She strikes it again, but the horse remains standing, now bleeding from two wounds.

Amaya lashes out again with her dagger.

Clearly nervous about being in a fight, she doesn't even come close to the horse.

Rizzardo shoots at it with the crossbow.

The bolt strikes the horse right in the eye, falling to the ground with a violent crash.

The Hellknight riding the horse attempts to leap free.

Sure enough, Emmett's hex causes him to fail and he fails, going down in a heap with the horse.

Next to him, the other Hellknight turns to face Jo, thrusting his sword at Jo's chest.

But, Jo blocks the blow with Rosebud.

While the dying Hellknight next to Janiven attempts to stabilize.

and he continues to bleed out.

At the bridge, the Hellknight facing Xianae and Egder takes a cut at Egder's head.

He misses, but the other Hellknight tries to take advantage of Egder ducking under the sword.

Egder's move leaves him wide open to a slash that slices open his arm.

Finally, at the carriage, the driver gives up on the crossbow with Moondark now up top. He draws his sword and slashes at her.

Damage 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3
Screaming, "I got you rebel!" as his sword cuts across her leg.

And the last Hellknight on the carriage, takes advantage of the chaos on the top of the wagon to slice at Moondark again.

He yells, "We've got this one, keep after her!" as he slashes across her other leg.

The Badger:

And The Badger continues trying to get his horse under control.

Succeeding, he turns the mount back toward the bridge.

Starting to feel woozy from loss of blood, Moondark grits her teeth and plunges her dagger into the overconfident Hellknight's chest, pressing past his armor, but not quite bringing him down.

Moondark artfully drops off the wagon leaving the Hellknights looking wildly around for her.

Over by the rest of the Children of Westcrown, Jo swings another huge blow with Rosebud, dropping another Hellknight twitching and screaming to the earth before he falls unconscious.

Egder braces himself and takes another swing at the Hellknight next to him and Xianae. Desperation starting to sink in, he gives up trying to knock out the Hellknights and attacks savagely.

But Egder's inexperience...or bad luck continue and he still fails to strike another blow.

Coran's bolt strikes true, flashing over the horses and burying itself in the driver's shoulder. He shrieks in pain, swinging his attention from Moondark back to the bridge.

A question: as Cackle is a move action, can I use my standard one to target a new victim with Misfortune, thus making it two targets (thanks to Cackle), etc.? That was my intent last round, to add the one in M11 to the one that manned the big crossbow. Badger moved out of range, so he's out. Let me know.

Xianae's axe cuts deeply into the Hellknight's leg, but he stays on his feet.

You can maintain on M11 and add the driver, but it has dropped on the guy with the Large crossbow because Cackle only extends it 1 round.

Janiven attacks the Hellknight under the horse with the flat of her sword.
Attack 1d20 + 4 + 4 - 4 ⇒ (5) + 4 + 4 - 4 = 9
But misses again.

Amaya tries bonking him on the head with the pommel of her dagger.

Rizzardo drops his crossbow and advances to attempt striking the Hellknight with his sword.

But Rizzardo's glancing blow rings off the Hellknight's armor.

Two Hellknights attack Egder again.

The driver reloads his crossbow and fires back at Coran.

But Emmett's hex causes the crossbow to kick and the bolt flies over Coran's head.

The other Hellknight begins reloading the Large crossbow and swings it back toward the fighting by the Children of Westcrown.

The Hellknight pinned under his horse attempts to escape.

Xianae casts her spell, preparing for another attack.

Egder swings his falchion again

Clearly shaken by the length of the battle, Egder misses again.

Emmett continues to laugh at the Hellknights.

Coran's crossbow bolt flies across the battle and strikes the Hellknight driver again.

Janiven attacks the Hellknight under the horse again.

She curses as her blade misses him again.

Amaya tries to knock him out with her dagger.

Fortunately, under the effects of Emmett's hex, he fires wide.

The Hellknight at the Large crossbow trains it on Jo, after seeing the havok he has been wreaking on the battlefield.

A second bolt flies into the trees, leaves flying everywhere.

The Badger rides back onto the bridge, but Emmett's spell takes effect just as he closes in on Xianae.

He stands in the saddle, just as the spell strikes, dodging the slick coat of grease Emmett lays down on the saddle and he continues to strike against Xianae with his morningstar spinning at her upper body.

Fortunately, his move to dodge Emmett's spells seems to have unbalanced him and the blow misses.

Moondark's bolt strikes one of the horses. The horse rears and then begins moving forward, right toward the fallen Egder and Hellknight and the still standing Xianae, Coran and Badger.

