M Kellid Shaman 8 / MT2 | HP 80 | AC 21 (17ff 18tch) | +6 fort +4 ref +13 will | +0 init +16 perc | Resource Tracker

Nice idea but it won't work, the spell description says "Objects are not damaged by the spell."

Retired - Adventure Path Complete!

...well, I'm out of ideas then. Aside from pulling out and going after the beasts at the base of the bridge.

M Kellid Shaman 8 / MT2 | HP 80 | AC 21 (17ff 18tch) | +6 fort +4 ref +13 will | +0 init +16 perc | Resource Tracker

How important is this bridge? If it's super important Kaladin can burn mythic surges to put stinking clouds over the aurochs.

Drezen Citadel Drezen Dungeon of Drezen

Its the only bridge leading to the Citadel Drezen.

The River is dried up, but having to go up the embankment will make a siege more difficult.

M Kellid Shaman 8 / MT2 | HP 80 | AC 21 (17ff 18tch) | +6 fort +4 ref +13 will | +0 init +16 perc | Resource Tracker

Unfortunately freedom of movement is not on the Shaman spell list, although it is on the cleric one so when he gets 5th level spells he'll be able to use the human FCB to get it. He does get remove paralysis however...

Technically I could cast it the round before I got into melee with a Ghoul, if I were the one initiating the melee...

Believe it or not, Belledonna isn't actually that foolish. At least not yet.

Drezen Citadel Drezen Dungeon of Drezen

Sorry for the Tardiness of my post today, I am an Assistant Principal at an elementary school and we had a bit of an issue here this morning that took up a massive chunk of my time today.

That's cool! It's interesting to know what you do for a profession; I have to admit I've sometimes wondered. I don't think I could ever work in administration...I teach high school engineering and technology myself but I don't think I have the force of personality that being an administrator would require.

Drezen Citadel Drezen Dungeon of Drezen

I really do enjoy it. This is my first year in administration, last year I was a curriculum coordinator at a middle school and I didn't like that as much. Before that I taught Social Studies at a middle school for 6 years. I love working with kids, I don't think I'd be happy doing anything else honestly.

This is my eighth year teaching since I graduated college and I really enjoy it, too. It's been a lot better the last couple of years overall since I've had a little more distance between my age and theirs...I started teaching when I was just 22. Hard to get high-schoolers to take you seriously when not even five years separates you.

No wonder you're such a taskmaster when it comes to timeliness!

Drezen Citadel Drezen Dungeon of Drezen

My sense of time I believe was taught to me by my grandfather with whom I was close. He was a WW2 Vet and a former marine, and he always preached to me that 15 minutes early was on time and on time is late. This penchant for always being early drives my wife nuts sometimes. However, it has served me well in both my military and professional career.

Oh yeah, I'm also a USAF vet and member of the Louisiana Air National Guard. I'm at drill today, which is why my post is so late.

Drezen Citadel Drezen Dungeon of Drezen

Hey guys,

Do me a favor and refrain from moving your token. Instead just draw an arrow where you want your character to move to. Also, Belle I botted your first round actions before you posted I had Belle use her haste wand and Brud cast Barkskin on Konny. I'll use your actions of Casting Magic Circle against Evil and Faerie Fire for second round actions if you haven't posted to redo them.

Sorry, I will do the arrow next time.

Konny's AC is 25 against that dirty guy.

Drezen Citadel Drezen Dungeon of Drezen

Yeah, the dirty guy is Kn:Religion to identify so...he is an undead.

Waiting on Vic

*gasp* Kn:Religion, you say?!

Retired - Adventure Path Complete!

Sorry about that--fell asleep before I had a chance to post.

Yeah, I've been trying to have her actions more indicative of a good alignment than a chaotic one, but she has a lot of baggage to shift around & I seem to have done a very good job of portraying just how broken she is, which translates much better as CN than NG...

Drezen Citadel Drezen Dungeon of Drezen

Ok, so she IS CN? I knew we had talked about that and I wasn't losing my mind. Brek is NG? I guess I figured he was TN because of the Green Faith, but its TN, NG, NE faith so..

Well, my intent is that she is NG. But I understand people interpreting her as CN. Brud is NG, which is one of the reasons he does things like voice concerns when it looks as though his spiritual leader may possibly be spiraling into a suicidal depression...

May I take advantage of the flanking this round or only next round?

Drezen Citadel Drezen Dungeon of Drezen

You can hold till after Barundar goes, then yeah you would be flanking.

Drezen Citadel Drezen Dungeon of Drezen

Anyone seen this yet?

Drezen Citadel Drezen Dungeon of Drezen

This should turn out to be the toughest encounter that you have ever faced...should be anyways. I apologize in advance if anyone dies, but know that the gods are smiling upon you and will almost certainly give you a true Resurrection spell at half cost.

M Kellid Shaman 8 / MT2 | HP 80 | AC 21 (17ff 18tch) | +6 fort +4 ref +13 will | +0 init +16 perc | Resource Tracker

Hmmm the Shaman spell list is really limited. It has protection from energy but not protection from energy communal (why paizo?). I hope somebody else can cast that.

