Tynan catches his dagger as it comes whirling back to him, then moves hastily through the air, calling upon Ascaria's blessing to increase his reflexes. (free action to catch dagger, move action 30' +30' movement from haste, gain a +2 bonus on attack rolls and a +2 dodge bonus to AC and Reflex saves.)

Quickly eyeing the grappled spellcaster's defenses, but not daring to enter the stone grinder below, Tynan makes a thrusting motion with his sword, and calls upon the power of his ring to extend his reach. (swift action to study Khellek, standard action to make a single melee attack from range utilizing the Ring of Far Reach)

Khellek suddenly flinches in pain, his eyes studying Mortimer for signs of wayward hidden daggers. Finding none, he settles in to watch the golems set to freeing him from the grapple, in their own, crude way. Khellek delays.

As Mortimer retreats, he endures three massive swings of stone.

Despite the giant's cautious absconding with the wizard, one of the golems strikes him hard, almost dropping him. The three golems march, two of them pursuing their ward, one of them directed into attacking the maiden, by Auric.

Khellek passively resists Mortimer's repositioning, going limp in the large man's arms. "The battlefield can feel awfully small, can't it? Run as far as you might, even these large sentinels will close in on you."

Tynan plants a point in the wizard's side, from afar. Ascaria pulls injury from his fellow fighters, before being restored mentally, and restoring others physically. Eidi tempts fate, and touches a maiden. Mortimer repositions, before losing almost all. Solrisa returns, and returns punishment to another golem. Eri brings new friends to the field, before contributing to Khellek's injuries.

Auric nods to Solrisa, calling from below. "Looks like you have your hands full with our golems. Let me finish one or more of your Outcasts, then I'll join you shortly."

”Such thoughts do not become you Khellek. If I do not heal him, I am negating my role in this battle. I would not threaten you with death for casting spells. Are you saying you’re removing a fair fight and replacing it with a fight to the death? Well for my part, I will see what I can do to spare your lives, even if you attempt to take ours, regardless of how you act.”

He grins, ”Or at least I’ll save Auric.” he laughs at his own joke, though it’s clear he’ll save them both if he can.

Ascaria 5' steps over Mort. He focuses on the man below him, and channels to heal his broken frame. He carves out the stone golems, and Khellek (everyone in reach).

Huh? Where am I?

He finds himself standing on the edge of a shore bordered by a serene silver ocean. As he looks out over the water he sees a grey ship silently sailing by.

"Hello?!" he calls out. He looks around. "Celeste, Ilya, Pillette, Rae? Is that you?" He pauses, lost in confusion for a moment. "Don't worry, we'll find you!"

The ground beneath Mortimer shifts, and he suddenly finds himself face to face with the cold stone floor of the arena. He looks upwards to glare at the golems looming over him, but sees only the glint of magic fading from Eidi's holy symbol, and the usual twinkle stars around Ascaria whenever he channels. Mortimer smiles, now understanding what happened.

"Thanks Eidi, Ascaria!"

Leaving his club and thunderstone behind, he BoF: stands up. Upon seeing eight identical Khelleks swirling about, he shakes his head.

"Oh, so -- hiding behind your own ... skirts!?"

Non-lethal, and I don't know what the miss chance is.

Tynan chips away at Khellek's new defensive measure. Ascaria resurrects Mortimer, in a way, surging magical healing not once, but twice. Eidi adds increase to injury, restoring the giant almost to full health. Mortimer, newly arisen from the near grave, strikes out repeatedly at the many Khelleks, eliminating a couple more pseudo-wizards. Solrisa destroys another golem, reducing Auric's Warband's front line by half.

The crowd, ever enthusiastic, roars in approval at the golem's destruction.

Solrisa:

On first glance, there are no crumbs, let alone cookies, to be found amidst the rubble of the second fallen golem. Perhaps with a little digging, you can be reasonably sure...

Eri tries to remain alive for as long as possible, allowing his lone lantern archon to begin its work on the southernmost stone golem.

Auric watches as the archer flees, and another golem falls. True to his word, he pursues Eri, intent on silencing another Artist quickly. He doesn't seem to pay attention to Tynan and his daggers, as he comes to a position at the same level as the daggerman. Provokes AoO

Ascaria laughs as he steps away from Mort a little, ”Oh, you need a thicker skin my friend. That wasn’t condescension. No, not at all. I’m just surprised you’d resort to killing so quickly is all. Tynan succumbs to the Khelleks' induced terror, fleeing for the less occupied parts of the arena. Ascaria withstands one mental assault after another, failing to heed any of the wizards' strictures. He makes sure to liberate the half-elf and giant of any fear effects, while healing once more. Eidi, too, resists the cloying impositions on his will, before striking Auric with a restriction of his own. Mortimer bounds back to consciousness, before taking to the air, and overrunning the Khelleks, reducing their number by one. Solrisa rises from the arena floor, issuing challenge to the namesake of the opposing Legio. Eri carefully repositions, throwing lightning at his harrasser.

Eidi strikes Khellek true, but pays a heavy price for failing to retreat in the face of overwhelming opponents. Mortimer manages two swift strikes on the wizard, through closed lids, only opening them for his last attack on Auric, which fails to disarm the fighter. Solrisa begins her engagement with Auric, hitting him once! Eri lends his magical might to the maiden, crippling the fighter with lightning.

Eidi smiles as he calls the attention of the golems. The smile is lost quickly as the first attack almost burst his skull.

When he opens the eyes and observes the golems still looming over him, he understands quickly the combat has yet not ended. Using Ascaria's fervor blessing to stand up swiftly. Observing there is no one else on the ground the golems can hit, the elder retreats back and 5 feet into the air out of the golems reach once more, then makes a detour to gain height to safely overpass the golems.

"Those are terrible machines!" shouts the half-elf while he retreats at haste speed.

Sorry, I did not get you were all flying at safety distance of the golems. See map for retreat route.

Tynan finally comes to a stop. Ascaria pulses twice, his channeling apparently limitless. Eidi takes to the air, retreating from certain death. Mortimer ascends to advantage over Auric, giving the maiden a flank. Solrisa manages to hit Auric once, hissing chastisement to the current champion. Eri hurls a fireball, none of it touching the wizard. The archon has better luck with its intended target below.

Auric laughs as the maiden rebuffs him, but doesn't deign to dignify her with a response.

Unfortunately, if he were to channel, he’d miss Eidi anyway, so he reserves it for now. Instead he moves to the center of the group, and casts Cure Light Wounds, Mass - which has a longer reach. He heals Eidi, Mort, Sol, and himself.

”Careful of those damn Golems.” he looks uneasily at the giant brutes Auric is currently hiding in front of. He frowns, knowing the group must descend into that mass of pain at some point if they're to succeed.

[ ... ] Looking down at the ensuing fight, Mortimer catches a glimpse of Sol's heaving perfect breasts under her tailored armor and the vision derails his brain temporarily. [ ... ] how ... ? ... how is it he is not slain already by her beauty alone? ... He averts his own eyes to recover.

"I'm afraid Sol, that might be as good as he gets," he goads, still in need of a cold shower.

Remaining in flank, he's outraged when Auric retreats.

Quickly descending 10' feet while moving to the front for a clear shot, the half-elf begins chanting a dark sequence of arcane words. With the last accent he points towards the fighter and a black enervation ray of pulsing negative energy springs from his finger and flies towards Auric.
