If you sell all the swords and the spell book, everyone can add 74 gold to their wealth. Uriah and Tierney should have added 114 to their starting gold after this and the rest should have 184 gold added to their starting gold.
There were four CLW potions and four Injectables (Repair Warforged) to distribute as well.
GM Mason |
Oh... and congratulations on finishing the Introduction to the Campaign! Everyone can level up!!!! 1/2 +1 HP. I know you are a little behind on wealth. That will be taken care of soon enough. I also owe Tierney and Uriah their signature items. That too will be taken care of soon!
Uriah Lewis |
Uriah Lewis level up results
HP Gain 6+1+1HP +8HP total 19/19 HP
BAB+1
Skills +5 skill points
Profession: Sailor
Perception
Acrobatics
Kn:Local
Intimidate
Saves
+1 Reflex
Abilities
Charmed Life (Ex): At 2nd level, the swashbuckler gains
a knack for getting out of trouble. Three times per day, as
an immediate action before attempting a saving throw,
she can add her Charisma bonus to the result of the save.
She must choose to do this before the roll is made, and
may only apply one use of charmed life on a given save.
GM, the way I'll use this ability is to just use it on the first three saves I need to make per day.....so +3 to saves 3/day

1st: Grease, Comprehend Language, Mage Armor, Burning Hands
2nd: Detect Thoughts, Hideous Laughter, Minor Image
Yes 1d4
Tierney Quade |
Spellcraft roll to learn Burning Hands
1d20 + 8 ⇒ (9) + 8 = 17
Who hoo!
Tierney added to his Knowledge (Arcana), Stealth, Escape Artist, Acrobatics, and Spellcraft skills.
He now has access to spellstrike.
If successful, this melee attack deals its normal damage as well as the effects of the spell. If the magus makes this attack in concert with spell combat, this melee attack takes all the penalties accrued by spell combat melee attacks. This attack uses the weapon’s critical range (20, 19–20, or 18–20 and modified by the keen weapon property or similar effects), but the spell effect only deals ×2 damage on a successful critical hit, while the weapon damage uses its own critical modifier. See FAQ/Errata at right for more information.
His AC increases by 1 as a function of his kensai class. (+1 per point of intelligence bonus, per level)

Much better, thank you.
Yay!!! Love creepy tumor familiar!
GM Mason |
That is the creepiest avatar on this site. Years ago I found a dead tick stuck in my chest. That picture reminds me of it.
Haha!
Jarot Tennet |
Added: Poison use, with swift poison. Poison Resistance +2, Tumor Familiar, another shield spell per day. Added points to Craft Alchemy, Disable Device, Knowledge Nature, UMD. Added new skills: Appraise, Craft Armor, and 2 into perception.
Alertness and +4 initiative from the Familiar.

Feel free to finish your leveling, post purchases, and RP amongst yourselves. You guys are traveling through town. If you have any in character questions for each other, now would be a great time.
GM Mason |
Crazy day at work and I wanted you all to have time to level and purchase items. Crafting is fine. Please list equipment purchased and gold spent here. You can round to the nearest gold on silver.
I'll post the intro to Chapter One tonight or early tomorrow. Thanks for making this game so much fun!

1 person marked this as a favorite. |
Maybe when he figures out he isn't human. Or after a few more augmentations. Having a warforged cortex jammed in his brain seems like a good idea right?
For purchases:
MW Thieves tools 100-15 for old tools: 85 gold
Crafting 2 Alchemist Fire 20 gold
Crafting Blue Winnis poision 60 gold
165 gold spent total Leaving me with a whopping 21 gold.

Haha. Now that you say that, my avatar looks almost exactly like your current guy without hair and with creepier skin!

I second Mason's statement that your RP was interesting and very creepy, I might add. Had I been in Tierney's shoes, I would have beat a hasty retreat before you even got to the part about the examinations.
Well done!
GM Mason |
Did we gain Hero points from leveling?
Yes. Two points added. Everyone should be at three (it is the maximum you can have at one time). The exception would be if any of you decided to write a journal entry to describe your travels in your character's perspective. You get one additional heropoint (3/1). Remember, you can cheat death with two points!

I'm not sure if someone expected to be the "face" of the group. If so, I apologize. I simply didn't want anyone to feel forced into it. My thoughts were:
Tierney - socially awkward
Servitor - more blunt than diplomatic
Jarot - creepy mad scientist
Uriah - if there isn't a skirt to chase, meh
Ghost - doesn't talk much
If I am misperceiving or if someone just wants the role, please tell me. I want to support everyone's ability to play their concept.

Uriah Lewis |
Uriah has the charisma to become a decent "face" but If your asking about the diplomacy skill specifically then no, I have taken no ranks in it.

I am not asking about the mechanical skill as much as character concept. If you see him as taking that role onto himself, I don't want to get in the way of that.
GM Mason |
I see Uriah and Adir both as face characters. Adir is more of the diplomatic (caring/loyal) character where as Uriah is more of the scoundrel (cocky/flirtatious)character. Which is more beneficial for a specific situation would vary. Any character can be somewhat effective if they are creative with role playing, though use of the diplomacy or intimidate skill will provide more benefits ;)!

Uriah would turn a lot of people off with his arrogance, but that is what I love about him!

+1 to what the GM said.

Agreed, just trying to get a sense of what people want.

I think you are doing a great job of leading. Your evaluation above is spot on. The others are definitely not effective socialites. They add a lot of color with their responses, but every group needs someone to drive the conversations.

Servitor's Chest is like the middle compartment of a Handy Haversack, except an item can not be retrieved as a move action. It takes a full round action to open the compartment and withdraw an item. It has a -20 to perception checks to notice the door unless the person is an artificer. Here are the specs:
It holds 8 cubic feet or 80 pounds of material. When the wearer reaches into it for a specific item, that item is always on top. Thus, no digging around and fumbling is ever necessary to find what it contains. Retrieving any specific item from the compartment is a full round action due to needing to open the compartment beforehand.
"A warforged camouflaged compartment is a magically created compartment designed to appear exactly like the surrounding body part. This compartment creates an extra-dimensional space within the body of the warforged, where the warforged can store items. Camouflaged compartments were designed originally for the smuggling of contraband inside warforged slaves or to aid in the concealment of dangerous weapons. These compartments are traditionally found hidden in a warforged's chest, torso, or upper leg. The opening face is no more than six inches across."

I don't wanna throw a wrench in the GM's plans, which is why Uriah is gonna find the schema anyways. But I'm just fleshing out Uriah a bit, I figure he IS a member of a Dragonmarked house but doesn't want to be, so something happened in the past to make him distrust the Houses and want to go out on his own.
GM Mason |
That is the glory of this game. You can do anything or go anywhere. Evil? Good? It doesn't matter. Split up? No railroading. I love APs, but I want something different. A campaign where the player is free to be himself. Where decisions have rewards and consequences. I love you being true to Uriah. You guys have free passage on an airship for a year. You can go absolutely anywhere (the gold may just dry up if you turn down work O_o).

Heh, can't let one of humanities worst psychological defense mechanisms get ignored entirely.:)
If you get bored at home some time do a youtube search for Elves Vs Dwarves.
It is a hilarious "discussion" of the differences between dwarves and elves by people playing Tordek and Miali.
Some choice lines:
"Dwarves are fine, as long as they stay underground... on their reservations."
"Elves also cause cancer. My grandmother died of elven cancer!"
Not really safe for work, or children.
