All others feel that they will be compelled to tell the truth and only the truth.

Will saves for Zone of Truth – you may look to see the results:

Diplomacy rolls to influence the lion: I will take all the posts of Alice (with +2), Baied, Crisicus, Lynn, Zzorn (with +2) and Heria into account. I will roll diplomacy here with your joint efforts.

Diplomacy rolls to see how you have already affected the lions attitude – you may look:

Nonetheless, your presentation also made clear to me that those major gods who are generally associated with the Taldan people are Abadar, Cayden Cailean, Norgorber, and Shelyn. Lion wrote:

Alice shrugs, and supporting Heria's comment,

"I suppose we are. Yet i'd like to see if from a different angle. If none seek to learn of the events in the past, there is greater a risk of calamities of the past to repeat themselves, whatever shape or size they come upon the world, and the ones it befalls would be less likely prepared to face it."

Nobody is really talking to me anymore ... well in the past decade or so. But why push into the Worldwound at all?", asks the lion, suddenly letting a magical image of the Worldwound and Mendev appear just in front you.

The image then shifts to that of the Wardstones. "The demons are perfectly well contained, are they not? Isn't it true that you just seek power to steal from Taldor? You still have not identified yourself although I have asked several times!"

Oblivious of his thirst for knowledge, Zzorn is nonetheless excited and willing to share his views on the current political struggles and happenings in Avistan, Taldor in particular, and he presents his true intentions as well.

"My apologies as I can sometimes talk too much. I do not do this to conceal my true intentions, but because I'm very proud to have been accepted, truly accepted, in Taldan society. As you can tell from my physical heritage, my ancestors are from The Lands of the Linnorm Kings, but I am third generation here, as I've already recounted. We work for the Pathfinder Society, an organization dedicated to the gathering of knowledge and artifacts. Historical preservation if you will. This task has been handed to us by Lady Glorianna Morilla, who is at the head of the Sovereign Court, a members-only organization comprised of second-tier nobles, with the common purpose of steering national policy in the various lands they operate. I suspect that it is no accident that all members of the Sovereign Court are also Pathfinders, as it grants them diplomatic immunity to travel anywhere in Avistan, including in hostile lands such as Cheliax and Razmir.
For an empire in decline such as Taldor, war is both a blessing and a curse. On one hand it drains resources from already dwindling coffers. On the other hand, it provides a cause to rally behind, spurring squabbling houses to cooperate and struggling industries to increase production. Such is Lady Gloriana Morilla's thinking, I believe, and she is now trying to convince the Taldan nobility to send more support to Mendev to combat the Worldwound. The Wardstones, you see, are failing. In numerous campaigns that united nations against a common evil, Taldor had led the charge, so why not do so again and return Taldor to the spotlight?
Although Lady Morilla found a few like-minded allies at home, many of her peers laughed off the idea. Sending more troops north would leave the southern border vulnerable to Qadiran aggression, argued some, whereas others simply laughed off the idea as idle fancy by an upstart who had spent more time in Absalom than in Oppara. Since words were not enough, Lady Morilla is now, I suspect, trying to raise a self-styled Army of Exploration with the assistance of the Sovereign Court. The idea is to inspire Taldor's leadership to party less and lead more. In this regard she has so far failed, for the majority have not changed their attitudes and view her campaign as an amusing curiosity. Taldor is not a lost cause, but its inertia is too great for the faction to change it on its own...
The Pathfinder Society is happy to have the Sovereign Court as an ally, for friendly nobles are more likely to allow Pathfinders into countries where the Society had once been banned.
As for the very current situation in Taldor, well, the winds of change are blowing strongly. Lady Morilla's goals seem to align with the Princess' own designs, in that she wishes to rally the Senate on her side in order to change the ancient law of Primogeniture, and thus allow females to inherit their parent's estates, including but not limited to the Primogen Crown. If successful, Princess Eutropia Stavian I would become the first Queen of Taldor.
This, most Noble Leonine Sage, is history in the making, which you are now witnessing through us. As for your concerns of us breaking the law, I firmly believe they are unfounded. I have peerage in Taldor, and I am entitled to the truth. The bureaucracy and institutions of Taldor exist to serve the people of Taldor, but should not seek to conceal the truth or blind the nobility with false records. As a noble of Taldor I believe it is my right to be here and seek the truth, but I admit that due to your wisdom and knowledge of ages you may know of laws that could prevent nobles to enter these premises, laws which I am not at the moment aware of. However, if you know of such law, I can produce paperwork from Princess Eutropia herself that allows us to be here. However this could lead to some embarrassment for the Princess, and by extent, embarrassment for Taldor, so I would rather avoid the paperwork solution.
Instead of this, I can promise you regular reports from the outside world, and to this effect, after this task, I can seek a more permanent membership access to these secret archives, or if you know of a magical method in which I could contact you, I can also do that instead.
What say you, Noble One? Do you deem us worthy in the eyes of Taldor and the greater good of Avistan?"

