GM NotEspi |
The remaining creature runs past Zahira and she gives it a solid slice. It barely manages to reach the door, opens it and shouts something about two locks.
Tulok! Help me!

Violet -14
Orange -13
Green -11
Stabilise Violet vs 11: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (10) + 2 = 12
Kiddir |
Kiddir runs around him in a semicircle, using the fact that the enemy hesitated at the door, and deftly hooking his leg.
Trip: 1d20 + 5 + 2 ⇒ (16) + 5 + 2 = 23
AoO: 1d20 + 5 + 1 ⇒ (8) + 5 + 1 = 141d6 ⇒ 6
(if by some miracle he'll be still alive and gonna get up in front of Kiddir)
Lady Mae |
Mae peers her head around the corner to get a bead on the situation. Once she sees the trogs are no longer a threat she'll move into the room and check on one of the downed lizardmen to make sure he's not faking. Heal: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (18) + 6 = 24 and discreetly stabilize him.
"This one won't be back in the fight!
Durun Ghosteye |
Durun races back into the room and prepares to fire off a cold blast at the first enemy that enters the room!
Cold Blast: 1d20 + 4 + 1 ⇒ (11) + 4 + 1 = 16
Cold Damage: 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5
Could someone move Durun's icon into the square 'north' of Orange?
Celegon |
Celegon quickly darts through the door and spins with an arrow notched, letting an arrow fly into the back of the troglodyte that just called for help.
Attack(Green trog): 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (19) + 6 = 25
Damage: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2
Zahira Nefritovvy |
Zahira pursues the foe to finish what she started...
pata, flank: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (10) + 5 = 15
damage: 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 2 = 8
...stabbing the troglodyte deep in the chest.
GM NotEspi |
Kiddir drops the troglodyte to the ground before Celegon and Zahira finish it off - no mercy.
Seeing what you did to his companions, the troglodyte from the other room hurls its javelin at Celegon.
Javelin: 1d20 + 0 ⇒ (1) + 0 = 11d6 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 1 = 6
Seriously though.
But it slips from his hand and breaks against the wall next to the door.

Lady Mae |
Mae winces as she sees the fleeing trog cut down in a flurry of attacks. She then moves over to check on the 'orange' trog that was dropped earlier. Heal: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (19) + 6 = 25 "This one is out of the fight as well. How many are in that other room?" She then discreetly stabilizes the dying lizardman.
So much death...
Celegon |
Celegon cocks his head to the side as he addresses the troglodyte.
Longbow w/ Point Blank and Bless: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (7) + 6 = 13

