Candrana advances on the kobolds position and attempts to skewer one, but the little trap-dragon dodges her blow. The kobolds drop their slings and draw their spears as they swarm over Candrana.

Red vs Candrana: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (11) + 1 = 12

The first attack is parried by Candrana and she counters catching the kobold in the torso.

Green vs Candi: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (19) + 1 = 20
Damage: 1d6 - 1 ⇒ (3) - 1 = 2

Purple vs Candi: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4

While she does her best to block and dodge the remaining blows, two of the kobolds manage to stick her with their spears.

Mean while the kobold facing off with Davros takes at shot at the scribe.

The kobold's attack fails to harm Davros and the scribes readied attack also fails to harm the kobold

Round 2, Init 10

Zilch looks over the swarming foes, trying to remember what he knows of them.

"Look out, Candi! Did you not see them?!" Zilch says, trying to protect the elvette 'warrior' from the small humanoids.

He stabs his longspear at Dark Reddy, the dark red one.

1d20 + 4 ⇒ (20) + 4 = 24 to hit;
1d8 + 4 ⇒ (6) + 4 = 10 damage.

OOH...good time to be hot, it's right in Candi's face...potential crit:

1d20 + 4 ⇒ (10) + 4 = 14 to hit;
2d8 + 8 ⇒ (8, 2) + 8 = 18 more damage.

Zilchus takes out another kobold with his spear as he rushes to Candrana's aid.

Assuming there is space between Zilchus and the wall. If not, he'll step on the other side of Zilch and take a -4 penalty for cover.

Aodan steps forward and pulls his bowstring back, releasing another bolt of energy that explodes in an acidic burst at the target in front of him Red kobold, or if he's down, then purple kobold.

Candrana dances back with a flourish, then stabs at the burgandy kobold.

Going to change Candrana's action to stabbing purple then dances back as the brown kobold is very much dead.

The kobold manages to duck Aodan's acid, but that leaves him open for Candrana's raiper. It hisses in anger at elf and moves forward with his friends to get his revenge.

Candrana parries the first attack and tries to counter but is unable to get through the kobold's armor. One of the kobolds is able to find a weak point in Candrana's armor and she feel the bite of another kobold spear.

Darvos also finds himself under attack by a kobold as it tries to skewer him with it's spear.

It's attempt at only hits the boulder next to Davros.

"Look out, Candi!" Zilch says still trying to keep Candi from being killed by a 1000 small cuts.

He drops his longspear, draws his morningstar, and two-hand swings at Pinky, the most fabulous kobold of all.

1d20 + 4 ⇒ (13) + 4 = 17 to hit;
1d8 + 4 ⇒ (6) + 4 = 10 damage.

"I got another one...just keep them all busy while I take them out. Darkrose! Be sure to count good all the ones I'm killing!"

Round 3

Davros swings his weak Taldan straight blade, wishing it was a scimitar, at the cowardly Kobold.

Attack: 1d20 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (7) + 1 + 1 = 9
Damage: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 1 = 6

"Yes, yes, you got another one. Good job." says the annoyed Qadiran.

Zilchus does in fact get another one as the koblod collapse after being struck by Zilchus' morningstar. Davros continues exchanging missing blows with his kobold.

The half-elf pulls back on his string and aims again, letting loose with a twitch of his fingers, a tug of his grip, and a quick chant. "Το μπουλόνι καίει."

Round 4

Candrana backs up, then jumps, trying to climb the boulders.

acrobatics: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (12) + 7 = 19

climb: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (14) + 3 = 17

if she still has a standard, she'll attack the one in yellow

attack: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (8) + 5 = 131d6 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3

Candrana jumps up and grabs the top of the boulder and pulls herself up. This does open her up from attack from the kobolds as she drags herself on top of the boulder.

AoO red: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2

AoO green: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (18) + 1 = 19
Damage: 1d6 - 1 ⇒ (1) - 1 = 0 1 non lethal

One of the spears catches her in the side, but her armor saves her from most of the damage. From on top of the rock she stabs down at at them and narrowly misses.

The kobolds split their attacks this round. One goes after the real threat posed by Zilchus.

Green: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (11) + 1 = 12

He misses.

Another attempts to get to Candrana on top of the boulder.

Red: 1d20 + 1 - 1 ⇒ (12) + 1 - 1 = 12

He has trouble as Candrana is on higher ground. She attempts to parry and counter but has a bit of trouble from the top of the boulder.

The last kobold attempts to get Davros and is clearly frustrated with his lack of progress so far.

Yellow: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (14) + 1 = 15
damage: 1d6 - 1 ⇒ (6) - 1 = 5

He yips with excitement as he is able to succeed this time.

Round 4, Init 10

Zilch reaches down to pick up his longspear, dropping his morningstar.

"Look out, Candi! Try to avoid their blades!" Zilch says, watching the elvette seems to find a way to attract their attacks.

He stabs his longspear at Greeny, probably the horniest red kobold.

1d20 + 4 ⇒ (13) + 4 = 17 to hit;
1d8 + 4 ⇒ (7) + 4 = 11 damage.