The lion smiles.

"Firstly, I have to say that I enjoyed your portray of the current Taldan events very much. I am becoming fonder and fonder of you people ... BUT ..."

The lion raises its eyebrow. "... Pathfinders? I have heard of your organization.", he says, switching the image to the Glyph of the Open Road. "Treasure hunters, yes? Looking for gold and powerful artifacts deep in a Dwarven sky citadel?" The image shifts again, this time to a tall tower near a deep crater.

"If you are merely here trying to find information by which you can raid yet another location of its priceless artifacts, I really see no reason to assist you...and no reason to call the guards. Why shouldn't I?" he says with a sly smile.

"Because you are right about the truth. I have always questioned why a secret library must be kept. Truth is not always convenient to those in power, but it must be maintained. Here, the archives of truth are kept safe for future generations, but in such a way that it does not disrupt the order of the present time. Surely, you understand. But I also understand your current position and your offer to provide me information is very tempting ... especially since the new headmaster forbid the staff and the Lion Blades to talk to me about current events!"

The lion pauses for a moment.

"But ... this Lady Morilla!? She has no authority to send troops here - this is the property of the Lion Blades! And Princess Eutropa?! She has no more right to send soldiers here than Lady Morilla! This is remarkable! Is Princess Eutropa trying to undermine the emperor so much?"

He continues "Additionally, I still have issues to understand why the Worldwound is suddenly sooooo important! And I do not believe that the Wardstones are failing ... they worked for ages!" he says incredulously.

Zzorn has no firsthand knowledge of Wardstones failing other than the general rumors and meta-plot of Season 5, "Year of the Demon" which is now in the past of the campaign; so technically, the failing Wardstones happened in past scenarios such as "The Traitor's Lodge" which I have played with other PCs. Here's Zzorn's personal knowledge of the events involving Crusader Queen Galfrey and Khorramzadeh, the demons' commander. Knowledge Nobility: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (1) + 11 = 12

If the above roll is sufficient for very general, commonly known world events, a summary of recent events in the Worldwound follows, which Zzorn will relay to the Lion:
A new leader emerged amongst the demons in 4692 AR, a powerful balor known as Khorramzadeh, the Storm King. He and his forces were able to damage the Kenabres wardstone and cross the frontier, but were eventually driven back. This worrying development led to the calling of the Fourth Crusade in order to defeat the new menace before he had the chance to unite more of the demons under his banner. Lasting 15 years, this was the longest and most exhausting of the four crusades and ended in 4707 AR more out of sheer fatigue on the part of the crusaders than any major victory or other positive tactical development.

Mendev is now at the start of the Fifth Mendevian Crusade. With little hope of achieving a complete victory, the crusaders seem to have settled for merely containing the ever-present threat.

"Thank you Criscius and Zzorn for showing me the darkness that could engulf all Taldor."

The lion contemplates for a while and then looks at you all with a certain hope in his eyes.

“Well, to be honest you had me for a while now but I was so alone in the last 10 years or so ... and ... and wanted more information!" he says with some guilt in his eyes.

"I believe that the information you seek can be found in the exclusive libraries behind me. Unfortunately, I know little of its contents other than the fact that they are secret. Still, I may be of some assistance...assuming you are willing to help me.“ the lion pleads.

„I've long wished to leave the confines of this library. I believe that there exists something within the deeper library which will allow me to do so. If you find the means to do so, could you please help me?"

Alice makes a faint bow with her head at the lion, in respectful thanks.

"Very well, we will keep an eye out for anything which may match your request. Thank you, guardian."

„Thank you Pathfinders! After the discussions with you I have decided that I'd rather leave my beloved library. The Lion Blades don't really appreciate my true value, especially not under the new headmaster. I can be a part of the solutions needed in this endangered world! Be assured that even if you do not find a way for me to escape, I will not tell of your presence here." and with this sentence the lion bows.

