Realizing that I did not give the new players a proper orientation when it comes to these maps.

The map is available from the link here in my Current Location description. The map has a letter/number system embedded in it so that we can refer to specific squares.

We use the maps, like the current Goblin Hunt Map for combat and you have the ability to move your player piece on your own. Just use the tool with the Arrow icon on the button to click and drag on the icon. We will have an Initiative order when it comes to combat, and you just need to post what your character does and then move the character where it would be when that happens.

When we're not in combat you are in free movement mode, which means just place your character wherever it would be when you post something, just keep the distances of movement reasonable.

Positioning is quite important, please do make use of the map.

On a side note, I am playing the new Pathfinder Card Game App on my phone and having a good time! I have the physical card game set up here as well and they play very similarly, but the computer makes it a good deal more efficient.

I'm not a fan of the initiative block orders. If we go that route, cam we separate it a little more?
Like in this case, my roll was very low while the other were high. Can we separate it like - 1-10, 11-20, then 21+
Or something like that.

No worries, I just wanted to know if there was any issue I could help with. Perfectly understandable that life gets busy, and if a player(or GM!) needs some time to do real life stuff it's ok.

The goblins are just behind the curtains and will rush out at the start of the turn, you caught them planning to ambush you.

Okay, one question, does the curtain hinder punching goblins in the face?

No because you're close enough to see their head.
The curtain isn't a complete block of line of sight, you can see their form in silhouette, it's just a it vague at range. But up close you can punch with confidence.

Small tip for all ranged characters: Prone characters and monsters get an +4 bonus to AC against ranged attacks, but a minus 4 against melee attacks.

So don't shoot at prone characters, but try to hit them with your sword/axe/monk fists/etc.

Also shooting in combat is very difficult. First you get a -4 because the target is in melee, (the feat precise shot eliminates this) and an additional -4 if a creature is in the way of the target. (Any friends on the battlefield count as a creature for this rule)

So shooting at a prone character who is in melee while a friend is blocking line of sight gives you effectively a - 12 to hit.

GM, is Navika allowed to change her last attack because she did not know this?

(technical detail, officially a character standing in the way gives the target a + 4 AC bonus and being prone an additional +4 AC bonus, but for less calculation errors, I usually apply those minuses on my attack roll instead.)

I knew all that, just had forgotten it. Well, i didn't know about the prone with melee/ranged, i was thinking it was the same, a bonus instead of a negative to hit. Which was why i went that route.
Basically, there are not ranged moves i can make.

The "character standing in the way" thing is why I specified shooting over Grognar's head (I think it was Grognar). I know enough about archery to believe I should be able to do that, but not enough about Pathfinder to know if I can (a creature adjacent to either the bowman or his target would be a different story).

Navika: you can move or double move to get a clearer shot.

The only way you can shoot over someone's head is if he is 1) smaller than you, and 2) you are closer to the blocking guy than the enemy is. The guy in the middle is then 'Low Cover'

I suggest you ranged guys sit this combat out, can't take long with two goblins remaining. In the next combat we will make sure you have room to shoot.

That is the drawback of a party of 6 (7 if you include the familiar) against 3 goblins, there will be sometimes characters who can do very little.

It might be a bit of fatigue with a long running game, it might be that people are just busy in the summer. I visit other game threads sometimes and the time between posts can go for a couple of days. It's quite a feat that we managed such quick posting for two months.
