The bolts from mortal and spirit alike shot outwards - and pierced right through each of the Goblin's lungs, blasting it off of its mount and instantly slaying it. With a frightened yelp, the creature it had been using as a mount turned and started running off - and the man who'd been hiding behind the piled supplies slowly looked out and emerged - though he did let out a cry of alarm as he saw Mira's current condition. He was a fairly handsome, well-dressed man, if somewhat disheveled after the day's events, and hurried over to look at what was going on. "Is she all right?" he asked.

"She should be alright now, it appears the worst has passed." Tanwen notes after looking over the small child briefly. "She seemed rather strong for one so young in any case." Taking her gaze away from Mira and placing it upon the newcomer, Tanwen seems a bit confused. "I don't believe I have had the pleasure of meeting you, not that I know everyone in Sandpoint, but I at least assumed I knew all the pretty ones."

At -4, was hit for 4 earlier.

Prior to Fight's End:

The Goblin's weapon cut into Mira leaving a vicious gash in her midsection. Though she was tough for her age, she was still a child physically, and the wounds were more than her small form could handle. Looking down at the wound she saw blood flowing freely from the opening. "No..." she said in disbelief, clearly in shock as the red stain spread downwards from the wounds and blood pooled on the floor beneath her.

In the forest there had been few things she couldn't hunt, and fewer still that she couldn't outrun. She'd never been wounded like this before, and the realization that the wound might be mortal rushed through her mind along with visions of her mother's passing. "Andoril..." she called out weakly, looking about for the stag but seeing no sign of him. Her head began to spin and her legs collapsed out from under her, leaving her in a heap on the floor.

Moving over to the badly injured woman the lithe Tiefling dropped to his knee next to her, laying the heavy crossbow next to him as he looked her over. The Goblin's brutal weapon had left her badly wounded, and he could wounds on his own legs ache as the cold pavement pressing into the gashes. The blow to Mira's torso had left her on the edge of death.

Summoning what power he could, Shalluk laid his hand over the wound and concentrated. He could feel the wound closing slowly as he poured magic into healing the injury. After a moment, Shalluk took his hand away, hoping that it would be enough.

Cure Light Wounds: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (7) + 1 = 8

Casting an eye over the wound, Shalluk nodded. "That should do."

The man you saved let out a heavy sigh of relief - though not before looking nervously around. However, by now it was clear that the attack was all but over, and bodies were piled in the streets... mostly goblin, but a few of the residents of Sandpoint had clearly fallen in the attack. The man winces slightly, but quickly moves forward and grabs Mira's hand once Shalluk's healing was completed. "You risked yourself to save me." he said, gripping tightly. "All of you did, and..." his gaze focused onto Mira. "I don't think I've ever seen someone quite as beautiful or brave." He carefully offered to help Mira to her feet - taking great care the entire time - and looked at all three of you.

"My name is Aldern Foxglove." he said, bowing slightly. "I'm staying over at the Rusty Dragon, and I'll be in town for at least a few more days. I'm not sure what your own plans are, but I insist that you allow me to properly reward you for your courage today. I won't take 'No' for an answer!" He looked around expectantly, clearly hoping that the three of you would agree.

Mira awoke to find the tiefling kneeling over her with his hands pressed against her wound. "Sha... Shalluk was it? Th.. thank you." she managed to get out with a small smile through the fading pain. As her vision cleared she saw Tanwen and the man they'd been fighting to rescue standing over her as well. She began gathering herself and was caught off-guard when the man complimented her and offered his hand. With his help she stood up slowly, and briefly made eye contact with him as she did. The combination of his attention and the prior compliment made her self-aware, causing her face to turn a bright shade of red. She quickly looked away and stammered out "I... we... it was nothing. Th.. Thank you for helping me up," as she finished standing up.

Still obviously flushed she looked down at the gash left in her tunic by the goblin's blow. It seemed surreal at this point, like someone had got her a new set of clothes that had been cut and dyed to look as if it'd been sliced through. The dampness of the blood-soaked cloth and the pain from the arrow still lodged in her side quickly dispelled that illusion, however. She listened to Aldern's introduction and request that he be allowed to reward them, still trying to avoid making eye contact. "Maybe..." Mira said in an unsure tone, looking to Tanwen and Shalluk for some kind of reaction to the Aldern's request.

