Catching a bullet as he tries to stand up once more, Jarreck looks towards his new assailant as he is once again called a name he doesn't recognize.

Frustration evident in his voice, Jarreck is having a bad time of it as first the undead on the otherside hit with 3 of 4 shots and this one connected once more with one of his two rounds.
"An undead gunslinger follows! Take your vendetta out against him!"

Niles, Jarreck planted the siccate knife in Nemgedder's back and left it there. It should do 1pt cold damage each round unless Jantz removes it or is immune to it. Jarreck's plan was to plant it somewhere difficult to remove.

Noting the demented Sheriff had turned his sights onto Jarreck, Seventeen decides its time for him to disappear... She walks over to Jarreck and then whispers, "Jarreck, I shall cloak you." She then utters syllabant words of power which distort the light around him, rendering him invisible! Seventeen casts Improved Invisibility on Jarreck. That'll give him 8 rounds of sneak attack fun.

Suspecting the imminent arrival of the big bad, Seventeen whistles and waits for the answering double pop of the Archons and they teleport closer. She then whispers words of power, "Accellerandum!" Suddenly Nemgedder's movements seem even slower! She casts haste on everyone! (well not Mort - sorry Mort) 2/6 level 3 spells used.

While she considers what to do with this information, the Archons decide it's time to attack! Working as a team one they swarm round Nemgedder and start hacking!

She's using 1 arcane reservoir point to boost the DC to DC 22.
She then backs away, and calls out, "We found your wayfinder, the one with the portrait of you and the guns.".

Sorry guys, I've missed more than I should. Like Guaire has indicated, things have been tiresome for me, partly due to my own doing (running a half marathon) and partly due to being sick slightly before and worse after. It left me with not a lot of energy to spare.
Mort scrambles towards the west-side of the wall and fires a shot of webbing at Nemgedder.
Ranged Touch, Web: 1d20 + 8 + 2 ⇒ (12) + 8 + 2 = 22 If it hits, Nemgedder is Entangled. He can use an Escape artist check or Stength check DC 18 to escape it. However he takes a -4 penalty on Strength checks to burst it himself. Escaping either way is a standard action.

Niles did we manage to walk past a bunch of back story here? I can't help wondering if there's a 'good' resolution to this where Seventeen pretends to Maura.
Seventeen cocked her head curiously as Nemgedder calls out in a different voice. He thought she was 'Maura' how very illogical. Clearly Nemgedder was extremely dangerous and the Marshall was similarly deranged too. Perhaps if Nemgedder was destroyed Benoche's spirit would pass on too.
Once again she points at Nemgedder and shouts "Decellerandum!" Once more thick bands of spacetime coalesce round him, threatening to slow him down. Casting Slow again, using 1 more arcane reservoir point to boost the DC to DC 22. 7/12 arcane reservoir & 3/6 level 3 spells used.

@Seven Yeah kinda. You were supposed to find the curious Wayfinder back in the first "dungeon" and then recognize that it belongs to "Maura". I bungled that really badly. One of the pitfalls of PbP I guess is that things happen so far in the *literal* past that you kinda forget what you did and didn't do. But yes, the person holding the Wayfinder can pretend to be Maura. Also...all those numbers make my head hurt.

"Most illogical. I have designation Seventeen not Maura." remarks Seventeen in her customary monotone. Organic creatures continued to puzzle her greatly.
She examines the weapons left by the Marshall and Nemgedder, "Guaire and Jarreck I believe you may find these of use, they appear to be very well constructed."
She then turns to the Archons and tells them, "Thank you for your service." They bow and vanish with a double POP.
Finally she examines Nemgedder's necklace, recognizing it as something high tech, she rifles through her bag and retrieves the wand she bought all those months ago from Trett and whispers the command word. Attuned to the technological she examines the necklace, trying to workout what it does.

"I am unhurt, several where shot by that Marshall however." relies Seventeen in a monotone before explaining to the party about the necklace, "Most peculiar. Nemgedder was using this for ornamentation, I doubt he knew what it was. It may look like a crystal, but it's actually a memory facet which is used when programming AIs. I believe this particular one is something called a compassion facet, a strange thing to program."

She produces a white hypogun and advances on him before injecting him!

The swamp vegetation here has been somehow drained of its color-what remains is a blasted, gray landscape of muddy water and brittle vegetation-yet now and then, a strange shimmer passes through the dry vegetation and silt... a shimmer of a color strangely difficult to classify. Five cave entrances beckon in the cliffside, the gritty, weirdly shimmering mud staining the tunnel floors as they wind underground.

On the way, Seventeen notices the peculiar shimmers and examines it with a battery of spell casting.

At the entrance to the caverns Seventeen repeats her bevvy of spell casting, it was prudent to be cautious around possible technological wrecks. So while Jarreck explored ahead, she cranked up the amplification on her sensors ready to spring into action if needs be.

Barring warnings from Seven's bevy of spell casting
Jarreck studies the entrances to the hillside ahead, the northern entrance being the most obvious and easiest entry.
"I'm going to check out the first part of that cave."
Jarreck studies the entrance and moves forward to the point where the cave turns back to the left.

There's no Radiation, Magic or Poison to detect...HOWEVER
To Seven it looks as if something has drained this part of the swamp of all color, the draining is worse the closer to the caves.

Abruptly she speaks to the others, "I have finished analyzing the available data, we are in serious danger. The leeching of color in this area is due to an Alien. A thing known as a Color out of Space, a huge amorphous incorporeal cloud, highly resistant to all but force and electrical magic. It's touch turns things to dust."
Yikes I'm not sure we're prepared for something like that.

"Hmph, that's interesting I guess" Jarreck comments to no one in particular studying the lights ahead, easing back along the pathway to the cavern entrance.
"There's something in there with lots of lights around the bend in the cave, didn't see the robojack though."

"Not entirely resistant Guaire. I would need to prepare different spells to fight such a thing, perhaps focusing on the electrical. I believe however Isuma would find it a most vexing foe. " replies Seventeen.
I still think we should go there, but we'll need to get everyone suitably buffed first which will probably burn through more resources than Seventeen has today. Mort how are you dong for spells?
