Ingrid how do you plan on explaining why being drow has no impact on her life, even being the wrong color for a drow? 1/4 human blood isn't going to mask 3/4 worth of drow. Drow are notoriously dark skinned, so I'm not sure how she ended up white. Even drow half elves are explained to usually have dusky skin that looks purple or blueish in some light. If being drow has 0 impact on her, why not just make her an elf? I mean, elf stats are even better for an alchemist anyways unless your archetype runs off cha?

if one looks like an Elf, are they an Elf?,
do they think themselves an Elf?Being something and thinking your something else effects how you see the world and if you Look like something your not, odds are people will mistake what you are.
and there are multiple ways to answer this;
1) Albinism (Skin)
2) Genetic Mutation (of gene(s))
3) Hidden Drow experiment to make a better surface infiltrator
(though considered a failure and was left to die near cave entrance).
As for not min-maxing, I at times enjoy playing something that is not min-maxed and may even go against the grain.
And I'm within the Rules the GM setup for character creation and some are undefined.
So I'll ask in turn

She is the Rat Kings girlfriend and already has a spot on le team, I doubt that Rat King doesn't already know that she a Aasimar.also I feel that the creation guide line was more for us than her.
That's the benefit of being the girlfriend of the GM ;). Seriously though, I must say I'm a big fan of giving nice things to the primary healer of the party. They get to do more varied things than just healing and actually surviving becomes less of a pain, both things which makes the game more fun. Aasimar are also very thematic for this AP, but I'm sure many agree with me that things feel a bit weird if there are too many in the party. Limiting it to exactly one Aasimar solves this dilemma beautifully.

Could it be that she could get to know more about her mother? Yet that thought somehow feels wrong as well. if you read the various Golarion books you'd find the Worldwound has a LOT of aasimars and tieflings, So limiting to one who happens to be the GM's girlfriend does not make it right, even if it matches thematically.

I just saw it as actually being able to trust Mime to play Aasimar, because he obviously knows her pretty well. I usually ban or heavily change Aasimar in my games (put it on the same level as tieflings) because it's so easy to abuse them at low levels. Can't trust every random that applies, unfortunately.

That I can see as a valid reason, but at the same time it can be invalid.
As I've GM'ed a few PBPs on the board and a number at the Table.I've learned to spot powerplay-characters from; character data (crunch and or fluff), Roleplaying style, and or personality of the player.
Now admittedly that is something built up with experience and I don't know how much GMing experience the GM has since the boards can not log RL experience, so at this point I can say it is a valid reason.

Sorry if you're not thrilled about my choices? Not really sure what to say to this. Nobody forced you to apply. If you don't like the way I'm running recruitment, why're you here at all?
I did want to avoid the entire group being part-angel in a campaign of demons and angels, because that would just be silly. That said, if you wanted to express concern about my choices, being sassy to the GM in his recruitment thread is really not the best way to get picked. Or even the best way to politely convey that. Just a bit of food for thought.

Yeah I'm the girlfriend who called dibs on aasimar, which is why he capped off aasimar. Tieflings are still 100% in, I was hoping we'd have one as a matter of fact! Only one, because like someone else said above, a whole butt ton of the same less common race is silly ;p
Anyways, I had asked for clarification because I was reading your background and thought I was missing something. Two paragraphs isn't long, so I thought asking you for more info would be better than just being confused about your character. It hadn't been an attack on the app, I just wanted more info instead of just dismissing it after a quick read through. Needless to say, I'm helping Rat go over backgrounds so I'm trying to stay up on the current apps.
As a side note, I'm totally the GM's favorite. I mean, he's touched my butt so none of you can really compete. But, I'm here for good RP, not "Mememe!" RP. I am happiest playing a support role both mechanically and in roleplay. It's all about the interactions through the whole party. Hope that's a comfort to anyone who thinks I'm trying to be the star. I'm playing a solo campaign for that ;p
Yeahhh given that the GM was completely upfront from the very first post about the fact that he was running this game to include his GF, and that we're all able to see her character sheet, I wouldn't call this 'favoritism' so much as 'hey, this is gonna be part of the campaign,' etc.
I'd be leery of a GM who revealed after the fact that the player already guaranteed a spot in the campaign is his GF, and oh, ALSO, she's playing a race I didn't let you play, and ALSO-- etc etc-- but that's very clearly not what is going on here. And even if it was a legitimate concern, there's ways to express it that don't come off quite so... well.
/shrugs.

Well, I did say that it would be open for a week. Which puts the deadline at about 5pm EST tomorrow, Friday the 2nd. Everyone has a little less than 24 hours to get their characters done, at which point recruitment will be closed. I plan to reveal who I'm choosing later that evening and get rolling over the weekend.<sing-song>Where, oh where has our GM Rat gone?

It's Friday night and there's a lot of apps we are going over. "Evening" to us is basically anything between about 7pm to 3am the next morning.