Ah I forgot Kaladin has communal Resist Energy, better than nothing :)

Offhand, how many Mythic Power/Spell slots have I expended so far?

Drezen Citadel Drezen Dungeon of Drezen

I have used one whilst botting you. I believe you have used one or two...so around 3?

I've used a few spells here and there also but not many.

If you put all your consumables on a google spreadsheet its easy to keep track.

On the topic of Mythic points,If I were you guys I'd start using them now....@Barundar I'll be using Sudden Block every round unless you tell me otherwise, but don't forget that Radiance has its own mythic pool that you can use to alter attack rolls.

Drezen Citadel Drezen Dungeon of Drezen

Hey guys!

The good news is that the statblocks only get crazier from here!

@Barundar I used your free 1/day reroll vs incapacitation because I figured you didn't want to spend the next 1d4 rounds staggered.

M Kellid Shaman 8 / MT2 | HP 80 | AC 21 (17ff 18tch) | +6 fort +4 ref +13 will | +0 init +16 perc | Resource Tracker

If this sort of damage is going to be standard with mythic encounters, I'm beginning to wonder if I should have optimized healing more.

Loads of ways of doing that, such as taking fey foundling ;0 That would have self healed for another 10 HP.

Of course there's mythic versions of heals which are better, and maybe I should buy Navi a stronger wand. She'll need to use UMD I think but she should be good at that. There's also the empower meta magic feat.

Drezen Citadel Drezen Dungeon of Drezen

Nah, this guy ain't so bad really. He just dishes a load of hurt. He also constitutes a mythic trial so he is supposed to be really tough.

Yep. MT 2 if/when you guys kill this thing!

Retired - Adventure Path Complete!

Lovely.

You DEFINITELY assumed correctly, GM Niles. Thanks!

Retired - Adventure Path Complete!

Actually, GM, a 5-foot step doesn't cost an action. HOWEVER, you're not allowed to use it if you've already used a Move Action to actually move on the battlefield instead of standing up, drawing a weapon, or anything else that costs a Move Action to do.

Drezen Citadel Drezen Dungeon of Drezen

Correct. Barundar used his move action to stand therefore he could not also take a 5' step.

I think you are wrong here, GM. The rules say: "You can't take more than one 5-foot step in a round, and you can't take a 5-foot step in the same round that you move any distance." Standing up is not moving any distance.

How is it with standing up and Acrobatics - is it possible to avoid AoO this way or not?

Drezen Citadel Drezen Dungeon of Drezen

Yeah I'd say the same as avoiding an AoO for movement.

@Konny, just looked it up and I have been doing it wrong for a very long time. Seems you can take a move action AND a 5' step as long as you don't actually move during the move action. IE draw a weapon and 5' step, stand from prone and 5' step. Learn something everyday.

Male Dwarf Fighter (Two-Handed Fighter) 5; HP 57/63; AC 19/10/19; DR 5/evil; F+8/R+4/W+3 (+2 vs poison/+4 vs spell/SLA); Init+2; Per+1

So Barundar CAN do the stand-and-five-foot-step. Yay!

Do not worry. Everybody has got some rules wrong.

One of the advantages of pbp is, that one can look up rules without slowing the game, so I do not feel bad for pointing something up occasionally :-)

I updated my post to reflect that there was a Haste effect still active.

On an unrelated note...holy crap, no damage at all? I was expecting a DR 5 or something maybe, but DR 10? That's a tough beastie right there.

Retired - Adventure Path Complete!

Kinda why I'm power attacking...

Retired - Adventure Path Complete!

Anyway, for future reference, if we use abilities that grant other PCs attacks on our turn (namely, Sudden Block & Decisive Strike), should the PC who used the ability be the one to roll the attack?

Drezen Citadel Drezen Dungeon of Drezen

I wouldn't bother me if you did. You guys know I'm not shy about rolling for you though, I like it when the game moves along, waiting on someone for one roll seems wasteful to me.

But just so we are clear, you are saying that Victrix gives Decisive Strike to Konny and then you roll the attack on the combat post? I don't see a problem with that, as long as you make sure and use the proper bonuses and whatnot. I typically look at the last attack rolled by the player and use those bonuses.

Yeah, that's what I was referring to.

Retired - Adventure Path Complete!

By the way, GM, I looked over Belle's actions and she cast a slow spell from a scroll. Did the chimera have to save against it?

Drezen Citadel Drezen Dungeon of Drezen

Yeah, I'll roll the save on the recap. Belle also has to roll a CL check to beat the creature's SR. I'll roll that too if she doesn't get around to it.

Female Tiefling (Kellid/Pitborn) Sorcerer 8/Archmage/Heirophant T2 [ HP: 56/56 | AC: 11 T: 11 FF: 10 CMD: 11 | F: +3 R: +3 W: +5 | Init: +3 Perc: +1 | Effects: none

Gah! This thing has SR as well?!

I don't suppose it counts as a Demon, by any chance? It would be nice if I could add the bonus from her Campaign trait on Penetration.

Drezen Citadel Drezen Dungeon of Drezen

Not only did it have SR 21, it had an ability that let it roll twice for ANY will save and take the better result.

All that and you still landed the slow spell....it must've been fate.
