front of the window and throwing it open, he draws an arrow with a fluid motion and lets fly at whoever seems to be in command.

"እንቀጥላለን," Ridley mutters, as light dances on the edge of his vision. Moving forward, he casts Shield of Faith on Umbriak. (+2 AC)

As Farod stepped out of the door, there was a loud thrumming sound, and a crossbow bolt hurtled straight towards Farod-

Ranged Attack (Farod): 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (19) + 5 = 24 for Damage: 1d8 + 2d6 ⇒ (7) + (1, 3) = 11

-and it hit his shoulder, a moment after Farod unleashed his own arrow at the one who'd shot him (a goblin holding a rather heavy-looking crossbow). The bolt went through the goblin's chest, and it hit the ground with a heavy thud. Another goblin (the one who'd been picking the back door) and an orc could be seen out front, and with a roar, the orc finally managed to break down the front door, clearing the way for a rush inside.

I second the question, also, just for protocol: I was firing out a window...Umbriak is holding the door. "Stepping out" related to the total cover provided by the wall next to the window. And ty, Ridley

Umbriak moved his bulk to block the Orc from entering as best he could, using his extra range that the increase in size had given him. He couldn't actually stop the up the door without stopping Ridley and Farod from fighting, which would be just rude, but he could make it so attempting to pass him meant risking the axe. "Come on then, shorty! The axe awaits!"

Umbriak's axe sunk deeply into the orc's chest, and he let out a pained roar before swinging out at the oversized dwarf with a silvery greataxe...

..and it hit with a mighty thwack, even as blood began to pour from the wound he'd taken. Another orc came into sight a moment later. Clad only in leather cords, bearskins, and a carved bear skull, this orc looked even more savage than the one dueling Umbriak. A three-pronged metal claw was strapped to his right hand, and he made a quick gesture with one hand, sending a spell of Command at Umbriak.

Tip: If you have a current, temporary modifier to your saves - like raging - you should include that in an OOC stat block at the bottom of your post to be sure it gets counted. Otherwise, it's very possible I'll forget about it, because I run waaaaaaay too many games to remember situational modifiers for every character. XD Doing this also ensures YOU don't forget about it, so you'll actually get the full value of your choices. Very useful all around.

Umbriak, Stunned creatures can't take actions - including move actions. ...Also, please break down your AC sources in your profile, 'cuz that can be relevant at times like this.

The old man was muttering something magic-sounding under his breath while his daughter, looking EXTREMELY nervous, tried to protect him.
