Not a bad idea, especially since I use the ipad and iphone quite a bit.
Ha - no, not that Gronk, though he'd be about as intimidating. I sure hope you're not a Pats fan...we're Steelers fans where we are, man.
Update coming in the AM...8 month old doesn't seem to want to go to sleep.

Regarding entry into the bilges, my suggestion is (and feel free to reject):
I will cast Mage Armor on Ben, Gregor, and anyone else who wants to be in in melee range.
Moon and Louly should remain on the stairs, ready to shoot or throw daggers at range.
I will be in the water immediately behind Gregor and Ben, to provide backup.
I don't know if Karn is with us, but if so, he should probably be next to me, close enough to provide healing if Ben or Gregor needs healing.
Thoughts?

I'd say it's up to you, but we could probably pretend he'd been hurt badly in his press-ganging and only now had recovered? (Or just wait until it's more convenient to bring him on? Or find him hanging onto a piece of driftwood a la young Will Turner...)
GM Rapscallion |
Indeed; I must just have misunderstood - I had thought he'd be back up and running in a few weeks. No worries at all; these AP's are so long, a few months out is no big deal. I'll DMPC for now; he'll just be doing a lot of working diligently, getting extra rest, and healing.
Bosun Moon |
yea, I'm digging this AP, hoping the new equipment guide has more items for Age of Sail type gear, like the flintlock pistol bandoliers so that you can have three strapped across your chest, fire one, drop it, pull the next, fire that, drop it, just like they really did in the early 1600s when flintlocks were introduced. See this picture as to what I'm referring to...
GM Rapscallion |
Hmmm...dunno. I had a second darkness started, but it fell apart when some inter party differences made a few quit. I could probably be talked into it; I'm currently running Jade regent and carrion crown on another site, so I could start up one of those too, if there's interest.

I have wanted to play Kingmaker since I first discovered pathfinder but the one I'm in turned to crap after the first encounter. 4 Weeks of arguing and now 1 player quit outright one is hasn't posted in 2 weeks and another is in my opinion trolling lol. I agree with Moon this is the funnest one I am in by far!
GM Rapscallion |
Great to hear, as this is by far my favorite group! I'd be happy to run another one, if we can come to an agreement on what to run; we have one vote for Kingmaker so far.
And - I'll be posting for the rats soon; just taking the kids to see some fireworks.
Have fun Moon! Wish it weren't on the other side of the country from me, or I'd be there.

I definitely think it's tough to find a good game. I think that's why I tend to like GMing more, because I know I'm not going to drop out and I can pick players I think will write and play in a way I like. Even then, my Kingmaker game's gone through tons of turnover. A couple have given me a head's up, which I greatly appreciate, but a lot have just disappeared. I think I've got at least 7 former players in the campaign (three of them disappeared before we even got to Oleg's!)!
I've got a half-dozen aliases with just a handful of posts because the games died. I did drop out of one, but I did tell everyone, not just disappear.
I'd consider another game as a player, but I'm running Kingmaker if that matters. I think I'm pretty good at keeping meta knowledge separate, though.
Bendrauss Seaborn |
I can avoid meta gaming as well IMO. I have an Aldori Swordlord Archetype Fighter I made to use specifically in a Kingmaker and have just been waiting for a game to come up. I would play in any game u DM for tho lol
PS His name is still a work kn progress but its Vladislav Fedoseev haha I get a kick from it.
Bosun Moon |
Kingmaker would be great for me, as I haven't been a player or GM for that AP, but I'm open to other adventures if the group goes that way.
Motteditor, you're a great GM as well, if you ever need another player for a game let me know. The first PbP game I ever participated in was your play test for RPG superstar, and that's what got me hooked on these forums. I'd been gaming for 27 years prior to that, but always at the table, never in a PbP.

Thats so awesome lol
I would also like to say I love every character in this campaign. Every one of them has a great flavor. I'm axiously awaiting to see what Louly can do as I have never played with an Alchemist.GM Rapscallion |
Kehl, Moon, Gregor, Ben - all up to finish out the first round!
I would rather run something new now that I think of it; much of my enjoyment is in living through the stories at the same time (though slightly ahead) as the players. I'll have a look at Kingmaker, but it'll take a bit of time for me to read ahead; I hope you're all okay with that. Motteditor - are you sure that you could separate yourself enough to find the game enjoyable, after DMing it already?
I'll definitely just be recruiting from this game; like you guys said - it's really hard to find and keep good people, so I'd much rather stick with those whom I enjoy gaming with.
Louly a'Maris |
I should be fine, Raps. Just need to think of a fun character. I can probably suggest some other folks from my pool of games as well if you want. Oh, and thanks, Bosun. I appreciate the compliment.
Also, I may be a bit sporadic for the next week. A friend of mine who'd moved out to California was back to visit her boyfriend; unfortunately they got in a fight and now she's apparently staying with me for the week. Granted, I usually end up posting from work, so it's possible there might not be any change, but just figured I'd give a head's up.

Thinking about it, I think I'd rather play a game I don't know, though if everyone else wants to do Kingmaker, like I said, I can come up with a character that I think would work. Also, I'd say be careful you don't overextend yourself. I don't want to have this game slow down because you're running us through another one, but that may be just me.
GM Rapscallion |
I'll leave the game up to you guys; I can pretty seamlessly pick up any of the following, as I own the AP's and know them fairly well:
Jade Regent
Second Darkness
Carrion Crown
I could do Kingmaker too, but we'll have a good several weeks until we can start, as I've got a fair share of reading to do.
Your concern is perfectly understood - as it happens, I went from being a PC in three games to only one in the last month, so I picked up a bit of time. I'm fairly certain I can start it up without much of a slow down, as long as you guys can give me a few weeks to get up to speed...or only a week if we do one of the ones I already have.
Bosun Moon |
I'd say that if you would rather run something new then go with that, I'll be good with whatever game it is. Kingmaker and Jade Regent are new to me. I've GMed the first adventure of Carrion Crown, but haven't been a player in it and I do love a good Ravenloft style adventure. Mott and I are currently players in a Second Darkness game.
motteditor RPG Superstar 2014 Top 16, RPG Superstar 2012 Top 16 |
I'd be willing to give Carrion Crown a try. I'm curious about the haunted houses I've heard so much about. IIRC, it would be easy to work an Aldori swordlord into it, saying he's got some connection to the professor whose funeral kicks things off (though it's been a while since I looked at the Player's Guide).
GM Rapscallion |
Moon - did you make it all of the way through Harrowstone? If so, did you read into any other adventures in the AP? I just want to make sure you're not going to be bored with too many spoilers being revealed.
I'm fine with CC if that's what you guys want; we'll need to get a fourth at least.