Turning back from the two towards Aldern, she scanned the surrounding area out of habit and thought briefly about Andoril. "Andoril! I need to check if he's ok!" she said in a slightly panicked voice. She took a deep breath, wincing as she did, and brought her fingers to her mouth. The sharp whistle that came out seemed disproportionately loud for her size, and seemed to echo off the surrounding buildings. With the town quieter now Mira hoped that he would be able to hear her call. While she wouldn't have normally worried about the elk, her condition only a few moments ago made it clear that he might also be vulnerable.

Assuming she can be heard by him: Arrival: 1d6 ⇒ 6 minutes

Though the steed has yet to appear, some quiet connection within you tells you that he's okay, and will soon arrive to aid you. The yelling and clamor of the city probably had prevented him from hearing you earlier.

"I don't know about the others, but I certainly didn't do this for a reward. And before I even think about accepting such a reward, I would have to hear what it was, besides, there are others that I need to check on to make sure that they are alright." Tanwen couldn't help but notice that this Aldern Foxglove seemed more interested in the younger, and shorter Mira then herself, but it didn't bother her much, this man was simply not her type anyway.

The goblins seem to have done a number today, that is for certain. I hope that The Pixie's Kitten is safe, as are it's inhabitants, I should also probably check on my parents, despite that I haven't seen them in awhile. Tanwen lets out a sigh as she collects her thoughts. "There are a lot of people I care about in this town, and I have to be certain that all of them are ok, if I have time, maybe I can stop by the Rusty Dragon after that."

Who knew that life as an adventurer could be so worrying, well, so much for thinking that Sandpoint was safe, that is for certain. "Aldern was it? Surely you understand that there are those whom each of us may be worried about and we couldn't accompany you directly to the Rusty Dragon without first being certain as to their safety."

"No, no, of course not!" he said quickly, waving his hands as if to dispel the idea. "I'm pristinely positive that things are a mess right now, even if it does look like those foul beasts are on the run!" he nodded to the gate, where it was possible to see a number of goblins still fleeing away from the city. "Not a very good time for delivering rewards - we'll get to that tomorrow, or maybe the day after. By all means, let's check on everyone else first and help whoever we can!" He didn't wait even a moment before striding back towards the cathedral's area, which seemed to have taken the brunt of the attack.

The Tiefling simply nodded at Mira's thanks. He felt bone tired, his magic almost exhausted and his own injuries ached hideously. But he was alive and moving and that was more than he could likely say for some of the town. The Goblin attack had been furious, if relatively brief, and Shalluk suspected that the town's healers and clerics would be busy this night.

As the man they had saved chattered and flirted, Shalluk simply listened, withdrawn into the hood of his robe. He wasn't sure if he would want a reward - or the recognition that would like as not come from it - but, equally, it would be rude to outright reject it. Still, the crossbowman would be interested to learn what it was.

As he listened, he realized the others must be local, given there concern for others in the town. Shalluk wasn't, and didn't really know anyone, so he had no one to check on. Glancing around at the carnage, Shalluk felt his stomach rebelling. The idea of doing nothing right then made his guts rebel. He glanced at the others and came to a decision.

"I have no one to check up on," the Tiefling said quietly. "If you wish it I will help you." Shalluk waited nervously for a reply. He could almost taste the usual rejection in the air, could feel it's shame burning in his memory. Still, he felt he had to try.

Mira seemed relieved now that it was just the three of them again. She thought for a bit about who to check up on in town, but Shalelu was the only one she really knew, and she was probably busy tracking goblins. When Shalluk stated that he hadn't anyone to check up on, she nodded sympathetically. "I don't have anyone to check up on either. If it makes you feel better you did a good job of checking up on me Shalluk!" she added with a smile.

"I don't live in the town, it's too crowded and noisy, and Andoril doesn't like it much either. I don't think it's safe out there for me now. Would it be ok if I followed you two around as well?" she asked the two tentatively.

Shalluk's eyes widened slightly in surprise. He wasn't used to receiving compliments. At the edge of his hearing he could hear the spirits that haunted him, reminding him why it was so rare. His curse was sometimes a source of frustration for those around him, and he didn't like others getting involved.

But Mira seemed nice. And she had complimented him...

"I...thank you." Shalluk glanced to the sun, feeling it's warmth and the energy it provided his powers. Weak as they were now he knew they would be restored with the dawn, and that brought him comfort during the stressful and confusing time he seemed to be having today.

