Korog and Reg both land blows against the small metal beast but it seems to have some resistance to their damage. As Korog is with in rage it attempts to sink it's metallic fangs into his leg.

Knowledge check to know more about the beast and its DR?
Knowledge (arcana/dungeoneering/local/nature/planes/religion): 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (4) + 5 = 9.
Not that Reg knows anything, but maybe someone else might. Also, Genkuro probably bashes it in anyway!
Korog |
fort save: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 4 = 7
"Good pretty human!" Korog bellows excitedly as the metal monster is flung away, inanimate.
After a moment, the adrenaline rush ends... "Korog bad."
Reginald Hightower |
Reginald admires his companion's handiwork. "Well struck, Genkuro!"
He then checks out the frozen bodies again, seeing if there's any hope for saving them or if they're very much dead.
Korog |
Korog will wait for aid before making the check to gain any modifiers, but to save time...
Korog makes a 2nd fort save: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (14) + 3 = 17
Woo!
DM: Feel free to roll saves for Korog when it applies. His stats are in his min-bar to make it easier for you to keep the game moving instead of relying on me to check the game. (Not that I don't, but on the off-chance I don't get to it between posting and the next day...)
Reginald Hightower |
Reg examines the bite mark. "The wound is shallow, but there seems to be some sort of poison. Any of you have expertise in these matters?"
My way of saying, Reg has no Heal skill.
Orphiel |
"Unfortunately, I have no expertise in the art of healing. I do believe I have something that can counteract the effects of the poison, once it's run its course. Let us start with this."
Orphiel removes from his sleeve a somewhat silly-looking helix-shaped wand, and carefully pronounces the activation word while passing it over Korog's wound.
Cure Light Wounds: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5
Reginald Hightower |
"Let's try out this next door when we're ready" suggests Reg.

Korog |
"Rune. Meaning." Korog asks the party, unsure of how to read it.
He then follow Genkuro, ready to face the next monstrosity this museum may throw at him and his allies.
GM Kyshkumen |
A few desks, three locked chests, and a locked standing cabinet are here along a wall facing the West Exhibit Hall made of smoky glass. Fading in and out of vision, the shadowy form of a slablike table holding an unconscious, vivisected human man, his chest rising slowly with each breath, is superimposed over the southernmost desk. Medical implements and alchemical devices are spread across nearly every surface, some more substantial in form then others.
Reginald Hightower |
"That man - we must help him!" Reginald enters the room and looks for whoever might be cutting him open. If the coast is clear, he will pull out a wand and try healing the man.
CLW: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (7) + 1 = 8
GM Kyshkumen |
Reginald moves into the room to provided some healing to the half dissected man. Genkuro follows while pushing some of her magical essence into her blade, looking around she see's no one else in the room to which her command could be given. Korog also scans the room and only finds this poor victim. As Reginald's healing takes effect, the man's eyes flutter open. He looks over at Reginald and manages the words, "still here", before a fire explosion rocks the party.

The attacker is 10 feet of the ground clinging to the ceiling. Reg is up.
GM Kyshkumen |
Reginald sweeps the creature's legs out from under it, but it manages to hang on with it's hands (gave it a bonus vs trip for extra limbs since what she is doing requires all four limbs). She responds by hoping down and attacking Reg with her claws and teeth.

Free action to drop, acrobatics to ignore the 10 ft drop, full action to attack. Bold is up.
Edit: Dropping to the floor as a free action usually does not provoke an AoO. However moving the distance of 10 feet through threaten squares does, so Reg it's an AoO.
Korog |
Reflex: 1d20 + 0 ⇒ (9) + 0 = 9 Fail, Korog takes 4
Korog shoves his way around the furniture in his path, coming up against the bomber.
"Ceiling woman. Boom!" he alerts the party.
Korog power attacks: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (7) + 6 = 13
Reginald Hightower |
Ouch! Reginald takes a swipe at the woman as she drops! Attack: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (20) + 5 = 25; Damage: 1d8 + 4 ⇒ (5) + 4 = 9.
But as the woman gets inside his defenses, he is overwhelmed! At -10!

