Well, I appreciate it, but I think my inconsistency has already caused some friction, and I don't want to cause any more. (My availability isn't going to get any better for a while.)
I appreciate the opportunity to play, and hope the game picks up in speed.

Hey Levi don't know if you saw in my previous post but I was wondering if there is a certain pathfinder conversion of changeling you used in this game or which one you prefered Ive seen several around
Use whatever one you deem appropriate. I'm sure you have common sense enough to choose one that works well. I'll look through my files and make sure I don't have one hidden somewhere, but really it shouldn't make a difference! :)

monkey is right that im aiming for alchemist
4d6 drop the lowest right?
4d6 ⇒ (1, 6, 3, 5) = 15
4d6 ⇒ (3, 1, 6, 4) = 14
4d6 ⇒ (6, 4, 2, 4) = 16
4d6 ⇒ (4, 5, 2, 4) = 15
4d6 ⇒ (6, 5, 2, 1) = 14
4d6 ⇒ (5, 3, 2, 2) = 12
and then hit points for 2nd 3rd and 4th level
3d8 ⇒ (5, 7, 1) = 13
starting gp is 6k for me to equip with right?
and a question
for my formula list ill get 2+int mod 1st level and 2 more 1st level and 1 2nd.
They can be learned in various ways, but are we assuming that ill have not learned any in addition when starting?

What is typical 4th level gold would be appropriate. You can have bonus formula, as your intelligence rewards. I hope I'm understanding that last part.

Vorik Kessler |
Sorry I haven't gotten a chance to post this sooner, crazy week and I've got a bunch of other games that keep distracting me, including two I'm GMing for.
Anyways, what I think we should do is either head into Thrane, despite how some of might feel about that country, as it would provide good RP situations. Or make our way to the city Vorik is from, grab his sister, pick up the new PCs and then try to figure out how to deal with the two kings.
Beyond that, depending on which we choose, I can help generate more ideas for stuff to do.

I want in!
Just noticed yesterday that this game has openings available, so thought I'd toss my hat in. This would be my first PbP, so hopefully my lack of a resume won't stand against me, and I can make up for it with my more obsessive qualities. I have a massive love of Eberron, and have never gotten to play in a campaign set there, plus I don't have any real life games going on at the moment, so I definitely have the free time.
I'll lay my character concept out in broad strokes here, and roll him up & polish his background if he seems acceptable. If not, no sweat, I can come up with something else. Ideally this character would be a bard with the detective AT; probably multiclassed with a level or so of fighter.
[added later] Okay, upon completion that's probably less 'broad strokes' and more 'mostly finished bio', but hey, no biggie. I do realize that it lacks Last War/Karrnathi elements, but those could feasibly be added in as needed; depending on where things go next in the game, his background could be changed from Sharn to Karrlakton or Flamehold, or else he could be in either of those cities on a job of some kind. Alternately, since he also comes preloaded with some House Lyrandar connections, he could be connected to Ria (and her unfortunate airship) in some way and be introduced via her. Or I could scrap it altogether and come up with something else, but this particular character kinda excites me. :-)
Distan's childhood was the stuff of dreams. Born the son of two fully dragonmarked members of House Lyrandar, he was raised in luxury and comfort, with what seemed to be a gilded future ahead of him. He dreamed of the day his own mark would manifest, dreams that were encouraged by his Windwright father; some of Distan's fondest childhood memories were of journeying on his father's airship. His mother, a prominent Raincaller, seemed less than enthusiastic whenever he enthused about his idealized future, but Distan simply assumed that it was because he favored his father's guild over hers. He took her assurances that there was plenty of opportunity in House Lyrandar for him even if he never manifested a dragonmark well salted; after all, with both of his parents bearing a mark, the odds were in his favor.
The truth of the matter dawned on Distan's thirteenth birthday, when the pallid green lines of an aberrant dragonmark appeared on his upper back. His mother's talk of not bearing a mark was wishful thinking on her part; hoping against hope that her oldest son's skin would never bear witness to her own infidelity. Distan's true father was of House Medani, his birth the result of some youthful indiscretions in the earliest years of his mother's marriage. The secret had been long kept, but the truth was now evident for all to see in the tangled lines of Distan's dragonmark, the result of crossbred bloodlines.
Everything changed after that. His family, for one, fell apart. The man he'd always thought of as his father suddenly regarded Distan as a mark of shame; the once warm and supportive treatment he'd received vanished overnight. His father's journeys to other ports became more and more frequent, the time he spent at home became less and less. Eventually, he simply never came home again, a wagonload of porters to pack and transport his belongings showing up on the doorstep at the same time as a gnome bearing divorce paperwork.
His mother, for her part, kept her position in the House, but her oldest son became a social albatross around her neck, one she could barely stand to look upon. It also became clear that any future prospects Distan had within House Lyrandar were no more; even a minor role as a deckhand or in administration was closed to a family member with an impure stain upon his skin. When he was old enough to live on his own, Distan was unceremoniously given a small stipend and told to find his own lodgings.
He did so, modest apartments in the mid-levels of Sharn, but didn't stay there too long. Bored, despondent, with no real training in non-house skills, Distan began squandering what money he had on decadent pleasures. He spent his days and nights in Lower Menthis, sampling the pleasures of theater and red light districts alike. When not in an inn or festhall, he could be found with increasing frequency in dreamlily dens. Ultimately, he became addicted to the opiate, neglecting any maintenance of his life in lieu of the hours he could spend in filthy curtained alcoves, dreaming of the life he could have had. Eventually, he lost his lodgings and was cut off from his family funds, seen as proof of the corruption inherent in the aberrant marked.
To keep his habit funded, Distan wound up finding himself with the one group that saw value in his dragonmark: House Tarkanan. Even there, he was seen as a weak willed addict unfit for anything more than the simplest of thug work; mostly enforcer-oriented, with occasional burglaries and muggings. He was never able to lose the vague sense of guilt that grew from this work, but whenever it grew too intense there was a flask of dreamlily to wash it away. Ultimately, Distan would likely have wound up dead within a few years, if it weren't for some truly poor decision making that somehow improved his lot.
To supplement his income, Distan became an informant for a private inquisitive. For a price, he'd answer questions on House Tarkanan activites that might overlap with his contact's investigations. In time, he'd likely have met the fate of any snitch and gotten his throat slit, but somehow Distan and the inquisitive formed a bond. The investigator saw past Distan's desperate junkie exterior and recognized a bright young man drowning in the filth of lower Sharn. Distan, for his part, found himself interested in the older man's line of work, ultimately helping in some investigations with more than information. In the end, and with a lot of help from his friend, Distan made the difficult choice to dry out, go sober, and reclaim his life. He became an apprentice inquisitive, and eventually a partner, using his contacts both in the upper and criminal classes to give him an excellent information network. In his mind, he's simply doing what he can to keep his wallet full; what he wouldn't admit, even to himself, is that he's still plagued by guilt from his time as a criminal and that his new career is a way of helping those in need.