"I have no objection to you coming with me, if it pleases you." Whether Tanwen objected to either or both of them coming with her Shalluk couldn't guess. The fiery knight made him nervous, he knew that much. But she was skilled and powerful too, and seemed like a decent person.

At least, she hadn't tried setting him on fire...yet.

Tanwen had to think for a moment, it would certainly be weird showing up with these two at The Pixie's Kitten, let alone her parent's house, and she didn't imagine her former master would look kindly upon the red skinned one, after all he had a hard enough time with normal Chelish, and was Mira even old enough to visit The Pixie's Kitten?

"If you wanted to come along, I wouldn't stop you, though I'm not entirely sure what will happen." She paused for a moment, realizing that now would probably be a good time to finish introductions. "I should probably tell you two more about who I am, as I mentioned earlier, my name is Tanwen Anwyl, but if you wanted to come along to check up on those who I know it would be wise to tell you now what sort of people we would be visiting. First there is my employer, Kaye Tesarani who runs the local brothel, The Pixie's Kitten, where I work." She paused for a moment to see if the two of them understood what that meant before continuing.

"And then there is my former master, Gaven Deverin, a Paladin of Abadar and owner of the Two Knight Brewery. Finally, there are my parents, whom I have not seen for awhile, they live in a small cabbage farm just outside of town."

Male Tiefling Brawler 1 | HP 12/12 | AC: 18, T: 13, FF: 15 | Fort: +4, Ref: +5, Will: +2 | BAB: +1, CMB: +6, CMD: 19, | Init: +2 | Perception: +6 |

Shalluk considered for a moment. "A brothel sounds like a likely target for Goblins if they were spotted, as they'd look like easy targets, especially as you are here and not there." It wasn't like they would be wearing armour. At least, not real armour. He had seen a woman wearing some kind of pretend armour that didn't really offer enough protection even from the customer's groping hands, but hadn't really understood the appeal.

"And a brewery seems like a likely target too." Although the fact it was owned by a Paladin and there wasn't a large plume of smoke and fire suggested the Goblins hadn't gotten in. "And of course your parents should be checked on, along with any other outlying farms and homes." Those were the ones Shalluk was most concerned about, as they were the most likely to be attacked by the fleeing greenskins. If they'd been attacked before hand then the town itself would likely have had some warning.

The Tiefling pulled his hood forward slightly out of habit. With luck, the Goblins were still running. He wasn't in any shape to fight them. But he had offered, and intended to make good on it. "Would horses help speed up the search? Are the distances great enough to need one?"

"A brothel?" Mira asked quizzically. She hadn't actually heard the term before, although she'd seen that place in her various wanderings about the town. "What's that, and why do you work there?" she asked innocently.

"Of course we should check on your friends and family, they're important!" Mira said without waiting for any answers to her questions. "I don't mind waiting outside if you're nervous," she added, clearly sensing some hesitation on Tanwen's part.

"We should find some place to bathe, where do you bathe in town? Do you go down to the shore?"she asked. She hadn't noticed many down at the shore, and there clearly wasn't a river around. The town had a well, maybe they took water from that? It seemed silly to her though. "Andoril and I usually try to keep to rivers so we don't end up smelling like salt" she added tangentially, scrunching her nose at the thought.

As a relatively prosperous town, most of the bathing in Sandpoint is done in private baths within homes, though visitors usually take advantage of the facilities at their inn of choice. A quick examination of the area - and recalling what happened earlier - does provide a bit more information on the attack... it seemed to have been concentrated on the northeastern side of the city, near the cathedral, and the simple lack of things being on fire suggests that the goblins hadn't gone in their direction. The attack was brutal, but localized.

The brothel and brewery were well outside the range of the goblin attack, but you are welcome to roleplay checking on them if you'd like to.

Tanwen didn't feel comfortable describing what a brothel was to Mira, not because she was embarrassed or uncomfortable with her line of work, but simply because it didn't seem like something the younger girl needed to know about.

"When you're older, you'll understand." She simply told Mira, as they began to realize that the attack was seemingly focused on the area surrounding the cathedral rather then the entire town as a whole. While it seemed odd to attack just the cathedral, most of the people from town were indeed near the cathedral now due to the celebration of it's reconstruction.

"Doesn't it seem a little odd to you that the goblins would only attack this area? And why the cathedral, would it not have been easier to attack the rest of the town while everyone was focused on the festival?"

