Dare you take that first dreadful step? Is that the wind? What was that snap? Safely assume that it is your death one way or the other.

GM Poisonblade,

I've never played in a Play by Post game and I was thinking about getting involved in one to see how it works but I do have about 15 years table top experience in various platforms, most recently Pathfinder. I will note that I would be unavailable for play for about 1 week in December.

I have not fleshed out the entire character because I did not know if the week in December would disqualify me.

I like it so far, and I want to see more. What is Franklin though? Is he a mouse, a snake, a polymorphed great wyrm gold dragon? You see why I would want to know. IF he is something note worthy you may want to think ranger. Aside from that if he is like a rodent of some type he most certainly is a burrowing animal. I think gnomes have a racial ability or archtype that lets them speak with animals once a day or something. Why waste a feat when you get it for free.

For the holidays I will probably all but shut the game down. People would be allowed to post but not expected.

Put up some more crunch and we will get you on that list.

Ummm this is an odd circumstance but it appears that ranvar has been chosen for a PFS game. Normally pbp you can run the same character in two campaigns. But in pfs they tend to get angry about that.... But i do have Zordlon here???? sorry lol. I never foresaw this.

That's understandable. I have yet to have so much going on that I have the same character up for recruitment in more than one. I will take a look Ebon and see.

I will only allow one submission, but don't care if you switch it.

Yeah thats what i was saying :P. sorry this is the second time... If anything else happens again im just sayong screw it. Too much confusion and hassle for you. I dont want to do that.

I'd like to throw my lot in for consideration, if you're still looking. I submitted this character to another thread but it doesn't look like it's going anywhere, and I really liked this concept.

+Makvor Half Orc Mystic – Druid (wolf shaman)
+Ranvar Human Rogue Spy – replaced by Zordlon Boweave Elf Fighter (archer)
+Felix Droverson Human Rogue
+Endar Declane Male Human (Taldan) Wizard
+Mrachni Male Half-orc Cleric (Theologian) Iomedae
+Tears of the Sky Elf Invulnerable Barbarian
+Janya, a Half-orc Cleric Shelyn

Yes we are still taking potential players. I just went back and noticed my dates are all FUBAR. Saturday is our final submission date, which is the 10th not the 11th. So to counter this I am going to hold the recruitment open until Sunday, which is the 11th.

Makvor – I won’t fault you for it, but you seem to be over HP by one. Druids D8, +1 Constitution Modifier. Aside from that it is a worthy concept.

Hey maybe we will just have eight by sunday and everyone gets into the first round.

I think you forgot to add Quaylon, half elf bard from the first page?

Yep your right I did. I got side tracked by the link and thought it wasn't complete. Elves and Orcs oh my!

You need a feet, Half elves get Skill focus for free, add that minor detail and we are good and welcome to the list

Gotcha, I had included it in the skills already, both feats are skill focus, one for use magic device and the other for perception (I noted it with the racial ability, forgot to right the feat separately.)

lots of skills, no performance, Archaeologist archetype

Ah - I might have misunderstood this passage. It seems to imply that you select your favored class skill point/HP at first level, as well?

Thanks for checking, though.

A classic mistake of mine Makvor. You are good to go.

GM Poisonblade,

As far as Zatqualmie knows Franklin is just a weasel. If he is something more I'll leave that to you.

I considered the feat because I wondered if he wouldn't talk to Franklin more than once a day since they are such good friends but I chose a trait that gave him an extra use instead.

Cha 11 (1) 13 (+2 racial)

Bedroll (1sp) - 2.5lbs

Weasel, Common (2gp) - 8oz.
2 torches (2cp) - 2lb

Piecemeal Armor:
Arms: Scale +1, +3, -2, 2.5lbs (10gp)
Legs: Hide +1, +4, -2, 3.5lbs (3gp)

Total Armor Stats: AC +5, Max Dex +3, ACP -2, Weight 13.5

Remaining Gold: 54gp 7sp 8cp

Character Development:

I expect the character to phase in to his unarmed strike punching style. He will used the Spike Gauntlets early on unless he sees a serious threat then he will use the Greataxe. My goal is to phase to mostly unarmed strikes around 3rd level when the brawler bonuses start to kick in.

I considered lowering his Dex and increasing his strength with the ultimate goal of wearing full plate but then I thought he might need to be able to survive to that point first.

I might add some more gear. I'm not sure where the adventure starts or if we know where we are headed from here but if he has any ideas then he might make additional purchases based on that.

Let me know if you have any additional suggestions or if you see anything missing from this submission.

