Game Master CRobledo

From the depths of an untamed wilderness, bandits and monsters run rampant across the land. Do you have what it takes to conquer the lands and raise yourself up as King, Emperor and God?

OOC Thread. Please make an avatar for your character to make it easier for everyone to keep track of who is who. You should have 2 character traits, one from the Kingmaker campaign and one of your own choice. Max gold and hp at first level.

Hi, sent a similar PM, but just spotted my stats, I'll craft up the character in the next few hours and then get to posting.

Yay, it's starting!

Hm, so... Have our characters already met?
And if so, how long ago? (I mean... someone will have to give Dris a spare set of clothes etc... ^^)
Or, in other words, did we meet at one of the rally points and travel there together or is that place the rally point for people interested in forming a group to heed the call...?

I believe we have all received a summons to form an exploration party to the Stolen Lands (according to the Players guide). So my guess is we begin either right before or after meeting each other.

Edit: from the gameplay thread looks like we already started our exploration, so we have maybe only one journey of experience with each other?

Female Half-Elf Witch 4 — HP: 27/27

In addition to what I said above, this time with the right Alias: I've never liked dice-rolling ability score generation but OMG these stats are legen...there-is-no-word-to-describe-how-much-awesomely-brutal-they-really- are...dary and totally worth waiting for them a while.

Oh and btw, your d6 isn't loaded, it's overloaded - with epicness. ;)

M Human Paladin 3 | AC 18 T 13 FF 15 | HP 25/25 | F +8 R +8 W +7 | Init +4 | Perc +1

Next question is, Kaeso, what type of fighter are you hoping to play? Although from his background I'll assume mounted combat?

Male Halfling Rogue 4 HP : 34/34

Yes, those were definitely some epic die rolls. :) Time to start statting.

Third-ed :)

I have used these same d6 for the past 10 years for gaming. Every single character ever rolled up has used the same 4d6 and every score has been over 12. Every. Single. Time.

And no, they aren't loaded. I got them from a pincole set I think, 2 decks of cards and 5d6. Something along those lines. They aren't loaded, just legendary.

PS: Yes you've met before this time but you've only been an adventuring party for a week or so. Three groups were chosen to deal with the stolen lands and then they had this group of individuals (you) that they slapped together and said "Go get'em tiger."

Yes, mounted combat, although I need to train up my horse, at the DM's discretion. I took Handle Animal, and need to spend some time training Trigger (haven't figured out the horse's ame yet) before I can charge into battle with him.

Oher than that, sword and board, although in ths case it's warhammer and board.

Okay, by the time this is spotted the stats should be attached :)

Roger. I guess it's you and I giving our rogue some flanking!

I'm stat-ed up as well

Regarding the horse (that you get via trait):

Can't we just spend the cost difference from light to war-trained-light horse to get it combat-ready?

Male Human Fighter 3

It's up to Skull. I think the rules say I need three weeks of Handle Animal training, which I'll start as soon as we have a chance.

Male Halfling Rogue 4 HP : 34/34

Where's the girls? :)

Female Half-Elf Witch 4 — HP: 27/27

Well, I'm having problems to decide... With these stats, I have soooo many possibilites. I'm trying to get it done ASAP, though.

As for the warhorse I'm going from his background which is farm hand. A farm boy who brought his favorite horse. While bad tempered with everyone but Kaseo, the horse was not trained to be a war horse. It has the potential yes but it needs the training. And from personal experience it takes a couple of years to train a horse with all those abilities.

M Human Paladin 3 | AC 18 T 13 FF 15 | HP 25/25 | F +8 R +8 W +7 | Init +4 | Perc +1

Also, I believe the charter in the campaign info tab is what we received before we began the trek down into the stolen lands, right? If so, then I see we were meant to stop by the trading post first, AND we are asked directly to deal with bandits when encountered.

You have personal experience training warhorses? Neat.

I was going off page 98 of the core rule book, but I'll role-play whichever way you want. I just probably wouldn't have bought the lance yet.

Well, he might let you retconn that :D

Training horses in general. Stallions are much more difficult to deal with then geldings.

I thought I'd seen something about this online - per James Jacobs "The trait grants the "generic" horse from the Bestiary. No templates or advancements. Basically a light riding horse.

If a character has a good enough Handle Animal skill check, I'd say that it'd be fine for him to train the animal but he should pay the difference for doing so to keep things fair."

I've already covered with Kaseo how to turn his heavy riding horse into a heavy warhorse. He's not getting it free. Or right away.

Male Human Fighter 3

It's fine. It will make that first glorious charge that much more glorious, when it happens.

Chalk it up to the naivete of the character. Some unscrupulous weapons merchant said "Sure, buy a militry saddle and a lance, and you're good to go!"

