You can find the pregens here on the right side of the page under Free Downloads.
We do need a healer, and Inquisitors are really good ranged characters since they're proficient with the Repeating Crossbow. I think the Pregen has its own weapons though.

Oh, yikes. There are only pregens for fighters, clerics, rogues, wizards, and the three Ultimate Combat Classes. No matter; a buddy of mine creates legal pregens on the pathfinderdb.
I'll level one of these up to 4th today and post it as an alias.
GM Odea |
I think the official pregens only include Cleric, Fighter, Rogue, Wizard from Core Rulebook and then Gunslinger, Ninja and Samurai from Ultimate Combat.
If you're really tied to playing an inquisitor, I can throw one together pretty quickly, but since I've never played one myself I can't guarantee reasonable choices will be made.
Dalligar Reldane |
Looking over the Hedge Witch, it is a pretty good looking class. You can work that class if you wish, I'm ok with it. Expect a little bit of ridicule from Dalligar. ;)
If you want me to throw together an Inquisitor for you, I can. I'll base it off the Iconic Inquisitor to keep things as true to PFS as possible.
If you want me to build one for you based off of your own prefs, I can do that too. Send me a PM with the stuff you know you want and I'll get it set up.

No preference. Witch, Bard, whatever the group needs.
(Do folks have a preference for a Debuffer or a Buffer? Do we need a walking library of Bardic Knowledge? Want to try the great fun of a Rogue in the same party as a Street Performer Bard? Also, a Witch can invest one Hex/Feat to be able to speak with any Animal at will: this might help our Druid, and perhaps an Inquisitor with the Feather Domain.)
I played through books two and three of Kingmaker as a Hedge Witch. I know the class and archetype well up to about seventh level. I'm here to help with a playtest, not try a shiny and new PC. (If I am assigned the Witch and I get to pick something I'll suggest a Ratfolk. I'm currently digging Ratfolk, and a non-Gnome would help me enjoy a different flavor from that previous PC.)
If a Hedge Witch is the group's main healer then the Healing Patron is obviously if boringly appropriate.
(Who is Dalligar, by the way? You do not seem to be an Alias of GM Odea.)

Ah.
Well, I'm still waiting to hear back from Daron Woodson/Abandoned Arts. It is he who was considering an Inquisitor. No sense pursuing the Witch/Bard/? choice too much until we know if he picks the Inquisitor or something more arcane or healing.
Our GM might also have a preference. Playtesting a party of "3 damage dealers plus a buffer" is much different for how the encounters develop than "3 damage dealers plus a debuffer".
GM Odea |
I don't have any preference really; the idea of the playtest is partly "make sure 4 people can sit down at a table with whatever they brought and play the encounters." Every group is going to be a little different; I'm largely concerned with getting the difficulty level about right (CR calculations are not perfect by any means).
As far as making a character for you, I'm willing to do so, but you're also welcome to grab your witch @ lvl 4 and re-work it to a ratfolk.

Hopefully we can continue without a mishap like that again.
So again, we have a rogue, a druid, most likely a Hedge Witch, and one undecided.
I've got traps, Ravagwen has animals and some melee, and the witch would have most of the healing and some arcane shtuff. All we really need is a full melee or a ranged character.
My offer of making an Inquisitor still stands.

Working on leveling a pre-made, society-legal inquisitor to 4. Almost done.
Then I'll try to find time today to make the Hedge Witch, unless someone else wants to do that work.
(I am not familiar with "official pre-gen rules". What do we do past first level for hit points? Any other details I need to know about?)
Any requests for certain hex or spell choices? What skills should I cover for the party?
Does our GM mind if the PC is middle-aged since that meshes well with fourth level? Is the feat Ability Focus legal to apply to a single Hex?

PFS HP for PC's only (not Animal companions etc) is Max at 1st level, then 1/2+.5 thereafter (so d6=4, d8=5, d10=6, d12=7)
There's no "official" pregen "rules" other than using the official pregens, but there are wealth-by-level guidelines that I noted in my original post (and reproduced below):
**Wealth-by-level ~6000g, I'll make it 7500, but no single item with a price greater than 5000g.
Ezren pre-gen is fine. You can even swap his spells around if you like.
davidvs |
I've never played a Wizard before. I'll just play him as written unless someone else suggests a swap of spells or other adjustments.
It does appear that his "Hand of the Apprentice" ability is miscalculated. Are we using it as published at +9 to hit? I think it should be +6 to hit (+4 from his INT Mod, +2 from BAB). (Not that a few tiny staff smacks are going to change the adventure significantly.)

Whelk, I like the build, just one thing:
If you're gonna take weapon focus, take it with a weapon you will actually be using, more than likely your Deity's favored weapon, which for Asmodeus is the mace.
For armor, I'd recommend the Breastplate. Best medium armor you can buy. If you want to enchant it, that is money well spent. If you make it Mithral, you won't be able to enchant it because Mithral Medium armor is an extra 4k, and you can't spend more than 5k on a single item.
Since you seem to be going the melee route instead of ranged, I'd recommend getting the best shield you can buy. +1 or +2 Heavy Steel is your best bet if you have the cash.
As for equipment and mundane adventure gear, that's up to you.
Abandoned Arts RPG Superstar Season 9 Top 32 |
I'll be working out equipment this morning. Since I did take flames of the faithful, I guess I should grab a mace. Unfortunate, since my falchion proficiency comes free. I think I have a better idea than Weapon Focus.
Heavy Armor Proficiency.
By the way... for those who were as confused as I was: as it turns out (according to the manual), hp after 1st is the "high" average for your die (5 hp per level beyond 1st, for me). I'll be finishing the gear this morning.
Inquisitor Halycon Whelk |
Okay, I've replaced cure light wounds with a wand of the same, and I took divine power in its place (to make up for losing Weapon Focus). I grabbed Heavy Armor Proficiency and did my equipment. I am now stomping around in full plate with a heavy shield (and a birthmark for a divine focus).
For heals I've got infernal healing, cure moderate wounds, and a wand of cure light wounds. I've got good AC and saves, and I plan to walk around bopping people with my mace, using hell's corruption, healing, and throwing around shield of faith.
Note to GM: By default, I've got my shield on and my weapon stowed at all times.
Note to PCs: If you've got important, save-based effects you want to use, consider waiting for me to hit someone with hell's corruption first (there's no save). When and where appropriate, this will probably be my first priority in "serious" combats.
Ready to go whenever.

Yay discussion thread!
So the situation with Ravagwen is as follows:
She had to move, and where she moved doesn't have wifi, so the only way she can get internet access is to go off campus, and she can only do that on weekends.
So until she gets back, assume she's GM PC'd unless she's super, super important, like say she's the only one that can read some special piece of parchment.
Thanks for your patience guys!