Nifty! Okay, here's my stat rolls.
Distan Lyrandar (Unsure of his surname yet; I know he wouldn't be allowed to use the d' without a true dragonmark, not sure if he'd be permitted or even want to keep the family name otherwise, though.)
Half-Elf Bard (Detective) 2/ Fighter (Unarmed Fighter) 2
4d6 ⇒ (5, 3, 4, 5) = 17 = 14
4d6 ⇒ (4, 3, 4, 2) = 13 = 11
4d6 ⇒ (2, 3, 6, 6) = 17 = 15
4d6 ⇒ (6, 4, 2, 4) = 16 = 14
4d6 ⇒ (3, 4, 6, 6) = 19 = 16
4d6 ⇒ (4, 3, 2, 4) = 13 = 11
10 + 1d10 + 1d8 + 1d8 ⇒ 10 + (5) + (6) + (7) = 28
and with that taken care of, I'll fill out the rest of his stuff and create an profile for him in the next day or so.
ETA: Just realized I should probably ask before going non-core. Levi, I assume the APG archetype is okay, since I already mentioned it in my previous post, but is Ultimate Combat acceptable? In addition to the unarmed fighter AT (with the snake combat style), I'm thinking of using the whip mastery feat chain. Let me know if any of that's verbotten.

Definitely okay! Would it be possible for both of Monkey's friends to roll-up within the coming days as well?

I am playing a 4th level human monk of House Orien, although I have yet to name him(her?)
I also have a question for you Levi. Do the feats in the Dimension Agility feat tree apply to the Dimension Leap spell from Eberron?

I just moved all my belongings to Milwaukee today, and only have the core Rulebook at my home in Black River, so I can't say for sure, as I don't have the exact rules in front of me to make the decision, but for now I will say yes unless I examine it in a few weeks and find it to be too unbalancing. :)

Ok, Maven should have his character ready shortly. I haven't heard from Antix in awhile, will try to call him tomorrow while at work.
Do we want to continue in game, and perhaps have some sort of encounter(dangerous or otherwise) or something in the meantime??
As soon as I know the status of everyone I'll throw up an encounter! :)

Hey Levi,
I've made a few adjustments to my character.
I'm now a 4th level fighter from House Orien, preparing to advance in Blade of Orien. I'm in the process of setting up a profile for the game so you'll be able to see and read all the fancy stuff about my character.
Is there a a limit on what we can buy? I was gonna buy 2 magic weapons, but EMG wasn't sure if there was a cap.

Levis,
talked to Antix, he's finally feeling better, but has been incredibly swamped with RL. He's just starting up his own business selling tea, and had a ton of work to do in order to be able sell via Amazon.
Anyways, he's goin to some con this w/e where he hopes he can get his character finished off.
