Male Half-Elf (Varisian) Cleric of Sarenrae 1

it has to be because she is a cat

Adriano stands with Phillip waiting for the ladies to give the ok to look. But something in Adriano decides to peek over his shoulder.

Perception: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (10) + 7 = 17

Male Human Gamemaster

(The guys should be grateful Sasha isn't carrying her bow and arrows.)

(And for the record: Ashana, read that spoiler, you were right next to her. The DC 25 was for the guys. And Phillip, a natural 20 is always a "win" on skill checks, just like a "1" is always a fail.)

(So if everybody is ready to tackle the shipwreck...are you going in from one of the big holes in the side, or onto the deck?)

Male Human Aegis 1

Unless that's a house rule of yours, Skill checks don't autopass/fail. In any case, I was told not to look, so I'm not gonna look. :P I'm gonna earn it.

Male Human Aegis 1

Assuming we're allowed to turn back now, It looks like there are a few ways into the Tattooed Lady. I could come in through the sides, Adriano, if you and the others want to take the top?

Adventures in Spoiler land, the place where parties split and time flows strangely?

Male Half-Elf (Varisian) Cleric of Sarenrae 1

"Wouldn't it be best if we stayed together searching all together rather than splitting up."

Male Human Aegis 1

Just an option, Phillip says, shrugging.

Male Human Gamemaster

(So sides or top? Either are viable.)

Female Catfolk Rogue(Scout/Knife master) 1

The perception check was actually to check the wreaked ship

Ashana will head off towards one of the holes in the side of the ship. "The hole looks good enough for a starting point.

Male Human Gamemaster

(All right, here's the link: Tattooed Lady - the hold. Place your characters accordingly. "Sun" on the squares marks where the sunlight is coming through from holes in the deck above.)

Ashana moved to the hull of the ship, and peered inside. Sunlight streamed through multiple holes in the wood, from the upper deck, the sides, from all directions. She heard water squishing on the hull's bottom. There was an overpowering stench of dead fish, a very ocean-like smell.

(How's your Perception, Ashana? Any darkvision?)

Edit: You enter from the southern side of the Tattooed Lady, anywhere along Row 13 on the map.

Female Catfolk Rogue(Scout/Knife master) 1

No darkvision and only a +4 on perception. For a cat I'm not very observant.

Ashana will hold her nose as the strong dead fish smell comes to it and she will walk in.

Perception to search the ship: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 4 = 7

What direction are we approaching the ship from?

Male Human Aegis 1

The south, as was edited into his post above. I'm going to place phillip as if you are going to the big hole, Ashana. Once you place yourself, I'l move to compensate.

Female Catfolk Rogue(Scout/Knife master) 1

I placed my self on the map

Male Human Aegis 1

I've re-placed myself on the map.

Male Human Gamemaster

(The strong sunlight coming through the holes in the deck means only a few places are dark - you have no problem seeing around the hold. A foot of seawater covers the bilge stones on the bottom of the hull.)

Ashana's foot hit something hard hidden in the water. Reaching down, she brought up an old, rusty short sword. It is fairly nondescript, and also just a common short sword. Rust covers the cutting edge, and the bronze hilt has discoloration.

(Everybody give me another Perception check.)

Male Human Aegis 1

Perception1d20 ⇒ 2

So, I see all the phat lewts, right? :P

Male Half-Elf (Varisian) Cleric of Sarenrae 1

Placed

Perception: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (1) + 7 = 8

Phillip I see the same Phat Lewts you see

Male Human Aegis 1

Who's Andreas, and why is he/she in a wall?

Male Half-Elf (Varisian) Cleric of Sarenrae 1

Doh, that is what I get for update all my games in multiple windows. Put Adriano in front of the hole.

Male Human Gamemaster

(Well, with those scores, nobody sees or hears anything out of the ordinary.)

The bright sunlight shimmering on the water in contrast to the darkened interior is almost dazzling, making it hard to see inside the hold of the Tattooed Lady.

(Feel free to move around. Who's searching? Who's looking/going for the main deck?)

Female Human Ranger 2D10

"Pah!" Sasha says, covering her nose with one hand. "Smells worse in there than a Kaneano pool." She stood behind Phillip, next to Adriano.

Perception check: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (10) + 6 = 16 (Nope, she's still outside, doesn't see/hear anything unusual.)

Female Catfolk Rogue(Scout/Knife master) 1

Ashana jumps a little as her foot hits the sword. "Hmm does anyone else want this, I have no use for it actually. Though from the rust on it I don't see it being of use to anyone..."

Second perception check: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (5) + 4 = 9

Male Human Aegis 1

I'll look for a way up. I moved from E12 to I9.

Female Human Ranger 2D10

Sasha moved up (to E10 on the map) into the sunlight, peering around. She had her rapier drawn, not trusting anything. "It smells worse inside than it does outside." the redhead said unnecessarily. "Well, if you found a sword, maybe there's more here." she told Ashana.

Male Human Gamemaster

(Phillip, the mast you are next to (I08 on the map) has several grooves in it for handholds. You can easily climb up with a DC 5 check. This means the Tattooed Lady was probably a fishing vessel, since expenses like stairs was not built into the ship. It would also explain the smell.)

(One last Perception check inside the hold, folks. Just to make sure.)

Male Half-Elf (Varisian) Cleric of Sarenrae 1

Adriano is going to follow the rest of the search party into the hold moving over near Phillip at K10. "It smells like a hot day on the docks at Riddleport in here."

