How many HP did you have? With a HD of 10, and a -1 to CON, that puts you at 9 unless you took some feat or trait to up it... and 17 damage puts you at -8.

i guess im dead then. I have never confronted something at level 1 that can kill you in one hit :P

I can't find your HP anywhere on your sheet -- what did you take as your level 1 favored class bonus?

GM:
If he didn't take a favored class bonus (as I suspect he didn't), would you allow him to retroactively take 1 HP? That'd keep him alive long enough to receive a channel and/or CLW... alternately, as a "special use" of a hero point, would you allow me to force the bull to reroll its attack?

Yeah i apparently didn't copy my hp over. And it wouldn't matter. with 9 hp(1d10 - 1(con) - 17 will still kill me.

At this point, based on his position on the map, I'm assuming that Spirit is heading the 200 yards back to the hole in the fence, and will rejoin us later? If not, since I ordered him across, I'd assume he's going to attempt to jump/climb the fence...

Round 1: Spirit - HP 17/17, Shaken 1/2

Acrobatics: 1d20 + 2 - 2 ⇒ (10) + 2 - 2 = 10
Climb: 1d20 + 1 - 2 ⇒ (9) + 1 - 2 = 8

If you need a push roll to get him to jump, here it is...Makvor didn't take a move action in Round 1, so the push could have occurred at that point (and sorry for the confusion about the fence - not used to the nice maps..:-P)

Handle Animal (push): 1d20 + 4 + 4 - 2 ⇒ (19) + 4 + 4 - 2 = 25

Round 2: Makvor - HP 10/10

Makvor, seeing Zatqualmie vault back to his side of the fence, thinks, It's bad enough that I'm still over here, now I have to worry about him? Then he sees Zordlon launch himself over and get gored by the bull. Insanity...pure insanity. I told them to run, why are they coming back??

He screams to Zatqualmie, "What are you doing?? Get over that fence!", then does what he can for Zordlon and vaults the fence himself.

Makvor casts Stabilize on Zordlon, which should hold him at -8 until we can do something else for him, or at least take him back to town for the healer to deal with. Then, he moves and vaults the fence, hoping Zatqualmie can get over as well.

Acrobatics: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (19) - 1 = 18

Round 2 Bull undamaged

Makvor calls to the spirits of the wilds and stablizes the elf (assuming the favored class point as per discussion page) he is still alive.

The bull however seems to have other desires on the elf. Smashing and tossing the elf along the ground the Bull shifts this way and that. Causing him to move a bit triggering the entangle.

Damage to helpless Zord 1d8 + 10 ⇒ (4) + 10 = 14
Save for Entangle 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (15) + 3 = 18

Quayon realizes the elf is out of reach and quite dead.

Both Makvor and Quayon know that this is quite normal behavior for a pissed off aggressive bull.

Scrambling over the fence Spirit begins panting. Wolves are just not made for climbing, but the wolf makes it all the same, he begins heading back towards Makvor, a little excited by the smell of fresh blood.

Shaken effect is over for everyone as of the Bull's turn if not before.

Mrachi and Zat have round 2 actions to post.

Mrachni sighs and bows his head, muttering. "May there be justice in death, for whom was not in life."

He waits by the fence to see if Zatqualmie needs help getting over. Delay until after Zat's turn, then either help him over and back (slowly) away from the bull, or just back slowly away from the bull (if Zat doesn't need help).

The gnome has a flash of his childhood, watching people pick on him for being different, watching those who were larger than him pick fights and hurting him just because they could. Watching his new friend being violently injured brings these memories to the surface.

Round 2 (revised): 11/11

Mrachni exclaims aloud in orcish. "Stulba rūķis! Ko jūs darāt?! Jūs gatavojas iegūt sev nogalināti!"

Orcish:
Stupid gnome! What are you doing?! You're going to get yourself killed!

If Zat's hit didn't drop the bull:

He hops (climbs) over the fence, but stays next to it. (Moving to M14 via M13 if I can occupy the same space as the fence -- if not, L14.)

He then whispers softly in some unknown language and a foggy mist appears, surrounding everyone. Obscuring mist 20' radius around Mrachni, 20% miss chance if 5 feet away, and all sight beyond 5' is obscured.

Leaning forward to speak right into the gnome's ear, Mrachni says (loudly, but not yelling): "Get out of here NOW!"

Bull Headed Update

You note the bull's movement as apart of his action last turn. It was not a shift it was a portion of a movement, while goring Zord.

Spirit got a new mini, not that it looks very good...to small for the detail.

The group can plainly hear the sounds of a horse moving down the road towards them at high speed. Though they cannot see it. A loud rattling whistle assualts their ears, making Spirit yap in annoyance, as if to say Knock off that rackit will ya!

Hey HEY!!, are there folks in the mist, I saw something on the ridge, came riding hard, but the mist just came up all of sudden. What the h*ll's going on! the voice is clearly feminine.

as it's about to get real, we are to post in order. Though this isn't true of typical combat. For this round it is.

Makvor it's to you.

Did I misunderstand? I thought Makvor went over the fence away from the bull with the only people on this side being Mrachni, Zatqualmie and the elf formerly known as Zordlon?

