back from PaizoCon (it was great!) and post is up.
Carrion Crown is fine by me, I GMed the first adventure only, then moved the party into a Ravenloft campaign. I won't be bored at all being a player in the Haunting of Harrowstone, there are lots of free form elements that won't be the same and it's a great adventure.
Rapscallion:
The Spring Heeled Jack from CC1 is awesome, my game group still talks about it.
Also, don't know if anyone else is interested/has played it, I wouldn't mind doing Rise of the Runelords. That seems really integral to Golarion to me, in a way the other Adventure Paths aren't necessarily, though that might just be me. I think it's the way it delves into the setting's history a bit more, though.
Thanks Moon; glad you enjoyed it! I hope to get there someday.
Moon:
Thanks for the heads up; we haven't gotten that far yet, but I'll make sure to highlight it
I'd be happy with Rise of the Runords as well. I've looked into it a bit, and can get it running fairly quickly. Note, also that it is one of the AP's that is considered a sort of prequel to Shattered Star, which isn't out yet.
Rise of the Runelords would be good too, haven't played or GMed that one. I just had a seminar at the Con, The Convocation of Madmen, where James Jacobs, Richard Pett, Nick Logue, Wolfgang Baur, and Greg Vaughan all talked about working on those modules. It was hilarious and Nick Logue is a twisted, twisted man.
Cool! I love being able to match one's writing with his or her personality. I got to meet and speak to R.A. Salvatore at a GenCon; never forget it.
I've got a fine, reliable 4th for ROTR, if we decide to go that way. He just would rather not play any arcane. If it turns out that no one wants to play arcane, we can put out a recruitment for a fifth.
Thanks for the update Ben - I'll get the round closed out tonight.
I'm happy to do an arcane character. I don't get to play too much (usually GM, though I enjoy that too), so I'm happy to play pretty much any class -- though I'm more than open to tips on how to do it. I'm happy to let others pick who/what they want to play and I'll work around them. I find most of my characters can work with any class -- just requires minor tweaks to what I'm thinking for them personality-wise.
I am toying with the idea of multi-classing at second level as a rogue. I am not sure how you, as a GM, handle that. I mainly want to do it to reflect the kind of behavior Kehlysch has had to adopt in order to survive on board the ship (sneaking around, bluffing, intimidating, etc). I will be happy to roleplay some conversations with Moon to learn lock-picking and sneak attacking in order to organically develop the crossover.
I will probably not take more than a level or two in rogue, as I want to stay primarily with Kehlysch's alien nature. If you find taking a level of rogue too much of s stretch, would you allow me to take a level of expert instead?
I have absolutely no problem with that; I think it's a great idea! It makes sense, as he'd have to adapt to what works on the ship, and I love the idea of learning a bit from Moon. Who knows, maybe he'll learn a level of sorc from you. Err...maybe not. But, heck yeah - go for it.
Bendrauss - chime in and let me know if you're cool with Rise of the Runelords. If so, we've got a group of four; I'll start up the game so we can work on character creation and all that good stuff.
I judt started a summer class so my posting wont be as strong as I would like. Its only four weeks tho. I guess I'm okay with Runelords no idea what I'd play yet.
Gotcha; no worries, and good luck. Are you sure? Why don't you have a look at the synopsis and let me know; I don't want anyone to go into it not totally into it. Take your time and let me know.
I'm back. I did have fun...but I also feel half dead! We did a 6 mile loop and managed to hit three 2,000 foot peaks; and as tradition calls for we enjoyed a beer after reaching our final peak. Makes the hike down that much more enjoyable.
...on another note I could be tempted to play RotR if that's what you decide to run.
Excellent Gregor! I'm happy to begin wearing down your walls to convince you if need be. I've got Jake (from First Steps) lined up to play a meatbag or skillmonger, as well.
Looks like ROTR is winning the day, I'm excited for it, wish you guys could have heard the discussion from the designers on it. I'll look around on the Paizo site and see if they have it recorded from the Con at all, they did that with a few of the RPG Superstar panels.
What classes are people building? I'll take whatever is left over for party balance.
Hmm. I was thinking maybe playing a goblin but realized that could conflict with the opening scene (which I realized knew because I got about 10 posts into a RotR PBP before the DM disappeared). Not sure if you'd even want to allow a goblin, though my impression is there are some hanging around Sandpoint.
Still no strong thoughts on a class; willing to do whatever.
I was looking tk play something martial. I have a witch jn my KM and am disappointed with it thus I wanted to play in another lol. I haven't played a thief type in years. Never with the back stab rules from 3.X just the old AD&D stuff. I wouldn't mind that.
Hey I live in MA on the NH border. I live in Ashby right next to New Ipswich NH
That's awesome...my parents moved to Greenville about a year or two ago! You going to OGC in Nashua later this month?
