Hemket |
If there is a surplus of arrows around, Hemket will be happy to shoot at undead. He doesn't have an unlimited supply however, and it seems likely that he would be able to retrieve his durable arrows from the undead mob.
Hadjii |
The Hadj will use his prepared Stone Call, and cast another the following round -- using up his 3rd Mythic Point for the day -- to do 4d6 ⇒ (4, 6, 3, 4) = 17 damage to a bunch of 'em...
If they are really packed in near the gate, a 40' radius can get a LOT of targets!
Calla Voni |
Calla mentions she could provide you with Abundant ammunition, even blunt arrows if you have them, that will last for 7 minutes. You could have 70 turns of endless attacks!
Calla Voni |
And then, after leaving the party alone for 10 minutes, the undead scourge has been cleared and the city once again is safe, thanks to the powerpuff Obsidian Eye!
Children...
Marius Bergan |
Marius would like to try and put up barricades but seeing that Hemket is basically going to be destroying any corporeal undead Marius just gets his channeling ready.
GM Pox |
i started making the fight map when i realized this fight was a pushover for yall, so im just gonna nix it..
Over the course of several hours many lesser incorporeal undead make there way through the gates.. Some land some hits, but for the most part yall dominate.. By the time the normal guys take over the numbers of undead in the area are significantly reduced.. Tired, weary, and mostly spell spent your group makes it's way back to the Grand Mausoleum just after dark.. Rooms and thanks are given..
Ill be done testing tm so hopefully by the weekend i can get back to full posting numbers.. The group has made it to part 2 so i have some work to do..
Calla Voni |
We're too clever for the poor mindless undead!!
Calla is ready, and if she has some time will try to start another Arcane Disk (1st level).
Good Luck on the tests!
Hadjii |
can The Hadji take two hours to create his first scroll? A basic scroll of CLW...
GM Pox |
Ok in the progress of getting back in the saddle.. I apologize for the pause.. It was necessary unfort..
When yall return to the temple it late.. Hadjii can make his scroll if he wishes, but you wont get 8 hours of sleep if you go into serious craft mode..
The next morning comes early.. Sebiti comes in after her prayers and goes to Chester.. She begins casting a powerful spell which takes what seems like forever to finish.. When she finishes a bright glowing light forms at her fingertips.. She touches Chesters empty eye socket and almost immediately his eye starts to reform.. It takes several seconds but before your eyes his eye returns.. He blinks several times before putting a smile on his face ear to ear.. He stands and give Sebiti and big hug..
Before the celebration continues the door opens up to Nakht Shepses. Leader of the Voices of the Spire, the militant wing of Pharasma's faith.. He seems perturbed.. Him and Sebiti begin to argue and apparently he wants to use summoned psychopomps to take care of the undead.. She insists that although the outsiders would do the job, they would most likely kill several hundred citizens along the way as well..
Both parties are eager to explain their sides: Sebiti’s focus on protecting the citizens from harm versus Nakht’s preference for quick, decisive action. Neither Sebti nor Nakht has clear authority in such a crisis. As high priestess, Sebti believes Nakht should defer to her judgment, but Nakht insists that the source of the necromantic uprising must be found before more powerful undead rise from their graves, and only his psychopomps are qualified for such a task.
Ptemenib quietly suggests that your group could volunteer to take on the task..
Marius Bergan |
Marius sighs and begins trying to play peacemaker.
"If you release the psychopomps then the people will turn against the temple of Pharasma. Not that I'm totally opposed to that idea, but it would inconvenience me a bit. We can go out and solve this problem. I will demand a reward after we return though."
Diplomacy: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (19) + 9 = 28
Calla Voni |
Calla seems happy to be hitting the road again! "Well said, Marius."
"A much better option, in my point of view. Start fighting undead with monsters and soon enough you will forget the what are you fighting for. We, on the other hand, are pretty much qualified for such a task."
