Kaven Blackwind |
Kaven shrugs and reflects on whether it is more irritating if the priests are just ignorant of their temples and lore, or feel sharing their knowledge with outsiders would in some way diminish their own power or influence.
"Well I have no further needs besides a good night's rest. Let's meet here in the morning and depart for the temple."
Kaven departs for a local inn where he had a room.
Khere |
Khere smiled at the catfolk woman.
"Greetings my lady. I am Khere, a paladin of Anubis, guardian deity of the dead and departed. It is my pleasure to meet such an attractive and valiant woman as you," the aasimar said, introducing himself.
"If I may be so bold, are you a follower of Sekhmet or Bastet?"
Khere continued to smile as he flirted with the feline Milah.
And once again, Khere's ladies' man side shows itself!
Braydir Thornak |
Braydir has grown accustom to introducing himself to new members of the Silver Seekers. Somehow he has worked himself into the role of a veteran in the group and performs his routine backslapping ritual followed by a celebratory mug of ale. Or three.
I think we should move on. Let's get the ball rolling again.
GM Redelia |
You rest and prepare for your final site to explore. The next morning, you gather outside the temple. You make your way into the necropolis and follow your map to your assigned site. The sun beats down on the lonely, silent streets of the necropolis. Dust and sand now cover the once-bustling streets, and buildings that were once homes and shops are gradually disintegrating into rubble after centuries of neglect. Scattered throughout the ruins is the occasional palm tree or shrub, kept alive by the broken remnants of a long-abandoned irrigation system.
Soon before you arrive, you are ambushed.
Braydir: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (12) + 9 = 21
Khere: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (19) + 1 = 20
Kaven: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (20) + 4 = 24
Milah: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (4) + 8 = 12
You all notice them in time, so no surprise round. The bad guys with arrows pointing to them are up on the roofs. The others are waiting to ambush you from inside ruined buildings.
Braydir: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (4) + 5 = 9
Kaven: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (11) + 4 = 15
Khere: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (11) + 2 = 13
Milah: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (10) + 8 = 18
bad guys on floor: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (8) + 1 = 9
bad guys on roofs: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (20) + 2 = 22
The guys on the roof each throw a net. The first throws at Khere.
touch attk: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 4 = 6
But his net misses.
The second throws at Milah.
touch attack: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (14) + 4 = 18
Milah is entangled.
Guys on roof
Milah
Kaven
Khere
guys in buildings
Braydir
Bold names may post now.
Kaven Blackwind |
Kaven steps to the side and seeing the large number of enemies decides to debilitate one of them before picking off the higher targets.
He casts snowball at the one on the ground to the south, channeling it through an arrow. The arrow flies from his bow and as it approaches its target a ball of frozen ball grows around it to sap the energy from his foe.
ranged bow attack vs AC: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (6) + 7 = 13
cold damage: 3d6 ⇒ (6, 1, 6) = 13
piercing damage: 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (8) + 3 = 11
If hit make a Fort save (DC 15) or be staggered for 1 round.
Khere |
Khere quickly double timed it towards one of the thugs swinging his flail in a menacing way.
"Tomb robbers! Defilers of the sacred dead! Grave robbers!"
Intimidate: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (8) + 2 = 10
GM Redelia |
Khere's threat doesn't seem to phase the thug.
Milah tries to free herself from the net.
escape artist: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (2) + 10 = 12
She can't get away.
One thug approaches Kaven and then swings a weapon at him.
attk: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (6) + 4 = 10
His attack slides past the magus's arm.
The second closes into melee range with Khere.
attk: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (6) + 4 = 10
His blow bounces harmlessly off Khere's armor.
The third moves quickly but can't quite reach you.
Braydir, you're up!
Braydir Thornak |
Any insight as to what these guys are? Humans? Undead?
Braydir pulls out his warhammer and takes a swing at the creature directly before him where the rest of his companions are. He is so ill prepared for this attack however that his attack completely misses. He grunts loudly frustrated and comments, "C'MERE!"
Warhammer: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (3) + 6 = 9
GM Redelia |
They're humans.
The two up high throw tanglefoot bags. The first is at Khere, the second at Braydir.
throw: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (11) + 4 = 15
throw: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (20) + 4 = 24
Khere and Braydir are both entangled.
Khere, Kaven, and Milah are up. Khere and Milah are entangled.
Kaven Blackwind |
After deftly dodging the attacker, Kaven takes a step back. "These net throwers won't let up!"
He casts an acid splash cantrip, channeling it into an arrow. Then he lets loose two arrows at the elevated enemy to the east.
attack including acid: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (20) + 6 = 26
damage: 1d8 + 4 + 1d3 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 4 + (2) + 1 = 10
Critical threat! Handled below...
attack: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (7) + 6 = 13
damage: 1d8 + 4 ⇒ (1) + 4 = 5
If I can split targets on the fly after seeing a kill, Kaven would shoot the one near him with his second shot.
confirm crit: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (8) + 6 = 14
crit extra damage: 2d8 + 8 + 1d3 + 1 ⇒ (1, 2) + 8 + (1) + 1 = 13
So if the crit confirms, total damage is 23.
