On masterwork weapons: I haven't managed to run a game yet but I've made MW weapons a straight +1 damage... Pluses to hit unbalance the game and its bounded accuracy principals - best reserved for magic - but damage is something that is low vs some pretty decent hitpoints (orcs for instance are a bugger to kill) so +1 to damage is something that is worth having but has minor impact to the game.

I do like how you have done it though.

Well, like I said, it was an idea I stole from Reddit. 5E seems to favor reroll mechanics.

Masterwork Light/Medium armor will allow you to have 1 more Dex bonus to your AC.

Masterwork Heavy armor lowers the STR score needed to wear it by 1.

I haven't decided on Masterwork Shields.....

@Niles so if you have the strength needed the MWK makes little difference with the heavy armor or becomes a saving grace when something saps you strength

Sorry was thinking outloud. For a PC who has the heavy armor proficiency already and the strength to wear it without penalty, having MWK armor would have little benefit to the player.
But then thought about it again while writing, and changed that the MWK becomes a saving grace; in that Morgran with MWK Chain for example could take 4 points of strength damage before being penalized for his armor choices.

Correct. I also toyed with the idea of some MWK armor removing the disadvantage for stealth....I might still use that.

I still might make MWK give different items different bonuses, like one MWK sword might reroll 1's for damage while another gives a +1 bonus to damage while yet another lets you reroll nat 1 rolls. However because of bounded accuracy they will never add to hit.

Same thing with armor, one might allow higher dex while a different one might remove disadvantage...

Shields vex me....can't add a +1 to AC because that's a magical shield at that point. Nothing else really to tinker with....

There was a gold plated censer, chalice and knife. They are worth 120,150 and 60GP respectively if you can find a buyer... lets see if the dwarves will buy later. Not counting it for now.

GM - how about the sale of the good made weapons we found - half price? 60gp the lot?

Also we have 3gp as part of kitty for small purchases.

So on that note, coin:

Everyone gets 80gp each after chipping in for healing supplies *will get us 4 healing kits*.

IF the dwarves buy our stuff?

Hobgoblin Weapon sales at 60gp = 12gp each.
With the sale of gold plated censer, chalice and knife. They are worth 330gp = 66gp each

So that will be an additional 78gp each.

Not sure what Gundred will pay by way of rescue reward BUT he owes us all at least 10gp each.

I may scrape in a splint armour purchase if I sell my Chainmail for 37.5gp

Thanks! Hopefully I've not been too much of a bully re: posting. I tend to get obsessive about things. (at least that is what my wife tells me)

Andrei, I believe there were a couple of javelins in the grouping of weapons the hobgoblin had, they have a tad more range than the handaxes and a pair of each gives Morgran plenty of room to buff others while avoiding direct damage to maintain bless pretty much, although Morgran's beginning to look a bit like Harsk. He's useless pretty much with the shortbow so you can add it to the items to sell. Just figure the javelins against Morgran's share please.

the splint mail would be about 8wks worth of smithing if I am adding correctly 200gp / 5gp(day) = 40 days smithing / 5 day weeks = 8 wks or 2 month. 5 1/2 weeks if working without break for 1 smith. Unsure if their is another smith in the group.

Morgran intends for the moment to create a battleaxe, which would be 2 days and 5gp.

So far the only things I thought of were relatively minor and a day or so at the most. Morgran is a smith so would prefer to create his own weapons as to buying them 'off the shelf' as it were. And when you said we'd be in town long enough to deal with down time pricing, why not create them, as a battleaxe is only a 2 day project. And Duncan's request part of another.