GM Pox |
Nakht raises an eyebrow at the bold statements.. Sebiti nods.. "Arthur has yet to return from his little expedition.. This group will fill in nicely in his absence.." Nakht frowns.. "This group doesn't look like much to me.. Let them prove themselves up to the challenge and I'll go along.. Let them battle Ajin Ra Baqa and 2 of his Esoboks.. If they can put him to a stalemate we have a deal.." Sebiti ponders for a moment and then speaks.. "Now is not the time for pride and stupidity Nakht.." In which he responds in an angry tone.. "That is the deal.. Take it or leave it.." She sighs and turns to the group.. "Are you all willing the entertain this foolishness for the good of the city?"
Hadjii |
Hadjii needs his 8 hours to recover his spells, so I guess he'll put off scroll-scribing yet another day...
"I believe Pharasma's psychopomps already have a job: they should continue ushering the dead, and leave the undead to us! If there is some challenge required first, then we will meet that challenge -- then we'll get back to the task at hand: neutralizing the undead threat! It is an unnatural abomination!"
Marius Bergan |
"Fine, but I protest this as a waste of time and resources that could be better spent."
Calla Voni |
"Every experience is welcome to us. I do think it's a foolish challenge, but if you want it we will destroy this resources that could be useful to you. Thus, be warned, that we are used to killing threats, so yeah, s!*& happens."
GM Pox |
The Inquisitor laughs and sends a summons for Ajin Ra Baqa.. A few minutes later a tall, skeletal figure wearing a vulture-like mask and a ragged cloak of gray feathers teleports into the temple. Know Planes
Nakht explains the dilemma and then pulls out 2 scrolls.. Using them 2 beings pop into existence..
Malice oozes from this stout, hunched predator. A ruff of dirty feathers adorns its hairless, muscular body just below its crocodilian skull. Know Planes again
I placed your avatars on the judge map, which we will use for this..
Party Init: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (12) + 5 = 17
Enemy Init: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (13) + 4 = 17
Huh.. Party goes first with the higher init mod..
Round 1
PC's are up..
Just a heads up the main guy has SR..
Hemket |
Move action to study Ajin.
wait till Marius acts to get the bless
Single shot at him with deadly aim.
to hit: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (7) + 11 = 18 damage: 1d8 + 9 ⇒ (7) + 9 = 16 doubt it hit though
Hadjii |
The Hadj will also wait until Marius does whatever he's conna do, then he'll cast his prepared Shield Companion:
"Sim, Sim, Salabim!
and point at the beast to his left:
Flank that one, Bandit! Sic 'em"
the wolf will try to do what he was told, but 50' just gets him next to the beast -- and Bandit needs a tumble check:
:
BANDIT's Acrobatics check: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (7) + 11 = 18 maybe...
Bandit's bite attack: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (19) + 7 = 26
if AC 26 hits, then 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6 points of damage
...*and* Bandit's TRIP attempt: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (8) + 7 = 15 vs CMD...
GM Pox |
Imma wait till everyone goes before giving a summary.. Bandit beats it FF CMD so he's good..
Calla Voni |
While they talked Calla would have cast Mage Armor (1st level slot - 5 hours) and Defending Bone (Mythic Point - 7 hours).
K.Planes 1: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (8) + 14 = 22
K.Planes 2: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (9) + 14 = 23
Calla will speak her knowledge aloud, helping her companions, and she releases a freaking motherfreaking Burning Arc, without the usual power-calling-phrase, since she have a lot to speak.
Through Mythic Point and using the Empower Rod.
Fire to Northern Minion: 9d6 + 16 + 1 ⇒ (3, 4, 6, 3, 3, 3, 3, 2, 6) + 16 + 1 = 50 DC 19 Reflex for half.
Fire to Southern Minion: 4d6 + 8 ⇒ (4, 2, 4, 6) + 8 = 24 DC 17 Reflex for half.
Fire to Boss!: 2d6 + 2 ⇒ (4, 1) + 2 = 7 DC 15 Reflex for half.
