Giri beckons the group towards the north once they find out the teleporter won't work for them at the moment. "Oi. It looks like guest rooms to the south. Let's try the north." he says as him and Virgil step up to the pair of doors.

The Tien man counts down from three on his fingers and then opens the doors simultaneously with Virgil.

Grand Lodge

Tiles of ice cover the floor in this recessed alcove, beneath a large window overlooking the tower’s northern exposure. Here lies another ice crystal teleporter, which you remember the passphrase for. “Take wing, soar and fly, let me see the winter sky.” Additionally, it looks like the crystal key you found earlier would fit here.

"We have a way up, at least." Zadok muses. "Let's make sure this area is secure and then head up right away."

There's another room to the west so let's double-check that and make sure the stuff to the south is secured too before we head up. Otherwise Zadok is ready to move on.

Grand Lodge

There are actually four rooms you haven't explored on this level. NW, NE, SW, SE. NW (Q9 on the map) it is, then!

Several cabinets line the narrow walls of this oddly angular room. A chopping block, water barrel, and cauldron stand near the room’s only door. The tantalizing smells of fresh baked bread and meaty stew fill the air.

Perception DC 15:
You hear a faint noise coming from one of the cupboards. Someone appears to be hiding there - a very small creature, by the look of that piece of furniture.

Trying to slowly approach, Giri clods along the icy floor and yanks open the cupboard door, revealing whatever creature is inside.

Grand Lodge

Inside the cupboard is hidden a creature you recognize as a Spriggan. A minor fey, and strangely enough not one affected by the endless winter. It reels as much as it can, bumping into pans and dishes with a loud clang. "Hey hey hey! Whaddawehavehere? Guests! A bed, desk, dresser, and storage chest furnish this small bedroom. A large mirror hangs on the wall opposite the room’s only door, and two windows look down on the tower’s courtyard. The normal key collected on the very unusual "librarian"'s body opens the chest without further ado, revealing its contents. It contains an elixir of truth, three potions of feather fall, a pair of silver bracers traced with figures of dragons worth 250 gp, a jeweled scepter worth 175 gp, an agate worth 50 gp, and three blue quartz crystals worth 100 gp each, as well as 256 gp, 473 sp, and 894 cp.

Whereas the southwestern room is empty and has nothing to show for, the southeastern room opens into a currenlty occupied small guest room. The scent of perfume fills the air of this small bedroom where several dresses styled for a Taldan noblewoman lie neatly arranged on the bed. A mirrored vanity and chair sit by the door next to a wooden chest, and a larger mirror hangs on the wall between two windows. Surprise and doubt surge in your mind as you behold the room's "guest", who is none other than Lady Argentea Malassene! In other words, the Taldan noblewoman you initially set out to rescue, but whom you've already rescued from the bandits in Taldor, near the portal! Strange sighting indeed.

She appears as surprised as you are. "Who- who are you? Have you come to rescue me at last?" she cries out.

Virgil listens intently for any signing of deception.

Giri of the Chenlun Mountains wrote:

"Absolutely not. But we are in a hurry and I felt that testing fate by leaving it be was worth the risk."

"Indeed," Zadok nods along with Virgil. "You can not be who you appear to be. She is safe back in Taldor."

Grand Lodge

"What? You would dare doubt Lady Argentea Malassene's word? How impudent." She aims a slap at Zadok's cheek. You can easily dodge it if you want, it's just for RP purposes.

"I am the real Lady Argentea Malassene, and I think you were deceived earlier! There was this shapeshifting creature here a few days ago, who asked me many questions about me, my station and the customs of Taldor... I believe it has impersonated me!"

Thorgull:
She's lying, that is obvious enough! Your companions' eyes must be enraptured by her beauty or something, but she sounds just as someone who is impersonating Lady Malassene.

She turns to Giri, who seemed more favorably inclined towards her. "Yes, let's exit this dreadful place. All these fey screams and debased giggles have made me crazy. Shall you lead the way, Sir Knight?"

