Maurie Wyssal |
My gains were the initial gold for the contest, and losses were the two gold I could spare for my healing.
DM Deevor |
OK guys this is your treasure list from the plague house ....
Anything else you obtained before the Plague House please add at the beginning of the list ...
Please can you go through and say that which you have sold, and how much you got for it. You should end up with a party money total at the top, if you split this amongst yourselves then subtract the money taken and split i.e, if you get 120 gp and split between 6 players 10gp each, total party gp is 60gp ...
Also who has what, and who carries the party treasure...
Think that about covers it ... gems and money full value, other stuff half value...
I've done this so we catch up the treasure, from now on its yours to manage ...
DM Deevor |
Managed to copy the table into the slides as before, so lets use that as before, but its got what you have collected ...
Brin of the Hearth |
Hey everyone,
It's come to that point where I need to bow out. I am traveling nearly all month in October and I just do not see myself being able to follow along any further on this game. I hope you can fill my slot, and please feel free to use Brin as an NPC if needed.
It's been fun and I hope you all solve the mystery of the Plaguehouse without a TPK!
DM Deevor |
It's up to you all what you want to do with Brin and replacements...
if you want a replacement, I could do with finding one in the next few days ...
posting is patchy at the moment ... not sure how you guys are feeling about the game ...
Grok the Wronged |
I'm fine with or without a replacement, though Brin's singing ability was a good way to win fights, so things will be harder.
A new person would post lots and maybe fan the flames a bit, but that's like to happen if Daktani's friends are about to pull the trigger anyway. Can't hurt to add another person, and it could be great, but it's also a lot of work for the DM.
Personally still rather enthused, would like to continue, and am trying to increase posting rate back up to the 2/day it was during the summer.
Cromwin Ganson |
Sorry to see you go, Brin. It was good playing with you.
I would be in favor of not recruiting for a replacement, if everyone is still good to go. From what I understand, the adventure path is written assuming four players, so while we might have a bit of a tough time, we can probably do it without needing additional recruitment as long as everyone else still wants to play.
I know its been a little slow since we got restarted; I'm not posting nearly as much as we did at the start either, partly because I'm in another game (I'm trying out PFS for the first time for the PBP Gameday), partly due to getting sick this week and partly because we ended up restarting at a bit of an awkward point without a lot of action to push forward with.
I think it sounds like we're about to progress things a bit though, so I will make an effort to try and post two to three times a day going forward when feasible, to try to pick up some of that old energy and get things going again. Is everyone else still interested?
As an aside, Cromwin needs to trade in some of our loot to afford the armor he wants during his trip to the Clamor. I'm guessing a forge owned by Zove's mother is more likely to take weapons we've found on trade than most places without a large amount of time spent haggling. Would it be ok if we exchanged some of Daktani's weapons as part of the purchase Grok and Cromwin want to make while we're there?
I'm going to go over our loot, see if I can figure out what we've already spent from this and each of our shares should be of the rest. Grok, do you want the chainmail we found? You're the only medium armor wearing person in the group now, Cromwin is going to be going for Banded, then Full Plate when he can afford it.
Cromwin Ganson |
So, the treasure is kind of complicated, because we've all bought various items and had sold a few things, but not much and split most of the coins. I went back through the gameplay thread and marked what I believe we sold and for how much, and what we've already split. I believe, based on some of the values listed, that GM Knight was probably boosting treasure a bit to make up for a 5 person party. As such, I think the simplest way to handle everything is to assume that the cash we've recorded on our sheets is accurate assuming we split everything I marked as split, and that anything that hasn't been marked that way is still up to be sold/divided between party members.
That leaves the only unsplit coinage currently unaccounted for as the 30 gp from Daktani.
Zove |
Cromwin you can have the scrolls to convert into armor money. I was just keeping them since I hadn't IDed them yet. I can always just buy a master set later, but I would like to hang on to the thieves tools for now in case we need it. Also, the party should keep the CLW wand certainly. Other than that, I say liquify all.
I'll fill in some values, its relaxing.
Zove |
Ok, copied it into a spreadsheet so electric machine do calcies, and removed items from the sum list that I think we have already dealth with.
By my calculations, the party has 2885.5 new gp in addition to what has already been done on our sheets, and ignoring the masterwork longsword taken by Brin for the time being.
So, 3245.5 / 3 = 1081.83 gp per person
edit: forgot campfire bead...recalced
Zove |
Also, just wanted to make a note that there is a strange leather belt and some potions that are unided. First chance in RP I'll make a roll.
Or, perhaps we could retcon that as part of Zove's 3 hours?
Also those keys are weird. We could try taking them to Sara, assuming she has a locksmith in employ...maybe a hint there.
DM Deevor |
Zove you can spellcraft Daktani's magic items ... its a retcon, no worries. ... you already did no worries ...
I'll take a look to see if you need to worry about the keys.
Would someone like to bot Brin until he follows his forefathers footsteps and stand before Pharesma ... ?
Grok the Wronged |
Looks like the leather belt is there so he can't hang himself. I'd like that chainmail, and the crowbar. We don't have time to sell everything yet though, I suppose that'll happen tomorrow or after the funeral, so until that happens I'll mark my gold as for selling the crossbow and collecting Daktani's coins, minus the shield I'm purchasing. Zove, why are you dividing 3245.5 by 3? Aren't there 4 of us?
