If the witches are using low magic and are in sight, I can banish all low magic in sight (unimpeded by the fog). But it would require to use my last Effort for the day, so I'll keep it for an emergency.

There is no witch in sight. Not unless you find a way to see through solid objects, anyway.

The Dreaming Nightingale 2 | Passion, Sun, Night, Time | HP 14/14 | AC 0 | Hardiness 13, Evasion 11, Spirit 11 | R. Atk +5 (1d10+3) | Effort: 0/3 | Committed: Damn Their Eyes (scene), Purging Noonday Blaze (2, day)

That... can be arranged. Or I could mass-dispel the undead.

1 person marked this as a favorite.

Note that not all of the undead are in sight range - both distance and physical obstructions mean Purging Noonday Blaze would only get some of them, and they could probably be reanimated again. It's still an option, of course. XD It's entirely up to you whether you'd like to put your effort into that, or retain it for some other use.

The Dreaming Nightingale 2 | Passion, Sun, Night, Time | HP 14/14 | AC 0 | Hardiness 13, Evasion 11, Spirit 11 | R. Atk +5 (1d10+3) | Effort: 0/3 | Committed: Damn Their Eyes (scene), Purging Noonday Blaze (2, day)

I see, I hadn't thought about the size of the ship. But I'm just starting to get creative...

1 person marked this as a favorite.

As always, you're free to ask about the probable result of using a power before you actually do it. ^^/ My goal isn't for you to be confused about what your abilities do, after all, and I'm happy to look things over and help you get the information you need.

The Dreaming Nightingale 2 | Passion, Sun, Night, Time | HP 14/14 | AC 0 | Hardiness 13, Evasion 11, Spirit 11 | R. Atk +5 (1d10+3) | Effort: 0/3 | Committed: Damn Their Eyes (scene), Purging Noonday Blaze (2, day)

There might have been a bit of miscommunication, I didn't fly with them, I attacked the other ship's helmsman from Jebat's one.

Hm? Ah. Well, in that case, feel free to disregard the attacks against you. XD

The Dreaming Nightingale 2 | Passion, Sun, Night, Time | HP 14/14 | AC 0 | Hardiness 13, Evasion 11, Spirit 11 | R. Atk +5 (1d10+3) | Effort: 0/3 | Committed: Damn Their Eyes (scene), Purging Noonday Blaze (2, day)

I read more carefully the description of the Fray die, it's not rolled straight, I had misunderstood.

'S fine. XD We're all new to the system, after all, so don't worry about it.

The Dreaming Nightingale 2 | Passion, Sun, Night, Time | HP 14/14 | AC 0 | Hardiness 13, Evasion 11, Spirit 11 | R. Atk +5 (1d10+3) | Effort: 0/3 | Committed: Damn Their Eyes (scene), Purging Noonday Blaze (2, day)

I'm out of miracles and ideas. Khatef, perhaps you can either deceive him or use the Luck attack? Jebat with Command?

The Storm Captain | HP 14/14 | AC 4 | Hardiness 10, Evasion 12, Spirit 12 | Words: Command, Might & Sky | Committed effort: Sapphire Wings & Clouds Below

Are the undead still animating? I'm feel like jebat is out of the main encounter in order to hold back the undead. Am I understanding the scene correctly?

They're still healing the damage done to them, yes. Whether or not you want to continue attacking is, of course, up to you.

The Storm Captain | HP 14/14 | AC 4 | Hardiness 10, Evasion 12, Spirit 12 | Words: Command, Might & Sky | Committed effort: Sapphire Wings & Clouds Below

No worries. Just wanted to feel useful.

Cheers

The Dreaming Nightingale 2 | Passion, Sun, Night, Time | HP 14/14 | AC 0 | Hardiness 13, Evasion 11, Spirit 11 | R. Atk +5 (1d10+3) | Effort: 0/3 | Committed: Damn Their Eyes (scene), Purging Noonday Blaze (2, day)

I was thinking of using a miracle to dispel her...

Dispel her what?

The Dreaming Nightingale 2 | Passion, Sun, Night, Time | HP 14/14 | AC 0 | Hardiness 13, Evasion 11, Spirit 11 | R. Atk +5 (1d10+3) | Effort: 0/3 | Committed: Damn Their Eyes (scene), Purging Noonday Blaze (2, day)

Whatever is keeping her under mental control or her Death sphere. Beatrice might be slightly annoyed if we murder a girl who's chained to a wall.

The Storm Captain | HP 14/14 | AC 4 | Hardiness 10, Evasion 12, Spirit 12 | Words: Command, Might & Sky | Committed effort: Sapphire Wings & Clouds Below

Have you considered that she is the bad guy. Speaking through the guy who heals because he's dead like everything else on the ship? That's my theory.