„What you need to know is that the most carefully guarded books, which could provide what you seek, are kept in secret chambers behind this library."

With a stern look he continues "I have to warn you about the blind caretaker that you will find beyond this hall. She is kind but also bitter. And the doors there will likely all be locked – although I can help you with the doors behind me.“

The lion nods, then you hear a click - the doors on each of his sides are now unlocked.

Then the lion smiles again “Additionally, I can also answer questions about where to find particular books in this very large library!“

Everybody receives +2 on skill checks to search for clues in this large room.

With the lion's offer, Alice' thoughts drift about.

This might well be an opportunity to get in favor with the lady.

"Guardian, are there any books on the occult, or dark rituals in the library?"

Alice will ignore any concerned looks that might be coming her way.

Dark archive wants dark/dangerous/rare items for study.
She could copy/document any interesting pages.

Do not worry and just post an appropriate answer for Lynn based on the situation we are currently in. :-)

Shrugging at the talk about the workaround, Heria speaks up for a moment.

"I know not of the scenario happening near the worldwound, but I can say that nobles and trade merchants are starting to join the society. There is a young woman who is about to start schooling with the society after seeing how we help others, outside of ruin delving and treasure hunting."

After your assurances the lion looks at Heria "Maybe this could also be a position that I could have in the future - tutoring young souls and watching them grow. Thank you Heria for this idea and vision!"

Lynn piped up from the back of the group finally, "Hello my name is Lynn, oh great guardian, and to answer your question i'm a sailor, adventurer, scholar, and traveling bard, though i do have a job back in Absalom when i'm off duty with the society. If you are in search of new information I would recommend the halls of the grand lodge, or perhaps some of the libraries in Absalom. The guild will surely keep you up to date on current events. Though as a recent adventure has enlightened me , true knowledge cannot be learned second-hand. So if we are able to free you from these confines then you should find your own adventures and learn yourself as well."

Calculation, taking 10: 10 + 11 + Glorymane 2 + ESOTERIC ALPHABETIZATION 2 + CROSS REFERENCE 3 + Scorpion 2 + 5 additional assists from party members 10 = 40 for B5
Total Time Spent by Party so far: 7.5 B3 + 15 B4 + 10 Lion RP + 15 B5 = 47.5 min ==> Round down to 45min to account for Team 2's early contribution.

Zzorn also uses the CARD CATALOGUE to figure out how many texts we missed in Rooms B3 and B4.

Going forward, I think we should keep using the whole party like we did for room B5.

As three further characters have entered comments I assume you agree with Zzorn's process. I just would want to have all your votes to really be sure you want to use the benefit provided by CARD CATALOGUE to figure out how many texts you have missed in Rooms B3 and B4.

Large room – B5 - Total time elapsed until now ~45 minutes.

CLUE 1. Prolific Author
It appears that a long-dead historian wrote more than a dozen books on the topics you’re researching. Perhaps you can find other insightful books by this author.

Clue: You may use this clue to gain a +3 bonus on a single skill check made to find texts.

CLUE 2. BIBLIOGRAPHIC REFERENCES
Several relevant books have extensive indices and bibliographies that might point to even greater discoveries.

Clue: You may use this clue to gain a +5 bonus on a single skill check made to find texts.

CLUE 3. HIDDEN GEM
Right next to one great discovery, you make another incredible find!

Clue: Use this clue when you or another PC discovers a clue or text to find one additional clue or text, if any remain in the room. (If attempting ot use this in a room that doesn’t have any more clues, it doesn’t count; this clue can be used again.)

CLUE 4. An Exciting Read
You have found several particularly engaging texts, and you find it particularly easy to concentrate on the reading.

Clue: Use this clue before a PC rolls a skill check to find a clue or text. He rolls twice and takes the higher of the two rolls.

CLUE 5. MAGICAL ASSISTANCE
Some of the bookshelves bear a minor enchantment that aids researchers, such as briefly granting the benefits of read languages or creating an unseen servant to aid in collecting documents.

Clue: After the PCs roll skill checks to find documents, any of them may reroll the check before learning the result.

CLUE 6. Ruined Book
This book is a testament to why libraries should prohibit food and drink; someone spilled a beverage on it and sheepishly put it back on the
shelf, where it has sat for several months at least.

Clue: NO CLUE