I'm retiring Zilch after this fight. It's all downhill after this. It will *never* get better.

Zilch looks to see if Davros is watching Zilch fight.

"Hey Darkrose, when you write my story, what name are you thinking about giving to me?" Zilch asks after murdering another kobold. "Zilch the Kobold Killer? Scalebane?"

Zilch looks surprised at himself, his eyes going wide.

"OOOH...that's a good one, huh, Darkrose? Scalebane! I like that! But you can use it in your scribings if you'd like."

"I...am...thinking...about calling you...Zilchus the Serenity Slayer. Or Zilchus the Eunuch if you do not stop talking so much."

Davros takes aim at the same kobold and attempts to strike again.

Attack: 1d20 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 1 + 1 = 7
Damage: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2

"OOOH...that's a good one, huh, Darkrose? Scalebane!"

"I think he means Scalebrain."

Hearing what Davros has to add - "Slaves. Eunuchs. East is kinda different?" Perhaps we should send Zilch home with you. It would be a service to the Empire. "Maybe not so bad after all." If their country is filled scalebrains, perhaps slave chains and eunuch snips aren't so evil after all.

With Candi out of the way, Aodan pulls a real arrow, forgoes his arcane chant, and fires at one of the scaly buggers (who is not Zilch).

Arrow from Longbow: 1d20 + 4 + 1 ⇒ (13) + 4 + 1 = 181d8 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 1 = 7

As the arrow strikes true where the acid had missed wide, he mutters. "So much for dusty book readin'."

Aodan's arrow takes out one of the kobolds, leaving less for Zilchus.

Round 5

Candrana steps across to the other boulder and attacks the red kobold.

sigh

Candrana steps to the other boulder and inflicts a second wound on the kobold which proves to much for the small creature. It collapses in a pool of it's own blood.

The remaining kobold presses his attack hoping for another success against this troublesome soft skin.

He fails to strike the scribe and yips in frustration.

Zilch jabs at the last kobold, trying to jab around Davros..

"Good job, Aodan. Now you're fighting like ol' Scalebane!" Zilch says.

He stabs his longspear at Yellowy, the scaredyest one.

1d20 + 4 - 4 ⇒ (4) + 4 - 4 = 4 to hit; (-4 cover)
1d8 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 4 = 6 damage.

Zilch will pick up his morningstar.

"I...am...thinking...about calling you...Zilchus the Serenity Slayer. Or Zilchus the Eunuch if you do not stop talking so much."

Zilch thinks on Davros' words.

"I dunno...I kinda think Scalebane is better. Zilch Scalebane. Yeah, that's the ticket. I don't I think I find Serenity...and doubt the kobolds find much serenity after my spear finds them," Zilch muses.

"But maybe Zilch the Unique. That's pretty good because I'm pretty unique."

"Scalebrain. Eunnuch. I'm sure we could make either happen."

Seeing the scaly ones drop, Aodan surges forward, peering in the next break in the rocks. He readies to fire at any kobolds that try to slip past him. Either yellow trying to retreat or any new ones headed to reinforce him.

Readied LongBow Attack: 1d20 + 4 + 1 ⇒ (15) + 4 + 1 = 201d8 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2

Davros, clearly annoyed at himself, tries to clear his mind and focus solely on the task at hand. He strikes at the yellow kobold with a Qadiran curse.

"تموت، و أنت أقل تكريم الكلب ."

Damage: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 1 = 7

Aodan readies an arrow to fire at anything that moves. Davros cures and misses at the same kobold he has been struggling with.

Candrana hops back over 5 feet towards the yellow kobold, hoping to put an end to all this.

Candrana moves over and stabs the little kobold. It hiss at her clearly angry, but it continues it's attack on Davros.

damage: 1d6 - 1 ⇒ (5) - 1 = 4

It grins at it is able to stick it's spear into the Quadrian's soft hide.

Zilch follows Aodan into the entrance, stowing his morningstar as he moves.

When he gets closer, he jabs wildly at Yellowy, the last kobold standing.

1d20 + 4 - 4 ⇒ (2) + 4 - 4 = 2 to hit; (cover)
1d8 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 4 = 7 more damage.

"Good idea to move this way, Aodan. Let me know if you see any more kobolds for me to kill. Brave Scalebane is right behind you."

Round 6

"Dogs have more honor, but that don't mean I want to kill... oh, you mean the kobold."

Aodan tries to work into the kobolds' fortified ambush position. Assuming he can fit through or climb over the opening, he'll clamber into the kobold pit and then fire at the yellow bugger.

Arcane Fail: 1d100 ⇒ 44 Low is bad

"Scalebrain, tunnel back here. Into the hill. Why doncha ko boldy."

"OUCH! Aodan, no everything I say is about you. Zilchus, for the sake of the Gods and all of creation...please.shut.up."

With that Davros swings again at the remaining kobold.

Attack: 1d20 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 1 + 1 = 8
Damage: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2

"Stupid shortsword, piece of...wish I never..quit trying to make...ARGH!"