DM, how many free action don/doff quickdraw shields can I use in a round?
I can bot Brin for a bit.
Edit: looking over my gear, I've ended up with 98lbs of things to carry, and a maximum light load of 76 lbs. Perhaps we can shift some gear to Cromwin's horse?
I'll post in the gameplay thread later today, I've got to visit the DMV (fun times).
Cromwin Ganson |
You can (Cromwin keeps a number of things he doesn't need immediately on hand in Anvil's saddlebags), although the chainmail will override the Medium load penalties. You use the worse of your encumbrance or your armor penalties for Max Dex/Armor Check Penalty/Speed, and Chain Mail is worse or equivalent for all three to Medium Encumberance.
DM Deevor |
Sorry was a bit longer than I imagined, blaming it on the footy on Saturday, I have a season ticket to watch the game, followed by beer to try and forget the result.
With Maurie not able to post much because of work commitments and life, I will try and recruit replacement for Brin ... quickly..
Zove identifies
1xPotion of CLW (despite not making the roll, its easily recognizable through looks, smell, taste ... you've seen many before)
2xPotion Pass without trace
Potion not discovered
Belt of Tumbling
Also not sure you ided the scroll of Ghoastbane Dirge from previously....
DM Deevor |
How would your characters react to a cleric of asmodeus?
Mostly worried about Cromwin's reaction.
Cromwin Ganson |
Hm. That depends on the cleric, to some extent. Cromwin is not going to be ok with a lot of evil acts, but would probably be fine with a cleric of Asmodeus that at least convincingly pretended to put the community first. He's not a great theologian, so it wouldn't take much for an Asmodean cleric who pulled his weight, helped the group and generally wasn't openly evil to convince him that Asmodeus isn't really that bad. An overtly evil Asmodean is probably not going to mesh very well though.
Grok the Wronged |
Probably interestingly. Grok's more about actions than words, so he doesn't really protest things he doesn't like or do much to stop them. Unless, of course, they're actually bad enough to warrant actions.
Compare some hypothetical conflict to the conflict Grok had with Maurie early on. He didn't like what she was doing, but it wasn't enough to warrant a fight between them, so he sat down. If it had been enough to warrant a fight (i.e. something a true believer in the highest demon in all the nine circles would do) then he wouldn't've stopped growling.
DM Deevor |
Lynch mob inspired by racism and a sudden attack? Easy solution, just get one guy of the race that scares them to shout at and threaten them.
What could go wrong?
ROFL .....
Cromwin Ganson |
GM Rolls init is fine by me. Only time I think it makes sense to do it otherwise is when someone has a limited use ability that they can use to boost initiative, which I don't think anyone has.
DM Deevor |
Thats a majority ...
Your initiatives are on my profile if you wish to check ...
I will add the text once I get home, make and eat dinner, then get the post up ..
DM Deevor |
Zove are you fully aware of the location of Sara and Angrit's home ... which I guess means your home too?
DM Deevor |
Zove, your home is in the lower inner quarter, a few builings in to the north, north east of the Southern Gate ... it will become more apparent later ...
You don't have to go in turn, I will interpret the actions in initiative order or not depending on what happens. If you want to waits for someone to go before you, then just put it in the post.
Grok the Wronged |
Not sure if Grok using the tools at his disposal to make his threats more tangible for the crowd is morally wrong, indeed, in Grok's eyes, if he doesn't shoot an arrow near the cleric then Brinya's in real danger.
Also rather certain that marks towards neutral/good don't really matter much, since Grok's definitely good and would probably shift back in the other direction quickly.

I wouldn't worry about it .... he'll make it up
DM Deevor |
I pm'ed Maurie a couple of days ago, not heard anything as yet.
Just let you work out the Grok - Zove wand thing, before I post the next thing ...
unless you want me to move on now ....
DM Deevor |
Will get the pictures/map up soon .... did I say map .. ooh!!!
The map is bigger than I've normally handled on pbp ... so I'm getting back into the swing of setting it up etc....
DM Deevor |
Came across this Quickdraw stuff
Not sure it will make a difference yet ... life's too short to be a rules lawyer.
Grok the Wronged |
From what I've read it seems like there are several interpretations. The main sticking points are if the shield, once stowed, requires a move action to retrieve followed by a free action to equip and if it still gives bonuses after using the hand to attack. It seems there's room for interpretation, and again, I'm fine with however you rule.
DM Deevor |
ready to move on past the barricade?
Grok, please make sure your HPs are up to date,
and when you do more healing with the wand ...
DM Deevor |
Thanks .... you din't want to be on 14 .... just sayin ...
The GM smiles knowingly ...
DM Deevor |
I had hoped to put a post together for you, but its been a very difficult day today in RL, I'm not in the right frame of mind to do it tonight. Really sorry guys + gals.
DM Deevor |
OK, I did do the write up and the slides, just telling you I hadn't, let me do it without feeling the pressure of having to do it...
...it helped.
Grok the Wronged |
Figures with the HP thing; I wasn't getting full value one time out of 8, so I was tempted to wait.
That sounds about right, and the post does seem quite long. Personally I prefer less information so that it's more difficult to make decisions (some of which are to gather information, which is fun because of unknown unknowns), so I don't have a problem if you make short posts.
DM Deevor |
Zove, picture updated, Sara and Angrit in other room ...