"They are chaotic, self-destructive." Shalluk ran an eye over the carnage, feeling ill once again. "Maybe they decided to attack it simply because it is the largest thing around? But you would think they'd go through some other things as well, if only because they're too uncontrollable to keep them focused."

Shalluk paused. Goblins were vicious and random. They were pretty close to uncontrollable. "So what," he murmured, "Could keep a pack of Goblins mostly focused on one area?"

Mira didn't seem terribly bothered by the lack of explanation from Tanwen over her line of work. When she pointed out that the attack was confined to the region around the cathedral, though, she paused to think.

She nodded in agreement with Shalluk's observation of the goblins' nature. "In my tribe they often spoke of goblins more like a natural disaster more than anything. Not like when they dealt with giants or other threats... A storm would affect the entire town, not just a little bit." She paused again for a moment to look in the direction of the cathedral and then turned to the others grinning. "I don't know what could do that... I know, lets go find out!"

"But how would we find out? It's not likely that the goblins will tell us, dead or alive. Perhaps we should check out a few of the taverns after all as they are probably a good a place to start as any." Tanwen knew a thing or two about loosening the tongues of the people around here, typically it would be as easy as a few bottles of spirits, though other times it might involve other methods.

"After something like this, people will talk all too easily, especially in a tavern."

Mira obviously thought that going to talk to people sounded a tad ponderous. "It's faster to just go see for ourselves near the cathedral! If something came with the goblins we'll be able to smell them and see their tracks." she said matter-of-factly. "Unless they're ghosts... Do you think the goblins have ghosts guarding them like Shalluk does? The woman had no smell at all. It would be impossible to find them if they were ghosts." She looked concerned as she stopped to ponder the thought.

"Also, if there are goblins left to hunt or people to help they'll be near there too." she added almost as an afterthought when she had finished picturing the ghostly goblin guardians.

Word had started to spread that the attack seemed honestly over - and here and there, you can see people starting to emerge from buildings and look around. One of these people is a young woman with a long, slender sword in one hand - and every now and then, as she walks, she jabs a goblin's body just to be absolutely sure they're dead. As she catches sight of you from down the street, she waves with one hand.

Residents of Sandpoint:
You recognize her as Ameiko Kaijitsu, owner of the Rusty Dragon - a place you've probably visited at least a few times, for the food if nothing else.

"I am quite good at spotting spirits," Shalluk replied, "And many other things too." His eyes were unusual, and he could see the life force surrounding most things if he tried. "We should check the cathedral area anyway, just to be safe, but I imagine the town guard is there in force now searching for wounded people and stray goblins."

Glancing at the waving woman, Shalluk vaguely recognized her from the free food earlier. He assumed she was waving to one of the others, but nodded politely from the depths of his hood, the material bouncing lightly as he did.

"It wouldn't be a terrible idea to check the cathedral, but it looks like one of the tavern-keeps have already found us." Tanwen wasn't very familiar with Ameiko as she had few excuses to frequent the local taverns. Others in her line of business might frequent the bars to find customers, but thanks to the reputation of The Pixie's Kitten doing so was hardly needed in Sandpoint.

"Did you find many goblins to kill? I think we managed to eliminate most of them." Tanwen called out to Ameiko as she noticed the older woman poking goblins every once in awhile.

Mira waved back at Ameiko and smiled, recognizing her fairly quickly as one of the first people Shalelu had introduced her to after the Sherrif. It was strange seeing someone going around checking to see if the goblins were dead by stabbing them. She wondered if they'd done that to the giants as well back before she'd left.

She started to walk towards Ameiko, thinking it likely that they'd ask her more questions, but stopped after a few feet. Turning, she ran back to where they'd fought and grabbed her bow, which was still lying on the ground. Mira sprinted back to the group and after arriving dusted it off and unstrung it to inspect it closely. "Almost forgot it!" she said as she looked over the bowstaff. Satisfied, she restrung the bow and slid it over her quiver.

"Do you know if anyone saw anything other than goblins? Shalluk and Tanwen thought it was strange that they didn't go all over the city." she asked Ameiko as she gestured to her two companions.