Orphiel draws his Lungchuan Tamo from his sleeve as he steps toward the vile creature. He separates the two throwing knives, and hurls one toward the bomber.
Thrown Dagger: 1d20 + 5 - 4 ⇒ (6) + 5 - 4 = 7
Reginald Hightower |
Stabilize check: 1d20 + 1 - 10 ⇒ (2) + 1 - 10 = -7. Reginald appears to be at death's door. At -11 at the beginning of next round. Could use a hand or he probably dies the round after.
GM Kyshkumen |
Reginald managed to catch the shadowy woman with his guisarme on her way down but he definitely to worse then he gave. Korog, Genkuro and Orphiel all rush forward but their swings are either blocked or dodged by the woman. She unleashes another flurry of teeth and claws.

Sorry everyone my dice are out for blood right now. You have two party members that are in serious need of healing or may die. Bold is up
Korog |
Korog falls to the ground in a slump.
Stabilize: 1d20 + 4 - 1 ⇒ (11) + 4 - 1 = 14
-10
edit note: some checking around reveals con damage does not, in fact, mean his con-death score changes. He still has three rounds... but it's still bad. -10/13
Orphiel |
"Nooo!" orphiel shouts as he sees his companions drop.
He hurls himself at the alchemist, (stepping over or on the fallen oracle as necessary) and begins pummeling the monster with his bare fists.
"I Call upon the might of Torag's Hammer to smite thee!"

As soon as he is sure that the enemy is down, Orphiel turns to Genkuro.
"Help Korog." he orders, then pulls out a wand and goes to work on Reginald.

Sorry, that was a lot of charges... Bad dice rolls.
Korog recovered 29 HP bringing him back to 20 total.
In case you want that last point back, assume I used the wand one more time since it would a minimum of 2, but I won't spend the charge now just in case.
Handing back the wand, Genkuro uses her own magic to mend her wounds (last spell slot of the day).
Cure Light Wounds: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4
-----
Once the party seems back on their collective feet, she heads over to examine the fallen foe...
Orphiel |
Orphiel gently but repeatedly slaps a hand against Reginald's cheek until the oracle gives some sign that he's conscious.
"How you doin', buddy? I thought we might have lost you for a second there."
Korog |
Thanks. We'll go ahead and use that extra charge for 8 charges.
Korog rises to his feet, leaning against his hammer like a walking stick. "Shadow woman hurt." he mutters. "Thanks. Keep magic stick. Use more." he bows to Genkuro slightly.
Genkuro Yokai |
Genkuro carefully loads Korog's wand into her spring-loaded wrist sheath in case it is needed later.
Looking over the woman's slumped body, Genkuro fights to urge to finish her off. Heal: 1d20 + 0 ⇒ (9) + 0 = 9
Unsure whether the woman is dead or merely dying, Genkuro turns to the more divinely inspired in the party and asks, Should we tie her up and revive her? She might have useful information.
Reginald Hightower |
Nice! Thanks to Genkuro for saving me, and to Orphiel for perhaps saving all of us.
Reg gasps, then opens his eyes, seeing Orphiel hovering over him. "Woah, what happened there. I thought I had her when I went for her legs, but she just dropped down on purpose and tore me apart! Glad you guys took care of it, though." He rubs his cheek, still tender from Orphiel's slapping, then pushes himself up and picks up his wand, applying its magics to fully restore himself. CLW: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 1 = 6.
He then looks to the vivisected man he had tried to help earlier, to see how he was doing. "Are you okay? Can you speak?" Reg will do what he can to help him, whether that's giving more healing or some water.
GM Kyshkumen |
"I don't feel so good, and everything hurts," the partially dissected man groans. his chest cavity is flayed open and some of his organs are sitting on the operating table next to him.
He is currently staggered and has the sickened condition. You can try and put him back together with a heal check to removed the sickened condition.
Korog |
Korog watches the healers with interest.
"Korog break. No fix. Healer men-women skill. Good. Fix broke men." he states to anyone who will listen, recognizing his inability to help.
Genkuro Yokai |
Genkuro kneels down and attempts to get to work with her limited skill.
Heal: 1d20 + 0 ⇒ (13) + 0 = 13
I could still use your help, Korog, even if you don't have a knack for the healing arts. Same with everyone else. Maybe with enough assists, we could beat the DC? Also, if any of the divine folks can cast guidance, that would be helpful :)
Korog |
Unsure of himself, Korog sets his hammer aside to help the Bard at her direction.
Korog Assisting Heal: 1d20 + 0 ⇒ (16) + 0 = 16
"Inside building. Inside man. Ribs." he observes.
