As the items are identified and Ekkie talks about her wares Hangust smiles back at her.

"Fireballs are pretty exciting! Okay, we're letting you go, so that means you need to lead us to the sewers now! Let's go!"

He turns to the rest of the group and shrugs.

"Sounds like they can get potions and other items, I wonder what else they have stashed in the sewers. What do you think we'll find!?" There's a skip in his step as he moves to leave the room.

Eyeing your group, Joadric inquires, "Iffen yall gone to dem sewers...me thinks be dark. Ya need light?" Turning to Dismoon, he pulls out an everburning torch and tosses it her way. "Ear. Use dis." The man nods to you and promptly leaves the room.

"If you don't have any further questions for me, I suggest you get started. The Mariska Knackery is likely a good place to start. From..it's description, I'd bet that's where they are coming up. You should probably disguise or hide it in a pack or something...the locals don't take kindly to them wandering about in the open."

Feel free to finish up anything you wish here

Through the crazed mumblings of the goblin, you are able to find your way to this 'Mariska Knackery', which she confirms is where she came up from the sewers.

The Mariska Knackery is in Magnimar's Lowcleft district, standing on the northern edge approximately two blocks west of Matador's Lodge. Its well known lame or old horses, as well as animals and beasts maimed or used up in events at the Serpent's Run arena or the Matador's Lodge are brought to the knackery to be slaughtered and dismembered, and their meat and other remains are sold off.

A middle-aged man, sporting a gray walrus-like mustache works steadily within the building. Looking up as you enter, he speaks with a heavy varisian accent. "Ah, customers. What might I do fer ya today?"

Perception DC 15:

Luurg's ears perk up when there's talk about heading to the sewers "Sewers? Dats great! Sewers like the swamp, but a bit smellier, and Luurg LOVES the swamp! Walkin' 'round in dah water, mud squishin' tween yer toes!" He wiggles his naked feet a bit in excitement.

He turns and leans down to the halfman and whispers "Don't eat fruits growed in the sewers, dey taste bad..."

At the horse meat place!

"Uh...goblins? No! Never help goblins! Vile creatures... My shed...uh... it was...just an accident. No meat for you! Walk in here accusing me of such things? Out!" sputters the butcher.

Sticking her head out of Pigs pack, Ekkie takes a big wiff. "Oh! Ekkie know dis! Dis longshank horsekiller place. Ekkie like this. Plurg want meat..." she exclaims. Hopping down from the pack, droll hanging from her jowls like ropes, she quickly swipes a few pieces of meat. The goblin immediately eats one, and tries 'feeding' the other to her cage-brother.

Spying the goblin, the man looks horrified. "Uh...Well...no need to....uh..."

Glancing back up to your group, he begins sobbing. "They made me! I didn't want to. They keep taking the best cuts of meat too! I can't make a profit this way. The...the big one...he burned down my shed when I refused... They said they'd kill my f-f-family!"

Breaking down, the man continues mumbling, but the words are too incoherent to make out.

Diplomacy DC 13; Bluff/Intimidate DC 14:

Managing to get ahold of himself, the man spews the following in one long breath.

“What could I do? Those little vermin have got me right where they want me! At first, I tried locks and bars to stop them, but the thefs got worse. If there’s any way in, they’ll find it!. Then the big, creepy one, at least a foot taller than me, came one night. It put the fear right into me, I’ll tell you, lurking there in the shadows with its snuffling breath and twitching ears. It said it knew exactly where my family lives and said it’d know if I tried to go to the watch. Then they burned down my shed outside to make their point. So I’ve had to go along with them, leaving the best slabs of meat for them and ignoring the scurrying I hear down in the cellars at night. If I don’t, they’ll burn down my home and murder my family!”

Without another word, the man leads you to the back of his slaughterhouse and shows you a hinged grate. "They've been coming through here. I don't know anything else and I won't go down there! Don't tell them I helped you...please.
For the sake of my family!"

Once ready to enter the sewers

Ekkie rubs Plurgs bald head, squealing with excitement. "No go to stinky tunnels? Ekkie and Plurg 'ike tunnels!" The goblin leaps down the grate and starts winding her way through the tunnels.

As soon as you enter, you are hit by a wall of stench. Feces, stale urine and rotting meat assault your sense. The pitch blackness of this place combined with the odor makes one reconsider their choices...'is this to be your tomb?'
Fort DC 8 vs Sickened

Ekkie regularly heads off too far ahead, and circles back. Giddy as you get closer and closer to the hideout, she reminds you "Plurg and Ekkie free after. We go 'way!" After a good 45 minutes, you finally reach an opening in the tunnel, the stench even more obvious now.

"Through dere! Me and Plurg never go past 'ere. You go, we free!"

Hangust wonders briefly how he's managed to miss the burnt shed, but his attention turns quickly to the human man breaking down under the polite questioning of his friends, and Ekkies drooly presence.

Pig drops down on to the other side of the pit with a soft grunt

"Fun. Little ledge here. Makes easier." He points to the side of the pit. "Oh. Pea soup very hungry." The half-orc warrior grimaces as he watches the goblins disappear.

"Did pea soup just burp?"

Pig awaits the commands of the more wise and cunning.

"Oh ya, big pea soup thing called smiley mold. Kinda like when you leave yer fruit 'round too long and it get fuzzy.. but much bigger and much hungrier. Stay outta dat stuff!"

After looking around a while Luurg points out to Pig a spot on the wall "Over dare I tink I see a flipper ting, make floor come back. I can try to fix it so it don't fall 'gain. Us big people too heavy, make gobbie floor fall down."