"Doesn't seem like there were enough of them for that." Ameiko said, gesturing to the bodies. "A larger raid group would've kept going, but it looks like somebody stopped their advance south while the guards blocked up the western areas..." she grinned widely. "You're new." she added, glancing at Shalluk before her gaze moved over to Mira, who'd always been at least a little bit of a vagrant. "Ameiko Kaijitsu, owner of the Rusty Dragon, you probably had my food earlier. Free rooms for a week at my place if you want them - anyone who's so good at killing goblins deserves at least that much." She didn't seem to be the kind of person who was too concerned with the minor details.

"Free rooms? Typically when someone invites me to their place I am the one getting paid." Tanwen replies jokingly, tossing Ameiko a sly smirk. "So, any idea what the goblins were doing attacking such a specific location?" Tanwen asks, directing the question to the young tavern-keep now.

"We decided it seemed very odd that they would strike such a specific location and not attack a wider area."

The innkeeper shrugged. "Because it looks like they came in from the north and this is pretty close to the gates?" she inquired, blinking slightly at the question. "A couple of streets is a wide area for goblins - and like I said, it looks like you pushed them back before they managed to get further in. Doesn't seem too odd to me, and I've hunted quite a few of the mangy little menaces myself - you sure your head didn't get banged up?" This seemed to be an honest question - she looks slightly worried about Tanwen.

Mira wasn't entirely sure what to do with the offer for a room, sleeping indoors seemed like a terrible way to rest. The food was good though, she remembered, so perhaps it wouldn't be so bad. Worst case she could always sneak out at night and find someplace less confining to sleep.

As she was thinking about it, she seemed to catch a whiff of something in the air, and turned to look towards the gates. There, charging down the street at a good clip was a great white stag. "Andoril!" she called out excitedly to him. As he approached, she took a more serious tone "Where were you? Are you ok?" she asked him. Andoril responded by snorting and pawing at the ground with his hoof once. "Oh! You didn't hear me until just a bit ago?" she responded as if she were having a normal conversation with the elk. The elk seemed to notice where the wounds were and sniffed at them in a worried fashion. "Oh don't worry, I'll be ok now, Shalluk helped with that." she responded and rubbed the elk's neck reassuringly.

"Tanwen, Shalluk, this is Andoril! Andoril, say hello." The elk snorted and swung his head down briefly before lifting it up and looking at the two. "And that's Ameiko," she added quickly realizing she'd left her out of the introduction.

After she was satisfied that Andoril was properly introduced to everyone, she picked up where the conversation had dropped off. "I'm sure Tanwen is ok, she got banged up the least of us I think. She was way luckier than me!" she observed.

"The Goblins seemed to prefer blades," the fairly literal Shalluk added. "I didn't see any blunt weapons. Of course, there may have been some rocks or some such involved." The lanky Tiefling shrugged, slightly uncomfortable with the conversation, but at least reassured that the situation wasn't too odd - by Goblin attack standards at least.

Turning, he bowed slightly to the Elk. "Greetings, Andoril." Shalluk had no idea how intelligent the creature was, but it seemed to understand Mira's speech at least, and it never hurt to treat a creature with antlers like that with respect. Not to mention a well placed hoof could inflict quite a bit of harm.

Still, it would be nice to sleep in doors, have a hot meal and possibly even a warm bath. While his crossbow meant he hadn't got much Goblin spatter on himself, washing his wounds and binding them would have to be a priority - once they'd checke everything else out.

"May have had something to do with the plates landing on my face." Tanwen answers with a shrug. "Well, what doesn't kill you only makes you stronger they say."

Suddenly distracted by seeing an elk walking through the middle of town though was not something Tanwen had expected to see. "Is it just me or is Andoril an Elk? Maybe those plates hit me harder then I thought." She does however wave hello to the Elk as she confirms with the others that she is in fact not going completely bonkers.

Ameiko, too, looked slightly taken aback... but recovered quickly as she simply nodded to the elk. Under her breath, you heard her mention "No hunting venison for a bit." With a wave, though, the lady is soon on her way - presumably to reassure her patrons and make sure there are no problems anywhere else in the town. You're free to investigate and look around, but you may not be able to learn very much until the town's been put in order.

Mira giggled at Tanwen's observation. "Of course he's an elk! what else would he be?" she replied as if it were the most logical thing in the world. Her laughter, however, was interrupted by a sudden rumble of her stomach, causing her to look down and then at the others. "Umm, maybe we should go to the Rusty Dragon now, I think all the goblin fighting made me hungry!" she said sheepishly.

