Sorry for the extended absence folks. Pitches are done. PaizoCon is done. So, I just have regular work and some projects for Open Design to work on. I'm home for a week and then on vacation for a week, but I should have internet all of that week, so I should be able to get some regular posting up between now and GenCon. I'll give you advance warning that I will plan to take the Wednesday to Sunday of GenCon off and a reminder when we get closer.

Happy one year anniversary everyone! Jo, Moondark, and Coran have made it the whole time (in spite of my own trials and tribulations and a brief sabbatical for Moondark). The rest of you have been in for quite solid stretches too so congrats on sticking it out. Looking forward to wrapping up our explorations of Whitechin's demesne and seeing what is going on back in Westcrown proper :)

I have been thinking about my next level up and have a question regarding a trait. There is a trait that allows to to pick a class and your effective level of that class will increase by 2, as long as it doesn't make that class higher than your total Hit Dice.

So my question is :

Could I take level 3 as fighter and use the fighter feat to gain Additional Traits, select the trait and choose Sorceror? If so, would this make it so I am counted as a level 3 Sorceror for feats and the like?

You can't use a fighter feat to get additional traits because Additional Traits would not be considered a Combat feat.

Ah right, thanks. Well at level 3 you get 1 feat anyway. So my normal feat could be Additional Traits and the fighter feat Arcane Armour Training, which is a combat feat.

Would this work or would I have to actually be a level 3 sorceror before I can get it?

Xianae, just give me a reminder of which specific trait it is and I'll look into it. It sounds familiar, but I haven't had someone play with it yet.

Xianae, I've done some research into the trait and I believe the benefit you get is that your spells would act as if you were a third level sorcerer for purposes of level-dependent effects. It would not grant you access to additional spells or higher level spells, nor would it grant you earlier access to bloodlines powers. I believe it would qualify you for feats since in most cases those are based on caster level which is what the trait affects.

Thanks for the heads-up. I just wrapped up the battle since I think everyone was waiting for me or someone else. Now clear and time to decide next steps.

BTW, the main issue with Roman's movement is the squeezed space which requires extra squares of movement. His use of Liberation fixes that.

K folks, sorry for the disappearance and that rather nasty turn of events. November turned out to be a rather nasty month for me.

I know this has been a spotty game and if some of you or all of you would rather retire, that is fine.

If you are interested in continuing, I will do my best to communicate better, but I will warn you that there will be some slow periods due to real life for me.

As far as the current situation goes, I did not really think you guys would rush in, but I can also see where it makes sense given Jo's character. I do not intend to TPK you, but you should probably think carefully about how to proceed. You might be able to pull this off, especially with Emmett's hex affecting Whitechin, but there are other options.