Spell Resistance check: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (1) + 9 = 10
2nd Spell Resistance check: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (17) + 9 = 26 Because of Eldritch Breach
Hemket |
Chester will rage and charge the main guy up front and try to cut him.
power attack, charge, bless, rage
to hit: 1d20 + 18 ⇒ (4) + 18 = 22 damage: 1d6 + 11 ⇒ (3) + 11 = 14
GM Pox |
The main guy is called a Vanth Psychopomp and you may ask 1 question.
The other 2 are called Esobok Psychopomps and they have DR/Adamantine, resistance to cold/elec and they have an ability to remove your spirit, stunning you in the process..
Hemket fires an arrow which goes wide, Chester charges and hits air as well.. Bandit moves up and gives an esobok a good bite but doesn't trip it.. Marius casts a spell on Chester before he charges and Calla lets loose a megablast..
Reflex: 3d20 ⇒ (14, 18, 5) = 37 The main target is completely destroyed, while the 2nd takes half.. The main guy fails but doesnt take anything..
20/36
108/108
The still remaining Esobok attempts to bite/claw Bandit..
3d20 ⇒ (11, 9, 8) = 28 but misses on all occasions..
The main guy steps back and casts a spell, disappearing after it's completion..
Round 2
PC's are up!
Hemket |
"Oh crap, I hate invisibility!"
and he will shift to shooting the other target.
rapid shot (mythic for 2 shots at no penalty since he just missed).
to hit: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (6) + 11 = 17 damage: 1d8 + 7 ⇒ (2) + 7 = 9 miss probably
to hit: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (13) + 11 = 24 damage: 1d8 + 7 ⇒ (4) + 7 = 11
Chester will try perception to see if the target he was facing moved somewhere.
perception: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (17) + 9 = 26 and will move to swing at that square.
to hit: 1d20 + 18 ⇒ (11) + 18 = 29 miss chance: 1d100 ⇒ 87 damage: 1d6 + 13 ⇒ (6) + 13 = 19
Calla Voni |
And +2 to damage.
I want to know any vulnerability (or resistances to elements) it may have.
Do we need a Spellcraft to be cartain he turned invisible?
Spellcraft: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (1) + 14 = 15
Calla uses a Mythic Point to cast "Glitterdust!" outlining invisible creatures and possibly blinding both monsters for 7 rounds. [ooc]DC 19 negate the blindness.
GM Pox |
Running you all off the same init im just gonna start having whoever posts first actions happen first..
Both your attacks hit Hemket.. Your arrows do not do full damage though..
Chester doesn't see anything, but attacks the square the thing was in and sure enough manages to land a blow.. For full damage to boot!
Calla casts glitterdust, covering the 2 enemies and Chester..
2d20 ⇒ (8, 10) = 18
Chester: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (2) + 5 = 7
Both Chester and the Esobok are blinded.. The main enemy is not.. He is coverd though negating his invis..
4/36
89/108
Calla Voni |
If Chester was there already I would have cast Glitterdust one square west than the current position, but whatever ^_^ It is not me who's blinded....
Marius Bergan |
Marius moves up and activates his protection aura.
+2 deflection bonus to ac for 3 rounds.
GM Pox |
Calla knows the main guy has DR/Adamantine and Resist Cold/Elec naturally..
Thats why i said i was gonna start doing the order as when you post instead of me waiting and then having to go back and put it in proper order.. You can change where you put the glitterdust, but the hound will not be hit.. Up to u..
Just needing Hadjii's actions now..
Hadjii |
I agree with Calla: I don't think responsible mages cast their spells in such a way that it puts a party member at risk unless they have to; Calla would tend to adjust the area of effect it the moment she cast the spell to compensate for moves made while she conjured
Hadjii will move up 25' and use a Mythic Point to cast Hydraulic Push on the main badguy:
Hydraulic Push vs CMD: 1d20 ⇒ 20
Bandit will shift a bit and attack with a flanking bonus:
Bandit's bite attack: 1d20 + 7 + 2 ⇒ (17) + 7 + 2 = 26
if AC xx hits, then 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (5) + 3 = 8 points of damage
...*and* Bandit's TRIP attempt: 1d20 + 7 + 2 ⇒ (9) + 7 + 2 = 18 vs CMD...