Shalluk glanced at the others. Perhaps it was because he'd spent more time hiding in the woods than in towns, but he'd heard and seen of plenty of people who kept an animal as a companion. Admittedly, he'd never heard of one who was treated quite so...humanoid as the big Elk was. It wouldn't have occurred to him, from her description, that it was an animal. But it didn't surprise him the way it seemed to have shocked the others.

However, he certainly agreed with Ameiko - no venison for a while.

"Perhaps a visit would not be completely unfounded, it was certainly a good way to work up an appetite to be certain."

With everyone in agreement, Mira begins heading to the inn, led by her desire to get something to eat. Along the way she bids Andoril farewell, warning him to keep a close eye out for goblins or other things out there for now.

The Rusty Dragon inn - located in the southern part of town, and thereby untouched by the goblin raid - isn't very difficult to find. The large building is the oldest inn in the town, and tends to house more travelers than anywhere else, making it a popular stop for everyone except the richest visitors to Sandpoint.

As you step in, you're greeted by roars and applause from the patrons inside, many of whom look delighted to see you.

"Oy, come in already!" one of them calls, raising a large mug. "We want to hear everything straight from the source!" More than a few people look like they agree, and one thing is more than clear - the three of you are welcome here.

"Usually a girl gets to wine and dine before she squeals like a swine." Tanwen says with a wink to the audience as she steps into the tavern, however, her tone was playful and she seemed more then willing to share the story.

"So as I'm sure you all are aware, today was the Swallowtail festival, but it would seem that someone had other plans for today, which marked the reopening of the reconstructed cathedral which burned down years ago. Just as Father Zantus had finished recounting his story about Desna, out of nowhere the goblins attacked, and chaos erupted." Tanwen pauses for suspense and to take a swig of a drink that had been brought to her at this time, gulping down half the glass in a single gulp.

"There were goblins everywhere, and many of Sandpoint's citizens were fleeing, but myself I saw this as an opportunity to strike back at the goblins, and I immanently engaged in combat with the nearest goblin I could find. Of course, the goblins were small and swift, and my blade could not easily find a home in their chests, that is when I noticed that this fight was not mine to be won alone, luckily for me, there were others, these two, Mira and Shalluk." She paused once more, gesturing to the others, and giving them a chance to speak now that she had set the scene.

Mira walked in trying to stay somewhat hidden behind her new and thankfully larger friends. She definitely wasn't at home in a crowd, especially with the attention focused on the three of them, but Tanwen stepping up to tell the story took that off her mind. Starving, she managed to secure a large chunk of bread and some water quickly and sat herself down on a stool to enjoy the story.

Listening to Tanwen's masterful retelling of the day's events and seeing the crowd enthralled by her was fascinating to Mira. So much so that she had nearly forgotten that she wasn't just a part of the audience when Tanwen finished and pointed out both her and Shalluk. Caught in the middle of taking an overly large bite of her bread, the sudden attention caused her to panic briefly, making her swallow the bread prematurely and rush to wash it down with water. After a cough or two she regained her composure only to find everyone looking at her. "Umm..." she started quietly, "I just wanted to help out, it wasn't anything anyone else wouldn't have done, right?" she said looking half-questioningly at Shalluk and Tanwen. "And anyway, if it wasn't for Shalluk and Tanwen the goblins probably would've gotten me too," she added sincerely.

"Spoken like a true hero." the man who'd called out said, grinning widely.

Ameiko emerged from the kitchen a moment later, looking more than half-impressed. "You want a job performing here?" she asked Tanwen. "You keep entertaining people like that and I guarantee you'll get paid more than at the Pus-" she glanced towards Mira. "Ah, I mean, the Kitten."

"I don't know Ameiko, the tips can be pretty large, not that I do it just for the money." Tanwen responds, politely turning down Ameiko with a wink.

"Now, don't let my diminutive friend's stature or humility fool you, this little girl packs a pretty powerful punch, or shall I say hoof. I don't entirely understand it, but her hands changed into these hooves and she would kick the goblins like a goat, or I guess an Elk. And Shalluk there, he's pretty good with a crossbow, he took out more then a few of the goblins with but a single shot. So there were bolts, hooves and fire everywhere, mostly from the goblins mind you. And the goblins outnumbered us, easily, but now we are here, and they are not, so it is obvious which side was victorious."