Yepper. I missed that somehow, thank you for the heads up. Makvor is in his correct area, will update in round 4.

Makvor, fearing for the rider's safety, runs along the fence toward the sound of hooves, yelling "There's an enraged bull in the road - turn back! It has killed one of us already!"

As I can't see the map, I'm gonna guess on this one. There seems to be some confusion as to whether climbing is a "move action" or if it's part of standard movement. If it's part of standard movement, I'm going to do a full run (4x) then hop the fence. If it's a move action, then if I am out of the mist after a single move (which I should be, after 30', I think), I'll go ahead and climb back over. If not, I'll spend whatever portion of my second move I have to in order to leave the mist and won't climb over.

Acrobatics: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (6) - 1 = 5
Climb (if there's a move action left): 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (16) - 1 = 15

If you preform any movement before reaching the fence with a successful Acrobatics check you can vault the fence as a swift action as apart of your move through the square with the fence. With the Acrobatics the fence does not hamper your move. Its like your hopping over it by using your hands on the top rail.

If you fail the acrobatics the fence stops you and you must climb it. The climbing eating up the rest of that movement but making it to the otherside. Then you would be able to continue your turn, another move a standard etc, but no swift if you attempted that Acrobatics. This potentially could short you squares, etc.

In this case you move down the fence one full move, fail to hop it and must climb ending your move on the other side of the fence and ready to do what Makvor does with the rest of his turn. Yelling is a free action.

M Half-Orc (Mystic) Druid (Wolf Shaman) 1 | HP 10 | AC 16 FF 14 T 12 | Saves +4/+3/+6 | Init + 4 | Percep +7

Okay, so then I will do exactly that - one move action along the fence, then another move action to climb over, yelling to the approaching rider.

Makvor comes out of the mist down the length of fence and on the road he sees a beautiful red haired girl mounted on a fiery sorrel stallion. In her hand she holds a short staff that is split down the middle, spinning it about her head it is clearly the source of the rattling whistling sound. Along the saddle you see a rather long spear, a lasso, and some other odds and ends. She wears no armor but her lithe petite frame suggests a hint of hidden reserve brought on by hard farm work.

Fray

Her hand drops and the noise stops. Staring at the Druid her jaw drops. Her horse pawing the ground anxiously turns in place, though the lass’s eyes never leave the half orc.

O-me-gosh, an Orc! she says at a whisper. Shaking her head to clear the surprise she continues Did you say a bull killed someone? I thought I saw Bedeviled. That must be him I hear.

Kicking up the horse she begins to ride around the fog yelling shaking the strange device, resuming its noise.

Ho Bull Ho, Bedeviled come on Boy out! HO BULLY BULL.

Handle Animal 1d20 + 10 + 2 ⇒ (8) + 10 + 2 = 20

Upon hearing its trainer the bull paws the ground
Woman calls, must go to woman, she has grain and the rope, I will get the rope if I am not good, foul RED thing stands in the way
and tramples. Save for Entangle 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5

Going the shortest route to wear it believes the caller is at, which is directly over the Gnome.

Rules for Trample:
Targets of a trample can make an attack of opportunity, but at a –4 penalty. If targets forgo an attack of opportunity, they can attempt to avoid the trampling creature and receive a Reflex save to take half damage.

Reflex DC 18 for half.

Damage from Trample:
2d6 + 10 ⇒ (5, 3) + 10 = 18

...and all that would have happened if the bull could have moved, but he cannot thanks to a fast acting Half Orc Druid, in a furious rage Bedeviled begins thrashing its horns at the ground and trying to pull free of the grasping plants.

What's wrong with MY bull, he sounds like he's dying! the girl yells at Makvor over the ferocious bellowing.

Why did Zordlon have to die? Why did this bull have to die? What terribly tragedies fell upon this place?

Why didn't we just sneak around! Why was the elf so stupid! Poor bull! Animals don't need to die senselessly! WHAT HAPPENED HERE?!

Remain quiet, Mrachni said we'd talk later... Remain quiet, trust your friend.

...am I cursed...

I had heard there were strangers in town. scanning the group.

None so strange as they are stupid

I am sorry that your friend was killed. I was coming to check for the bull I heard he was out. Everyone from around here would have avoided him. My father's men will take care of the expenses to bury the elf proper. Still I haven't caught your names, are you meaning to keep them from me?
her flicking eyes growing hard, much too hard for someone with such a young pretty face.

My name is Quaylon, and these companions I have just met this morning. Quaylon escorts the woman to the rest of the group.

He introduces Mrachni and Markvor to her, though cannot bring himself to look at the gnome.

With a curt nod, and a set jaw, she wheels her horse in a tight circle and gives it the touch of spurs.

The spirited mount takes off in a flash, dust foging the group in its wake.

They were heading in the direction of town.

Throw a sense motive if you want to

Edit the Sense Motive goes for everyone, when you get the chance.

Makvor watches the girl ride off. "If we're to help this town, we should get going. Nothing to be done about things now." He whistles for Spirit, confirms that the wolf is unharmed, then continues down the road, not waiting for the rest of the group.