I can take a bit of time doing that or if someone has pitons we can rig up a rope to help balance across the pit if people don't have big armor check penalties?

Pig marches over the sleeping goblins to the indicated lever and yanks on it. "This?"

I suppose depending on the weight of the counter-weight, Pig might be able to hold the lever: 600 lbs maximum lift off ground.

"Yeah...what Luurg said!" Hangust says offhandedly as he continues to stare at the slime, fascinated by it. By the time his attention shifts Pig is on the other side and pulling on the level. yeah Pig. I'll reward the clever thinking. If you stand there and hold it, 600lb becomes tripping point as it pulls you off the ground.

Will get story moved forward tonight. Busy shift

Geh, sorry guys, I meant to post last night and fell asleep hard instead due to some family stuff wearing me out. ...but you are solving it fine without me! Good work!

Zephyr chews on a stalk of grass, observing the others cleverly managing the mechanism. "You're a smart crew, alla ya!" This may be a new compliment to some in the group. "I'll just keep m'bow trained for anything comin' outta the shadows while ya manage that, aye? I've got another length of rope if ya need more."

Taking 10 on the ledge if needed for a 15, can't help with the Disabling though.

Hangust begins to make his way across the narrow ledge, getting about halfway before his feet slip out from under him. Just as he falls, certain that slime below is about to eat another hapless victim, the floor swings upward with a solid 'CHalUnk'.

As the halfling lands on the device, Pig feels the sudden weight pull against his grip, but holds fast.

You all make it across

Searching the remaining two goblins:

You find 4 flasks of alchemist fire, 2 potions, 4 caltrops, 2 leather armor, 2 dogslicers, 2 nets, 2 shortbows, 40 arrows, 2 sets of thieve's tools

Spellcraft DC 18:

CLW Potions -- Caster Level 3

As you make your way further into the structure, you find two rooms devoid of goblinoid life. The first one is filled with human-sized training dummies, covered with pockets and a pile of locks of an array of stiles sitting in the corner. Seems they may have practiced their trade here...

The second room you come too is filled with moldy food, smelly linens, and miscellaneous rubbish scattered about.

Peering around the corner into the third room, you see...

The ceiling of this room has partially collapsed, creating a two story space to the west while exposing the chamber above to the east. Rubble lies haphazardly about the place, with some other larger pieces serving as tabletops for crude alchemical apparatuses. Soot, scorch marks, and other chemical residues cover many of the chamber’s walls and other surfaces. A sizable slab of jagged debris leans against the broken edge of the upper level’s floor in the room’s center. The upper level seems clear of wreckage and contains several wooden worktables. Opposite the entrance, a set of stone steps that once rose to the upper level are broken away halfway up their length. The whole chamber smells of burnt oil and acrid chemicals.

A single goblin works diligently atop the platform while three others work below. The trio of goblins sing as they work, while the isolated goblin randomly shouts down at them.

"Firemakers ua hauj lwm
Ua burny khoom
Burny khoom
Burny khoom
Firemaker tus make Boom
Grac poob caj npab
Chuffy poob lub taub hau
Burny khoom mus Boom!"

"Kaw thiab ua hauj lwm daj ntseg-muag lovers!"

Goblin:

"Firemakers work
Make burny stuff
Burny stuff
Burny stuff
Firemakers make Boom
Grac lose arm
Chuffy lose head
Burny stuff go Boom!

Shut up and work pale-faced lovers!"

Luurg will sniff and taste the potions Craft Alchemy: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (17) + 8 = 25

His eyes light up and a smile parts his lips "Nice! Deez apple juice potions, made from extra gud apples! Fix up stabs n cuts like new! Drink 'em down yum yum!"

As they continue their search Luurg keeps himself near the front, moving along cautiously with his leafy spear in hand, eyeballs searching for any more Goblin surprises. I'll just keep taking 10 on Perception for traps, 17, can't find magic ones.

The big room...

Luurg listens in to the Gobbie talk. Then does his best to use hand motions to translate for the sake of silence. Bluff (Pass Message): 1d20 - 2 ⇒ (3) - 2 = 1 He then nods excitedly at the others while giving a 'thumbs up'.

He pulls out a mango and chomps down on it, slurping up the juicy goodness. A moment after he swallows his large gut redistributes itself upward, filling out his chest, back and arms with even thicker muscle and giving his skin a bit of a leathery look. He waggles his eyebrows at everyone else and holds his spear ready for whatever happens next.

The javelin sails through the air and pierces one of the goblin's left shoulder. Looking at the projectile with confusion, the assistance slowly look towards the door, spying the intruders.

Pulling the pole out of his shoulder, the goblin shouts to his companions. "Longshanks yuav nyob ntawm no!" Oops, sorry PIg - failed to mention you can make a reflex save on your turn to attempt to put out the flames. DC 15 - But it's a full-round action to do so.

Dismoon you have two options - Attempt to scale the wall - DC 20 Climb - or run up the partial stairs - leaping over the gap - DC 12 Acrobatics and a DC 15 Climb to pull yourself up -- If you hit DC 32 Acrobatics you don't need the climb check

It is roughly 10ft up

The Exchange

Dismoon tries to cover the gap quickly, pushing for the stairs...

Acrobatics: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (12) + 10 = 22
Climb: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (14) + 2 = 16

I assume that's a double move, but will go total defense as standard if not.

If it's extra hot fire--another 1d6+1d4--or lasts more than 1 extra round, he'll try to put it out (and move him back 10 ft). If it's normal--1d6--he'll suck it up and original action stands.