Male Tiefling Brawler 1 | HP 12/12 | AC: 18, T: 13, FF: 15 | Fort: +4, Ref: +5, Will: +2 | BAB: +1, CMB: +6, CMD: 19, | Init: +2 | Perception: +6 |

Shalluk was mostly silent, not especially wishing to draw attention to himself. He was much more comfortable with Tanwen drawing attention to herself with her tale, and therefore as much of the credit as she could. That was perfect for Shalluk, and he winced a little every time his name came up, hiding further into the hood of his cloak.

The Tiefling did glance over at Mira. He was curious as to her power. He still assumed she was some kind of Tiefling, but he'd certainly never heard of anything like that. Actually warping your own flesh into weaopons seemed odd, even for one of the Hell Born races.

Then again, he had heard of Tieflings with a fascination for fire. Even if Tanwen looked like a human, she breathed fire apparently without magic - she obviously had a touch of something else in her heritage, just like Mira. And Shalluk himself. Then again, both Shalluk's parents were both humans as far as anyone knew...

Glancing at the expectant crowd, and the slightly tounge tied Mira, Shalluk added, "Any who had the power too fight did. Those who didn't wisely ran. I wish only that casualties this day are as low as we could possibly manage in the town. I am afraid my powers are mostly depleted, otherwise I would try and heal some of the wounded."

"Well, miracles are the domain of the gods. Most of us have to make our own." One of the patrons said, lifting his glass in tribute. Ameiko came back out of the kitchen a moment later, bowls of hot food in her hand - and it seemed that you'd have at least a few hours to relax in the friendly atmosphere of the inn... it would certainly take that long for the town to get properly organized after the day's events.

Mira wasted no time digging into her bowl of stew, demonstrating an appetite that would've been a better fit for a person twice her size. After she'd eaten her fill, she rubbed her belly in satisfaction. "This isn't what I was expecting today at all. I wonder if I'll wake up tomorrow in the forest with all this having been a dream," she said to the two, laughing at the thought.

Shalluk glanced over at the other two. "Today has been...much different to what I am used." Shalluk considered what he was used to. Hiding in the forest, scare to light a fire in case he was found. Being chased from town by angry villagers trying to get rid of the devil spawn they saw him as. Waiting for a deer to pass so he could drop it with the crossbow, desperate for it's fat as a lubricant to keep the crossbow going as much as for the meat...

The Tiefling munched down a final mouthful of food before shoving the plate aside and nodding. "Yes, today has been better." Food, thanks and a bed for the night. Shalluk was happy to exchange a dozen wounds for those things.

Shalluk glanced around. "I wonder if there is a bath here I could use...?" The lanky tiefling glanced around, seeing if there was any signs about. Literal signs or simply hints. A hot bath would be good, but a cold one would do - he wanted to wash and bind his wounds before he slept.

One of the patrons pointed towards a hallway. "Ask for Bethana - small, halfling woman that works here." they said. "It'll take her a bit to fill up the tub proper-like." One could only haul buckets of water so quickly - those who could cast spells for this had it much easier.

Mira had finished wolfing down her food when Shalluk asked about a bath. When the patron explained that Bethana handled that, she turned to him and exclaimed " Oh, I can help fill it up! Can she create water as well?" And then, was common for the girl, she bolted off to find Bethana without waiting for a reply from the man. As she headed down the hallway she turned to Shalluk, "Come on you slow poke!"

Like Shalluk, she wondered if the bath water would be hot as she waited for him to catch up. She remembered those from when she was with the tribe. It didn't happen often, but it was very nice when it did. In the forest she'd just bathed in the streams like Andoril, or doused herself in water she created when there wasn't any water deep enough around.

Digging into the stew, Tanwen comments, "I think I will pass on the bath for now." Taking a bath, hot or cold, alone did not seem like the thing to do right now, she realized that others wanted to clean up and celebrate that the town had been defended, but Tanwen worried that there might be something else, and she had an itching for an adventure.

Diplomacy (Gather Information): 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (17) + 7 = 24

Already being in a tavern and all, Tanwen decided to ask around to see if anyone had heard of anything weird about the behavior of the local goblin population, beyond today's attack of course.

Shalluk nodded to the patron. "My thanks." Glancing over at Mira's retreating back, and Tanwen moving to ask people things, Shalluk decided to go get cleaned up. They could follow up on anything Tanwen found out once he was clean and his wounds had stopped aching quite so much.