Giri looks oddly at the woman. "I think you misunderstand. I have come to kill the owner of this infernal tower after extracting information from them about the eternal winter." he says plainly.

"Whether you live or die is of no consequence to me, but I see no harm in letting you find your own way home." he says with an honest smile. "You can take the teleporters down and trek through the snow back to Taldor if you wish. Or you can go wherever you please." he adds thinking that she is under no obligation to return. Virgil holds his rapier out at Thorgulls words, but alittle uneasy with threatening a noble woman, should her story be true.

"Are you certain Thorgull?"

Turning his attention back to the woman, Virgil decides to test her knowledge.

"If you are who you claim to be, then tell us of your family. Any woman of station knows her lineage well, and you should easily recount yours?"

Lady Malassene's eyes narrow, and she hisses as she sees she's in an impass. "Cursssse you. You will all die here, but not from the frossssst!" Her face then melts to become that of a grayish humanoid creature, almost unfinished, with a narrow head, gaunt limbs, and a sinister, noseless face. A doppelganger!

Oh well -_-

Thorgull can't finish his spell before Virgil and Giri take the creature down.

Ready to go as well.

“Take wing, soar and fly, let me see the winter sky.” The passphrase is uttered, and you find the scenery dissolving once more, revealing another room. A triangle of crossed steel wires runs between three wooden posts in this crescent-shaped room that smells strongly from the bird droppings scattered across the floor. Along the south wall, open windows look down from a dizzying height, admitting a brisk, cold wind. Two doors exit this chamber, one next to a large mirror to the west and another standing between a pair of wooden chests to the northeast.

A sylph (see handouts) stands near the edge of the platform, looking at you with a suprised expression. She immediately whistles to call forth her raven allies.

Init:
Initiative (Giri): 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (7) + 1 = 8
Initiative (Thorgull): 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (6) + 8 = 14

Initiative (Zadok): 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (12) + 2 = 14
Initiative (J): 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (9) + 2 = 11
Initiative (RS): 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (20) + 2 = 22

The ravens congregate in a swarming mass and swoop over you all.
Automatic damage: 1d6 ⇒ 2
Everyone please make a DC 14 Reflex save. If you fail, the ravens will gouge your eyes and blind you until you're healed. You'll also need to make a DC 14 Fort save against distraction - if you fail that one you're nauseated for 1 round.

The Aerie - round 1
1. Raven swarm
2. Thorgull (2), Zadok (2)
3. Sylph
4. Giri (2), Virgil (2)

Nauseated and blinded, Thorgull flees and tries his best to get out the swarm, trying to touch the wall with his hands.

Zadok moves off to the side, flailing his arms about to keep the birds away from his head.

Just a move from me :(

Thorgull, don't you want to spend a mythic surge to get +1d6 to your Ref save? Just saying, since being blinded won't help you in the fights to come... Feel free to post your surge into your next post if you wish to do so.

The sylph retrieves, then drinks a potion. Her feet start slowly to leave the ground...

The Aerie - round 1
1. Raven swarm
2. Thorgull (2), Zadok (2)
3. Sylph
4. Giri (2), Virgil (2)

Oh! I completely forgot about that option. I'll try that. Thanks for allowing it!

Mythic surge on fist save vs blindness: 1d6 ⇒ 2

Thanks to mythic power of the Rider, Thorgull escapes the blindness but still vomits on the ground.

Happy to help! ;)
You'll need to adjust your remaining Mythic power total, though.

As the ravens peck out Giri's eyes, the man stoically steps out of the flock and hears Zadok and Thorgull flee from the birds. He waits for a moment as he calls out. "Did you get out, Virgil?" he asks, unable to see or hear the stoically silent man.

Shrugging, he calls forth the magma of the volcano and blasts the ravens, despite his blindness.

Burning Hands+Mythic Power: 5d4 ⇒ (4, 2, 2, 1, 2) = 11 DC 14 Reflex to halve.

Can someone post an action for Virgil, please?
