Male Human Inquisitor (2)

Roman wipes a trickle of sweat from his forehead, when he sees Jo get up. I would not be able to forgive myself if I led the lovable brute to his death... Praise Milani that he can still avenge those who wronged him.

Dark Archive

Amidst the roots of the plants, you find the remains of creatures ranging from birds to humanoids. Searching through a couple of old purses, you find a total of 35 gold pieces and a large gemstone with a deep indigo color, about the size of your fist. You also find a backpack stuffed with a tailored vest of red silk, stitched with golden thread. It is plain, but obviously of good quality. Last, you find a strange, large black feather that is incredibly smooth.

When Moondark checks the doors, she does not see a lock or trap. It appears they lead outside as she can see dim daylight through cracks where the once fine doors have warped over the years of neglect. It is also now clear that a second set of doors stand at the other end of the room. I3-4

I turn to Emmett holding the red vest, "Ya like's fancy clothes right? Want some more's?"

Lastly I pick up the Gem, "Can I carry's this?"

It is because of the special additive that all clerics of Cayden Cailean put in their healing potions ;-)

Oh man, you do not want to see a drunk Jo.

Moondark does not see or hear anything at the doors, including traps. They appear to be open and are also warped, though not as bad as the exterior doors. From what you can tell, it is very dark behind the doors. Almost certainly an interior hallway.

Byron pockets the gold, and accepts the feather with a shrug.

I will take it for the moment, but I expect that we will sell it...

Xianae opens the left door. It sticks a bit, but then opens without too much pressure, though it protests with a loud creaking sound. Ahead of you is a stone wall, the opposite side of a hallway that stretches left and right. 15-feet to your left, it ends in a dead end. To your right, it's stretches as far as the limit of Xianae's darkvision. Empty sconces are bolted to the wall, every ten feet. To the right, you can see two more corridors that must lead to the front of the mo or house. The first is only ten feet away, the second Xianae can barely make out, 60-feet away. A pair of double-doors stand on either side of the hall, 30-feet away. The floor is stone and strewn with debris, mostly dirt, branches and other vegetation, but here and there you spot bits of what may have once been furniture.

Once she gets to the point where she can see toward the front of the house, she can see that corridor goes 45 feet before dead ending and has a pair of double doors on each wall. This hall was once carpeted, but what remains is filthy and torn.

I'm going to assume everyone keeps following Xianae in the dark, single-file.

You can see a small amount of light coming through cracks in the doors and push them open very quietly without difficulty. Inside, you see a fairly large room that once was a beautiful library. The high windows on the wall you face are still intact and have beautiful designs with red and blue birds perched on vines with golden flowers. To your left is a closed wooden door. Three rows of empty bookshelves stand to your right where once three large windows looked out on the front of the manor, their glass broken out ages ago. The floor of the room is littered with dirt, vegetation and bones of animals and humanoids.

Xianae moves into the room and looks around, with Jo stepping up to the doorway. Suddenly, two huge, long-legged spiders drop to the ground snapping at her. They are glossy black and as they drop to the ground, you catch sight of a crimson hourglass on their bellies. The first slips in past her breastplate and delivers a painful bite to her side, venom searing in the wound. Fortunately, the other one gets a leg caught in its webbing as it drops and its bite harmlessly deflects off the armor. Her yelp of pain alerts the rest of you to the danger.

Dark Archive

Winging it here, but I think your only options to do something like that would be to move her to A1 or A3 and I would rule that either will provoke an Attack of Opportunity (on you, not her).

Ok winging it here as well, just trying to get her out of danger and open spots for the other frontliners. So he couldn't get to B1 and pull her down to D1 leaving Coran at D0. Moving her is what he is doing whether which way is he goes is up to you and what makes sense.

Coran needs to get Xianae out of harms way he isn't sure whether the spider will attack her again and finish her off or try to take down another member of their ragtag group. Coran without thinking runs forward to grab Xianae moving her out of striking distance of the spider.

I think A1 is a better bet. You're going to provoke in my opinion no matter what since the spider also has reach. A1 avoids having to drag her through all of the other teammates, gets you both to safe ground, and keeps you both out of the way.

As Coran darts in to grab Xianae, the spider snaps at him with its mandibles. This time the spider's mandibles sink deep into the halfling and he feels the bite of the venom as well. But, he rips away from its grasp and drags Xianae out of harm's way.