The Dreaming Nightingale 2 | Passion, Sun, Night, Time | HP 14/14 | AC 0 | Hardiness 13, Evasion 11, Spirit 11 | R. Atk +5 (1d10+3) | Effort: 0/3 | Committed: Damn Their Eyes (scene), Purging Noonday Blaze (2, day)

It's possible, but he could also be an intelligent undead, and I see no practical reason for getting chained, unless she was somehow expecting boarders. Either way, blocking her undead-bolstering capabilities should help somehow, and if we can interrogate we have a lie detector. Perhaps you could come inside and use Command, or similar?

The Storm Captain | HP 14/14 | AC 4 | Hardiness 10, Evasion 12, Spirit 12 | Words: Command, Might & Sky | Committed effort: Sapphire Wings & Clouds Below

Jebat could go inside. But remember what happened to us on the other ship. The mob of undead can actually hurt us, too. That's why I clarified with the GM about the assembling undead. Also, someone could shout to and tell jebat what's going on.
Cheers

So sorry! As I said briefly before I had a few diabetic complications. Everything is fine now but it had to be sorted out and between that and work I just didn't find enough time to write up a decent post. Sorry all! Posted now though.

Your health is the most important thing. o wo/

The Dreaming Nightingale 2 | Passion, Sun, Night, Time | HP 14/14 | AC 0 | Hardiness 13, Evasion 11, Spirit 11 | R. Atk +5 (1d10+3) | Effort: 0/3 | Committed: Damn Their Eyes (scene), Purging Noonday Blaze (2, day)

Anyone has preferences on how to name the girl? I'm for Stella.

Martha, clearly.

[Two years later]

"So, you ended up starting a war between yourselves and destroying your world because..."
"We couldn't agree on what to name a kid."
"........."
"Well, the good news is that you're not going to hell for this. You have your own realms and the angels don't want you. Carry on."

The Dreaming Nightingale 2 | Passion, Sun, Night, Time | HP 14/14 | AC 0 | Hardiness 13, Evasion 11, Spirit 11 | R. Atk +5 (1d10+3) | Effort: 0/3 | Committed: Damn Their Eyes (scene), Purging Noonday Blaze (2, day)

Or the poor girl will end up with four names. I can settle for Sara.

The Dreaming Nightingale 2 | Passion, Sun, Night, Time | HP 14/14 | AC 0 | Hardiness 13, Evasion 11, Spirit 11 | R. Atk +5 (1d10+3) | Effort: 0/3 | Committed: Damn Their Eyes (scene), Purging Noonday Blaze (2, day)

HAH! Coup!

The Dreaming Nightingale 2 | Passion, Sun, Night, Time | HP 14/14 | AC 0 | Hardiness 13, Evasion 11, Spirit 11 | R. Atk +5 (1d10+3) | Effort: 0/3 | Committed: Damn Their Eyes (scene), Purging Noonday Blaze (2, day)

I think we sort of posted over each other, I'm up for chatting. I let out how I got to the other ship, I guessed sailors would have a way.

I didn't want to say anything, but it was kinda weird.

The Dreaming Nightingale 2 | Passion, Sun, Night, Time | HP 14/14 | AC 0 | Hardiness 13, Evasion 11, Spirit 11 | R. Atk +5 (1d10+3) | Effort: 0/3 | Committed: Damn Their Eyes (scene), Purging Noonday Blaze (2, day)

I didn't want to look inactive and I thought your conversation was ending, I'm sorry if it was awkward. We can pretend it never happened or just move forward, as you please.

I think there's plenty of ways to justify you getting over here. Kostya super-leap, Jebat ferry, that kind of thing. I wasn't sure how to respond to the actual thing, I'll settle for a question.

The Storm Captain | HP 14/14 | AC 4 | Hardiness 10, Evasion 12, Spirit 12 | Words: Command, Might & Sky | Committed effort: Sapphire Wings & Clouds Below

Beatrice, just assume you're there now, so we can role-play.

Kostya can join when he wants.

cheers

The Storm Captain | HP 14/14 | AC 4 | Hardiness 10, Evasion 12, Spirit 12 | Words: Command, Might & Sky | Committed effort: Sapphire Wings & Clouds Below

Have we lost Kostya?

I'm ready to fast-forward to Savona?

Seriously, what are we doing with the waif?

cheers

The Dreaming Nightingale 2 | Passion, Sun, Night, Time | HP 14/14 | AC 0 | Hardiness 13, Evasion 11, Spirit 11 | R. Atk +5 (1d10+3) | Effort: 0/3 | Committed: Damn Their Eyes (scene), Purging Noonday Blaze (2, day)

I think we have lost him, yes :|
We can fast-forward if we want, and about Stella I don't know. We may look for a nice place to leave her, or we could try and bring her with us, although being in battle might not be the best for her mental health.

Beside that, what are we going to do in Fidenza? Hunt for the assassins? Look for trouble? Look for a Night Road to find some shards?

The Storm Captain | HP 14/14 | AC 4 | Hardiness 10, Evasion 12, Spirit 12 | Words: Command, Might & Sky | Committed effort: Sapphire Wings & Clouds Below

If we remove Stella from the scene, Jebat would discuss how we want to change the world. Which might inform what we do next.

We're only going to Fidenza because of Beatrice, so you might want to answer your own question.

