@Mort Alot happened in that round so I'll explain. You moved which provoked an AoO from the enemy with 10' natural reach. It hit, it has grab ability so that means it gets a free grapple. It succeeded in grappling you, which means that to cast the spell you needed a concentration check which you failed.
In the future, since using Chill Touch seems to be a favored tactic of yours. You might want to cast the spell one round ahead of using it in combat. So that you don't need to make Concentration checks when casting it.

I knew the risk of grappling, but that's why I cast my Chill Touch beforehand. If I can't hit him with it yet, I can hold the charge. In that case I would still have moved provoking the AoO and become grappled but not expended my spell-like ability yet.

Ok. But your post did not make it seem that way...you posted an Attack which means that you cast the spell as part of the attack action.
I do see now that you worded your post to include the casting beforehand...just remember you cannot cast, move and attack with the spell as part of one round's actions.
I'll say that the spell isn't fizzled and you can use it normally next round.

Aldonards Grave is an old half abandoned keep used by Crusaders heading north along the Seller into Mendev.
Scrapwall is a huge junkyard that is inhabited by wild street gangs and has almost no civilization.
There aren't any taverns...

Ok.
It has been 24 hours and there have been exactly 0 gameplay posts. I'll remind you guys of a few things.
1) The minimum acceptable posting rate is one post per day.
2) Everyone is responsible for moving the action forward. Not just Seven and Jarreck. I find everyone else usually waits for them, everyone is responsible for pushing the action along.
3) It upsets me if you are in several games and you post in those but not mine. I have endeavored to post 1/day and answer questions/move plot along through all sorts of life issues. I expect that you would do me, and the other players the courtesy of the same.
If for some reason you aren't happy with the game or cannot find the time to post, please PM me and we can can come to some resolution.

As for diplomacy, Jarreck is the most diplomatic.
I'll put this bluntly how we are in that field. :)

Seven (-1): Logic & business.
Omo (+0): Average social.
Aside from Jarreck, we're pretty much dependant on normal high rolls. :)

I had to go back and see what I listed, had originally thought about picking up 1 point of strength but that wouldn't have affected any of my previous rolls since then. Actually have hurt myself on charisma based rolls by one point since leveling up. Changes being made....

Hey guys,
I'm in a Way of the Wicked game and we need one or two more players. If you are interested in an evil campaign check out the recruitment
The game is moderately paced with regular updates from the GM (About 4-5 updates per week)
Right now we are in an extreme sandbox so most of the game is just us players posting actions.
Also, we aren't a very optimized crew and only spend about 1/3 of our time in combat, so a combat focused character isn't necessary and you might get bored and disinterested if that is all you build (the last two guys did that and hated the game.)

@Mort We need to sort out your actions because this has come up before.
In my evaluation of the rules, you cannot in one round (in this order) Cast a spell, move and then deliver the touch attack.
So, in this one instance I'll rule that you cast the spell in the Surprise Round and then in the First Round you moved up and delivered the attack.
Next time, I'll rule that you cast the spell while being threatened and you will suffer an AoO.

Actually Niles I mentioned Mort casting Chill Touch before we even entered combat, that way I held the charge and could deliver it later when we were in combat.
When Jarreck returns, Mort activates his spell-like ability and casts Chill Touch.
"How shall we proceed? Fast and loud? Or slow and silent? Regardless I think we will alert the others in the building whatever we do, unless one of us could put them to sleep or knock them out in one go we will have to fight to get them out of our way. So I'm voting for fast and loud, but minimize our sound output."Mort will aim to approach silently together with Jarreck to try and surprise the three guards.
We were expecting trouble and combat so that's why Mort had cast his spell in advance because I knew this thing could come up again.

I'm not sure how up to date the loot log is, but WBL suggests players have about 10,500 gp of stuff by level 5. This doesn't really affect Seventeen (sorcerers, wizards and arcanists don't really need much gear) but it does hurt Guaire and probably Omo.