Acrobatics to avoid attack of opportunity: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (12) + 2 = 14
Zahira moves adroitly into the room and stabs at the new foe...
pata, blessed: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 4 = 7
damage: 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6
...but winds up badly off-balance.
Durun Ghosteye |
Durun moves between the two fallen foes and sends a blast of cold, but slips on troglodyte blood and his ray misses completely!
Cold Blast: 1d20 + 4 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 4 + 1 = 7
Out and about again if someone could move Durun's icon into the square between orange and green?
GM NotEspi |
Kiddir's eyes fill with fire and he rages out at the troglodyte in the room. Tulok's head quickly ends up where his feet should be and he lies on the ground. Immediately afterwards, he attempts to stand up and Kiddir siezes the opportunity to smack him a bit more.
Zahira gets an AoO as well. We'll continue afterwards.
Zahira Nefritovvy |
pata, blessed: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (1) + 4 = 5
damage: 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 2 = 8
Zahira, on the other hand, tries a direct, vicious lunge, but fumbles horribly.
Celegon |
Celegon drops his bow and pulls out his rapier as he moves forward to flank Tuloc.
One more action to draw his rapier, one move action to move 30' into the next room.
Also, yay! I finally figured out how to add an image to my character!
Kiddir |
NotEspi - no, he's not. Kiddir's AC was 20 at that moment, because he had rage on dex (+2 AC, 20 total). Rage finishes only on his new turn - right now ;) Sorry I didn't write this just in a previous post!
Sword: 1d20 + 5 - 2 ⇒ (1) + 5 - 2 = 41d6 ⇒ 3
Shocked by the fact that troglodyte almost hit him, Kiddir deals a so uncoordinated blow that it almost looks funny.
Damn!
Feeling tired, he goes right back. (5-foot-step)
Lady Mae |
Seeing the battle still firmly under control Mae will move over and check on the green lizardmen, to make sure he's out of commission... and of course to discreetly stabilize him if he's not dead. heal: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (13) + 6 = 19
"If you can talk to him Celegon maybe he'll surrender peacefully!"
Durun Ghosteye |
Sorry! I thought I had posted my actions for this round...
Durun rushes into the room and fires off yet another ray of freezing energy at the troglodyte!
Cold Blast: 1d20 + 4 + 1 ⇒ (12) + 4 + 1 = 17
Cold Damage: 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (5) + 3 = 8
GM NotEspi |
Tulok takes some hits, but remains on his feet. He responds with more violence directed at Zahira.
Claw, Zahira: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (14) + 2 = 161d4 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2
Claw, Zahira: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (16) + 2 = 181d4 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2
Bite, Zahira: 1d20 + 2 - 5 ⇒ (2) + 2 - 5 = -11d4 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5
He swipes at her with both hands and attempts to bite her as well. One of the swipes cuts her. A bit. 2 damage

"Is that the best you can do?" She says as she gestures toward the scars in her cheeks with her free hand, before thrusting forward with her weapon!
pata, blessed, flank: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (20) + 6 = 26