I haven't heard anything about it? What is it, when and where lol?
Also got any recomendations. I want to do a weekend motorcycle trip to a campground near some mediocre to great flyfishing lol
Lake Winnipesaukee is the obvious choice, but I'm told there is good fishing in the smaller lakes near Wolfeboro. A buddy of mine used to head up to Ossipee Lake every summer for fishing & camping a few years back; but he lives in North Carolina now so I haven't' seen him in a while.
Here's the Pathfinder Society info for OGC con...I'll probably make it for one or two sessions on Saturday.
I was signed up for Friday night's God' Market Gamble, but I'm playing in a PbP on Mythweavers so I had to drop out of that one. Right now I'm signed up for two games on Saturday; PFS 3-07 Echoes of the Overwatched at 9am and PFS 3-21 The Temple of Empyreal Enlightenment at 1pm. I've got my Rogue signed up for both but I might use my Inquisitor for one of them instead.
A small bit on the gear - you have noted that others on the ship tote about weapons regularly, but nothing has been directly said to any of you regarding whether or not you could as well. It could be that it'd go unnoticed...or not.
I should have our ROTR campaign loaded by by the end of the weekend, so that we can start ironing out the team. It'll still be a bit of time before we start, but that'll give us a forum in which to flesh out your characters.

I'll post a link in here when it's up.
I'd still like to apply with the swordlord I think unless someone else wants to take a martial spot. Otherwise its back to the drawing board. As I already have a fighter I wouldnt want to deny anyone that type. I just dislike arcane types.
Swordlord would be interesting, have at it I say, we could always have two martial roles for RotR. I'll pick up whatever class is needed after everyone else has selected. What's our tally so far?
Bendrauss - swordlord
Jake (from First Steps) - meat bag or skill monger
Gregor - ?
Louly - ?
Moon - ?
We'll get that cutlass back for you Bendrauss, and hopefully in a way that you can carry it openly. We've a little coin from the bilges and should be able to buy something from Grok.
I'm on the fence. I've. Never played RotR, but I've always wanted to. The problem is I am already in three other pbps and I have a weekly real-life game also. I'm afraid of spreading myself too thin.
If you give me a deadline, I'll make a decision by that date. If I decide to make the commitment, I'll play whatever class role needs filling, though truth be told - bard has always been my favorite class.
depending on how the gear negotiation goes, Moon will try to get the front line fighters, Bendrauss and Gregor, their stuff first, then Louly's pistol and gear, then Kehlyches gear, lastly for himself he needs the boarding axe, then his other stuff if possible.
@Kehlysch - I think you're good to roll with that.
@Moon - the last step for Grok is to get her to helpful in lieu of friendly; this would change the DC for getting starting gear back to almost automatic. If you want to try and turn her to Helpful, the DC is 11, and you'd have a +6 total (+4 for offering fine music and +2 for the dance).
@Everyone else - Please include a diplomacy roll when asking Grok for your material back. By the book, it's actually easier than it probably should be, now that you've been so successful in influencing her to your cause. You can pretty much get your gear back on anything save for a natural 1
Kehlysch, would a witch hunter mean we can't really play a witch? That's what I was thinking of going with, though I'm definitely not settled in on it yet.
And GM Raps (or anyone else), any thoughts on a goblin character? If that'd make it too hard, I can come up with someone else.
As I read it, witchhunters don't go after witches as a class, rather they hunt arcane casters who have done or plan harm against innocents and/ or laity of their faith.
Of course, if GM Rap feels differently, I could simply drop the witchfinder archetype or play a cleric, instead.
I imagine that the character would be highly suspicious of a witch, initially, but not necessarily assume his or her guilt.
I think that may actually be a fun interaction to RP, it's take some time for the witch to earn the witchhunter's trust, but it wouldn't have to impact gameplay unless one of you play off your character as really extreme.
A goblin may be tricky; chances are you'd be hung before you get a chance to do anything useful. If you do survive through the initial part of the adventure, you'd be good, though. I rarely would stop someone from playing something that they really want to play, so we can bounce about some ideas if that's what you want to do.
Hmm. Well, I'm figuring he/she'd be in disguise ("Me am HALFLING!"), though it'd be pretty obvious he/she's a goblin (I repeat, "Me am HALFLING!"). I'll see what others want to make -- if it seems like a goblin wouldn't be able to fit in, I'll go with something else.
Halfling necromancer?
(And again, if someone else wants to play an arcane caster, I'm more than happy to do something else.)
I am happy to fill whatever role needs filling. If you don't really want to play an arcane caster, just make the character you want and if the group ends up needing a wizard, I'll take it.