He then drops his shortsword is frustration, steps back and witdraws his wand from his pack.

Aodan's acid is enough to finish the last kobold.

End of combat.

Zilch looks around, counting the dead koboldery.

"Ayep. I count me six of them. Not really enough for a 'horde', but maybe you'll embellish that up a bit in your history, Darkrose?" Zilch says, wiping the blood off his spear and morningstar.

"So..." Zilch looks down the tunnel, then remembers the kobold bodies and goes back to loot them. "Aodan, stand guard here for a second, I think this body over here has some coin on him."

When he finishes looting, he looks at the party, wondering if they are ready to move on.

"I don't suppose any of them have a decent dagger or some such on them, by any chance?" Candrana says, as she helps with the looting. "I really liked those silver ones we had; but we needed the money."

The party only manages to find 6 spears, 6 slings and 6 sets of leather armor. All sized small.

"Tunnel. Probably more." Despite the epithets being bandied about, the little scaly ones have a reputation for being deviously dangerous. We should not treat them lightly.

Aodan takes a few steps forward, peering down the passage, keeping a wary eye out for danger.

Perception: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (13) + 6 = 19

The dark tunnel leads deep into the side of the quarry. Aodan can make out some of the passage way as it is still dimly light from the entrance. He is fairly confident that the passage is clear and it is safe to proceed..

When you do head in there are two things to take note of. You'll need a light source and the tunnels are built for kobolds so they are only 5 feet high. This will give all medium creatures a -2 on their attack rolls.

If no one else has a light source, Candrana will pull a torch and light it. She crouches as she moves through the tunnels, peering into the dim light thrown by the torch. low light vision, for what it's worth.

As the party makes it's way into the kobold lair the tunnel turns north then branches off to the east and west. Looking down the east passage there looks to be a well.

Zilch casts light on the end of his longspear, using the light to take note of Candi's wounds that she still hasn't mentioned to anyone yet.

I wonder if she hasn't found them yet. Should I point them out to her so she can get them healed?

sigh Finally, unable to handle the pain anymore, Candrana breaks down to ask, "could someone possibly make that stick we bought for healing actually work? I've never been very good with those things. " She watches, as yet another drop of blood drizzles down her knee.

As Zilch presses his stick onto Candrana's tender flesh, the half-elf will probe ahead with his own arched bow. Aodan will tap each step with his longbow and before slowly working his way up the stairs.

"Little 'bolds are tricky."

Heladel always said not to underestimate the little scaly dragonnettes. That wizened Nirmanthi scout was particularly troubled about their use of nets. I hope they don't have nets.

Checking ahead Aodan finds no apparent danger. It looks like there are two passages leading further north and to the west from this well room.

Zilch suddenly finds himself sticking Candi with his stick.

"Blessed are the Scales," Zilch intones, activating the Abadarian wand, unleashing the magic upon Candi's kobold-rent body.

1d8 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2 healing (1/50 used)

Zilch shakes the wand and tries again, momentarily worried they bought a bad wand.

"Blessed are the Scales," Zilch intones.

1d8 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 1 = 7 healing (2/50 used)

"You feel better now, Candi? Ready to taste the steel and rocks from more kobolds?" Zilch says cheerfully, hoping the Elf is okay.

At the intersection, Zilch reviews the options.

"Why don't you lead, Candi. Aodan and Darkrose will follow. And I'll bring up the rear, handling any ambushes that come our way?"

Zilch follows Aodan, and thinks they should take the north route.

North all, feel free to move Zilchus up as necessary.

Aodan will advance, scanning around and generally heading north.

Candrana rolls her shoulders as the healing washes over her. "I... I do. Thanks, Zilch." Her head quirks to one side. Perhaps he isn't always so useless.

Candrana moves into the lead, keeping a keen eye out for danger.

Carefully moving forward the group follows the north passage. Following the steps the tunnel leads up and to the east. A few torches wedged into niches in this cave’s rocky walls burn fitfully. This area is obviously used for labor-intensive tasks such as making rope from vines, drying meat, and tanning hides, but the working conditions are squalid at best.

Four kobolds stand guard over three human slaves. The slaves appear to be a man, a woman and a young girl. One of the kobolds watching the entrance calls out as the group appears in the entrance.

Candrana goes first.

Candrana, sword in one hand and kobold spear in the other. She steps forward and confronts the closest kobold, "It's over, wormsnout!"

Don't forget the -2 on attacks from the low ceiling.

Candrana steps forward and stabs at the kobold guard with her sword and spear. The kobold can do nothing but close his eyes at the up coming attack. He looks down and is surprised to see himself and harmed. He jabs his spear back at Candrana as the other kobolds rush forward stabbing at the elf with their spears.

Damage: 1d6 - 1 ⇒ (2) - 1 = 1 1 non lethal

Candrana gets caught by two kobold spears but the wounds are barely noticeable.

"You could no tap me with that before? I am relatively sure that I, eh, left my spleen back there in the entrance." He sighs audibly and begins the arcane incantation. "المشي النار معي"

Davros activates his Wand of Infernal Healing. 1 charge remaining.