Critical threat!: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (19) + 6 = 25
critical damage, Killer: 2d6 + 7 ⇒ (6, 5) + 7 = 18 =26!
GM NotEspi |
Zahira fights dirty. While Celegon distracts the creature, she takes the opportunity and shoves her blade through Tulok's chest.
Tulok collapses to the floor in a matter of seconds, no breathing, no pulse, nothing. His body is only a pile of stinking meat.
Combat over
Searching his body, you manage to locate a key. The room also contains a chest.
An ornate suit of studded leather armor, an ornate buckler, a well-crafted rapier, a shortbow with 15 arrows, 2 scrolls, a wayfinder, and a climber’s kit. These are in a lot better condition than the ones you found in the armory lower.
Lady Mae |
Mae watches as Tulok's chest is punctured by Zahira's strange weapon, obviously dead on impact as he drops to the floor with a thud.
"Well at least he didn't suffer. Are you ok Zahira? Let me have a look at that scratch, I don't know if these lizardmen carry any odd poisons or diseases." With that she'll insist on taking a look at her wound, first casting a spell
When someone checks out the chest she gasps at the sight of the Wayfinder. "A wayfinder! I wonder if that's from the Bard we're after? Or if they've killed someone else! What are those scrolls of Celegon?"
Celegon |
Celegon first examines the armor and equipment taking note of any interesting symbols or markings. Next he begins casting Detect Magic as he examines the items in the crate so see if anything shows up as magical. Then he casts Read Magic on the scrolls to try and determine the spells that are on them.
Durun Ghosteye |
Durun examines the condition of the gear. "I believe this would likely belong to our bardic companion." He then pats Zahira on the back as he passes. "Very nicely done, Zahira! Where exactly did you learn to wield such strange weapons?"
Zahira Nefritovvy |
"Where did I learn to fight? University of Lepidstadt," Zahira replies, indicating the twin scars in her cheeks. "My choice of weapon was unorthodox for there, though - it's more common where I come from when I was...very little."
Celegon |
"It appears that we have found a scroll of cure moderate wounds and a scroll of invisibility," Celegon says handing the two scrolls over to Lady Mae. "I would assume that since the troglodyte's key wasn't necessary to open the chest, it has the potential to open either a set of manacles or a cell door. This gives me hope that our target may still yet live. Let's check the other two doors on this level. Perhaps we shall find a match for the key."
Celegon goes over and examines the door in the back of this room, checking for traps and particularly if the door is locked.
Perception: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (14) + 7 = 21
Lady Mae |
Mae thanks Celegon for the scrolls then casts a spell and reads the scrolls over and shakes her head. "I'm afraid I can't use this one of invisibility, but I'm happy to put this curing scroll to good use... well hopefully I won't need to use it! Speaking of, I'm starting to think we're getting close to finding our bard friend, who for the life of me I can't remember his name for some reason, and I am afraid it will be more dangerous. I think we should use this scroll of shield other. It'll help protect someone and if they do get hurt, make my healing waves more efficient." She then looks around the room for any opinions. "OH! And is any of that stuff in the chest useful to use? Don't you use a rapier Celegon? I guess I kinda remember how to use one of those bucklers."
If no one else wants to use it Mae would put the buckler to use. Is any of that stuff masterwork? Also I was thinking of using the scroll on Celegon or Durun. Mae can't take a large amount of damage but the bonus to saves and AC would be helpful, I'm leaning towards Celegon since he may end up in melee combat.
Celegon |
Celegon respectfully accepts the fine quality rapier and straps his current one to his backpack. "Thank you greatly. I generally try to avoid getting in close, but it is sometimes unavoidable. I may also be able to use that scroll of invisibility if you are unable to use it."
He gently places the scroll in his scroll case so it is easily accessible for later, but still remains well preserved. He then goes back to checking the door.
Any luck finding anything in or around the door?
Lady Mae |
Since no one objects Mae will slowly and hesitantly attach the buckler to her left forearm. "Umm, is this on right? Its been a long time since I breezed through learning how to use this stuff. Not really my forte I guess." She then takes out the scroll of shield other and attempts to use it on Celegon. Caster Level Check DC4: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3 !
Mishap Check DC5 Wisdom: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (18) + 2 = 20 Whew! Is the scroll wasted or? Didn't find anything on that.
Lady Mae |
Can I try again or ? I can't remember the last time I screwed up a caster level check for a scroll!
Lady Mae |
Caster Level Check DC4: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4Whew! Scrolls I guess aren't Mae's forte Mae makes some slight corrections and the scroll fires off this time on to Celegon without any visible hitches.
This spell wards the subject and creates a mystic connection between you and the subject so that some of its wounds are transferred to you. The subject gains a +1 deflection bonus to AC and a +1 resistance bonus on saves. Additionally, the subject takes only half damage from all wounds and attacks (including those dealt by special abilities) that deal hit point damage. The amount of damage not taken by the warded creature is taken by you. Forms of harm that do not involve hit points, such as charm effects, temporary ability damage, level draining, and death effects, are not affected. If the subject suffers a reduction of hit points from a lowered Constitution score, the reduction is not split with you because it is not hit point damage. When the spell ends, subsequent damage is no longer divided between the subject and you, but damage already split is not reassigned to the subject.
If you and the subject of the spell move out of range of each other, the spell ends.
3hrs and 30' range so stay closish Celegon!
Mae then looks to the others to see if they are ready for the next door and motions for Celegon or someone to open it up.
Celegon |
Celegon readies his bow and stands back across the room with his bow trained on whatever may be inside the other room. Once everyone is in place, he begins casting to open the door.
Ready and willing to go if no one else has anything to do.
GM NotEspi |
You open the door to the next room. Within it, a man sits handcuffed, back against the wall. He is severely bruised, but otherwise seems unharmed. He looks at the door, blinded by the light produced by the brazier behind you:
Come, you bastards - you can only hurt me so much! Just end it already!
Lady Mae |
Lady Mae whispers to Celegon "What's in there? What's it saying?"