GM Pox |
The other doggie thing goes poof..
Hadjii's spell pushes the Vanth back 5'..
The Vanth goes now.. He steps back up and attacks Chester twice with his scythe, activating his judgement of justice as a swift..
Attacks: 2d20 ⇒ (18, 8) = 26 1 hit lands
Damage: 2d4 + 19 ⇒ (1, 3) + 19 = 23
Next Round
Yall are up!
Hemket |
Hemket will fire at the remaining target.
deadly aim, rapid shot (2 at no penalty)
to hit: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (8) + 7 = 15 miss
to hit: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (4) + 7 = 11 miss
Chester will save: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (1) + 11 = 12 still blind
to hit: 1d20 + 18 ⇒ (19) + 18 = 37 miss chance: 1d100 ⇒ 68 damage: 1d6 + 13 ⇒ (1) + 13 = 14
confirm: 1d20 + 18 ⇒ (1) + 18 = 19 bah
Marius Bergan |
Marius will walk up and strike at Vanith.
Attack: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (10) + 6 = 16
Damage: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 1 = 6
GM Pox |
Due to the change in glitterdust layout Chester is not blinded.. Not that it matters on his attacks but still..
Calla Voni |
"Do we still have that Adamantine Weapon?" It was with Rajik, wasn't it?
If it didn't get scorched by the burning arc, do I know if he just didn't take damage from fire or avoided it entirely as through evasion?
GM Pox |
Rajik had the adamantine heavy flail yes.. Chester's scimitar is adamantine though.. You saw him hit with the flames full on, but something resisted the 7 damage..
Calla Voni |
Calla moves closer while drawing one scroll from her coat, and she swiftly opens it and finishes the spell.
"Magic Missile!" It's a scroll of CL4, by the way. Yes, I know, it's pointless to be CL4 instead of 3, but it was not me who made it. It's on F44 of the loot sheet.
Damage: 2d4 + 2 ⇒ (1, 3) + 2 = 6
Spell Resistance check 1: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (19) + 4 = 23
Spell Resistance check 2: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (11) + 4 = 15
It's super freaking hard to release a tactic spell without hitting or hindering at least some of our group..."
"Could you please surrender Ajin? It's pointless to keep this fight going!"
GM Pox |
"You have not proven yourself better than my Psychopomps yet miss!"
75/108
Hemket misses, as does Marius.. Chester lands another solid blow..
Hadjii is up!
Hadjii |
Hadjii will cast his prepared CLW on Chester, using Faith's reach so he won't have to get any closer:
1d8 + 5 ⇒ (5) + 5 = 10
Bandit will try to avoid an AoO as he steps into a flank:
BANDIT's Acrobatics check: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (14) + 11 = 25
then go for a bite;
Bandit's bite attack, with flanking: 1d20 + 7 + 2 ⇒ (11) + 7 + 2 = 20
if AC 20 (22?) hits, then 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6 points of damage
...*and* Bandit's TRIP attempt: 1d20 + 7 + 2 ⇒ (20) + 7 + 2 = 29 vs CMD...
does Bandit get another +2 to hit because Marius is nearby with the scepter?
Calla Voni |
And please just mention if the Magic Missile did anything, just to know magic is working on it.
GM Pox |
The magic missile hits and does damage.. Bandit is unable to slip around the Vanth.. Therefor no flank atm.. He misses with the attack regardless..
AoO on Bandit: 1d20 ⇒ 4 he misses..
The vanth attempts to slice Marius and cleave into Chester..
2d20 ⇒ (18, 14) = 32 both hit..
Dam Marius: 2d4 + 19 ⇒ (2, 1) + 19 = 22
Dam Chester: 2d4 + 19 ⇒ (2, 4) + 19 = 25
He then lifts off to 40' and 10' over.. All yall can make AoO's
Calla Voni |
"You have no chance! Even the two thousandth post is mine!! MUA HA HA HA!!!"
in a hurry I'll be back soon.
