Welcome to the OOC thread for the First Steps series I'm running for Pathfinder Society Organized Play. Everyone please check in with a post to introduce yourselves if you like, or give the virtual thumbs up that you've got this.
Some of you have played by post before, some of you haven't. For simplicity's sake, here is how I'm going to manage this game:
1. I would like people to roleplay situations, but if you're in a crunch for time and can only throw out some dice, that's ok.
2. To speed the game along, I'll make many reactive dice rolls: Perception checks, Initiative rolls, Saving Throws, certain skills (such as Spellcraft for identifying spells) and certain combat checks (Like attacks of opportunity). You can always request to roll these in active situations, such as searching a room, or in the case I forget to do so. If one of my rolls is calculated incorrectly, let me know and I'll adjust.
3. You don't need to wait your turn to post for combat, but put contingency actions in if you think the situation will change by the time your turn is up. Example: You want to Rapid Shot an enemy, but there is a chance that by your turn no targets will be available. You can put if/or options in your intended action. So, you'd post something like: I'll use rapid shot on an available target, but if I need to move more than 5 feet to find a target I'll just take one shot. You can include all rolls or leave if/or rolls to me.
Curraine Bahmler here. I'm an Elven Cleric and a member of the Silver Crusade faction. And sure, I come off as a slacker hippie surfer that hangs out on the shore's of the Inner Sea but you better not disrespect the tallent, Bro. I've got no problem driving a team of horses over your dome if think you can trash Gozreh, the cause, the rules, or the break. It won't be ignored. It won't be forgotten. It won't be tolerated. It will be handled. Don't be a gremmy.
And another elf, Falyf Nightwing, Magus and swordmaster par excellence (more later then earlier). Enjoying his time at the Pathfinder lodge, not any allainces yet, looking forward to his contracts and seeing, who he really likes.
Ok, we're just waiting for one more player to check in here. I'm hoping to start the scenario tomorrow evening.
Also note, the First Steps series assumes that the characters have not yet officially joined a faction. One of the purposes of these scenarios is to introduce the newer factions (shadow lodge, silver crusade, sczarni syndicate, lantern lodge, and grand lodge), and give new characters the chance to join in-game). You might have a faction already in mind, but you are not officially a member yet and there are no faction missions to complete in these scenarios.
Sorry about the wait. Half the group has either never played by post before, or hasn't played Pathfinder Society Organized play. I'm coaching them through the process now.
My plan is to post the introduction to the first Scenario later tonight.
Kalin, I'm going to say you're just arriving on the scene where Adamus is talking to Auntie Baltwin. We'll say you stopped for a snack from a roadside fish vendor in the Docks and promptly spent the next hour in a privy for your mistake.
Just a head's up everyone. I'll be unable to post from this Tuesday until next Monday. I hope you're all enjoying the scenario. If you have any comments or suggestions, please let me know.
I'm thinking about trying to get a flurry of posts in tonight. Maybe even wrap up the first scenario. With my schedule I could probably swing 10 to 11:30 pacific. Who's available to do that?
Ok, I need the following from everyone in order to fill out the Chronicle sheets. Email them to cachefloe at hotmail dot com - let me know here when you've done so.
Player Name
Character Name
Pathfinder Society # (yours plus character)
Character Faction
I'm trying to complete the Chronicle sheets for the first scenario. I'm going to initial where it asks, and put in as much as I can figure out, but if it's missing anything, just put it in yourselves.
By the way, I still need society information from Curraine and Haris.