Thank you.

Mal- Nice welcome to the list. I don't have a lot of time right now, but you are on it.

Last Call for anybody that wants in, or hasn't finished there submission.

I will be making my choices in 3 hours. At that point submissions will be closed.

Recruitment is offically closed. I will put up who I have picked in a little while.

Liberty's Edge

will be interesting to hear who was picked :)

Seeing that we didn’t get a lot of entries, only nine I am going to run two games here.

One is this one and the other is going to be Hollow’s Last Hope.

Looking over both modules they are pretty short and they may not take a full year to complete in PbP. I get the feeling that they could be run in about 4-6 hours at a table if you were really trying too.

If we have lost some player’s or loose some we can decide what to do then.

So everyone that entered gets into a game.

For Into the Haunted Forest – please note the attached
Endar Dechane – you need a full alias for your character.
Felix Droverson – your character seems ready to go.
Tears of the Sky – you need a full alias for your character.
Janya Crunch – (em tastes like, bleh!) – you also need a full alias for your character

When you get alias’s made head over to the discussion board, check in and then begin posting.

For everyone else
Jatglamie Firetop
Makvor
Quaylon
Zordlon
Mruchi

Go Here
Hollow's Last Hope
and check in.

We might be looking at taking another player on for this. Same rules as the original post.

We are certainly looking for another player.

Are you looking for Hollow's Last Hope or Haunted Forest? Any preference as to race/class? Are the original recruitment rules still in effect?

Based on the last few messages in the Discussion thread, it seems to be for Into the Haunted Forest.

Also:

Haunted forest. Currently 1 mage, 1 cleric, 1... huge elf thing.

Be a good point to enter, too, I think. :)

I could enter either with half-orc (Hagar, above), or with this guy, but both are generally meatshields, wielding two-handers and not doing much else :-( I am kidding, but these are guys who are made more for combat, than for some character depth. Now, if you guys give me a chance, I am more than willing to try and expand on their characters, stories, flaws etc...

Were pretty good for beat sticks right now. That being said I never care about balanced parties. But it is still refreshing to see the atypical party (1 cleric, fighter, rogue, wizard). If you want to make one of those guys into a rogue that would be GREAT but don't feel pressured to do so.

Character build is still in effect. Including word count on backstory. Everything else is pushed aside.

I think this should be a first come first serve, unless the players veto it.

I get creative when plugging in new players. Now is as easy a time to enter as any.

I present Zou my dwarven rogue

I will need a full stat block on your allias, please. Do include where you spent your favored classs pump.

Haven't heard hide nor hair from Zou. To be honest I am wondering how well a CN gnome would fit?

If I don't hear back from you Zou by Wednesday I will consider it a dead issue and move on.

I updated my stats that y.ou asked for

There he is. I sent you a couple of PMs thats why I was thinking I never heard from you. But I think those were premature, having looked over your sheet and gotten imput.

So tell me why CN, and why a prankster type dwarf. The concept seems a little gonzo. Have you read through the game play?

yeah, I just like the idea of a dwarf that was raised outside the clan. And by gnomes nonetheless. They taught him to value rational thought and to not be swayed by good or bad but to do what he was needed. though he went a little to far with it ( hence the chaotic). The hope they have is that he will mature and outgrow this childish phase he's in, by learning to find his own way and having to depend on others to get by (a slow migration to true neutral).

And sorry didn't notice the pm's. Combination of being new here, and being on the site on my phone at work(that button is really small lol)

Have you read the in play stuff?

Yes I have good sir, and I must say I do enjoy the tilt the story has followed.

So I guess I am wondering how a CN is going to bring something good to the story. I dig the part about moving to neutral.

My take would be he saw what went down and knows they are being railroaded. He steps in to help out of contempt for the law (at least that's the reason he would give the group, though it is more likely a good conscience at work). And builds through the campaign a sense that perhaps there is a place for good (moving to chaotic good) or just a more perfect form of balance (neutral).

It may also be that we have differing opinions of what CN is I feel like CHaotic Neutral leans towrad Chaotic good just ans Neutral leans toward neutral good. The main difference being that CN would try to encourage a generally good world free of rigid law. Something akin to the way Andoran is currently. A CN may rescue a child from a burning building, but would not keep going in after more if it looked likely that he would not survive another attempt (rescuing the kid is fine but no need to lose two lives instead of only one).

I think you will work out just fine. Head over to the game play board. You might not be apart of the action for awhile but I think I can keep you entertained all the same.