We'll get you trained, Joss old boy.

Male Half-elf Ranger/ 1

I went O.O at my stats, until I saw everyone else's. It'll be interesting to play the "lower stated" person (ie lowest 15, highest 17)

That's Dris' ressort - unfortunately, Prestidigitation isn't on the witch's spell list. :-/

But Mornaura will happily give fashion advice if she's asked for, now that she has arrived in the gameplay thread.

Back to finishing last details of the build... Like deciding wether the "dump stat" with a score of 15 will be str or cha... probably the latter, matches her background/description better... Still debating two or three patrons... And wether to keep Half-Elf Skill Focus on something to possibly take Eldritch Heritage later on, or +2 will save instead... Sooooo many possibilities.

@Norn-- I've decided you will wear the lavender faerie fire today. Enjoy!

So, we're already past the "Hi, my name is..." part of the adventure?

We worked it into the gameplay thread :D free to join still

I normally reread my posts to avoid clunkers like this but "a young darkly robed young man" managed to slip past me on my first post :P

They must be rentals.

Yup, I lack a steed too, walking across the river lands is the lot of a priest :)

Female Half-Elf Witch 4 — HP: 27/27

Why exactly does Elven have to look like Greek? ^^

Pretty sure that's Tolkien Elven, not sure which dialect :P

Guess it looks like Greek because he was inspired by the characters, though to me it also looks a little Norse.

Female Half-Elf Witch 4 — HP: 27/27

It's totally Greek... google for the single words. ;)

Sindarin and Quenya would be the Tolkien Elven dialects I know of, but they look different.
Nordic runes (at least any I know of) look different, too. (I'm from a country that has a history of misusing some of those runes, you know...)

And yeah, I guess it's just "write something that looks foreign but uses characters the board software / any default writing program can display"... Ah, anyway.

I hope Kaeso is really content with being exploited as a stable guy in exchange for being allowed to look at elven-blooded girls... He'll probably have to get used to it anyway. :P

Mornaura wrote:

It doesn't. That's just what my text editor is set up to display.

As for exploitation, that's a two way street :).

Just got back from the dentist, in a bit of pain so I'm not sure if I'll be posting much today or just sleeping it off.

*hands Andrezi a potion of Cure Light Wounds labeled "Get Well Soon!"* ;)

Yes, feel better soon. For a day or so its safe to take 4 advil every 2 hours, then taper off as you feel better. Also arnica pellets-- homeopathic-- helps with the swelling and aids healing.

You just HAD to take that literally, Kaeso, heh? ^^

Male Human Fighter 3

Mornaura, I'm not really sure where the character's going to go, personality-wise. It seems like Kaeso really liked his first taste of fighting, and wants to get back to it, and so tried to get all the questions he could think of out of the way. I wonder where he will end up as the campaign progresses.

Fantastic character potential. Keep it up, everyone.

I hope he doesn't become too eager to get in a fight and ends up finding himself in one too big to handle... :/

At least we probably got enough people capable of healing (including Mornaura), and I'll surely grab some nice buff spells to help out our tanks later.
And if that isn't enough, we'll put him on a leash. ;)

Yay!

Oh, btw... regarding the short description of our campaign... DIPS on God - Godess to be exact, but DIPS on both anyway. :P

Re: now-corrected mispost in gameplay thread:
Grr. Why exactly did I setup Mornaura as my default Alias (did it right after my first post, which I had misposted, but noticed and corrected) when the board suddenly decides to post unter my account name anyway?

It made the remark about the "next meal" a bit scarier, though. ;)

Just a question directed at the GM for curiosity sake, what do imagine the Riverlands to be like weather wise? I've always thought it something like southern Russia and I realised this is colouring my description of clothing/actions hence the stamping of the feet and the like. Just wanted to know what you think of the land since southern Russia and say Ireland are fairly different and would colour my descriptions differently.

The southern riverlands (south of Pitax) are very much like Michigan, United States. Michigan has lakes, ponds, rivers and creeks running over every inch of the state. This causes spring to be a massive explosion of plants and the forests are very thick with underbrush. The northern part of the Riverlands are of a dual nature. In the open savannah they are much like Scotland, highlands and lowlands. Rolling hills that lead to large mountains in the east and lochs and rivers are sparse except around the one, central lake in the Gnarlmarches. The forest to the south west of you is bordered on one side by two connected lakes and on the other side by a large swamp, the Slough. The large volumes of water coupled with numerous fae that live in the forest make it unusually vibrant this far north. Remember, you are only 300-400 miles south of the arctic circle. Winter is HARSH. The rostlanders in your group should be used to winters were you measure snow in meters, not inches. Issia, the nothern part of Rostland, is literally in perpetual winter.