We can short-circuit the "how do we want to change the world" conversation here if you want. Jebat's goals are simple.
- Make his home Archipelago dominate the world's oceans, like the British Empire.
- Ensure that this goal bring prosperity to his home
- He's not keen on the current Empire nor slavery as an institution

cheers

The Dreaming Nightingale 2 | Passion, Sun, Night, Time | HP 14/14 | AC 0 | Hardiness 13, Evasion 11, Spirit 11 | R. Atk +5 (1d10+3) | Effort: 0/3 | Committed: Damn Their Eyes (scene), Purging Noonday Blaze (2, day)

About the "What to do" in Fidenza, I wanted to move things along towards one of my goals so that we didn't get swamped trying to decide, but I wanted to be sure that everyone is on board (pun not intended) with the idea.

The Storm Captain | HP 14/14 | AC 4 | Hardiness 10, Evasion 12, Spirit 12 | Words: Command, Might & Sky | Committed effort: Sapphire Wings & Clouds Below

Yeah. I understand. That was why I suggested savona.

Since this is a sandbox campaign, we really need to decide what we're going to do.

Cheers

Yeah, that helps. o wo Being willing to decide for yourselves - not just wait for the GM to drop a plot - is one of the most fundamental parts of this sort of sandbox campaign.

You may want to consider some type of decision-making system - for example, if one person suggests an action and another agrees, the whole group rolls with it instead of debating for awhile. XD As far as what efforts to pursue, anyway.

The Storm Captain | HP 14/14 | AC 4 | Hardiness 10, Evasion 12, Spirit 12 | Words: Command, Might & Sky | Committed effort: Sapphire Wings & Clouds Below

@Rednal

The only thing we got right now is going to Savona.

Jebat would meet with his factor about the prizes and loot and his patron to get his opinion of the God thing. Both those can be PMed and fast if you want.

Beyond that he's got goals (the Archipelago Empire) but no strategy to implement. And since this is not a solo campaign, he'd be ready to pursue other people's goals if they want.

Also, I'm good with suggestion and a second makes the decision. Thanks

Cheers

The Dreaming Nightingale 2 | Passion, Sun, Night, Time | HP 14/14 | AC 0 | Hardiness 13, Evasion 11, Spirit 11 | R. Atk +5 (1d10+3) | Effort: 0/3 | Committed: Damn Their Eyes (scene), Purging Noonday Blaze (2, day)

So, it looks like we are ready. We'll meet with Jebat's patron in Savona first thing, then unless something weird happens We'll go north towards Fidenza. It surely looks like we have lost Kostya, should we call someone from the recruitment?

I'm thinking on that. I'll give it another little bit, then go ahead and take another look at the recruitment.

The Storm Captain | HP 14/14 | AC 4 | Hardiness 10, Evasion 12, Spirit 12 | Words: Command, Might & Sky | Committed effort: Sapphire Wings & Clouds Below

My family is leaving for a week vacation tomorrow. My posting will be spotty. Bot me as necessary. Thanks

Cheers

The Dreaming Nightingale 2 | Passion, Sun, Night, Time | HP 14/14 | AC 0 | Hardiness 13, Evasion 11, Spirit 11 | R. Atk +5 (1d10+3) | Effort: 0/3 | Committed: Damn Their Eyes (scene), Purging Noonday Blaze (2, day)

So, Jebat is on vacation, Kostya has not shown. Khatef, are you still here?

The Storm Captain | HP 14/14 | AC 4 | Hardiness 10, Evasion 12, Spirit 12 | Words: Command, Might & Sky | Committed effort: Sapphire Wings & Clouds Below

I'm checking.

*Juggles a few things* o wo Well, what do the rest of ya think... time to replace?

I mean, plot-wise I can explain it as the character ignoring the potential problems and going off on his own if you'd rather try to stick with three people.

The Dreaming Nightingale 2 | Passion, Sun, Night, Time | HP 14/14 | AC 0 | Hardiness 13, Evasion 11, Spirit 11 | R. Atk +5 (1d10+3) | Effort: 0/3 | Committed: Damn Their Eyes (scene), Purging Noonday Blaze (2, day)

I think that it may be worthwhile to look for someone else.

The Storm Captain | HP 14/14 | AC 4 | Hardiness 10, Evasion 12, Spirit 12 | Words: Command, Might & Sky | Committed effort: Sapphire Wings & Clouds Below

Replace. I've found that it's better to start with 6+ players, because inevitably 1 or 2 drop and 4+ is a good number for RP.

It's more difficult at the beginning but gives the game more legs.

Cheers

The Dreaming Nightingale 2 | Passion, Sun, Night, Time | HP 14/14 | AC 0 | Hardiness 13, Evasion 11, Spirit 11 | R. Atk +5 (1d10+3) | Effort: 0/3 | Committed: Damn Their Eyes (scene), Purging Noonday Blaze (2, day)

Are Storm Dragon (Khatef, the Beggar God) and Sundakan (Khatef) the same person?

New account for reasons, but yes, I believe so.

Yes.