Perception: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (5) + 7 = 12

Female Catfolk Rogue(Scout/Knife master) 1

Ashana moves up to Phillip(H-9) on the map and will take one last look around the hold before trying to climb up to the next deck.

Perception check: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (1) + 4 = 5
Climb Check: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (15) + 6 = 21

Male Human Aegis 1

Perception1d20 ⇒ 3

Awesome. Again, all the phat lewts shall be mine.

Yeah, it's definitely no picnic.

Male Half-Elf (Varisian) Cleric of Sarenrae 1

We have proven we can't search for nothing we should just take 10 or 20, lol.

Male Human Gamemaster

Ashana easily scampered up from the hold to the deck of the Tattooed Lady. (Use the map of the deck as well as the map of the hold.) The fresh air was definitely better than the dank smell below.

Female Human Ranger 2D10

"Hey! Wait for the rest of us!" Sasha called out, putting her rapier away and also taking handholds on the mast. (Going to I09 on the deck map.) Climb check: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (15) + 1 = 16

Male Half-Elf (Varisian) Cleric of Sarenrae 1

Adriano will follow the ladies up to the deck Watching carefully where Sasha put her hands and feet.

Climb Check:1d20 ⇒ 5

Male Human Aegis 1

I'll take 10 on the climb check => 15

Phillip follows up after Adriano climbs up or doesn't.

Female Catfolk Rogue(Scout/Knife master) 1

As Ashana is climing she looks over her shoulder "I can't help it you're slower than me. Where's your adventurous spirit?"

Ashana will move over to the door(G-8) and check it for traps and to see if its locked. She will take 10 on the door for a total of 14 on her perception check.

Male Human Gamemaster

(Everyone makes it up to the deck of the Tattooed Lady.)

Ashana padded lightly across the worm-eaten wood and inspected the door. The door, although weather-worn and warped slightly, did not appear to be trapped in any way, nor locked at all.

(Be sure to place yourself on the deck, rather than the hold.)

Female Human Ranger 2D10

"Hold on, I'm helping Adriano again." Sasha explained as she aided the Varisian half-elf. (+2 to Climb check.) "He's got a problem with cliffs and such. Ha!" she joked.

Male Half-Elf (Varisian) Cleric of Sarenrae 1

Adriano looks embarrassed as he takes his time climbing with Sasha's help for the second time. (taking 20) "Thanks"

Female Catfolk Rogue(Scout/Knife master) 1

Feeling pretty confident that the door isn't trapped Ashana will push it open and scan the room.

Perception check:1d20 + 4 ⇒ (18) + 4 = 22

Male Human Gamemaster

The door practically fell apart in Ashana's hands, several pieces fragmenting and falling to the deck. Beyond the door is a simple arrangement - one room for the fishing crew, one room for the ship's captain and navigator, and a tiny galley. Multiple holes in the ceiling easily let the sunlight through, lighting the corridor and rooms. There is no sign of the previous inhabitants.

Male Human Aegis 1

Well, come along then, Phillip says to Sasha and Adriano, moving up to Ashana. We should stick together. One fall could be all it takes.

Male Half-Elf (Varisian) Cleric of Sarenrae 1

Adraino moves up to Phillip waiting for the group to move in.

Female Catfolk Rogue(Scout/Knife master) 1

"I agree though I also think that spreading the weight out across these boards might also help so lets fan out just a little." With that she will head towards the captains quarters and search them.

Perception check:1d20 + 4 ⇒ (16) + 4 = 20

Male Human Aegis 1

Phillip will follow behind, searching as well.

1d20 ⇒ 1

Male Human Gamemaster

(Move yourself into the deck's compartments and I'll tell you what you find.)

Male Human Aegis 1

Moved. Sorry about that, I didn't see the post come up in my campaign tab.

Male Half-Elf (Varisian) Cleric of Sarenrae 1

Adriano will move in with Phillip, watching his back and the floor to make sure he doesn't fall.

Perception: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (1) + 7 = 8

Female Catfolk Rogue(Scout/Knife master) 1

Moved to C-6 and I'm going to be checking the captains quarters

Male Human Gamemaster

(Here's the map of the deck, if you need to move yourselves.)

The floor groans and creaks ominously as you walk gingerly down the corridor into the Captain's quarters. The room is a shambles, as if someone came and tore everything to shreds intentionally. Several holes in the walls and ceilings, each the size of an insect, allow enough noon sunlight through to see clearly. It is rather stuffy in the room. Searching through the rubble, you manage to find a masterwork light mace and 4d20 ⇒ (13, 10, 1, 8) = 32 gp loose change in 24 gold, 80 silver, and 20 copper pieces. The coins appear to be two hundred to three hundred years old, and have marks from a variety of cities - Absalom, Korvosa, even Sothis.

GM rolls, nothing to see here:

Adriano 1d100 ⇒ 54
Phillip 1d100 ⇒ 93
Ashana 1d100 ⇒ 92
Sasha 1d100 ⇒ 59

(What do you do next?)

Female Human Ranger 2D10

"This place is a firetrap." Sasha mumbled, shaking her head, looking at the dry, worm-eaten wood everywhere. "One tindertwig and -poof-!" she exclaimed, snapping her fingers. The woman didn't appreciate the still-persistent smell in the ship, either.

Female Catfolk Rogue(Scout/Knife master) 1

Ashana will collect the mace and the coins. "Looks like this ship has been here for a long long time. The coins I found are a couple hundred years old."

Male Human Aegis 1

Well, either the ship is old, or they had a lot of old coins. Either could be true.

I'm going to put that stuff in the Swag Bag alias, just to keep track of it.