He keeps the eerie laugh going, concentrating on maintaining the hex, while he moves his hand in arcane gesture to add the hellknight near Xianae.

Description
This spell causes a metal object to instantly become red hot.
A creature holding the item may attempt a Reflex save to drop
it and take no damage (even if it is not their turn), otherwise
the hot metal deals 1d4 points of fire damage per caster level

With the incredible success of the Children of Westcrown, Rizzardo decides to take a shot at the Hellknight that just downed Egder.

Jo swings Rosebud and the lock on the prison carriage breaks apart just as it is beginning to pick up speed. A handsome half-elf man with brown hair and amber eyes jumps out holding a dagger, "Whoever you are, thank you. We need to get out of here."

The Badger's head spins toward Emmett from the bridge.

With that, The Badger has his horse take a short step back from Xianae and then spins it toward Citadel Rivad. The horsed Hellknight on the other side of the bridge pulls his fellow up with him and they take off after Badger as the wagon picks up speed and runs over the bodies at the bridge.

Moondark, you still have time to run and get onto the wagon, but I suspect you just want to stay behind.

The Children of Westcrown erupt in cheers as the prison wagon pulls away. You check on Egder, but unfortunately the combination of the Hellknights blows and the wagon running over him has killed the half-orc. Four Hellknights are nearly dead in various locations across the battlefield.

Xianae - no, with the withdraw, you don't get an AoO and the horse has a speed of 50ft. versus your range of 30ft. Besides, you don't really want him changing his mind. Don't worry, you'll be meeting again ;-)

You regroup with the Children and everyone shares horses. You face the sobering thought that were it not for Egder's sacrifice, you would have faced the unlikely prospect of tripling up on one of the horses.

Janiven looks thrilled to have Arael back in the fold, although the half-elf is fairly quiet, undoubtedly shaken by his narrow escape. Janiven joins in Emmett's enthusiasm, "Yes, together we have struck a blow for a better Westcrown. We're going to have to be careful in coming days though. The Hellknights will be furious over this embarrassment."

You ride hard for Westcrown, not wanting to face the prospects of a larger force of Hellknights. As the city's walls appear on the horizon, you realize by the angle of the sun that this has taken a little longer than you hoped. More than two and a half hours have passed and it is getting close to three. You are not at risk of evening, but Jacovo is probably not going to be happy.

Feel free to retcon any conversations or actions you want to take before arriving back in the city. Once you're done, we'll pick it up as you near the gates.

When Jo announces his intent to coup de grace any Hellknights, Janiven and Arael both yell, "NO!" at once. Janiven explains, "Jo, I know they killed Egder, but if Hellknights die, they will stop at nothing to find us. As it is, this will be an embarrassment, but we should try to ensure they survive."

Janiven replies, "Certainly, Coran is right. It is especially good for us to humiliate the more extreme elements like the Badger.

Arael draws himself up and replies, "Yes, the Order of the Rack is an old and prideful order. They could be turned to a useful purpose though. At their heart, the Hellknights are about order, not evil. But, they've been influenced by darker elements from time to time. The Badger is one of the worst. This is the perfect way to deal with him. Seizing me and stealing their equipment will embarrass him. That will help calmer elements like Master of Blades Kassir Voidai and Paralictor Gonville Chard. They might even manage to relieve him of his duty to train this group of recruits. Better to have the Badger alone trying to hunt us down than the whole order."

You work together to stabilize the Hellknights. Searching their unconscious bodies you find 5 suits of the armiger Hellknight armor, one suit of full plate, 6 longswords, 6 light crossbows, 70 gold pieces and 3 potions. Under the driver's seat, you find a large woolen sack with a very nice longsword, a light crossbow, a dagger, a breastplate, and two potions. Arael identifies the gear as his. You also find a small mail satchel with several letters.

Knowledge(Local) DC 15:

Both the armiger armor and the full plate bear the distinctive exposed musculature design of the Order of the Rack. You would have to be very careful wearing or selling the armor.

He looks disapponitedly at Janiven and then Coran. He begins to rifle through the fallens belongings looking for anything of value. He will also take their weapons and shields and pile them together.

While he is doing that he asks Coran, "What you mean Karen? Like pee on dare faces or sumtin?"

We should not leave Edger behind. Jo will carry his body back if need be.

She doesn't move to help the Hellknights and wouldn't even if she knew how, but she doesn't block the effort either. Once Arael's gear is restored to him, she gets her dagger back.
